Al Madina in High Peak

Sorry to say this was a disappointing take away for the price , the staters were cold , Onion Bhaji hardly had any onions in them more Gram flour than anything else , not eatable . and the curry lacked flavour

Fabulous service and food . So kind to me last night in the horrid weather. The food is exceptional as well.

We’ve lived in Whaley for over six years now and tried all the restaurants. If you want a reasonable curry, go to Ikrams. If you want a really good curry, go to Memories of India. If you want the best curry you’ve had in your life, go to Al-Madina. Everything is perfect, the poppadums are fresh and clearly cooked in fresh oil, the naans and rotis are to die for and the lamb is the best we’ve ever had. It’s worth moving to Whaley just for Al-Madina, never mind the fact that it’s a fabulous place to live! 😊

Had several take aways over the few weeks and every time absolutely spot on not a negative anywhere. Best Indian take away for many many miles

Not tried this place before but reviews looked good. Unfortunately the food was a bit bland, lacking in spice and syrupy sweet. Garlic naan and rice was okay.

I can't eat hot spicy food and have spent years at other restaurants and take aways being fobbed off with a Korma. Even when I have ordered other mild dishes I still seem to just get yet another korma. Finally I have found somewhere that actually puts some effort into the mild dishes. So far I have had 3 different dishes, all been lovely. I especially like the special called Mango D which they put prawns in for me as I don't like chicken. My friend has the hotter dishes and he won't go anywhere else either. Great food, great service and always looks very clean.

Absolutely amazed at the flavour of everything! The lamb was our favourite dish, so succulent and tasty. The potion sizes are big and the food is all so authentic and spiced and seasoned to perfection! We have just finished eating as much as we can and there is still half of everything left to go! Will 100% be ordering from here again :) thank you for a lovely experience!

Fancied a Sunday night take out.My daughter has been eating at the Viceroy in Bollington.She said they do the best Chicken Chat.I said Al Madina take out will match it.She wasn't disappointed.The requested Creamy Chicken Chat Puri was just as good and the plate was cleared.Just ask and they can do it!!! Always great.

Forget the rest! Talented chefs work tirelessly to bring you their very best. Good choice in the menu and they are always willing to adapt a dish to your particular preferences. Excellent value for money.

Never tried this place even though I've lived here a while. I've really been missing out. Very clean. Fast and friendly takeaway. Meal for 4 people in 25 mins. The food was truly gorgeous. I would not hesitate to recommend. Lovely

Excellent quality. We have never been let down. The big plus, besides quality and choice, is that they deliver! Such a treat. We have friends who visit and insist we have a meal from Al Madina! ( is this the reason they come to stay???).

Whenever we fancy a curry this is the place of choice. Great selection of curies. Good advice offered (and I love to watch them cook when I am picking up an order)

Telephone the order and walked to collect half an hour later as that when it was due to be ready - and it was. Food quality fantastic as always with complementary popadoms in the bag. Friendly and polite staff and huge portions. Prices are reasonable too.

We enjoyed our takeaway. I had onion bhajee, chicken tikka madras and mushroom pilau rice and my partner had prawn samber. The food is cooked in an open kitchen and was very tasty. It is worth noting that this is a cash only establishment.

Absolutely gorgeous food, wouldn’t consider going anywhere else! The poppadums are fresh and crispy, unlike the Ikram which taste of old, burnt oil! Previous posts are wrong, you can pay by card on the Al-Madina website as we have been doing for a while. Don’t waste your hard earned cash by going anywhere else, you’ll only be disappointed.

No menu online. Cannot pay by card (over phone nor upon delivery). More expensive than the fabulous Ikram across the road. Ikram was closed for a function sadly so we thought we’d give these guys a try & ordered what we normally would on a Saturday evening. The ‘king’ prawn puri was grey & tasteless & the tiniest prawns I’ve ever seen (even by non-king size standard 😂) The bread (puri) was in the prawn sauce carton & was greasy & soggy yuk! The chicken tikka dupiaza was extremely bland & no depth. The chicken over cooked & dry & the onions were tough (I don’t mean undercooked I mean as though it was a bad onion!) Most of it went in the bin & I was left feeling sick all evening. For 2 people: 4 popadoms & chutneys, 1 prawn puri starter, 1 pilau rice & 1 chicken tikka dupiaza it was over £17.....don’t bother, in our opinion!

I think I can safely say this was the worst curry I have ever bought,See photo for what they consider to be an onion BharjiThe chicken bhuna was so poor , more a cockney in diced onions.My order mixed up with another’s. Rice lobby.Won’t be going back

Excellent food and friendly service, all food prepared to order, which allows for a quick pint in one of the locals. Good value and excellent quality.

Food high quality as always, staff polite and friendly and prompt delivery. Highly recommended. The curry with cheese is different but very tasty.

Have been using Al Madina for years as our local Indian takeaway and they are, in my opinion, the best in the area. The food is always great and well made by friendly staff. It is also reasonable value for money. They have a delivery service but if you decide to order there/pick up yourself then there are a few good pubs in the area you can have a drink at while you wait.

