Addison Arms in Huntingdonshire

Called in for lunch and was told they are not serving food at the moment, no explanation given even after I asked if they only did food in the evening. Had a drink and some peanuts and left, won't bother again.

Had a visit to The Addison Arms to pick up a Bad Wolf Burger order. The pub itself seemed a little dated and it was very quiet, we expected it to be a bit busier on a Saturday night. We were greeted in a warm manner and had a chat with a customer while we waited for our food order which didn’t take too long. The burgers were delicious, we had the Big Bad Wolf, Maryland and a New Yorker. The beef patties were huge and very tasty, the side of chips were also nice. Unfortunately the onion rings were a bit disappointing. But overall a really nice meal and we will definitely be back. If you haven’t tried them yet it’s definitely worth a visit.

Visited for the first time with my partner. Large car park with easy access. Lovely historical building. Warm and inviting. Staff very friendly. We eat out regularly and so have a good understanding of value and standards expected. This pub exceeded them all. The food was delicious and the homemade mushroom soup can only be described as SPECIAL. Highly recommended A+++.

Fantastic food and a cracking pint of Guinness

I believe this pub has recently started to serve Indian food, we had booked a table sometime ago so personally I was a little disappointed we would not be eating pub food as such. I chose the chicken shashlick and was quite surprised it did not arrive in a dish still sizzling with juicy chicken and onions etc, as I always have this dish in other Indian restaurants. Instead the chicken was dry & overcooked and is most probably the same chicken used in all their dishes, I may be wrong but it seemed like that to me. There was enough for me but felt the portion size was small. Such a shame and I am sorry to leave a negative review regarding the food. However on a positive note, there was a great atmosphere and the staff were all lovely and very efficient.

The character has been ripped from this building, there are cheap tables and chairs everywhere similar to a transport cafe or works canteen... we won't visit again no atmosphere...

Popped in to the Addison Arms for the first time and was delighted by this gem of a place. A lovely friendly pub serving proper real ale and a fantastic curry based restaurant as well. We had a delicious meal in a truly magical place. Cant wait to go back for a second sitting.

Called in here to meet a friend been here a few times and it's been ok, we ordered malibu and lemonade which was served in completely the wrong glass, a beer which tasted like the pipes hadn't been cleaned...also a tonic water also in the wrong glass eg a large wine glass ...no ice and flat lemonade...we also tried a small merlot spritz which was also completely flat served in a large wine glass filled to the top costing over £12...unfortunately this will be our last visit

what a shame lovely old world pub that have been doing traditional english food for many years now just Indian food.

Had been frozen all day on a very long walk - 24 miles. Firstly a local welcomed us into the pub when we walked in. The bar staff and owner were friendly and helpful. Local beer very good. Will definitely come again. Lots of chats with people.

Wonderful setting, beautiful food and lovely staff! This is definitely a little gem and now our favourite! Decent range of starters and main meals and good portions. Didn’t manage a dessert as we ate too much with the first two courses.

Friendly staff & lovely curry meal

Four of us, all pensioners, had lunch here. It was the first time we had been back since their refurbishment. The dining room was light and airy. The menu was quite comprehensive, our waitress attentive, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal (we all chose different mains). We will certainly go back.

Turned up on a Sunday afternoon around 14:00 (also called beforehand to make sure they were still serving food, which they were - until 15:00). Sat at a table outside and was then told they've run out of pretty much all food. The only food we were able to order was a bowl of chips and a fish finger kids meal. We were then told there would be a 45 minute wait. Funnily enough, we saw a couple pretty much dying of old age waiting for their food before we left, no idea how long they'd been there but I'd suggest a very long time. Seems they honour their take out customers before local customers. Won't be going back here again. Shame, as it has the potential to be a lovely pub but ruined by lack of food and poor service.

Really good family pub. Very positive atmosphere and good food. Staff really friendly. At the end the owner offered to everybody in the pub a cheers with a shot of cinnamon whiskey... very nice

We ordered a homemade lasagna & garlic bread & homemade pie with chips & gravy delivered to our home. It was a real treat in these difficult times. Lovely & hot & in my opinion the best lasagna I've had. My husband found the pie excellent too.

Clean and tidy old-fashioned pub, with correspondingly generous portions of well cooked and sensibly priced pub fayre.

Highly recommend the pies (chicken and mushroom today), also the belly pork off the specials menu - both excellent. Beer was good and a decent selection of wine by the glass. Glatton is lucky to have such a good pub within the village. My wife is on a keto diet for T2 diabetes; they knew what keto was and accommodated here brilliantly.

Visited for a lunchtime catch up with a mate, we both had the burger from the lunchtime menu and were pleasantly pleased with it, great taste and well cooked. The chunky fries and coleslaw accompanying were also great Upon initial arrival the exterior doesn’t look amazing, but the hospitality and food was excellent, can recommend

Friendly pub, seemed to be lots of locals in. Barmaid brought the drinks over to our table. Selection of real ales and a nice choice of red wne. Went for the pork - really nice, served with 'proper' crackling and a good selection of veg - thoroughly recommended

Lovely food, lovely lady pub landlord and huge but georgous woofer

Extremely cold, not much choice behind the bar or on the menu, young male waiter was lovely and attentive as was the lady behind the bar, Although the young blonde girl made us feel unwelcome and spent most of the evening sat doing nothing when, in my opinion, there was cleaning that could be done behind the bar. Only 3 different customers for a Saturday night and 4 members of staff seen, music was loud and the whole place has a cold feeling. Decor is empty and outdated. Food was ok though!

