I only ever order from here but tonight wasn’t great! The naan was rock solid, poppadoms stale, and the bhuna was tasteless. It’s such a shame as it’s normally excellent.

Was so disappointed. Food was so bad, it ended up in the bin & we got fish n chips. It is safe to say we won’t be returning customers

The food use to be excellent, but something changed. The Tandoor is brilliant, but the curry is acidic, sour and very bland, and you will get a stomach upset. Something changed. I hope they can get it back on track, this takeaway used to be the go-to.

One of the best Indian Curry's I have eaten in a very long time!!

I've been ordering from AK Spices for a while and it has usually been excellent. However, over the last few weeks the food quality has dropped. The lamb in the lamb tikka jalfrezi is much fattier then it used to be, and that is affecting the overall flavour, imo.

First time ordering as worked our cheaper then our usual place! Neve again… food cold, and both myself and husband have been up all night vominting!!!

korma was nice but the prawn curry was really watery and i expected big prawns but got 15 tiny ones not great and was a bit tasteless

Placed order through just eat and they rejected blaming the just eat?? But called them offered me 10% discount when on app they offer 30%? How strange called restaurant happy to take order but give me 10% . Absolutely a joke of restaurant, person who text me to show my order was not received, buy my bank shows payment taken.. would not trust these persons as definite not telling truth, now I have to wait for refund. Sent them screen shot off order but even that they not accepting, so I recommend not to use as they don't want to honour what they state on app which I'm sure is what they should under the consumer act??

Ordered through just eat. 30% off and paid too bank account shows debit too. Once Ordered they reject, then call them to be told not received so I sent screenshot off my order details. So customer lies wow... Now Ordered through same app, accepted so strange they say just eat issue? Another lie.. well if you order from here be wary, as really they don't care about customers who use apps they sign up to or honour what they promote on these apps. Really am disappointed with just the basic service I wanted, to be called a liar and seen pending payment from bank to them too. Never will I use them again and want all to be wary clear photo off receipt to show customer never lies for management to understand

food was disgusting, this is the worst curry i have ever had, naan breads were horrible dry and tasteless, no seasoning no herbs, very bland, chicken with all dishes was dry and old, the tandoori chicken did not taste the same as it should, it taste like it come out of a bin and smelled funny, madras was not a madras, pilau rice was bland. a complete waste of money.... no wonder you are offering 40% off. i will never buy from here again and will never recommended this place to my worst enemy

I had a problem this evening, but nothing to do with AK Spices. I ordered through Deliveroo and their rider collected my order. It usually arrives about 5 minutes after it leaves the restaurant. I got a call from the restaurant to say that they were concerned because the food had been handed over to the Deliveroo rider 10 minutes ago, and another Deliveroo rider arrived at the restaurant to collect it. While trying to contact Deliveroo to discuss it, I got a notification that the order had been cancelled, and refunded. I certainly did not cancel it and I'm sure that the restaurant didn't, either. I placed the same order through JustEat, and it arrived very quickly. Although it arrived late, that definitely wasn't the fault of A K Spices, and was absolutely delicious. Thank you AK Spices for the great communication, excellent food, and quick rectification of a problem that wasn't your fault. I hope that you're not out of pocket for a problem that was totally down to Deliveroo.

Barley was any meat in my portion two small pieces the rest it’s just hot sauce

What a superb takeaway we just enjoyed! Chicken tikka Dhansak was spicy and thick, the lamb biriani deliciously fragrant and flavoursome. Paired with sag aloo and garlic naan, with the addition of a lovely onion salad and poppadoms, hit the spot perfectly! Definitely one to try if you fancy a tasty curry delivered quickly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Food normally good however, delivery should take 1 hour they confirm, it typically takes 2 hours with them telling you the driver will be there any minute and never comes, when the food arrives, its obviously cold

Pleasantly surprised at swift delivery and a reasonable price. Very pleasant guy delivered piping hot food. King prawn puree and tandoori chicken was the best I've tasted for years. Briyani was delicious. Chicken Tikka masala very very delicious. The curries and naan were also very good. Will definitely be back.

Not long ago this was one of the best take away in Hemel ....NOT ANY MORE ...UNFORTUNATELY. Take away box was feel half way through...we only got 1 bag of cut onion but order 3 meals...not long ago was one for every birjani. We order 3 x chicken birjani and found two small pice of chicken in each box ...I guess they cutting edges to save money ...we definitely won't be ordering again.

Surprisingly underrated. Hidden gem. Ordered Chicken Tikka and Prawn curry. Came within 45 minutes. One of the best curry's I've had. Great food!!

Apart from the onion bhaji, which were floury/powdery inside the food was delicious. Normally receive a free chutney but didnt get this time.

AK spices takeaway have been brilliant! The food is top class. I ordered a chicken korma, a chicken tikka vindaloo, saag with meat, saag paneer and naans. Food was spicy which is how I wanted it. I had initially gone to another establishment and I waited over 30 minutes to order so left.. I have tried AK Spices three times now and their food is top notch!

Food was absolutely delicious, can't fault it

Disappointing. Popadums didn’t taste fresh, very small mint sauce pots, no lettuce with the Sheek kebab, Vindaloo tasted a bit sour and was spicer than a normal vindaloo. Sag paneer quite bland with only 4 chunks of cheese. Delivery on time and food was hot on a plus note.

I have used these for years, they always had the right amount of spice, now...I can't eat it...its too hot I paid £7.20 for mixed starters that wasn't enough for a child, but I'm glad as was ridiculously hot..I'm so disappointed, after all the years of buying from them, I will now have to go elsewhere, and this is the 3rd time..not once...

Food wasn't very hot. Lamb was very chewy. No poppadoms, we didn't order them but was given all the dips so don't understand why or why no poppadoms with them. First time I've been disappointed but not the last time I'll order as they're usually excellent

Not as nice as it usually is. Saag aloo was horrible and tikka masala watery.

Food warm and delivered quickly (JustEat) pizza was greasy and base nit fresh. Spaghetti was greasy and not tasty. The nicest part were the BBQ chicken wings which were very fresh and moist with good flavour. Wouldn't order from here again as low quality overall.

Excellent service and really tasty food. I've been coming here for years. Dishes always have great flavour. Menu has some really good options. Highly recommended

Food was delivered hot and on time, a good wait for food but friday nights are always going to be busy. However they sent prawn Korai instead of the Paneer Korai I ordered A bit disappointing, luckily I don't have a shellfish allergy! JustEat sorted a refund right away. To be fair the veg korma was beautiful as always.

Very disappointed with every aspect especially delivery time. Food was some sort of ok but the Butter Chicken was horrible. Definetly not the Indian way more Bangladeshi style. Please adjust your advertisement that you do Bangladeshi food not Indian. Because if this misguide the Butter Chicken was not enjoyable at all. Also you would be better off by informing customer that food is arriving late. If I didn't rang up I wouldn't even know when delivery is coming. A lot of work to be done!!
