Just had the most amazing meal at La Indika. Definitely the best Indian restaurant The new owners have certainly upped the game with the quality of the food and brilliant service. Looking forward to our next visit to this amazing restaurant

We went in for a mid week meal, and had to most fantastic experience. Only recently moved to the area we have been checking out all the local restaurants. I understand that AKASH was recently taken over and the service and food was exceptional! Every mouthful was delicious, the kind of delicious when you are full and don't stop eating. Staff were very friendly and the ambience even on a quieter Wednesday night was good. We will definitely be coming back. I fear the pictures won't do it justice but the food was excellent.

I know a few people have asked for Indian food recommendations recently. We have just had a meal for 10 at the Akash and can’t recommend them highly enough. Amazing food at reasonable prices. A good selection of food including a substantial vegetarian menu (not just sides) and the fish curry was fantastic. The service was excellent, they helped us order the right number of sides and were quick with our drinks, very attentive. We will definitely be back again!

We have been going to the Akash since 1983 and were delighted to discover that the food is still first class under the new management. The menu features old favourites and a selection of interesting and tasty new dishes too. The staff were very friendly and welcoming when we arrived and throughout our visit. We will certainly be returning soon and highly recommend the restaurant to anyone who enjoys a good curry.

Everything about this restaurant was 5 star. The host was super friendly, the service was friendly, chatty and helpful. The food was phenomenol. The croquets devine! All of the flavours were sooo good. And it was a really nice atmosphere to dine in. Also felt the food was reasonably priced. Two starters, 1 main to share two deserts, plus two cocktails including service charge was £74. I will definitely be coming again.

Tried to get a table, in a restaurant with only two people in it, only to be told “we are fully booked”. Even the two people eating started making comments saying “ must be a party of ghosts in”. After visiting another restaurant we went passed Akash an hour later and still 75% of the tables where empty.

Booked last minute while visiting the area. Turned up slightly early and were seen to our seats with no problems. Popadums were lovely, my main course was king prawns but they delivered chicken tikka, not a problem as they took it back and the prawns turned up in a few minutes. Well worth the wait as the food tasted superb. The whole meal was lovely and the service was excellent. Would highly recommend!

We accidentally placed an order from BOLTON and cancelled the order 7 minutes after it was placed after was realised it was the wrong restaurant. The order was expected to be ready in 1hr 10 minutes. They originally agreed to a refund and told us that they hadn’t even started cooking it yet and would be another 30 minutes before they would even start. Then we received a phone call and said it was already made - 9 minutes after the order was placed and after we had been told it hadn’t even been cooked!!! The owners were rude, patronising and disgusting the way they spoke to me on the phone and refused to accept our cancellation. They tried to take a picture of someone else’s food and told it was our food despite the ticket saying it was to be collected over an hour and a half way! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE!!!!!! They are unbelievably unprofessional and penny grabbing! BELIEVE THE ONE STAR REVIEWS BECAUSE THEY ARE TRUE!!!!’

I can honestly say this is my favourite Indian restaurant I’ve been to. The food was absolutely amazing, the staff was quality, especially Ricky! Totally recommend Akash. Thanks so much Ricky and team for making our experience great!

Just visited and experienced a somewhat mixed feeling with this restaurant. On the whole the food was very good with the exception to a chicken tikka dish. The dish was very tasty except it was quite chewy - the ends were lovely and very tender. I asked the waiter as to whether it could be taken back and possibly be cooked a little longer. The manager returned and disputed that chicken was either chewy or undercooked. The manager then concluded the conversation by asking ‘ What do want me to do about it ?’ Somewhat aghast at his direct comment, not wanting to argue and embarrass my family, I then asked him to leave it on the table. Having just experienced lockdown one would question as to whether these guys really need the business

My wife placed an order last night for a curry takeaway through an Uber app around just after 7pm Our ordered was processed and on the app they've informed us what time the food will be arriving. Unfortunately the time was moved to a more later time of the night. My wife rang them twice and chasing where is our food. The people who were answering the phone doesn't had any clue nor they don't even know what to say apart from saying the food is on its way. After one hour food has finally arrived. We are so hungry and we are really looking forward to a great meal time together since it's our special day celebrating our 10th Anniversary. I think a simple apology and recognised the inconvenience that it has caused on us but nothing has said, because I believe that would make a big difference just to assured us when it comes what's going on. Don't pretend or assumed nothing is wrong where it is clearly the service was really poor. I do hope this would rectify for future services and take this on board to improved their quality of service. Having all said these, the food was so amazing and we really enjoyed it. We do both loved the carmelised buttered rice. The Naan bread was so delicious. Our both main meal the Bhuna beef and Chicken Tikka was so exquisite scrumptious.

