All was good. The latte tasted so good. I also had an almond muffin/cake ish thing which was so good too. However the table was wobbly. I reminded me of Larry David’s episode on wobbly table in Cafe. It would be perfect if they get fixed. Leaning to table while enjoying the coffee is a must.

Soo…the date didn’t work out. As it turns out I don’t have the bank to deal with nice restaurants every day…and do to my inability to cook and the fact that women don’t enjoy microwaved meals on the regular we went our separate ways. Do not fret though! With the last few dollars to my name I packed my bags and headed to London, why you might ask? 1. Because I only speak English. 2. It’d encourage me to put more effort into my adventures. Lo and behold being in a new place doesn’t naturally boost one’s confidence…so after a failed night out I stumbled upon this absolute gem with my boyos. A welcoming atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff, a haven of sorts for a weary soul. I ordered what my friend calls a Breakfast Bap sat in my seat and while I waited read up on books teaching how to boost one’s confidence. Then the gates of heaven opened, a beautiful sandwich with a rich yolk, glorious relish, and a stupendous sausage. (My English teacher told me I should practice my descriptive words) Anyways it was tasty, 10/10 would recommend, didn’t have any sprinkles though..

Always such a friendly, warm welcome. The coffee and food are delicious and you can choose still or sparkling tap water for the table.

We came here at a quiet afternoon for lunch. We ordered at 1310, then the lady who took our order went to chat with others and eat her lunch. We waited for half an hour, while other customers came later than us were already eating and we still didn’t get our food. I then go to the counter and ask the assistant manager but she said she didn’t know and casually said they will make it now. Our food was served after 45 minutes without any apology. I was truly disappointed and I don’t understand is it that hard to apologise for their miscommunication? Food was okay but the service was terrible.

Nice coffee shop offering a variety of food and nice decor. They use top coffee equipment but use the common Allpress beans for their espresso-based drinks. Unfortunately, I ordered a cortado but was given a flat white - I believe the barista was quite new but anyway, it wasn't a huge mistake. Interestingly, they sell beans from Kawa, a highly rated Paris roastery, and Obadiah, an Edinburgh roastery.

WAS my favorite coffee shop when I just came to London and during the month when I lived around Liverpool St I always visited their place and got a coffee before going to school. But now everything just changed - I visited this place for the purpose of recollecting the good memories, but they just created a very boring screen-free policy which does not allow customers to use laptops during 12 to 3 pm. The lady who’s in charge of the place told me that I may still use it if the shop is not busy. Around 2pm there was only 3-4 tables of people and I thought it was already not that busy and had to deal with an urgent matter. However, the lady was quite annoyed and angry with my behavior although the no-screen policy didn’t make any sense at that time. When I apologized and explained I was handling an urgent matter she didn’t even look at me. So everything changed except they still have good food and coffee. But I’ll never visit this place ever as the people are no longer those guys I knew in the first place and the disgusting service really made me SICK.

A perfect little cafe! From the warm team to the wonderfully prepared coffee to the sweets and sandwiches, everything is at its finest. Thank you for your hospitality!

Nice coffee shop in Spitalfields on Petticoat Lane Market.

Cute cafe, only got a mocha to go. But there is plenty of seating, friendly staff, dog friendly. They are screen free from 12-3 and all day on the weekends.

The people working were so kind, coffee was excellent, sandwiches and salads were very tasty ( great vegetarian options! ). The cheesecake was amazing too, they brought out a little candle for my partners birthday. Also in a great location - so close to everything yet a quiet tranquil road. Recommended!!

The food was overpriced for what you got compared to other similar places. No vegan options on their menu. Staff was not outright rude, but definitely not friendly. The tables were sticky. Surprised they have such positive reviews? The decorations and music was nice ☺️

Very cozy place with cool pottery pieces, magazines to read and an amazing toasted sesame and dates banana bread. The environment is very nice so it's worth going if you want to enjoy some time in a calm and relaxed place

I never leave bad reviews but was disappointed by the inhospitable, snobby service here -- despite the fact the cafe was completely dead, we were told to leave due to having a laptop because it might ruin the non-existent "vibe" and apparently cause hordes of laptop users to come running in. Avoid unless you enjoy frosty, unfriendly service.

Food is below average and measured to an inch - £9.5 for a sandwich with hardly any filling is a disgrace. My iced chai was full of ice cubes and was not even filled to the top. Also the no laptop policy is greedy.

We had heard about Potter and Reid so went with family. The cafe is cute! Nicely set up. Staff are friendly. Everyone enjoyed their coffee’s or tea. The cheese toastie was a hit and so yummy! We also had the asparagus & leek tart, roast chicken, and tomato on toast with an egg & cheese. All very good. Their banana bread was my favorite banana bread. They also offer coffee beans. We were enjoying our time there and forgot to take pics of the food. I would highly recommend this cafe!

I understand the policy of no laptops, but refusing customers to be able to buy a coffe just because you bring a laptop with you is terrible. Even though the shop is completely empty, I would assume you would let someone sit for a set amount of time, similarly to resturants, rather than just being rudly told off. Sad to see such a nice looking café have no sense of customer service. A little flexibility and a welcoming approach could make a huge difference. It's understandable that tables need to be cleared for lunch reservations, which would have to be respected. Absolutely, I get the need to keep tables free for lunch reservations, and that's fair. But, a friendly heads-up about the policy and an offer to hang out until the reservations start would have felt much better. Just being a bit more chill and approachable about the rules could really make the place more inviting and definitely make me want to come back. But for now, I believe a 1 is suitable based on this.