Decided to try Al Madina again after a while away, and whilst the curry was nice it was nothing special. I went for the king prawn tikka masala which had more of a wintergreen flavour to it. Delivery service great though.

The best tasting Indian food takeaway I have had for ages. Their specials are amazing. The delivery service is great. I loved it and will be going back again and again.

Trip advisor reviews, consider myself a very good judge of Indian cuisine and the standard of food and quantity was nothing short of 100% just beautiful, open cooking, good quantity of food, not floating in oil, counter staff friendly and jovial no rush to take payment until we returned after a drink bearing in mind we were total strangers. Couldn't fault this takeaway, not expensive and top value for money..oh, and a couple of pops chucked in for free. On holiday but will be back before we return home for sure, well done lads!!

La calidad de curry es increíble, después de haber visitado muchos otros llevar indios en la zona siempre he atrapado con Al madina como mi favorito. Los cocineros son muy amables y siendo galardonado, premio regional muy talentoso! Normalmente voy por el josh rogan, bhuna o korma. Altamente recomendado en general!

Dieron una gran bagful de curry mezclado y lados cuando estés en Whaley una noche. El servicio era bueno y amable y los precios eran buenos. La comida estaba buena y una gran variedad de calidad y algunos platos un poco diferentes. El inconveniente era...

¿Dónde Whaley sin Al Madina? Hay otras opciones disponibles, pero Al Madina nunca nos decepcionó. Tanto si es para una comida más ligera como un pollo tikka kebab o un mezclado entrante o un plato principal que no pueden ser golpeadas si quieres sabor y calidad. Nada es demasiado problema y los chefs están encantados de adaptar el menú a sus necesidades particulares.

By far the best place to get a curry for miles, when I ring up and give my order they recognise my voice and always know where to deliver to, without me even having to say, and no minimum order, I even pay cheque when I've no cash in my purse, nothing is too much trouble

Over the years it's been our favourite place to go for a curry! Reliable, quick and tasty but the past 3 times we've ordered we've been disappointed. One of the times the order was totally wrong the second time it was bland and this time my curry was dry and a bit cold I really like the guys there they're lovely but it's gone down hill recently and i don't know what's happened but I don't think we will be ordering again.

Been coming here for years wouldn't go anywhere else best takeaway for miles ,the tandoori mixed grill is amazing.,5 star .

Visited during the Easter half term while staying down in Chinley with family, food was piping hot and really well prepared, the open kitchen is a great idea, the chef even let me watch him make my Dansak as I was curious to see how it was done!

We've used Al-Madina for our takeway Indian food for several years. The kitchen is clean and the service very friendly. The food is always good and they will vary spicing/heat etc to order. They will deliver if requested locally. We can always rely on Al-Madina for good food and a smile !

My husband and I always order from here...whether its kebabs or curries the food is so fresh and tasty. They also deliver which is great . The staff are always helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

I wish that they had a sit down restaurant as the food from here is always fantastic and as said before they smile all the time.

Without doubt the best and most authentic curry in the High Peak area. Always cooked fresh, delivered in record time and the service is 2nd to none!!!Wouldn't ever use another curry house.............period!If you haven't tried it then give it a whirl, because I've been using them 14 years now and have never had a bad meal!!!!10 out of 10 guys!

In my whole entire life I have never had a curry, as tasty as the ones from Al Madinah. One of the many great things about this take away is that it is consistent. No one can say they've had a bad curry from there, no one. The portions are perfect size, worth every penny. The food is brilliant, you have to taste it to believe it. The workers are friendly and make food to your requirements. The head chef is even award winning. They offer catering services which I have had on many occasions. Again the food is top quality every time, no matter what the quantity. Highly recommend the people of Manchester, and visitors to try Al Madinah for the best curries. You won't regret it. Truly is the BEST!

Our family has been using the Al Madina take-away fro the last ten years. The food is always exceptional, tastier than any other curry take away in South Manchester. Can't recommend it highly enough. Always friendly, good service and I've never had a bad meal yet.

We've tried many, many Indian take outs as they're a family favourite, but nothing beats Al madinaThe staff are so friendly and now recognise our order, ha! They throw in new dishes to try or a few nibbles to try, which is lovely.We always order the same dishes and have never had any faults, very consistent with tasteThe only downside, which I don't know if you can even call a downside, is that the portions are HUGE. Always left over to take to work the next day!!Won't go anywhere else!

Me and my partner had curries from here for a couple of years however after tonight it will be last time we do until the quality and customer service is brought back up to previous standard . Up until 2 months ago this curry house couldn't do anything wrong however over last 2 months everytime we have order food there has been problems . These range from items missing to food swimming in oil . To summerise IF they bring their quality back up to their previous standards then then this would be a great place maybe even 5 star , however as it is now lucky to be 2 stars

Always perfectly cooked and any special requests catered for. The blokes who work there are friendly and great at what they do - I've never had a bad take away from there

The food was absolutely delicious, they make it to your choice and suitability and I have been around A lot of restaurant/takeaways this is my favourite. I love the fact that the workers try to give the food as quick as possible and the atmosphere is just as good!

I am not a lover of Indian Food and usually avoid it but after being introduced to Al Madina's fare I'm converted and regulary partake in a takeaway.