On the way back from Cambridge to Peterborough we decided to google places to eat. The Addison Arms was one that came up. A fantastic choice I must say. Quiet country pub. The staff were very attentive. The food was faultless. We had Wild mushroom soup and garlic mushrooms as starters. Ribs and Beef as mains. I am no restaurant critic but it was cooked perfectly for us both. Thank you. We shall return.

Stopped on a Saturday evening on the way back from London, party of 4, we were made to feel very welcome and shown to a table straight away even though we hadn’t booked in. The menu is very reasonably priced and has a good variety. We ordered and the food arrived in good time I ordered the pie..... it was actually a proper pie and very nice too! Others in the group ordered burgers and braised beef both were very good. Lovely village pub

Absolutely lovely meal. Our starters were really good, the roast dinner was amazing, lots of vegetables, with broccoli cheese, perfect crispy roast potatoes and the beef was cooked to perfection. The service was fantastic, every table was full, great choice of beers and the Sauvignon was perfect. We will definitely be back!

Lovely food, slowest service ever, incredibly long wait between courses - on more than one occasion as well so not a one off which is a shame.

Have eaten here twice in past few months and generally pleased, good food (with a vegan choice - my eldest is vegan - chef/owner even came out to pass over receipt details) and fair pricing. Recommend.

I insisted on going to the Addison when visiting my parents from York as I’ve always had great memories of the pub. I’ve tried to be balanced with my review! On arrival we didn’t really know where we were going to our table but there wasn’t any particular warmth to how we were greeted by the staff. I felt very uncomfortable having my 2 and 5 year old with me and were reminded that children weren’t allowed at the bar (which I understand is the law) and then that if my children went on the play equipment the management couldn’t take any responsibility for any injuries (which again I know but I don’t need a disclaimer!)

We needed to find a last minute half-way point to meet up with friends for dinner and were lucky enough to find The Addison Arms on TA.

Lovely village pub with very friendly staff and owners. We had Sunday lunch there today and the food was first class. Our children wanted to play in the fab play area outside but it was raining. Our first time there and we will defo be back. Very reasonable priced too. Thanks for looking after us. See you soon 😁

We had a very disappointing visit.

To be frank I didn't like this pub. Cant say why, just felt it in my water so to speak.

We stopped off for a sandwich and a drink we were made very welcome. The food, pservice and hospitality we're perfect.

My wife and I went again for lunch on the occasion of our wedding anniversary and ass usual we were not disappointed. The young lady who served us was very friendly and as usual the food was superb. I can recommend the meatball pasta bake, my wife loved the pie of the day. All freshly made and that includes the desserts. No basic ‘pub grub’ here. Hang on the your chef.

My friends and i was recommended this place by a friend who said the food was amazing, I have to to agree wether you are vegetarian,fish lover or meat lover it was all there for you, my wife hsd the pate for started all homemade, i had the salmon fishcakes amazing, then I had beef bisket in an amazing sauce, fresh seasonal veg and horseradish mash bloody amazing, wife had morrocan lamb tegine also brillant, then we shared a crumble all homemade just spot on, we will definitely come back again with the family, also family friendly if you have a little one with enclosed fenced garden and play area was reallt impressed,staff and landlady really welcoming nothing to much if asked, thank you for a perfect evening.

A few saturdays ago, me and my friend visited this restaurant, and i must say i’m not too impressed. We were overwhelmed by the smell of smoke in the pub and coming off the staff. We did not feel comfortable eating knowing the staff have been smoking just before serving and cooking our meal. The meal was ok. We were impressed with the options but not blown away with the quality of food. If you are not phased by the aroma of cigarette smoke, this would be perfect for you. However i do not think i will be returning.

Made a call to book a table late afternoon, welcomed at 6.30 which was ideal for us. We both had trouble choosing as too many things we wanted to try, ended up with Camembert starter which was lovely, then beef bourginon and shredded beef wellington both from the specials board. White chocolate and raspberry cheesecake and cinnamon spiced apple and pear crumble for dessert both enjoyable and we would choose again. Highly recommend this village pub for an enjoyable home coked meal.

Party of five for a celebration and they made way for us. Quick ordering and drinks obtained. Family chatting in good surrounding with lots of happy people. Food came just as ordered and it was hot and well presented and colourful. The taste was just as Mum makes it! Brilliant. Well done guys - we need to come back and soon.

Had lunch at pub several weeks ago when enquired about nut roast for Sunday lunch was informed it is available every Sunday.

I booked a 70th birthday Sunday Lunch for fifteen guests. The staff were very welcoming and the quality and choice of food on the Sunday Lunch menu was excellent. This is a well run establishment where all the staff are very attentive, but unobtrusive. Thank you for making our day go so well. - our friends and family were very impressed.

In the last couple of years this pub has changed hands and as a result the experience has significantly improved. From arrival at the bar the staff are friendly and welcoming. The choice of menu is very good for a small establishment. The girls serving the table are very pleasant and give very good table service. The meals have been consistently good during our visits over the last year. Quality and value has not failed to impress. For real ale drinkers there are usually at least 3 to chose from and Prosecco is available in small bottles for the ladies. Could not fault this pub, thanks to the publicans.

Was recommended to try this venue from a work colleague who has frequently eaten here herself as she lives nearby. After having a delicious Sunday lunch we decided to book for an evening meal for hubby's birthday. With me having Coeliac disease I enquired as to what their gluten free choices were whereupon the most helpful waiter went into kitchen and reappeared with a freshly printed off menu which he said the chef had done for me highlighting the gluten free choices (photo attached), I was amazed at so many choices. We all had a lovely family meal for hubby's birthday, the only negative point was that I found the restaurant area slightly on the chilly side but it didn't spoil the evening for us (it is an old building I suppose).
