Zauq Buffet in Birmingham

Disappointed with the Service at Zauq Restaurant I’ve been a regular visitor to Zauq for years because it’s a nice place, and the kids enjoy it. While the food has always been hit or miss—some dishes are good, but most are just average—we kept coming back because of the overall experience. However, last night was different. I was there with my wife and some guests, hoping for a pleasant evening, but the reception staff’s attitude was shockingly poor. The host and counter staff made us feel unwelcome, as if we were there for free food. No smiles, no courtesy—just a stiff, uninviting demeanor. What’s even worse is how one of them behaved towards me; I genuinely felt disrespected, almost like being treated as less than human. I didn’t want to ruin the night for my wife and guests, so I let it go in the moment, but this level of service is simply unacceptable. A restaurant isn’t just about food—it’s about hospitality, and if that’s missing, the whole experience falls apart. It’s disappointing because we’ve enjoyed coming here, but after last night, I think it’s time to look for another place for our family dinners. A simple smile and basic courtesy go a long way, and unfortunately, Zauq’s service seems to have forgotten that.

Decepcionado con el servicio en el restaurante Zauq He sido un visitante regular de Zauq durante años porque es un lugar agradable, y los niños lo disfrutan. Si bien la comida siempre ha sido golpeada o fallada — algunos platos son buenos, pero la mayoría son solo promedio — seguimos regresando debido a la experiencia general. Sin embargo, anoche fue diferente. Yo estaba allí con mi esposa y algunos invitados, con la esperanza de una noche agradable, pero la actitud del personal de recepción era terriblemente pobre. El anfitrión y el personal del mostrador nos hicieron sentir incómodos, como si estuviéramos allí para comida gratis. Sin sonrisas, sin cortesía, solo un comportamiento rígido y poco acogedor. Lo que es aún peor es cómo uno de ellos se comportó conmigo; realmente me sentí irrespetado, casi como si me trataran como menos que humano. No quería arruinar la noche para mi esposa e invitados, así que lo dejé pasar en el momento, pero este nivel de servicio es simplemente inaceptable. Un restaurante no se trata solo de comida, se trata de hospitalidad, y si eso falta, toda la experiencia se desmorona. Es decepcionante porque hemos disfrutado viniendo aquí, pero después de anoche, creo que es hora de buscar otro lugar para nuestras cenas familiares. Una simple sonrisa y una cortesía básica avanzan mucho, y desafortunadamente, el servicio de Zauq parece haberlo olvidado.

Don't waste your money on rushed restaurant with pathetic food,congested food space like its being served free,sugary water in the name of drinks,over oiled food and rushed to exit as early as possible. Rather throw money out of window than having junk going inside.

Very good food, Haleem and Nahari is very good. Brain masala was good too. All food was upto the mark.

i opened to see reviews about dishes.despite dishes only maryam and asma popping up in reviews.

The food was excelent but what surprised me was the hard work that the stuff do , specially Maryam and Asma , they are so friendly . Was a very busy day and even if were hundreds of people wanting and asking, they was smiling and kind . A very big thank you for the hard work goes aswell for the man that prepares the nudles . Thank you all .

My experience at zauqs is always the best thats why we keep coming back! Staff are attentive especially Maryam at the front desk, theres always a waiting time on a busy Saturday but the wait is worth it. I recommend the lamb chops as it is my favourite and the stir fry noodles they make are my kids favourite. Good variety of food and the atmosphere tops the experience!

Amazing Buffet Restaurant, always amazing food. Great variety and delicious too. The chef, Management and waiting staff are very helpful and friendly. You are made to feel like family and not customers. Great family environment. Thanks again Bhai Zarar. We have been coming here since the opening. The receptionist, Mariam, was really kind, and hardworking. We enjoyed the food and had a really fun time here at my sisters party!

First time in Zauq and it was an amazing experience but the downside is that at weekends it’s really busy like the waiting is almost an hour but staff is really friendly.

Special shoutout to maryam who greeted us at the reception with her lovely smile. Always a positive energy which sets the mood. On top of that the food was so fresh and tasty ! I will be returning soon inshallah. Best buffet in Birmingham!

