Akash Tandoori in Worthing

If we are having a curry takeaway, we always choose Akash tandoori. Their curry flavours are fantastic, the food is fresh, the service is great and quick and it is priced just right. Also we don't get the 'curry belly' issues after their curries, which we do get at some other establishments! We went to pick up the food the last time we had it, instead of getting delivery, and were early so had a nice chat with the friendly family who work there, including their 8 year old. Highly recommended.

This restaurant cooked me the most beautiful Vegetable Biryiani meal twice this week. Absolutely stunningly fresh both times. Such courteous reception ladies and equally courteous chef's who came out to speak to me personally. Wonderful food and staff 5* quality. Highly recommended :)

Really poor experience tonight. Just got back from holiday this morning and fancied a curry tonight. I ordered food for the three of us for delivery at 7:30, and it initially turned up at 6:45, so I sent it back. We had a delivery around 7:30, but I immediately noticed the naan breads were missing, so I called to complain and was told they would be sent out within 5 minutes, which they were. When we started to dish up I noticed that we were missing one of the other side dishes we had ordered as well, so I phoned again and was told they would cook a fresh meal and send it out within 10 minutes. By this time my wife needed to eat, so started on her meal, and when the doorbell went I thought it must be the replacement meal….but no, it was just the delivery driver asking what the problem was. When the doorbell went again a little while later it was the owner, with just the side dish and a couple of extra naan breads, which we didn’t really need/want. By this time my mixed starter was completely soggy and unpleasant, and it really put me off the rest of my meal, so completely ruined the meal for me. Very poor and I think we’ll have to look for a new place to order from, which is a shame as we have been using Akash for many years.

I've just had a Chicken Tikka Korai and Rice and taste was amazing ! Only complaint is I can't move now as the portions are so big !!! Great place and friendly people

Sorry but it has to be said. The food was ordered on line for collection. First shock, charged 10p for a bag? Since when did a take away charge for the bag. Second shock 50p service charge. Not a lot but a sneaky way to increase the bill. Ready when I went to collect it and then see I should have had a 10% discount for collection as the order was over £20.00 before the addons. I really did not have the will to complain. On getting home (3 min walk) we find the whole meal apart from the naan was luke warm, verging on cold. The vegetable curry was tasteless and had no heat. We may try again, ordering on the phone in the hope it will be freshly made and hot

Moved to the area and was our first Indian takeaway to try. Food took 30 mins and we collected. We were given a free taster dish of sag aloo on top of our order too! We had ordered for 4 people but would have been enough food for 6! Big portions of delicious food. Each curry was very tasty and we were left very full and satisfied! Have to say we need to look no further for our new regular Indian takeaway! 10/10 would recommend to anyone in tarring!

Unplanned takeaway this evening. Not my usual Indian takeaway but very glad to have given Akash a try. I had the £14.95 special and it was amazing. Awesome flavour, chicken was moist and super tender. Great portion size. Will definitely give them my custom and try some of the other curries 5*

The worst service ever ordered at 5.57 and no delivery before 8.30 when queried the staff were so un helpful and when I requested a refund was told to contact yo-yo still paid no refund absolutely a terrible company and all they say is talk to my uncle 😩😩😩

The food is excellent had it not been stone cold by the time I ate it. I ordered for delivery at 18:30 as I was in the middle of plastering one of our rooms. The food arrived at 17:40, almost a whole hour early. By the time I finished the plastering the food was cold.

This takeaway is the worst Indian food we have ever eaten. The food had no flavour.

2nd bad meals from Akash. Was always our weekly favourite. Akash chicken special so salty was inedible, chicken tough, rubbery. Lamb vindaloo had no heat!! Had our usual lamb madras & garlic chilli chicken last week, both were not the usual standard, looked, tasted different, plus the pilau rice is not usual colour. Both times delivered late. Rang Akash, offered replacement next time, just wanted to ask what's happened not after refund etc. We suspect a change of chef, one who has lowered the standard of the food. Sadly next week we will be hunting for a new Indian.

Weekly regulars of Akash. However last 2 weeks have been awful. Last night Akash chicken special, rubbery & so salty was inedible, lamb vindaloo no heat!! Onion bhaji tasteless. Rang restaurant offered free dish next time, no thanks, just wanted to find out what's happened Last week had our usual garlic chilli tikka chicken, was different, not the same, lamb madras wasn't either, both lacked depth of flavour & chicken was tough. Colour of the pilau rice has changed too. Suspect a change of chef. Both weeks delivery was late. Is a real shame, but we work hard for our money & wont waste it on Akash again. Sorry guys but we will be searching for a new Indian next week.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Late delivery burnt and cold food and rude staff never use this place. You have been warned

We have used this curry house for a long time but tonight bit dissapointed not sure if staff have changed but not like it was no mint sauce and soggy poppadoms the only plus is well done we got the onion bajis this time !!

