Sublime! Exceeding scrumptious food!

Had the most remarkable Lunch at Adams last year and we are heading back again next week. Superb restaurant, from the front of house team to the obviously talented chefs. It was great to meet Adam too. All too often you go to Michelin starred restaurants and you don’t see the owner. WELL WORTH A VISIT!!

A true gem in the dining world! A place I have had the privilege of experiencing multiple times and each time improving on perfection! Talking on my last visit I must say this is a epicentre in not only the midlands but also the UK that all food and wine lovers must attend. We enjoyed the Chefs Table along with Wine pairings and it truly was an amazing experience. Every piece of food so thoughtfully made within eyesight and explained by the accompanying chef. Wonderfully enjoyed beyond words, needs to be eaten to believe. Each course served with a perfectly matched wine from the truly knowledgeable Sommelier with a knowledge base far reaching every question asked! The kitchen staff themselves being an amazing team working together in a fluid atmosphere with the real life day to day, and the amazing teamwork to create the most amazing food all under the eye of Chef Adam. A true great.

Second week in Birmingham so I thought I would try Adams having so enjoyed the other 1* Michelin last week (Simpsons). Rather disappointing I am afraid and the comparison didn't help. The dining room is featureless and modern and given the paucity of guests had little atmosphere. Staff took time to warm up but in fact proved warm and knowledgeable. I chose the a la carte which was more like a 3 course tasting menu. Portion sizes for an a la carte were too small: this no longer cuts it in 2025! Quail starter read well and was relatively tasty but the promised confit leg was not included. Felt more like an amuse bouche than a starter. Brill with the first of the white season asparagus was a delicious main but the size of the fish screamed portion control. The pudding, a coconut souffle was delicious alongside a rice pudding. This was the absolute highlight of the meal. Wine list traditional and with the added benefit of not charging service charge on wines. Good choice by the glass and excellent wine service. However why not consider elevating the stemware to zalto rather than the mixed bag here? Overall a pleasant night out but not one of the better Michelin stars, it clings on to the rating I would suggest and the passion is no longer there.

I had the privilege of experiencing an unforgettable chef table tasting menu. Each dish was a symphony of flavours and textures, but the duck liver was the showstopper. It was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, a true revelation for my palate. The chef's artistry was evident in every detail, from the plating to the innovative ingredient combinations. A truly memorable dining experience.

What an experience! From a warm welcome into a beautiful restaurant, to expert friendly and efficient servers who knew every course and drink served, and the food! How exquisite! Every bite was full of flavour and imagination, with the style of presentation you’d expect and hope for, only exceeded and simply sublime! We paired our taster 7 with the pairing wine, and our sommelier was an absolute delight who not only talked us through each glass, but also built up a brilliant rapport and had us laughing with each visit. It was my husbands birthday and so I had requested some little extras, and they went above and beyond with the beautiful touches that made the night somehow even more special- and let’s not forget the incredible barman, who gave us a delightful conversation to round off our evening. There was nothing not to love, we were sad to leave, and we cannot wait to return.

We came to Adams for my birthday with my husband and four year old daughter. We last came here for our 2nd wedding anniversary many years ago. The food and service was just incredible! I am so so pleased that Adams is so family friendly. The staff made a fuss of our daughter and she absolutely loved her experience there. It can be hard to find fine dining places that are so welcoming to children. We will come again!

Fue invitado a la mesa del chef aquí por mi cumpleaños por mi compañero. No puedo hablar lo suficiente de este lugar. He tenido la suerte de experimentar muchas mesas de chef en algunos increíbles restaurantes MS'd. Esto tiene que estar ahí arriba con mis favoritos. Bebida rápida en el bar antes de bajar a la mesa de chefs. Con solo 4 de nosotros en la mesa de chefs, tuvimos un miembro dedicado del personal que nos cuida. Un recorrido por la cocina antes del almuerzo fue informativo y perspicaz. Panes y canapés precedieron al más exquisito menú degustación de 9 platos. Destacaron para mí los platos Halibut, Codorniz, hígado de pato y Venado. Pero todos definitivamente dieron en el blanco. Muy, muy recomendable.