The best Asian buffet in Birmingham, amazing variety of food which is always freshly prepared. Family and children friendly. Staff are also amazing specially “Safa” at the front desk who is very accommodating regardless how busy the place is, she’s very pleasant and professional. It’s a must try restaurant where I go very regularly and never been disappointed!

Zauq is the best buffet in town. The staff are professional and nice and the food is just too delicious. Mariam was also amazing in quickly ushering us in. I have already recommended to friends even before finishing. Hope to come with loved ones here again. Ciao!

We had an exceptional time at Zauq during our visit this half term. The team are so well organised, and kept us informed of the wait times etc. special shoutout to Safa who kept the crowd orderly and delivered a service with a smile, even through the stress of it all. Food was delicious and lots of variety. Cost was well worth it. Food topped up efficiently and did not run out. Would be happy to recomend and come again!

I won't even lie the people are very nice and all but the food isn't like the people bit bland because their is a lot of to cater for but the dessert is amazing so you can get full of something. The toilets are nasty as hell but the food areas are generally clean and the people are cleaning and accommodating very nicely.

Excellent service from our host Safa, who showed us to our table and made us feel welcome. Will be coming here again.

We visit for all our special occasions. The re is a big variety of food and a chance to taste rare curries like paya or kidney! Food is warm and tasty with even some things made fresh such as donner meat. Big variety of desserts too and small portions so you can try lots of different ones. Seats are comfy and atmosphere is nice. The staff are discrete and will pick up plates as you finish. The only issue I have had is have a very fussy 12 year old but am still charged £20 although he will eat only chips and ice cream as he is over 10.

We were served by Safa & Shama who were consumate professionals during a super busy period! We were made to feel welcome as always and the food was excellent! I never seen them become flustered with anyone or upset they were positive and enjoying their job at all times!! I would recommend Zauq everytime it's bham No1 buffet! Keep up the good work guys! 😎👍

One of the best buffets in Birmingham by far, me and family are regulars at this joint and has to be our go to place for a buffet as I’ve tried others and aren’t upto the standards of food like Zauq starcity great service and fabulous food.

Exceptional Buffet Experience – Delicious Food & Outstanding Service! I had an amazing experience at Zauq! The food selection was vast, fresh, and absolutely delicious, with something for everyone. Great selection of salad, luv the starters from fries to pizza, grills, bbq chicken, kebabs and chops. Flavourful mains cater for everyone. Namkeen gosht is my favourite. The service is amazing, attentive, friendly, and efficient staff. A special shoutout to Maryam at the front desk, who was incredibly welcoming and made the experience even better with her warm hospitality. Clean and well maintained environment, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. I highly recommend zauq and will definitely be returning!

Living in London for 33 years as a chef my self I have had not tasta so nice like Zauq in London we need a branch in London urgently because most of the Restaurants in London like spice village. Ect there food is crape I highly recommend people of London to visit Zaup in Birmingham for excellent service value for money super tasty food one should visit them 😋

We came in this evening family of 4 sadly the service & food has gone down hill massively from our previous visits here to the point we won’t be returning starters wernt to bad just full of oil not been drained properly but all the curry’s just seeping with oil I even saw a member staff walking around trying to spoon the oil out of alot of the meat curry’s (disgusting behaviour) place was a mess food over the floors no proper cleaning going on and staff with faces on like they have been dragged threw a bush some with trainers on that were a size to big not a professional appearance at all. I noticed the owner was there this evening all suited and booted if only you lifted the lids on the food and looked at it?? Would you eat this ?? No Please be advised that children aged over 10 are know also charged at adult rate of £20

Having been to zauq multiple times, I can honestly say it is the best buffet I've been to compared to others. Food is good, desserts are absolutely delicious. Although it can get busy and you have to wait for a table often, the staff try to squeeze you in as soon as possible. And the best thing about the place is that it has a prayer room for Muslims

Food was awful. The people who work there are hard working and good. The atmosphere is ridiculous, because the attitude of the people coming there towards others and the food is pathetic. These customers they do t care of cleanliness, they don't have no curtesy, and are selfish. You can't eat in a place like this. Will never come here again.
