Akshaya in Liverpool

Arranged 50th Birthday celebration and was looked after by Harsha who was amazing, patient who sorted out a return of a dish with his manager who show grace and patience. Askhaya will keep coming back the ladies loved the food and beautiful setting. Again big up for HARSHA. 🤩

We were ordering food from overseas as a surprise birthday gift for my uncle who is elderly and a longstanding patron of Akshaya, a retired surgeon in Birkenhead. We were extremely disappointed that they couldn't get our credit card details eventhough we have arranged pickup by my cousin who lives in Liverpool. Absolutely astonishing especially in this technological advanced world. I just ordered flowers with my credit card to be delivered in England. We had many memorable visits at Akshaya, even last month. We are extremely disappointed.

Ooh la la! No not French but deliciously Indian! What a feast… poppadoms served with a beetroot relish and mango chutney, cocktail samosas and gorgeous onion bhajis began the feast. This was followed up with Chicken Chettinadu, lamb rogan Josh, coconut rice and garlic and chilli naan. Absolutely delicious 😋 The level of spice was perfect, best meal outside of India itself. And if that wasn’t enough, we were then tempted by beetroot halva - probably not a choice I would have made but wow, absolutely mouth wateringly delicious 😋 And not too sweet either as often Indian deserts can be.

was initially reluctant due to location however it was beautiful and cannot wait to come back! staff were attentive and the place was spotless overall, the food was outstanding! piping hot - we then went into the bar for cocktails and the barman, after chatting to him and learning he had 6 years experience, forgotten his name sorry possibly simbu? anyway he was fabulous! whipping me up recommended cocktails and pours a perfect pint in spotless glasses, best indian around bar none! recently tried a new one and wasn't impressed, wouldn't waste time going anywhere else again

Food was amazing and the restaurant is lovely inside. We got chaat bombs, tikka paneer, butter chicken and chicken korma and all of it was lovely. Not cheap but not really expensive either. Already looking forward to going back

I went to Akshaya for lunch with my friends. The staff were really friendly, the food was incredible and I loved the aesthetic. We got served by Diya who was really friendly and made the best recommendations. We had an amazing time, will definitely be back. 10/10

We used to visit this restraunt on a regular basis when it was next door and much smaller. We were always welcomed by Tommy and the team, we only stopped going as we moved to Warrington. We visited the new venue on Saturday gone, Wow, we were blown away by what Tommy and his partners have achieved, amazing decor, food and service. I originally booked a table 1 month prior to the date of the booking, I even emailed to confirm this had gone through on google plus they called me on the day to confirm. When we arrived we were placed on two separate booths with the backs to each other as a table of 9. So it was like two completely different tables and you couldn’t talk to each other- what’s the point in that? We asked to move and they put us in another room that seemed to be where the kids where put to sleep almost. We decided to go back to the original seating and when a table become available infront of us we asked to move, they said no it’s booked. It turned 9pm and still no table showed up, but a couple sat with just drinks on a table for 9 after us being denied the table. We waited over an hour to receive our mains. The room started to get freezing cold, and it’s so sad not being sat in the main restaurant that is advertised. Just sat by a window to look at the sights that come from sheil road. The service was slow. The food come gone 9, it was lukewarm. It wasn’t nice at all. Even when you’re hungry it just isn’t nice at all. The lamb was full of fat & grizzle, a third was edible. Rice was alright. Naan burnt and dry didn’t seem fresh. The food was so tasteless. Our tables food was not enjoyable at all. But the other table enjoyed theirs. It was an expensive waste of time and if you want to go to a great Indian I’d advise gate of India on south road. Never be returning and will spread the word not to come here. After being denied to move to free tables three times to sit with the people we booked the table for it felt tiring and pointless to even complain about the food nobody checked back on. We got offered to have the bill whilst the other table of ours was still eating. I did tell the waiter the food was cold but he smiled nodded and walked off. It just couldn’t be any worse for a first time visiting somewhere AVOID don’t be fooled by the pics

Tonight reem was our server and she was on the ball. She served us from starters to dessert and recommended us amazing dishes tonight. Great place if your looking for delicious Turkish food and service.

While doing some work as a handyman in an apartment with two Indian ladies, one made dinner and offered me some. It was delicious! And reminded me I've not been to an Indian restaurant for a few years. I pass Akshaya frequently and posted on social media... has anyone eaten there? All responses were positive. So decided to go. The food was delicious, the staff are absolutely lovely. And the restaurant and bar at the rear, are really nice! And... it only cost me £41 for starters, main meal (Lamb Madras) with sides: rice and naan, desert, and 2 large red wines. I then went into the bar for another glass of red and to let my meal settle for a bit. All in all, it was a perfect evening!

