African Base Restaurant in Rushcliffe

On arrival, told to sit anywhere. 45 mins passed before even being asked about drinks. Had to ask for menus and seemed most things “weren’t available”. The food that “was ready” still took another 45 mins to arrive, with zero communication until then. Decent portion sizes, fairly well presented. However, the whole tray was just dropped on our table while the staff wandered off to laugh with their friends. A little while later the barmaid came to (literally) chuck some cutlery on the table, along with some dirty looks. Literally treated like we weren’t welcome. Staff mostly disappeared, and we had to follow them around to ask for the bill. The barmaid seemed to think the place/her job was beneath her. Scowling and sucking her teeth upon being asked if we could pay. Bill didn’t reflect the prices on the menu, she threw the card machine at us then wandered off again to take a phone call. Waited for a receipt to print but nothing happened (and she wasn’t around to ask for one) so checked on the card machine and there were various options for getting a receipt. Started typing my email address as it asked for, at which point she returned and got mad? For some reason? Asked what the hell I thought I was doing and when I said the machine asked me for my email for receipt she barked that I could have just asked her for one (how could I when she wasn’t there?!). I was taken aback and apologised, but she sucked her teeth again and rolled her eyes, really scowling! Like wth was her problem? Everything else could be overlooked, but that woman just ruins the place completely. Never going there again.

Food was soggy so not nice. Will not be ordering again. This was delivered and it wasn't presentable at all. Waste of money!

If you go to they Google page you will see how AWFUL they are. Customers service is terrible,the food can up 2 hoursto come if it comes, the manager doesn't even acknowledge you or apologise. Honestly avoid this place at cost.Theres is a much better place in Alfreton road african restaurant, good food and better service. AFRICAN BASE IS S***T

Muy buen lugar y muy buena comida. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar. También tiene un personal muy agradable con un bar arriba y abajo.
