AGA Mezze Palace in Glasgow City

Able to book and receive confirmation email but it’s no longer open - looks open on website and booking system- it’s not, save yourself the disappointment and book elsewhere

Booked a table for Saturday evening. However when we turned up the place was closed!!!! I wish they would have informed us that the restaurant wasn't open as we struggled to find another restaurant.

Cuando llegó la comida estábamos en el cielo, absolutamente hermosa. Teníamos entre nosotros, halloumi, pollo kofte, pollo shish y cordero moussaka. También nos dieron un plato de verduras en escabeche con aceitunas y pan turco a la llegada. Realmente deseo que Ahmet anuncie más, ya que definitivamente es una joya que no debe perderse, esperamos nuestra próxima visita.

Esta fue mi primera vez en Glasgow y decidimos ir aquí ya que estaba cerca. El restaurante estaba vacío y solo había 2 personas que creo que eran el dueño y la camarera. El restaurante está absolutamente helado y tienes que quedarte con la chaqueta puesta. La comida tardó aproximadamente 1 hora y media en llegar y nos dieron mucha y solo queríamos volver al hotel. Después de permanecer allí durante 10 minutos, me di cuenta de que cometimos un gran error al llegar allí. La comida es decente, pero el servicio, el ambiente y la espera es terrible. Ciertamente nunca volvería.

La oferta de las 5 pm de 2 cursos de pre - teatro para 6. 99 parecía un valor excepcional a primera vista. Mi esposa y yo fuimos recibidos por una camarera bastante tímida y nos llevaron a una cabina romántica encantadora. El restaurante es amplio y parece haber un área de actuación para bailarinas del vientre. A tres mesas de nosotros había una mujer con su abrigo y bufanda, además de un sombrero de lana. Deberíamos haber hecho una ramita. La comida era muy buena y en porciones generosas. Antes de ordenar nuestro entrante, la camarera trajo un pan turco encantador y verduras en escabeche. Los entrantes fueron buenos. Los platos principales eran excelentes y venían con un gran tazón de ensalada inesperado. Mis koftes de cordero estaban deliciosos, no pude terminar mi comida. Nos dieron un deleite turco con la factura. Entonces, el dueño es más que generoso con su comida. Lamentablemente, él es un flaco con la comodidad del cliente. Esta noche era en Glasgow a finales de diciembre y no había calefacción en el restaurante. Nada CERO. Había un radiador de calefacción central al lado de nuestra mesa, pero hacía frío de piedra. ¡En Glasgow a finales de diciembre! Al igual que la señora de tres mesas, tuve que comer mi cena envuelta en mi chaqueta de supervivencia Regata. Los dientes de mi esposa estaban castañeando y ella solo quería comer e ir a un lugar cálido para tomar un café. Obviamente, esto resta valor a los puestos de comida romántica. Solo puedo suponer que la gerencia tiene un desafío mental al pensar que la mayoría de sus clientes querrían comer su comida en un restaurante de Glasgow sin calefacción en pleno invierno. ¿Invitaría a amigos a cenar a mi casa en Glasgow a mediados de invierno con la calefacción apagada? Por supuesto no. Nuestra comida en Aga Mezze Palace fue memorable, pero lamentablemente por las razones equivocadas. En 45 años de matrimonio, es la comida más fría que hemos tenido. Entonces, 4 estrellas por la comida, pero cero estrellas por la total falta de comodidad en una helada noche de diciembre. No es divertido tener que cenar en una chaqueta de supervivencia. La joven camarera estaba desesperada y no notó la temperatura fría que sufrían los comensales.

My girlfriend and I dropped in for a 2 course pre-theatre meal before going to see We Will Rock You, this was our 2nd visit here and although we were the only people in the food was fantastic and very filling for under £18 which included a soft drink for each of us, fantastic value for money. It’s a diamond in the rough and so easy to find, up the steps at Buchanan Street subway and it’s on the right at the top of the road. Well worth a visit, the owner was a lovely guy and very welcoming, we’ll definitely be back 👍

My husband and I visited here for dinner tonight on a 5pm deal. The food and staff were amazing and the staff bend over backwards to help. We will definitely be back

Went on a Saturday night when a party was on. Music a bit loud. However don’t lose sight of excellent, tasty food. Well served by a very attentive and pleasant server. Really nice menu with lots of options. Will be back.

Aga is a superb place to meet- my son and I hosted a small business meeting there in July 2019. I was the only one of the group who had been there before. The food was all prepared to order and we were very impressed. Excellent value for money, extremely handy for the bus and train. Two weeks later I did it all again with other clients and they were equally impressed.

Firstly couldn't get through on phone to book,tried for 2xdays and continually went to voicemail Eventually went in and booked for Friday 12.30 lunch. This was a bit of a problem as waitress kept saying 2pm As advertised as being open at 12.00 noon could understand what issue was. Food amazing, more flies than i would have liked, too many cobwebs in ladies the ladies. Overall food great, service good, music annoying, restaurant needs makeover in general, but don’t let that put you off.

Went here for a deal on Groupon and it was really good value. All the food we had was good and nothing to complain about at all. If I was going to go back here I would go on a weekday with a Groupon. Weekends look much better with entertainment.
