Akbars in Birmingham

Fui aquí por mis sobrinas 18 cumpleaños. Hemos visitado aquí con bastante frecuencia, por lo tanto pensamos que sería bueno celebrar su cumpleaños aquí con algunas bebidas y buena comida. Tan decepcionados con todo, tuvimos que pedir que se cambiara un servidor, ya que seguía caminando mientras todavía estábamos hablando con él, no estaba prestando atención, ¡tuvimos que pasar por solo nuestro pedido de bebidas 4 veces! Después de cambiar de servidor todavía estábamos esperando para ser servidos y tuvimos que llamar literalmente para ser servidos. Una vez que finalmente obtuvimos nuestra comida, desde los entrantes hasta la red eléctrica, nos quedamos tan decepcionados con ella. La calidad era abundante y las porciones eran muy pequeñas. Me quejé con nuestro servidor y dijo que iría a hablar con el gerente. ¡Nadie vino a nuestra mesa! Finalmente acabamos de pagar la cuenta y nos fuimos muy decepcionados con toda la experiencia!

Atendido por Wajid que nos proporcionó un excelente servicio al cliente. La comida era excelente calidad y sin duda recomendaría.

Visité Akbars por primera vez, emocionado de probar su cocina india, pero desafortunadamente, mi experiencia fue decepcionante. Encontré un pelo en mi comida, lo que inmediatamente planteó preocupaciones sobre la higiene. Lo que empeoró la situación fue que el gerente y el personal no parecían particularmente molestos cuando lo mencioné. Apenas hubo una disculpa o un intento de rectificar la situación. Para una primera visita, no era el tipo de experiencia que esperaba. Espero mucha mejor atención a la limpieza y el servicio al cliente, especialmente en un lugar que sirve comida. No voy a volver pronto.

Siempre vienen aquí para un curry, ya que es el mejor de la ciudad y las vibraciones son siempre encantadoras. Tuvimos el camarero más dulce de la historia, Raja Saleem. Él cuidó tan bien de nosotros y tuvo una presencia tan encantadora. Gracias por el servicio increíble, y nos encantó la comida.

Esta fue una decisión de última hora para visitar y tan contento de que lo hicimos. Nos atendieron tan bien, el servicio es amable y rápido. El menú es extenso e interesante. Las comidas que pedimos eran tan sabrosas, el pollo tikka y keema estaba delicioso. Estábamos aquí por negocios y si de vuelta definitivamente volveremos de nuevo, pueden reclamar con seguridad ser rey del curry.

He venido desde Londres, por recomendación. La comida fue extremadamente decepcionante. Robo a plena luz del día por el precio de la comida. El charsi karahi no tenía gusto afgano. Necesitas contratar a un chef afgano para que te muestre cómo se hace. Siento que el dinero que gasté en esa comida sería mejor ir a la tienda local de pescado con papas fritas. ¡Sentí que encendí un horno y puse el dinero dentro! Qué desperdicio de dinero. He oído cosas muy buenas sobre Akbars así que quería visitarme. Visitado desde Londres específicamente para probar la comida Akbars El personal era muy agradable y muy acogedor. Pedimos alitas/tikka como entrantes - muy sabroso y las salsas eran muy buenas también plato principal era karahi de pollo y karahi de cordero - ambos eran absolutamente sabrosos El personal era increíblemente atento, especialmente Wajid - me hizo sentir como en casa. Su conocimiento del menú fue impresionante y sus recomendaciones fueron puntuales. Siempre tenía una sonrisa en su cara!

Nos encanta akbar la comida es excelente el personal es tan amable el servicio de atención es excepcional, el personal no puede hacer lo suficiente por usted. Si quieres buena comida excelente servicio no puedo recomendar akbar lo suficiente. Estuvimos aquí cada semana y hemos estado viniendo aquí durante años.

Food is awesome. Really like the food. I will visit them again shortly. But service was bit down. After 8 years I visited them again but still the quality of food is great.

We order seafood balti, as description was good, but it seems worse thing I ever taste with greasy oil, it seemed they cooked days old and mix with non compatible spices.

I was in Birmingham for three days and ate there every night. The staff were frendly and attentive and the food was excellent. The portions were generous and the menu gave plenty of options. I would throughly recommend this restaurant.

NICE FOOD BUT EXPENSIVE. WE ORDERED A COBRA WHICH FOR A 330ML BOTTLE COST £5, FOOD ORDERED WAS CHICKEN CHAT POORI, NICE BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF IT WS AN ACTUAL PURI AS OPPOSED TO A BHATURA, ORDERED CHOPS THEY WERE NICE, CHICKEN PEICES WITH LAMB KEEMA CURRY WAS NICE, STANDARD NAN IS £4 BUT IS ENOUGH TO FEED 2/3 PEOPLE. Came on Sunday night with my husband and kids. Been before so knew what to expect but this time they totally exceeded expectations! Food was much better than i last remember and the service was fantastic. We were looked after by Adam and he made our visit memorable. He interacted with my kids, was polite friendly and an absolute pleasure! Awful Place, Awful Customer Service, Awful Food… Save yourself and go elsewhere. The moment we entered we were served by unprofessional staff not friendly at all. The cutlery was chipped, glasses were dirty so foggy absolutely disgusting! On top of it all popdam chutney they charge £3.00 for the platter and £1.20 for top up which is not mentioned in the menu. It’s daylight robbery. When addressed the concerns the staff were rude and aggressive especially Yusra. Not sure what she’s doing working for Akbars. She’s highly unprofessional and mouthy! I have video evidence happy to share it with management Even one star is too much for them. They deserve zero!