Firstly, it's worth saying that the food was really nice - kudos to the chef. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. We waited almost an hour for food (we only ordered mains), followed by another 20 minutes between asking for the bill, and receiving it. Our table was also very close to the neighbouring one (the closest lady on the next table was definitely less than 1m away), and staff only wore masks intermittently, or incorrectly (pulled down round their neck in most cases), which made us feel a little uneasy. That said, the food was lovely, and they were doing a 50% off promotion. We heard several phone calls with disgruntled takeaway customers whilst we were there, so it seems they just committed to too many orders.

We went to this restaurant several times in the past, always getting a top service and amazing food. We are pleased to say nothing changed after the pandemic: the food is still of exceptional quality and it is always a delight to eat here.

My curry took over 1.5 hours to come and is cold, with one dish missing. Trying to call several times with no answer!!! Absolute disgrace!!!!!

I’ve been coming to the akash since I was born, we have never been let down but food has been delivered late on rare occasions when they were extremely busy. Understandable. Recently I have been exploring new dishes and each one I have tried has been delicious, thank you chef’s! Since the restaurant has been under new management, it has been much better hygiene wise and and been a lot cleaner and has a much nicer feel to it when you walk through the door, thanks you everyone who works here and I hope you do well in the far future!

My daughters birthday was celebrated at the Akash.First time visited after the refurbishment under Rickys management, we were greeted by a waitress with a very warm welcome.Starters were really nice especially the Pani puri street food again the street food chicken tava was delicious.Service was friendly and atmosphere was very busy.My daughter had a surprise cake brought out to the table to top it up a complimentary round of drinks, was a wonderful experience would definitely visit again. We have visited before, but last Friday we visited having booked a table for 8pm for 4 peopleArriving on time, the restaurant was full and our table still occupied, so we were parked at the busy Bar area for over 30minutesEventually our table was vacated by the previous customers.We had the usual Papadoms whilst choosing and ordered our food. Over ONE hour later at around 9.30our starters arrived...one of which was inedible (Tough Calamaris).Despite constant promises of main courses arriving in "2 minutes" from staff, the manager had conveniently disappeared.We did notice however that numerous "Takeaways" were leaving the premises during our wait.With no explanations or apologies, and still no food, at 10 pm we decided that a 2 hour wait was enough and we left.I have never done this before in my life. This totally ruined what was to be a special family evening, and was patently down to overbooking, overstretching and greed.WE WILL NEVER VISIT AGAIN.

Been going to Akash for many years, it is by far the best Indian restaurant in the Burnham and surrounding areas. Ever since Ricky has taken Over it’s improved even more, as not many Indian restaurant in the area do Indian street food. Great customer service, all staff are friendly. Went last night to collect a take away with my 5 year old daughter, and they gave myself a complimentary cobra, and also my daughter got a small sized lemonade while we waited and then was given another can and a hand full of chocolate for home with her meal. Can not rate this place enough.

I've been akash 20+yrs, since management has changed from Prince to his inadequate brother Rikki it has gone down hill, you really need to be good at this game for customers to benifit and that just hasn't happened with the new inexperienced management.

Ive been a regular customer at Akash for the last year. I feel compelled to write that their flavours are fanatastic and still going from strength to strength. In addition their customer service is first class. Enjoy

The Akash is one of three Indian restaurants in Burnham High Street, located at the bottom closest to Burnham Park. The restaurant itself was renovated fairly recently and now offers a relaxing atmosphere with seating interspersed with screens to give some privacy. The food too has been revamped. Still the same staples of Indian cuisine, but presentation is of a higher standard than the usual Indian restaurant. Our meals were served piping hot. My only gripe was my biriyani was a little bland, but I would definitely come back and try a spicier dish next time !

