Agogos in Welwyn Hatfield

We have been ordering from yourselfs for years and the change to boxes with rice is shocking we ordered 4 different variations and were so disappointed, no sauce very little meat, the jerk chicken was so dry. We ended up with so much rice it filled 3 boxes so total from 4 meals one plastic tub of meat, spent £70 on the last order and frankly feel like we have been robbed. Shocking and a real shame because was always our go to takeaway and spent fortunes over the years with you

AGOGOS is 10/10. The food is fantastic, on the level of home cooked food. I'm a really big fan of the jerk chicken. I never had any delivery problems and the food always arrived really hot. Service is really great, I've never had a takeway go above and beyond like AGOGOS did. All in all, highly reccomend!!

Would never buy from here ever again. Food was tasteless,under seasoned and meat to hard. . Plantin left horrible taste in mouth as wasn't ripe enough! . Never again complete disappointment.

Ordered through Just Eat in a good amount of time before the restaurant closed. Waited an hour for the food to arrive and when it hadn’t I checked the app for an update only to find out that the order had been cancelled. What a complete waste of time and frankly extremely poor attitude to customers. Why bother putting a specific closing time if you’re going to cancel orders way before that time?

Loved the jerk and curry goat and recommend it highly, looking forward to trying the other options on the menu! Thanks guys

Never again. Horrible worst take away I have ever had. Worse goat curry I've ever tried. Never again. manager should try his own food Take away rice n peas was cold goat curry mostly bones I have them here if you'd like to see. Bones with no meat on at all. No reason for them to be in the curry.. disappointed. How would anyone be happy to receive that. If you put a cold can next to a warm meal it will makecthevmeal cold and the drink warm! And a curry has more than meat n bones surely??

Someone else might like it but it’s most nastiest food I’ve had in my life, kmt about Caribbean, fake Jamaican, idk the rest of the reviews must be fake cos this is disgusting.Don’t advertise urself as a Caribbean restaurant if it’s not.I ordered curry chicken and rice and peas, they used the thick rice, no coconut milk, the rice wasn’t even pink, idek if there was kidney beans. The chicken just has a bunch of random seasonings on it, and was too fatty. Could have done a better job in my yard. I was so disappointed but true say this is Hertfordshire.

This is the worst takeaway I've ever had. The J rice tasted of nothing. The oxtail I ordered I swimming in oil and the chicken tasted funny. The only edible thing I could eat was the mac and cheese. Very disappointing!!!

Ordered food for my family after a long day and was excited to tuck into some curry goat, rice and peas, jerk chicken and jollof but I was highly disappointed. The jollof didn’t have flavour, the curry goat wasn’t soft or curried just oily, rice and peas average and jerk chicken One piece of chicken for £6.50 that wasn’t jerk and 5 slices of plantain for £2.50. The portions are really small, I was surprised. Maybe it was like this because we ordered late at night I’m not sure but I wouldn’t order again.

Honestly the pricing is not worth it even with the discount I had. The J rice was a bland type of chilli rather than tasty, the mac and cheese and jerk chicken were mediocre. It does not live up to the standard of how these dishes are traditionally made. Plantain was okay. I came to Hatfield as a student, and was very excited to see that there was a place here that cooked this cuisine, however after trying it i’m sorry to say I am highly disappointed.

I just love these guys, good food, fair pricing, I haven't been able to dine in at their establishment due to their opening times, however all my Friends who have been able to dine-in, have nothing but positive reviews. ordering their food online is a delight, once again I just love these guys, give them a try, I recommend getting the Curry goat,and the white rice.

I order a delivery from Agogo’s every few weeks after finding them a few months ago and have yet to be even remotely disappointed. The flavours are incredible and the portions are great, the customer service is absolutely excellent and the pricing is very reasonable. The jerk sauce is absolutely to die for and I genuinely can’t eat jerk anywhere else since trying Agogo’s as none of them live up to it! I cannot recommend this place enough, I’ve worked my way through almost the entire menu and everything is delicious; I have a mild obsession with the patties as well as the jerk sauce. I consider Agogo’s to be one of the best things to happen to Hertfordshire in a very long time! If the staff are reading this, please never change! 👏🏽