Clean ,staff attentive, food lovely ,not rushed reasonably priced drinks also reasonable Off street parking would definitely return

The best curry I’ve ever had. I’ve had a few. Me- dad from Sri Lanka. I eat a lot of Indian food. This is the real deal. If you want authentic food that tastes great and is beautifully presented by polite charming staff, dishes you don’t see elsewhere then come here. If you want made up pseudo Indian slop then just get a regular Indian’. Which beat’s absolutely no relationship to any thing Indian. ( But really - don’t). If that is your usual curry then the chances are that you won’t recognise much! Tips. Samosa chat ( different). Mutton rolls. Gobi 65. Butter chicken. The Kulumbu lamb Forget Nan (which is good). But try paratha. Dosa- totally authentic, spectacular and enormous. All in a beautiful setting on a road you’d not associate with such a great restaurant. And they have parking. Proof is that, unlike just about any ‘Indian’ about half the customers will be Indian / Sri Lankan.

4th time here in this restaurant absolutely gorgeous. Decor fab and staff impeccably dressed . Food is stunning and I have been to many many restaurants and would have to say this is by far the best. You feel looked after as soon as you walk in the door. I feel for freshness and authenticity the value for money is really good. I love this place wish I could eat here every week, wow

This is my favourite place ever! The food in amazing and the staff are fab! Mohammed always has a nice chat with us and I love him! He’s such a good guy and having good staff and fast service; makes it such a nice trip every single time! I never go anywhere else!

Nice food, however the portion size is very small and expensive, ordered lamb chop starter, the 3 lamb cutlets were extremely small and cut thin that said they did taste nice. Next ordered a curry and rice, once again tiny portion of curry, not enough to cover the rice

The biryani i had gave me tummy issues the next day. The worst part is paying £10 for a veg biryani that hardly had 2 handful of rice, (literally could count the veggies as there were hardly any) 4-5 huge potatoes that filled the container, 2 carrots, 2 corn pieces and thats it! Such a rip off!

My best experience of Indian food in Liverpool, with each dish individually spiced to perfection. The decor, cleanliness and service are exemplary and though others may have uttered a negative opinion about the area of Liverpool that the restaurant is in, that just makes this a little jewel. Following an initial visit, I have taken others who have all felt very positively about their food and the service on offer.

Akshaya - The Picture Drome has got a beautiful decor and interior with very friendly service. The staff are very helpful. The food is good. Tandoori Paneer tikka for starter was good, the Chilli gobi and Chicken 65 were very good.

Fabulous interior, very smart and clean. We asked for food recommendations and Riya and Tommy were very warm and friendly. We had a fish dish and a lamb dish and neither disappointed along with a fabulous Peshwari naan It was our first visit and we can’t wait to come back

To be honest a little bit strange. The restaurant is nice inside but in an area that isn’t great. The staff were all very serious and the service was a bit formal and stiff. This was not in keeping with the surroundings and city of Liverpool in our opinion. I’ve been to over 300 Indians in the UK and this is the most bizarre. Nothing bad at all. The food was actually nice. The chicken 65 was good and so were the sheeks. Should have had more salad and sauce but nice. The curries tasted nice but a bit thin the sauces. The lamb was ok. In my opinion could be great if they chilled out a bit and added some touches.

Just a family dinner went well we ordered mutton biryani, lamb shanks, butter naan, Gobi 65, chicken 65, chicken fired rice finally finished with Panipuri all are good but not happy with mutton biryani the taste was not excepted... Services was really excellent.

Just enjoyed a fantastic evening in a beautiful restaurant with delicious South Indian food, with friendly staff. We will definitely be back!

Fuimos a este restaurante para avisarles que vendríamos a cenar alrededor de las nueve. Éramos tres y cuando regresamos, la anfitriona nos pareció genial. Ella no nos dio la bienvenida. Ella nos dijo que tomáramos un lugar y nos sentamos. Después de 10 minutos de espera sin que nadie viniera a nuestra mesa salimos. Todos nos sentimos decepcionados porque parece un buen lugar. La anfitriona no hizo ningún intento de preguntar qué estaba mal, de hecho, parecía aliviada de que nos fuéramos. Me recordó lo que los afroamericanos experimentaron en los años 60 y en los restaurantes. Eso es negar el servicio siendo ignorado.

Although not in an area I would normally choose to eat, this restaurant was recommended to us by a group of Indian chefs so thought it must be worth giving a go. So happy that we did as once inside, the ambience is really lovely, staff courteous and helpful and the food fabulous! My husband and I both opted for the Paneer Manchurian, we chose to have it “spicy” and it delivered on every level! Delicious chunks of paneer that had been deep fried in a batter, served with a delicious spicy sauce - it was orgasmic! This was followed for the Masala Dosa, the main reason for our visit. We’d eaten dosa’s during our stay in India and absolutely loved them yet failed to find any restaurant back in Liverpool that served them. They were superb. Delicious crispy pancake stuffed with a gorgeous potato filling and served with the sambar and chutneys - excellent. Kingfisher beers washed the food down perfectly! A truly excellent find and a restaurant that we will be frequenting regularly especially with the excellent priced charged too!

Below average food quality. I never go back i ohad fish curry it was watery no taste at all,disappointed.