This had become the favourite local Indian restaurant. Food always good, staff friendly and always pretty busy too

We have an annual Lord’s Taverners cricket match at Bray and each year we ask the Akash to provide food for the players. This year was the first under the new team and they did not disappoint. Very tasty chicken tikka, gentle rice and excellent medium hot lamb curry where the meat melted on your fork. Hugely appreciated by the players and accompanied by their signature mango chutney. Thankyou. An excellent afternoon

I used to come here for many years before moving away a year ago. Came back tonight to see a beautifully refurbished restaurant, tantalising new menu and great service. And needless to day the food was incredible too. Fresh and delicate with good portions. Definitely going to make an excuse for the next trip back to Burnham. Pay a visit!!!

Its the 2nd time here for us and as with the first visit everything was excellent.

Tonight we had the best takeaway we have had in a long time. Bursting with flavours. All freshly cooked. Exceptional quality. Brought out to us by the chef. Staff were charming. Thank you.

This used to be a regular for us - eating in occasionally, but usually a takeaway; it was never less than good. Having moved away, we recently came back to the area and had our first takeaway since returning. Wow! It was superb - best ever from this restaurant, and one of the best curries we’ve ever had. The king prawns were huge and really tasty, naans were soft and perfectly cooked, but everything was superb. As an added bonus, the staff were super friendly and it was excellent value.

We came here for a birthday celebration a party of 9 they don't really decorate the table but I suppose it isn't compulsory (although if you have a birthday or celebration at unique spice they put balloons on table and provide a lovely cake for free) we ordered our food and drinks all came pretty fast.. Food was nice naan really tasty and fresh.. Not enough on the mixed grill for £13 was still hungry later.. Last time we came was given a voucher for £10 off of this voucher it says for 4 people only they did not want to honour the voucher they said they would discuss and find out with manager but didn't give us an answer just came with the bill we again asked and they said no it is for 4 people only we said well we will split the bill then between 4 3 and 2 separate bills they kept saying no we explained that we were given the voucher and told come back in the end they did honour it but was very off putting and ended the evening on a sour note we spent £200 in there but maybe not come again

Back to this place after a gap of at least 20 years so the last time I was here was at the end of a drunken pub crawl through all the pubs in the High Street: not the best time to review it!

Don't know what was wrong. But took ages to get the food. Food was sparce and luke warm. Mine went in the bin. £40 + down the drain..not normally like this...

After living here for 2 years we finally decided to give Akash a visit after the renovations.. we was not disappointed. Superb food, lovely ambiance and friendly staff

I went to this restaurant on my own and enjoyed my curry. I had a vegetable jalfrezi which was very well spiced and so large that I couldn't east it all. The nan bread, rice and papadums were also very good. This place exceeded my expectations and I will go back again.

I visited the Akash last night, it was my first time since it had been refurbished and I can honestly say it was the best Indian food I have ever tasted.. the red wine was good too!

Great food, friendly staff and an all round excellent experience. They’ve done the decor very well (especially the bubble screens). Most importantly - the food: excellent curries; different and more interesting choices than in your average high street Indian. Recommend!

Food was ok average not great. But the Portions are really small. Still hungry after our meal. Not value for money.

I normally order a takeaway from the Akash but this week my wife and I decided to eat at the restaurant. As always, the food was excellent but this coupled with a wonderful atmosphere and service with a smile made for a lovely evening.

Picked up take away from Akash tonight. My lamb Bhuna was luke warm and the blandest curry I have ever had and ordered keema rice and got pilal rice. When i rung back Ricky was very unhelpful and could of cared less if he tried and didn’t offer to rectify the situation. When I asked the correct rice could be delivered he said oh our drivers gone home. Won’t be visiting again!!

The best Indian meal I have had in a very long time.

Delicious food and fantastic, efficient service. Ricky, the owner is always attentive as ever and the food was fragrant and tasty as it always is. My Mum and I always come here when she comes to visit and everything was great as ever.

After visiting this restaurant for over 30 years tonight was the 1st time we have been here since the new takeover.

A truly superb meal with such a delicious taste, I could eat here every day, very smart surroundings which also create a very welcome place to visit time and again. Burnham is very lucky to have such a gem in the high street.

Our 2nd visit since the refurb (love the bubble lights), and didn't disappoint. Seekh Kebab and the best Samosa's for starters. Great fresh food from the street menu - the Chicken Tava was the best curry (nice and spicy). Lovely service, and we did not feel rushed (as can happen in other restaurants) with very friendly staff.