Potter & Reid is one of my absolute favourite spots in London! We've been coming here regularly since it opened and the cafe has maintained its friendly, relaxed atmosphere, and the high quality of its food, baked goods and coffee. The food is seasonal, fresh, and varied. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, and the space is bright and open, while also feeling cosy and homely. There aren't many better places you can visit for breakfast or lunch in central London - it's a little oasis on Toynbee Street :)

Cute, cosy and welcoming. The food is great and I firmly believe these guys do the best filter coffee I have ever had. If you get the sausage breakfast bap get brown sauce, it’s homemade and wildly tasty

It's a great hidden cafe in the middle of the Shoreditch area. It's a few minutes walk from the station, and a bit difficult to spot where it is, but that makes this place peaceful and special. The cafe is simple but very trendy. The food is excellent quality there. I had a marinated tomato and ricotta cheese toast, it was delicious. Perfect for Sunday breakfast or brunch and have a chat with your friends or family. They also have taps which provide still and even sparkling water which is a small but great hospitality. The staff is nice and helpful too. One of my favourite cafes in East London 😉

The food was good, but the latte wasn't to my taste, it was quite sour. The environment was supposed to be good, but there were many obvious stains on the sofa seat cushions, which somewhat affected the mood. But the store staff are very nice, and I quite like the design where you can self-service sparkling water!

Lovely place for a coffee, good atmosphere to chat without it being too noisy. Tasty coffee, free water refills, a clean toilet and the rhubarb pastry was yum too! Looks like they have good savoury brunch options, but we didn’t try on this occasion.

Came for lunch and had the celeriac soup with walnuts to start and spiced chicken puff pie with a citrus radicchio salad (incredible), food and service were outstanding 🧡

Coffee tastes so good! (although the size of the cup is smaller than I expected) If you’re planning to work or study here, it’s only allowed in the morning or afternoon (3-5pm) I found it’s not suitable place for doing some work(cause of the time rule), I’ll def come back to grab lunch sometime :)

Delicious coffee in a clean, relaxed, low key cafe. Take a high seat at the window (marble adorned bar) to watch the world go by or a table to the side and tuck into some delicious cake or other sweet offering. Maybe drop by for breakfast staples or vegetarian friendly lunch.

Super cute place, great coffee!! Had the bacon bap, it was amazing! Very nice staff and nice place to sit and work or study. They often have little community events here, they are a bit of a local institution.

I came here for a special evening event recently and it was really fun with a great atmosphere. Food and wine were super yummy. It's a great place to come for lunch as well their coffee is delicious.

Enjoyed a friendly welcome, excellent coffee and a tasty breakfast. We really loved looking through the books with local photographs documenting the history of the people of Spitalfields. Wine selection was interesting too, and it would be a great place to spend an evening.

WOW! This place is amazing, I’ll be coming back again and again. First off the inside is very aesthetically pleasing and spacious, there’s actually a lot more seating than you’d expect. What I also found great is that they had still AND sparkling water to help yourself to. The food is phenomenal, I cannot get over the smoked trout. So yummy. The presentation is top notch and each element of the dish compliments each other wonderfully. So fresh too. As for the brownie, I was amazed. I’m genuinely so curious on how they got the perfect consistency. Definitely recommend the brownie (even if you don’t consider yourself a brownie lover, I guarantee this brownie will change your mind. Trust me!) I loved how the staff seemed so genuinely happy to be working there. This is a great place and I wish it all the success.

The cortado I had was made with exceptional techniques. This cafe offers a very modern and warm decor, perfect for casual catching up with friends and a tranquil moment by yourself.

Welcoming café with great tunes being played. Quite spacious. Eggs on toast were phenomenal. One thing to note is that you can't use a laptop from 11-3 (lunch time), which meant we couldn't work from the café.

This review is based entirely on the chocolate and caramel brownie. On the basis of this I feel like you'll probably enjoy other food there as they make the brownie themselves and it's one of the best in London. Using Valrhona chocolate it's squidgy and rich and perfect. The owners are lovely, too and there's plenty of space to sit! This was a feature in my weekly Substack newsletter where I share the best things I eat in London and beyond (with a heavy sweet and vegetarian slant!).

went to grab morning coffee, but most of the people here was having brunch menu which looked really good.. lot of comfy seats and also window seats where you can have a quick fix of caffeine. coffee was really nice and service also good. and they had iced coffee too.

We were walking to our usual coffee place in the area and accidentally came across this place. Wow, what a nice little cafe, serving great coffee and simple, well thought out, quality food. Service was great too, will be coming back for a glass of wine next time!

This is such a great find in the Spitalfields/ Shoreditch area. An independent all day cafe cooking delicious, inventive and simple food for brunch / lunch. The blackboard menus changes daily and is a great spot to meet friends, colleagues or for solo visit. Allpress Coffee expertly made and great cakes and cookies, plus a small deli cum grocery section. Simple whitewashed walls and vintage furniture, plus outdoor pavement tables make this a pleasant spot away from the bustle of nearby Spitalfields Market and Commercial Road.