This is by far one of the best restaurants I have been to I was recommended the lamb chops which were so flavorful and the cod masala fish was so fresh and tasty for mains I had lamb Charsi which was just amazing the huge naans are brilliant ,it’s a very family friendly place good atmosphere and thanks to kasim for his excellent service and hospitality thank you so much , would definitely be coming back 10 out 10

This place is amazing, the food is out of this world and the service is next level too !!! We we’re really fussy about our food and drinks and the main waiter, Kasim, is the most polite and obliging waiter I‘ve had in years, if ever. All our extra wishes we’re catered to at once. It was a perfect night out. I highly recommend it.

I went to Akbars after 4 years !! I must say the food was exactly how it was 4 years ago! I loved their chicken charsi and lamb Karhai!! The desserts were on point! They have changed the management and this new manager lady was very polite and kind !! The new management is doing brilliant!!

The restaurant is very nice regarding the location and the ambience. Excellent variety of options for Indian, Pakistani and Asian cuisine altogether. The host politely welcomed us and seated us within 5 minutes of arriving. Our waiter, Ziya was very welcoming and was really good throughout the dinner. The runner also did a really good job. Great place been few times always great service and friendly and the food is great cooked fresh and the tandoori roti and chapatis are fresh dough very noticeable if you like your curry :) I had a chicken spinach Charsi dish cooked to perfection And all served with a smile with great service from kasim Highly recommend akbars Birmingham

This restaurant has really bad customer care when as customers we genuinely point out to waiters and managers what needs correcting with what we have ordered. These things do happen but their managers and staff waiters need training in customer care than to tell fee paying clients looking for a joyful evening out that ‘ Birmingham has many choices and there is the door! I am from a professional hospitality background and to learn critically this is how Akbar prioritises its customer care, frankly is appalling and shocking. Either they are making too much money to even care, or didn’t want to prise themselves on ensuring quality service and care provision. Some menu items are not to satisfaction and differ depending which chef is on duty. I would google Birmingham balti triangle for alternative choices as instructed by the manager.

Came to Akbars for the first time tonight, travelled an hour and it was so worth it. We had popadoms, garlic chicken Balti - lovely warmth and the chicken was so tender. A chicken makhani this was very mild but a nice flavour, a chicken tikka masala which was mildly spiced, mushroom rice, peshwari naan and 2 chapatis. The food was excellent and the best curries we have eaten. We finished the meal with chai tea, this was amazing. Thanks so much, service was brilliant.

We went to akbars, myself and my wife stayed at the holiday inn and I have to say I was really impressed. The staff was amazing and the food was incredible. I don’t say that lightly, I had the lamb shank and it was not only melting of the bone it was melting in my mouth. My wife is a vegetarian and the food was built for vegetarians, most curry’s are just sauce. If you want a top grade curry then you have to try this place. Try it once and you won’t be disappointed.

We visited Akbar's during the evening time in April 2024. The food was great. We enjoyed all six options from the menu. Since we were not familiar with the variety of Asian foods, we asked a member of their staff (i.e. Kassim) to make some recommendations. He was patient, polite, and helpful. Thanks to his advice, we managed to try several dishes. Although we are not Asian, We would certainly go back. The only downside of the restaurant for us was the noise. It might not bother many people though.

Me and my family came. We were sat at a nice spot and then they moved us to the corner of the restaurant. The waiter ignored us the whole time and we had to wait 30 minutes for water. The lamb chops were raw and have given me and my family bad stomach aches. We have been several times before but yesterday was the last time. I don’t recommend.

The service was absolutely amazing. The waiter named Wajid was so good in his service. Very kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Just come back from a lovely meal. Excellent dessert recommendation from Kasim, all staff were friendly and super efficient. You can’t go wrong with a meal at Akbars….consistently excellent.

Lovely night out spot. Went there for my daughter birthday 🎂 celebration. We were attended by Kazim who was very helpful. Didn’t rush us in ordering. Have been there previously and the service haven’t changed and no service charge.

We stopped by after a concert at 11.50pm on our way to our hotel & they graciously let us in even though they closed at midnight. We had the charsi- so good, highly recommend and their mango lassi- exquisite

Absolutely lovely restaurant and meal! Kasim served us and was so helpful when we ordered and recommended a dish based on our preferences. The curry was flavourful and delicious. Portion sizes were good too. Very reasonable prices.

This place never ceases to amaze. Our waiter suggested a different curry to our normal Pathia. A Charsi. What a revelation. Wonderful. Made with fresh spices. Delicious and recommended. Akbar's is friendly with a great ambiance and staff. Superb for an evening meal, and recommended.