We’ve been in the area nearly 2 years and tried a fair few places in the vicinity. We always come back to Akash. Today, in the middle of lockdown, it’s no different. Food arrived piping hot and delicious!

We've been getting Curries regularly from Akash for around a year and we always find the quality really good. Yesterday we had a Sag chicken tikka which was also really good. Staff are really friendly as well Jamie

Ordered online, and food arrived in good time. Wish it hadn't. I've never eaten such a salty and poorly cooked meal. It made my wife sick, and we threw most of it into the dustbin. Over £40/- worth of complete and utter junk. If this is being passed off as Indian food, then I should report this bunch to the food standards agency! For a Tandoori Mixed grill, it didn't even come with the customary naan bread. Probably for the better. I for one, won't be ordering from this place ever again.

I’ve used this takeaway since 1985? Or so. When the original owner presided it was simple, good and very reasonably priced. In recent times it has had several owners , all of whom have been poor. I decided, today, to give it another go after an absence of at least 2 years. Ordered chicken Pathiia with boiled rice. Not too sure what cuisine they’re offering , but my dish, whilst edible, seemed to be nice chicken with a sweet and sour sauce with added chillis. Disappointed but fed. This outfit may be many things but an Indian/Bangladeshi/ Pakistani cuisine it ain’t

Wow what can I say not been well and really wanted curry they delivered but my most yummy onion baji missing within 10 minutes it was here with complementary poppadom thank you so much you care about and look after your customers your the best

This was by far the best takeaway I’ve had for a long time. Spicy madras with lots of meat and a superb keema Naan. Good value to and easy to use ordering on line.

Ordered a takeaway again from Akash and delivery was very quick and the food superb. The King Prawn Purée was great & as requested came with freshly chopped green chilli (sweet Prawns with a bite). Main courses were also great and all enjoyed. Order direct with them to get the 10% discount too.

This used to be our favourite Indian takeaway in Worthing but has changed so much recently. Food used to be flavoursome and vibrant but now bland. Don't know whether there's been a change of ownership or just the chef but it's not the place it used to be. Very disappointing

Have waited over 2 1/2 hours for our food, three phone calls told each time it's on it's way and still awaiting our food. Will not use again cancelled our order and awaiting a refund. Shocking service will not use again.

Fantastic curry shop in Worthing

Thought I’d try this one for change, what a mistake. Have been in the toilet ever since. Missing item and no cheese on a cheese naan also.

The rice, bhunna and dahl were great. The bhunna tasted like a watered down uncle bens, terrible.

All food was excellent, full of flavour

Quick delivery, food was ok, not hot, but ok to eat. I asked for mint sauce as a note on the order as I was unable to order it on just eat... No sauce came with the naan bread or popadoms!! So sides were dry.

Such a shame! I had an amazing meal from here last week and tonight's was such a disappointment. Ordered lamb jalfrazi but received a dish made up of tomatos, Rogan josh, lamb extremely tough, was tikka lamb so should have been marinated and softer but was not. Lamb tikka starter was very tough and chewy too. Naan bread was dry and definitely not fresh. Most of this meal went in the bin.

Good quality food, lovely flavour. Good timings given that it was valentines. They did forget our naan bread but we’re apologetic (put it down to valentines rush) and got it out to us quickly. Have ordered from them previously and they have never forgotten anything. Would recommend.

Ordered via their website - order not received so had to then order via the telephone. They then found the online order.

The curry and rice tasted lovely but the Garlic Naan let the meal down as it didn't taste of Garlic and was crispy not a nice soft dough.

Delivery time was quoted as shorter than I expected when ordering, then it turned up even sooner than that! The bhuna, we ordered was milder than expected but the taste was exquisite! All the other food was delicious, the starters, sides and mains all fantastic! not drowning in oil looks we often find from other Indian takeaways. I will definitely order from here again!

We often use Akash without issue. However the meal ordered 30th September had NO SPICES AT ALL. This was the case with all dishes ordered. Who knows what had happened. Had an Indian run out of chillies??!! Consequently we had a pretty tasteless Chicken Rogan Josh and Lamb Baygoni both which are supposed to be MEDIUM HOT. Perhaps AKASH can tell me what happened that night?? Very disappointing after having had some nice meals previously.

Delivery driver was incredibly rude, chatted on the phone whilst delivering, our order was £17.05 and we paid £20 in cash, to which the driver said he had no change and took the £20 anyway. Being on a tight budget this wasn't helpful... if we wanted to spend £20 on a takeaway we would have ordered more food as money is tight! On top of this he stated we had given him the incorrect codes for the door, however having checked, the code given was correct. He also said he had been walking around for half an hour yet failed to phone once. Lovely food, terrible delivery driver service.