Just ordered Jerk Chicken, Rice and Peas, Oxtail, Plantain, a lamb patty and coleslaw from here and to say the quality is shocking is an understatement. The jerk chicken was the poorest quality of chicken meat I’ve ever paid for in a takeaway. a “small” leg and a measly side with barely any meat on it and for some reason it had what looked and tasted like ketchup on it, it certainly wasn’t any jerk sauce I’ve ever eaten before, and I eat a lot of Caribbean food. As for the Oxtail,all I can say is flavourless and under-cooked.The worst I’ve EVER had. The plantain potion was small. And the coleslaw was nothing to write home about. The lamb patty was the same as every other lamb patty because they are generally all made by Island Delight and bought in. This place sells Jolof rice so my guess is it’s actually an African place trying to do Caribbean food but fails miserably on all levels. You couldn’t pay me to eat from this company again and given that the above cost £27 I wouldn’t bother spending your money there either as you’ll be sorely disappointed.

Very disappointed, Oxtail curry was flavourless and tough with no gravy, just oil in the tub. The Jerk chicken(if you can call it that!!) had one poor quality breast and one leg. There appeared to be an extremely small amount of sauce, guessing tomato sauce with a few ingredients to disguise it; this did not work which was lazy to say the least. No dumplings on the menu, this food was nothing like real Caribbean food! I highly recommend you don’t waste your money!!

I was the worst take away I have ever tried. Rice and peas smiling rotten, dry. Bbq wings tasteless, jerky wings OMG old, OMG it was the worst experience with Caribbean food.

Order was late but customer service was great when I called and asked about it - (polite staff). Also worth the wait as food was nice and hot and good quality. Although my plantain I ordered was missed out hence the four stars. A lot better food in comparison to another place I ordered from in the same town. Wish I had tried agogos a lot earlier!

Ordered from here several times and it's great. Proper home cooking. The goat curry is delicious, jolof rice is spot on, jerk chicken also pretty good (although sweats a bit in the containers). Portion sizes are decent & hope they can keep the prices reasonable as it's fair for what you get atm. Nice people too, nothing less than 5 stars.

Warning unless you want to be an addict I surgest you eat else we’re Costomer service is second to none I am very fussy but nothing is ever to much trouble and as for the food I’m an addict can’t help myself just keep going back for the jerk burger with my own twist as I say no trouble for them they always go the extra mile to keep customers happy

Food 10/10, Service 11/10. Not much else to say, our fam of 5 had an amazing time! I'd recommend the mac n cheese, and the chicken dippers, ooo and the CB burger, and the jollof actually, ooo and the coleslaw in fact, and the oxtail, and the jerk chicken, mmm and the chips.

My colleague and I ordered just now.....we ordered curry goat rice and peas. The meat was literally swimming in oil! See the attached photo....this is just the oil I managed to pour off And there was loads of sharp bone shards. I'm not convinced it's goat either. Possibly mutton? I've no idea. This is literally the worst curry 'goat' I've ever tasted.

Lovely food we had oxtail , curry goat, rice n peas , plantain , mac n cheese & colslaw oh yes all was on point I loved there mac n cheese 🧀 aswell but I will say the colslaw it's delicious jus a bit over priced for our liking but over all I recommend going to give it a go if u haven't.

All the food I’ve tried is really good, cooked and seasoned to perfection but the Mac and cheese is extremely good, best one in Hatfield.

Great food and great service! I for one love the spice level and am happy there’s a place nearby that I can get wings that actually pack a punch. If you don’t like things spicy I’d stick with the ox tail or goat curries, I found those to be a bit more mild 💕

The owner is very friendly and they serve one of the best burgers and fries freshly made surely try it out.

Very appetizing and mouth watering food. Tasty chips and apple crumble. The main meals are delicious and the service is fantastic. take away only but it's worth every penny.

Customer service was very good. The food was lovely and I recommend others try some food from this place. Some bits were a bit too spicy for me, however the flavours definitely hit the spot and we enjoyed our meal. Would definitely order/visit again :-)

As an Albanian I never had african/carribean food. I decided to try it and it was definitely worth it . The food was 10/10 quality and the taste was thereeee. Was also halal. Anyone thinking about trying it don’t hesitate

Im sorry, however u cant label your rice jollof rice, it simply did not look like normal jollof and it was not tasty at all( could not taste any curry powder, tomato puree, tomatoes or simple seasoning such as Maggie cubes) overall it was lacking a lot . This is coming from a Ghanaian man so i would know.