Last Saturday me and my husband returned to Adam’s after 5 years. We were celebrating my 40th birthday and we chosen Chef’s table experience -7 tasting menu with the wine paring Option 2 (which supposed to be the higher standard) Unfortunately this was the most disappointed we have been (Michelin star tasting menu we ever had) with both the food and wine. Let’s start with wine flight the quality of wine didn’t seem good enough for the price 🤷‍♀️ and trust me my husband knows about wine.. Some of the flavours in the food not as good , nothing wowed us at all. A couple of dish were good (and by good I mean tasty but nothing amazing) : quail and venison were best- but quite poor presentation , the look could be definitely improved.. I checked some previous reviews and I was surprised i found out the same dish were presented much better in the past as per other people photos 🤷‍♀️ why is that (photos no 1 and 2 ) Couple of dish we felt the off balance for example one of the snack oyster emulsion was far too salty And the very last dish - Chef’s extras - sticky toffee pudding - a disaster- over sweetened to the point of madness.. that makes you feel sick - did not finish. Another Chef’s extras- rabbit - was another disaster - looked like fish finger .. taste was weird we did not even know what we actually eating if I wasn’t told it’s rabbit I would wonder what I am actually having in my mouth 😬 Most of dish was like warm at best. Another thing the stuff who was explaining the food seems to rush it , it was also difficult to understand what they were saying spoke too quietly and quick. When sauce was poured to accompany duck liver dish I was concerned about its delivery .. definitely more class and attention would have been appreciated. Both the sweets were uninspiring, but ok we expected better .. Service was ok but not incredible.. when the waitress was putting the cutlery on the table in front of my husband one of the knifes flew away and landed on his knees 😅 I was waiting quite a while for my water to be topped up and needed to ask for it, few times empty wine glasses were just in front waiting to be taken away.. while we had new glasses poured already. Little things really, but counts.. Sommelier was good tho. £800 later and we came out thinking the experience was really average , and it is such a shame as we remembered this place as much better. We were far from blown away which you kind of expect when pay such a money and have fine dining in a Michelin star restaurant that has been there for quite a while …

My wife and I went to Adam's for lunch to celebrate our anniversary. We had the 7 course tasting menu. The ambience, the service and the food were absolutely phenomenal. We thoroughly enjoyed very bit of it. I can't recommend it enough to anyone wanting to have a fabulous restaurant experience! Upon our request they had arranged for halal lamb with a sauce unlike any sauce I've ever tasted! Simply out of the world!! Can't wait to be back! All the staff was amazing and explained the menu and ingredients in lovely detail too.

Went on fancy date night with the other half. Over all was great end to end experience for fine dining. Bill was little over £400, so there really needs superb all around experience, which fell a bit short. (Bit of noise in the restaurant and had different servers for the night and couldn’t hear some of them as they were describing the dish) 4.5/5 for me, purely due to cost vs. Experience ratio. Would go back under the right circumstances.

10 out 10 experience. Flawless food and service. We came here for a tasting lunch and couldn't fault a thing. I just wish I wasn't driving and could have experienced the matching wines! Obviously this experience is not cheap, but I couldn't recommend more highly for a special occasion. Special callout for the special additions to the 5 course tasting menu. The little treats before and after the courses were sensational!

We really loved it here. The food was excellent. Some of the chefs that came to explain their dishes could have spoken a bit slower and taken a bit more time to explain. They go so fast spmetimes you hardly get to actually understand what they are saying. We had a nice tour in the kitchen. Again, it was a bit rushed. Would have liked more insight. However all in all we had an amazing night. One more comment; I would say its a little bit too expensive for what you get. If i was comparing it with Opheem for example.

Sí sentí que la opción de maridaje de vinos era cara. Conocí personal encantador. Richard de Leicestershire, un tipo encantador tan amable. Luego estaba PJ muy agradable y el encantador Nobin Varghies. Él era tan amable y extremadamente eficiente como los demás. Gracias también a samalier de España. De vuelta a casa en corcho con recuerdos encantadores. Oh, casi me olvido del encantador Finn brillante

A fantastic atmosphere and a very good service and food. The wine flight is superbly matched to the food and provides some I testing and wonderful pairings. Highly recommend, though expensive, even by Michelin stared restaurant standards. On the whole, worth the expense.