Ricky and the team out did themselves yet again. The service was 5 star and the food was stunning. Amazing flavours and very fresh. The restaurant is very welcoming and friendly. Wish the team all the best for 2019 we'll definitely be back very soon. *****

Heard about the recent refurb and was excited to give this place a go. My loyalties are with other local curry houses, however Akash has just seriously grabbed my attention. I just ordered through the website (which is really slick) and collected the takeaway which was ready in 20 mins. ALL of the food was delicious. The samosas were tasty and the Chicken Tikka Pathia is up there with the best currys I've ever had. My wife also really enjoyed her Paneer Korma. To add to this, none of the food was oily! Great work Akash. We will be back very soon.

The food was excellent and I would have rated it five but for the service, which needs a little finessing. Our group had eight different dishes, starters and main course, and all four of us were well pleased. At the prices you’d be hard pressed to find better.

I never believed this place could improve but since they completed thier refurbishment, new management and new menu all I can say is WOW!!! The food is the highest quality with a modern twist, includes halloumi for example. Food cooked fresh, traditional meals but addition of street food adds a whole new dynamic. There is no similar quality Indian anywhere nearby and I doubt even Brick Lane or the curry mile can offer better and I have tried many. Really reasonable prices too. Thank you for a great service and a whole new level of delicious food.

Have been visiting the Akash for many years and have always loved it, last Friday's meal for the whole family was no exception. Food was fabulous and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would like to mention a gentleman called Ash in particular - one of our party is Vegan and finds that difficult when eating out, however Ash was knowledgeable and helpful and her meal was lovely! We really felt our visit could not have been better and would absolutely recommend the Akash to anyone. Thank you!

We have been going to the Akash every couple of months for the last 35 years. We went on the Friday before the restaurant closed for refurbishment and found the owner very subdued. We went again after it re-opened and found that there had also been a complete change of management, staff and menu. We were put on a table next to one of the new glass partitions with bubbles rising through water - which was very distracting. We thought we would try some of the new dishes, but the slow-cooked Kolkata lamb was just a mush tasting neither of lamb nor spices. When the waiter came to take payment by card, he misread a "3" on the bill as an "8" - it may have been only 50p more, but it was sloppy.

Firstly, at the weekend we ordered a large take away for a family dinnner, which we have several times of year, the take away was first class, we had a mixture of traditional and some of the new dishes, all were excellent, there were no missing items, in fact a few extras such as popadoms and chuntneys.Thank you.very impressive.

Having suggested we eat here it was great to have such a lovely meal. Staff were extremely informative helping us choose our food and were very polite and courteous. Will be returning again very soon.

We have been regulars at the Akash for many years and we were eager to check out the reburbished Akash. Suffice to say we were very impressed. Great décor, with lovely references to India and Bangladesh. The new menu contains all the classics, plus lots of new dishes including street food. We all tried something new from both the starters and the mains and we all had a fabulous meal. Can't wait to go back!

I have been eating at the Akash for 35 years so wasn't quote sure what to expect when a change of management have the place a total makeover.

Been visiting this restaurant for years and it was getting abit dated but now a new management and staff along with a new menu has lifted the Akash in to the top Indian restaurant in Burnham and I recommend to all who wants to go out for a curry or Indian street food.definitely going again!

I always went to this restaurant minimum once a month, the food was awesome and the service was excellent but I was very disappointed on my last visit on Wednesday 24 Oct where I wanted to treat my daughter to a nice Indian meal. I was surprised to see there was a new refurbishment which looked nice but there was a new team serving which appeared to be all over the place despite it wasn't that busy. They had new plates and new cutlery, the food was extremely disappointing, tasteless, poor and the portion was half of what it used to be. I am really disappointed I shan't be returning. What a shame.

Tried this gem of restaurant in burnham very busy lucky we booked a table , we were greeted by a waitress, newly refurbished very stylish decor , menu was very different not the usual indian.

We have been regulars at the Akash for many years and the food has always been good, but in the last few years the ambience and decor had become very tired and dreary....the newly reburbished Akash under the management of the lovely Ricky has transformed our Akash back to the best Indian restaurant in town...the menu is exciting with lots of different dishes including ..street food..also the wine list is much improved ....the food is still very good if not better than before....lovely friendly staff ...looking forward to our next visit very soon...