Nothing less than 5 stars for this place and the guys who run it. They are the friendliest, most hard working people who clearly take pride in their business. They treat every customer like family which is why this is my go to when I'm in hertfordshire. The food is always on point and they have set the bar for not just Caribbean food, but every food place in Hatfield!

First time I have ordered Caribbean since moving to hatfield two years ago as just used to drive down and get it from my (now old) regular place in north london. Staff/owners friendly and helpful and food was pushing 11/10 Definitely be ordering again and recommending to others!! Thanks guys

I am so happy that I order today . Amazing food, hot,on time and really friendly guy on the phone. Like I said on just eat second time when I had goat curry but definitely this was the best curry I had. Just had the fried chicken now.....wow !!!! Really you are my favourite takeaway from now on! Really good portions as well. Not oily, soft meat and the rice was amazing. A bit expensive the can of coke and I asked to be called when is outside but the delivery driver looked delicious so yes I would definitely recommend it! I

I don't usually leave reviews but i really felt like some curried goat so i had to order some. The guy gave me a call and said they're cooking a new batch which will take a while but he could get me some curried chicken or ox tail instead. Never had ox tail so i asked can you give me chicken in some curry goat sauce instead? He thought it was a bit weird and we had a laugh and then it arrived and that was one of the best meals i've ever had in my life no joke. Amazing friendly service and gorgeous food, you can tell it was made by someone who loves what they do and is good at it too.

I don’t usually write reviews but having got used to such average tepid food from most takeaways I’m happy to report this was FAR BETTER. Ordered on Xmas Eve, came very quickly and super tasty. I ordered the jerk chicken with jollof rice and jerk chicken wings. Played it safe but shall definitely be order from here again and trying out the goat. Highly recommend!

I have ordered from here a handful of times, food and service has always been great. Had a slight issue with my order tonight but after a phone call with the restaurant all was resolved and far beyond my expectations. The staff member I delt with was a credit to the restaurant!

Small complaint - the food came with a serious delay. I've not seen a mention of that in previous reviews to I assume it was a glitch. Called me twice about the progress so all good. Food came at a perfect serving temperature and was very good, though. Jerk Chicken was super-tasty. Goat curry was decent. Probably my first do can't compare, but meat coming off the bone nicely:) Portions are more than generous! Added a photo since there aren't many available (don't judge the set up - was super hungry!)

The guys running this place have a great business and are delivering great food! I have never been so disappointed. The oxtail was dry! NO GRAVY, NO SEASONING, JUST DRY! (All purpose season is 79p.) They literally just fried it. HOW DO YOU MAKE OXTAIL DRY? Rice and Peas, the PEAS were significantly under done. Jerk chicken was burnt. I am so glad I did not pay for it. It's such a shame. To say that you serve Caribbean food is just lie. There is nothing Caribbean about that. I suggest you buy a slow cooker or actually hire someone that is capable of cooking Jerk chicken and Oxtail, the way it should be done What shocks me is when they have 5/6* review (the power of promoting) and asking your friends to do review i guess. For service maybe, but for the quality of food they produce that RATING is an OVER exaggeration DO BETTER you just become another African store

Hatfield’s hidden gem! 2nd time ordering wanting to try all the dishes. Jerk chicken tender and succulent,full of flavour and a slight kick, cooked to perfection meat just falls off the bone. Jerk wings as above. Curry goat wow so tasty and the flavours just stay in your mouth, meat is tender and falls off the bone and again cooked to perfection, great portion size too. JRice one of the best I’ve ever had, every grain is full of yummy flavours. Service is the best I’ve received from Hatfield so far by any food establishment, order take was polite and professional and friendly and updated me on order status when it was leaving shop/ very nice touch so I knew when to expect it. Delivery driver what a diamond of a gentleman-never had a delivery driver so polite and friendly-read my order back to me, great smile and just had a can do attitude! Best food establishment in Hatfield by miles! Highly recommend *****

Popped by the store after hearing such great reviews from some friends, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! The staff were extremely friendly and the food was more than exceptional. I’ve been craving it ever since and can’t wait for my next visit.