Wow, what can I say? We went on a Saturday lunchtime for the Adams tasting menu, seated at the chef's table down in the kitchen. A totally new experience for us, never been to a Michelin-starred restaurant before, a blow-out treat for our 30th anniversary. It was FABULOUS - that's the only word that justifies it. Really friendly atmosphere, no snobbery whatsoever, staff very attentive but not overpoweringly so - just right. I lost count of how many courses we had - about 14 I think! - each was very small but was an absolute explosion of flavour, exquisitely presented & paired beautifully with a wine selected by their Sommelier. Really nice touch that each of the chefs came and explained to us all about their dish, very clear that the restaurant is passionate about developing their staff and their skills. Honestly could not fault a single thing and would recommend it without a seconds hesitation, in particular being seated down at the chef's table.

Take it from someone who will go to his 20th Michelin ⭐ restaurant tomorrow night, this is at the summit of all the 1* ones I've been to. The plating is incredible, everything works and this is a must return restaurant especially when the menu changes. These photos should tempt anyone, detail on point and if these don't tempt you, nothing will.

We attended at lunchtime, booking for my partner’s 40th. We were greeted warmly, and the service was exemplar from start to finish. The cocktails were delicious, as were the mocktails. The starting snacks were next level, especially the Parmesan crisp with mushroom mousse! The tasting 7 menu really wowed, the quail with smoked cashew, the halibut, and the venison were real standout dishes, but the blackberry dessert was next level - the word for that dessert is “exquisite”! We felt honoured to be the first to try the new dessert too! An extra nod of gratuity for being so careful about my shellfish allergy too, it is so appreciated. Thank you for an incredible afternoon - we have left full up and not stopped revelling in the experience since getting home.

Over priced, maitre d rather rude and condescending. Our money is just as good as anyone, we don't buy expensive clothes but can afford just as much as anyone else, we felt judged as 2 successful business owners on our clothes. Experience has put us off other tasting menus by probably better chefs. Didn't like the fact 12.5% automatically added to bill as a service charge. Overall a bad experience.

Tuesday night fine dining. The atmosphere is light and still enough space between tables for the conversation to be intimate. The food was divine. Many small tasting courses with the accompanying wine flight, my favourites included a parmesan cannelloni, a beef gravy ball and an amazing mushroom and bacon sauce over a scallop. I felt a little pressured from both waiting staff and the somellier to move quickly between courses, however, after expressing my concerns the staff could not have been more accommodating and apologetic. Great night.

I was down in Birmingham for the test match This was a wonderful place to begin You are warmly welcomed to this airy and well appointed restaurant I chose the a la carte which was delicious All my dietaries were meticulously observed I will not spoil the surprises but safe to see from amuse bouche to the delectable chocolate souffle This was a brilliant experience I would highly recommend this The food,wine and service were faultless

Our first experience with a Michelin star restaurant and we absolutely loved it! The tasting menu was full of things we would normally try but they were amazing. Presentation was top notch and the staff was lovely. Enjoyed our evening so much and definitely would recommend

Great food, great experience, great service - highly recommend!!!

I very rarely write reviews. I also view them with caution as generally people use them as a way to vent rather than praise. However I did feel I needed to write on this occasion. The food was generally on par with what to expect from a Michelin star restaurant. Unfortunately though the atmosphere and service we found was very impersonal. On more than one occasion we had to ask for a drink as we sat there with empty glasses. Towards the end of the service we almost felt a little forgotten. Tucked in the back enclave we felt a little out of the loop despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. These may seem trivial issues but when you receive a bill of £470.00 it recentres you to think that this should have been a experience that stayed with us for a while. We generally do this kind of evening on special occasions and have visited all the similar restaurants in the area and have generally been "Wowed" by the service and food. On this occasion however this was not our experience and we wouldn't return.

Second time here and the menu and experience delivered again. Our table of 3 included a pescatarian and a Vegan and they tailored the food and wine pairing perfectly.