After a change of management and a refurbishment we were keen to try out the Akash. Very glad we did as it was amazing. The whole look of the restaurant is inviting and classy. The décor has been well thought out and there are many references to the Indian culture and history which are charming and interesting. Staff were welcoming and attentive and happy to tell us about the new dishes on the menu. Attention to detail was second to none. The new owner Ricky came to our table and introduced himself and told us all about the new menu and the inspiration behind it which was lovely. Great menu, incorporating traditional and new dishes made it hard to decide. We chose a lamb chop starter and Mumbai chicken roti which were incredible. Mains of Naga lamb and the tandoori bazaar feast were equally as good. My partner does not eat prawns but they gladly replaced the m for some extra meat. We ordered a side of phaal sauce which was made especially for us, and chips which were not on the menu but also were made for us. Naan breads were delicious and the best thing of all was the Indian mashed potato. A must have side dish! We were given a complimentary drink at the end which rounded off an incredible dining experience. Thank you Ricky and your team and we wish you all the best in your new venture. We will definitely return!

Visited on a Monday so not sure if the A team were off but it was disappointing, especially after their refurb, we were there nearly two hours for a starter (well poppadoms) and a main, we were sat next to one of those water feature walls so think my bladder felt fuller than it really was, the guy who seated us did ask us if that table was ok and not having been there since the installation of the water walls didn’t realise it would be an issue. Would decline it in the future as the noise is also a little distracting.

Have just returned from a birthday meal here and have mixed feelings. The place has indeed been refurbed and looks the part however the service on a Monday evening was lacking. We were there over an hour and had still only had a poppadum. Main courses arrived around an hour after ordering and that was after us having to ask a member of staff if we could order to begin with. Food when it eventually arrived was lovely, we tried the street chicken curry. The toilet lock on the ladies loo was broken making it very difficult to use! Would I return ..... probably not.

Wow! It was amazing. Halloumi Tava was so so good! Best curry I’ve ever had. Food is super fresh, not oily and the restaurant looks fab inside. Will eat in next time! Highly recommended.

went last night 25th September after booking for myself and my German friend who was over on business and has like me has been to the Akash many times in the past. We were greeted by the new manager Rikki and his team. They were very friendly and as its only been re-opened for 1 day, I can honestly say the food was on a par or even better than before. The menu is fantastic and diverse and they now offer delivery on orders over £14.00 and 10 per cent discount on collections. Good luck to Rikki and I will definitely been visiting again really soon and will be ordering deliveries as this was never an option before. When you go have a look at the Water Features - you won't miss them - fantastic and the refurb is very authentic, clean and smart and modern. The team looked very smart in matching uniforms which tied in with the new Marketing and Menus.

As a “curry brummy”, I’m used to the real deal when it comes to curries. Based on reviews here we gave it a go and glad we did. Excellent starters of prawn purée and sheer kebab, and although the wheels were very small they were very flavourful. Wouldn’t have them again bough at the price. The two mains were perfect, opting for the house curry and a mild dish for my partner. Very nicely cooked with tender chicken. I’d recommend this place without hesitation. Ali gave good service and some free Baileys at the end too.

Ate her last night in a party of four. A while since we ate here last and it was really very good.

Gourmet Indian food, excellent service, quaint atmosphere and super friendly owner. This is the first restaurant I ate in after moving from Canada. Showed me what authentic curry is all about. Great drinks too!

Just back from first meal at Akash this evening what a joy Extremely helpful staff at this family run restaurant very well presented food and very tasty food already looking forward to taking the family to have a nice large family gathering

Ate here yesterday with a group of mates and realise that we have discovered a hidden gem in the Burnham hills. The restaurant is plainly decorated and looks basic but the food and service are excellent. If you are into your beers try the Bangladeshi bottled beer. Prices are very good so the bill was surprisingly low.

Great Indian cuisine cooked to you liking if you choose to be specific, including being happy to leave the ghee glaze off the tandoori or tikka dishes for those watching their weight! Friendly service at table or for take away, nothing is too much trouble. I don’t ever have a bad tummy after eating here - not something I can say about all Indian restaurants I have tried!

Akash is one of three Indian restaurants in Burnham , located on the right as you reach the bottom of the High Street. We visited in a Sunday evening and the place was deserted. The decor is fairly typical and service friendly. Overall however, all of the meals we ordered were rather bland. OK, but I think I'll stick with Peppers further up the High Street.

Fabulous choice of dishes on the menu. Each dish that came was generous compared to other Indian restaurants. The garlic Naan bread was enormous! I tasted quite a few dishes which were all nice. The vegetable curry wasn't very curry-ish, if you get my meaning, but it was all very tasty anyway.