It’s been quite some time since I have been to a restaurant where it was faultless. This was it. Service and food excellent. Plenty of choice too. There are a few things I don’t eat and I had notified the restaurant when booking. They produced a menu for personally for me taking this in to account. I’ll be back

Visited on a weeknight with my wife as a Birthday celebration. From the moment we walked in and were greeted, we experienced service of the highest level. From the two exquisitely dressed gentlemen that saw us to our table, ensuring we were comfortably seated, to the lady that helped serve our dishes. Each plate was exceptionally well presented. The food itself transcended a “normal” dining experience. Each dish brought different taste sensations to the palate; we were quite often mouthing “wow” across the table. The dishes and ingredients were explained in detail upon arrival which demonstrated that all staff were well versed as far as the menu was concerned. Course after course after course, each one a culinary masterpiece. Kudos to your chefs and kitchen. This was a top tier dining experience that I would highly recommend to friends and family.

I cannot recommend Adam's restaurant highly enough! It wasn't our first time in Adam's, but it was the first time in years, after we moved out of Birmingham six years ago and came back recently. We had fond memories from our previous visits, and we were happy to see that nothing has changed in terms of quality of food, service and overall experience. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing, obviously it's not cheap, but the experience is worth the price! Everything was excellent, I cannot think of a dish that I liked the most because each one of them was special - wild bass, scallops, quail with prawns, halibut, beef, were all amazing, with interesting and surprising side pairings that added to the complexity of each dish, and wonderfully paired wine that complimented the food. The service is impeccable, very professional but friendly and approachable, so you can feel being cared for on every step. We are going back, and I would recommend to anyone to do the same!

Having dined here on two occasions quite a while ago, my experiences at Adam’s Michelin starred restaurant were quite mixed. The service was impeccable, setting a high standard from the moment I walked in. The food itself was a creative masterpiece, and looked beautiful on the plate, especially the desserts, which were both delicious and decadent. However, the restaurant fell short in a few areas. Firstly, in my opinion it wasn’t very accommodating for vegetarians or vegans and I wouldn’t recommend it if you are, as the menu options may be limited for those dietary preferences. Secondly, the decor lacked the modern or classic elegance expected of such an establishment, feeling more office like. Lastly, the portion sizes left something to be desired, as I left feeling less than fully satisfied on both occassions. Overall, while the quality and creativity were commendable, I'm not personally in a rush to return anytime soon.

I visited Adams yesterday (23rd April) with my wife for our Anniversary. We had the 7 course tasting menu. Wow. Just wow. What an incredible experience. We were taken on a journey with interesting, exciting dishes. The wine list is incredible, and Seb's knowledge of the wine is second to none. His recommendations were perfect. The service is the best that we have ever experienced. What a place. It comes with a price that you would expect, but you really are getting something that is second-to-none. We enjoyed every single minute and every bite. Thank you!

Bold flavours, artful presentation and amazing service! The chef is unafraid to experiment with tastes that ensures your buds are in for an unforgettable ride. The service has to be mentioned especially where the priority is a satisfied and happy customer. If you have dietary restrictions they are willing to try and cater to your needs. Definitely a jewel in the Birmingham restaurant scene!

While Adam's may tout itself as a Michelin-starred establishment, my recent dining experience left much to be desired. From the moment we stepped through the door, the atmosphere felt stale and lacking in any semblance of warmth or character. The décor was uninspired, resembling more of a corporate office lobby than a fine dining establishment. The service was equally disappointing. Our waiter seemed disinterested and rushed, providing minimal explanation of the menu and displaying little knowledge or passion for the food being served. Throughout the evening, we felt neglected and overlooked, with long waits between courses and an overall lack of attentiveness from the staff. As for the food itself, it failed to live up to the lofty expectations set by its Michelin star. While some dishes showed promise in terms of creativity and presentation, the execution fell flat. Flavours were often muted and uninspiring, with overly complicated combinations that failed to harmonize on the palate. Ingredients appeared to be of decent quality, but were overshadowed by poor cooking techniques and misguided flavour pairings. In summary, Adam's may have a prestigious reputation, but my dining experience left me thoroughly unimpressed. From the lacklustre atmosphere to the mediocre service and underwhelming food, it failed to deliver on its promise of a memorable fine dining experience. Save your money and seek out a restaurant that truly deserves its accolades. :(

We went for lunch in January and had a fantastic meal. The snacks and little deserts are always delightful at these kinds of restaurants and they were delicious here. Every course was wonderfully well presented and the flavours and textures were amazing. The staff were really nice. Personable and friendly, making it more relaxed and not too starchy and formal. Would definitely recommend.

Food sublime, so many layers of flavour and texture, a real delight. Highly recommend the menu. Generally, the service was as expected, very knowledgable about the dishes and efficiently provided. However, during one course, the waitress leaned across my meal whilst I was still eating to take my side plate. I felt very uncomfortable and my space somewhat violated. Then at the end of the meal, we waited over half an hour to a) get the bill despite asking twice and then b) get someone to take the payment. Overall, I would say I hope this was an unusual experience as everything else appeared very well rehearsed and on point.

Hair in my food not once but twice and on the second occasion told it is just a cloth fibre as if it made it a little bit more acceptable one of the waiters had a bad attitude and the amount of leaning over our plates and not to mention the time we sat around 3-4 hours because staff seemed stressed and unsure what to do music was awful and the food was not very nice left feeling as though we had been robbed

We went for our wedding anniversary and was not dissapointed. From the service to the food, the experience was brilliant. We went for the 7 course tasting meal, as we do not eat certain foods, we requested our dietary needs which they catered for. As I stated we were coming for our anniversary, the sent me a special menu where you can purchase balloons, flowers or cakes, which was a lovely touch, the wife was pleased when the flowers came out. Of course, being a Michelin star resturant, the food was delicious, I would defo recommend coming.

We have been visiting Adams for 9 years once a year and this was the first year we sat at the chefs table , the entire evening was perfect , well presented great food and wine overlooking the kitchen was a additional fantastic experience. We had an amazing meal, could not falt it in any way. Service was impeccable and friendly as well, would certainly recommend it.

A truly excellent experience. The service staff were attentive and friendly. The food was beautifully prepared. A few particular favorites (if I have to choose) were the Potato Tart, warm Sourdough Bread, Ginger Trout, Bream, Skate on the Bone and the Apple Sorbet on the Brauburn Apple.

As ever, a great culinary experience. We did had the seven course taster with wine. OK, it cost an arm and a leg but iw was worth it.

Arrived to two sauce bottles congealed with gunk. Gave to manageress who replaced 3 mealsRed but just wiped top of brown. Undoing brown still congealed inside. Sausages tough, tomatoes cold mushrooms cold and how they forgot a breakfast is unbelievable. Ordered 3 meals. Mum had to wait because they weren't organised. DONT GO HERE

Dec 23 Absolutely knock out service, couldn't fault a thing. Perfect attention to detail. Taster menu sublime, especially the rabbit and rum baba courses. Dined here last evening for birthday/anniversary celebration. Second visit in four months. The tasting menu was varied and interesting, see pic. They accommodated my OH who doesn't eat red meat or chocolate. I've only docked 1/2 point as both dishes for one course were served tepid (lemon sole/lamb) the lamb was also chewy. (I offered this feedback and was offered another dish which I declined). I'm also not a fan of unisex toilets. The service synchronisation was a little hit and miss such that the spacing between courses was inconsistent. Our aperitifs were slow to arrive which then cut into the wine time. All this does not detract from a lovely evening. But often its the attention to detail which makes the difference, especially for a high priced evening. Will definitely return however. We had a lovely meal at Adams. As soon as we entered the quality of service shone and we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. That high level of formal, but relaxed service continued throughout. We threw in a couple of last minute dietary requirements and it was no issue.The food was of a high standard and thoroughly enjoyed by the whole table. I have to say though, for me the front of house staff really made the evening.

Top notch food, top notch service, top notch place. (Only thing I didn’t quite get was the marmalade with fish but it’s probably just me and my tastebuds.)

Beautiful restaurant and the staff were so attentive throughout, explaining all of the dishes and topping up drinks orders. The food was incredible and we'll worth the price tag. We had the 5 course tasting lunch and would highly recommend!

Great lunch, had the 5 course tasting menu. Lovely wine and cocktails too.
