We have the senior menu as we don't eat as much food now. Only trouble is there's not a lot of choice.

Went here for the first time last weekend, nice place. The Food was really nice, we had the fish and chips and the pie and chips(both were very good). Service was pretty good as well considering it was a Saturday afternoon and the place was busy, so it was probably slower than usual hence 3 stars( had to go and ask for more drinks and then had to find someone to ask for desserts and then had to go and find someone to ask for the bill, which i absolutely don't mind doing except they were adamant it was table service only and if you say that, then that's what we would expect) but staff were friendly and helpful when found!... overall a nice pub, Will definitely be coming back again. Thanks 😊

Good local pub good outside sitting area with large TV for watching sports on good food great choice of beers well worth a visit .all round good pub.

Went to this venue to celebrate a birthday of a family member today and could not fault the service given by all, especially Tracey who helped out with anything that we requested, highly recommended.

The food was very good when we finally got it one of the orders were wrong and waited quite a while for the right order by which time we had eaten ours then it came with no bread which so had to wait for that forgot the butter so didn't get that either but saying all this it was Friday night so very busy

Stopped at Acorn on way back from Rotherham shopping trip .WOW!!! 3 Course meal £8.45 .Unbelievable value and lovely staff .. so pleasant .Give this place a try you won't regret it ... Amazing

Popped in after a full day baby sitting. Man did I need a pint! Anyway as it was late evening. We decided to eat out instead of cooking tea. Had a lovely juicey gamon steak with egg, pineapple and chips. Washed down with a Madri. Heaven. Would definitely call in again during the winter months. May have watched a little football too. 😁

We have been coming here for years hence celebrating our moms 80th birthday there..Great service & staff. Shout out to Eve 🙌, who was there for all our needs 15 of us! & even remembered our names..However, the food wasn't its usual standard. A lot of us ordered steak & unfortunately we all left the majority of it 😔...hoping this is purely because of the size of the order..(wasn't given a pre-order option when I booked) . Still had a good night with a great atmosphere.

Our local. Well it's a mile away but we use as our local because foods always good, staff are nice and friendly and the atmosphere is overall good.

Excellent pub with an open area great for watching the rugby/footie! The burger was just right with decent beef and bacon. Would happily recommend and come back again for the good atmosphere!

Sat outside - loved the area - didnt eat - there for a few drinks after a funeral - just bit noisy from traffic but thats what you expect from being on busy road but enjoyed our time here

The food was plentiful well presented and cooked but the service seemed very slow. No fish dishes were available because of the risk of cross contamination. I don't mind a wait between meals but this lasted too long and waiting to pay was overly long.

One of our favourite local ale houses. Now a Greene King house, decent selection of real ales, good atmosphere and dog friendly! Staff are always pleasant and welcoming. Outdoor playground for younger guests, restaurant area. Even added 4 x EV charging places, fantastic, but these were taken with non- EV’s which is something they really need to get a grip on.

Great food, reasonably priced in a friendly atmosphere. Will be going again, many times!

Car park is not very well laid out as you have to drive round some trees to get to it and the spaces are very tight. Prices for food were very reasonable. There was a problem with a fryer so no fish dishes were available. Setting up a tab is a good idea as the waitress came and took orders for food and drink. The food arrived in good time. It was well presented. The food was hot. The Chips were freshly cooked and crisp. A couple of the items were 'caramalised' but not burnt. Food was tasty. Staff were friendly l Eating/pub area was clean and tables were cleared quickly. Space is a bit tight if you are taking prams or wheelchairs or have someone in your party that has trouble with their mobility. Overall a nice lunch and a friendly environment.

We chose our meals from the menu which was offered to us and when the meals came were surprised at the very large portions, as slightly older diners we assumed this was the norm. Unfortunately we were unable to eat a lot of the food and when our plates were taken away a 'small portion' menu was offered as maybe would have been more suitable. Surely it would be a good idea, when diners are seated, to offer both menus so that those who did not want a mountain of food could choose from the smaller menu.

We booked a table at The Acorn for my brothers 30th birthday when the booking system went live, we were lucky enough to be placed under heaters which meant the rainy day was made warm enough to enjoy our time. The staff and manager couldn’t do enough for us, we had a fantastic time, overall great hospitality

Top class service, lovely food and very accommodating staff. One of the better places I’ve been during these strange times! All covered and heated, let us keep our table for longer too! Overall very happy :)

Came on a rainy Saturday, had the table for 2 hours, was sat under a heater undercover the whole time. Drinks came very quickly and the food was lovely. Would definitely recommend 👍🏼

Got a booking late on for a Saturday evening. Top service from start to finish. Greg was a great host and very accommodating. Food is pub food, as advertised, and they even let us extend our table for a little while. The covered and heated area is also a little gem. Great experience in these times.

The worst customer service you could think of!!! Book a tables WEEKS ago for 4 of us to go, as we have seen the tables are under heated areas and covered. Been looking forward to this for weeks as it’s my first Friday off in months since I’m a nurse, be able to have a drink and see my friends. To be ring up couple of hours before saying “ we don’t have seats under the heated area as we’ve over booked”. Couldn’t offer us a later table or anything and told us to “ go somewhere else if you don’t like it” . WHAT A JOKE, never will come here. It just appalling how we have been treated. Yes I know things can happen and can be over booked but to not offer anything for us and tell us to go somewhere else is a joke. No respect at all

Visited on the first day of reopening (sitting outside) we have eaten there before and it's been average but decided to try again. Two of us enjoyed our meals (burger and Mac n cheese) and two of us didn't. One had the steak kebab and the steak was completely dried up and overdone- I couldn't eat it! The other had pizza which was underdone and soggy in the middle. Average low standard pub food. They were very busy so service was very slow but the staff tried hard and they didn't have enough staff on which wasn't the servers' fault!

Been a regular for a few years now ,food is always delicious,staff are efficient ,friendly they take covid very seriously and that makes us feel safe when we visit .love the place and a great atmosphere on top !

Tener que pedir cada elemento de la comida y ver a los comensales constantemente buscando un miembro del personal realmente arruinó la noche. Los tiempos son diferentes y esto fue cuando estaba a mitad de precio, así que podría entender que esta es la experiencia si no tuvieran suficiente personal, pero ver a muchos empleados navegar por el restaurante ignorando a los clientes realmente debería ser abordado. Ojalá esto mejore en el futuro

Went yesterday. Sunday lunch was delicious and the service was great. Pub is clean and a good menu. Will be returning.

Great rump steak served by great waitress staff! A pity you are a 20 miles round trip for me but I know of others who travel further to meet up here.

I visited The Acorn this lunchtime with my in-laws and 15 month old daughter. It has been a while since we last visited, but it was always one of our favourite places to eat, with lovely food, welcoming service and always quick to be served. This was not the case today unfortunately. The welcome wasn't very warm, we waited to order our food and then another 50 mins for the food to arrive (the bread for my sandwich was still frozen in places) Luckily my little girl was patient and sat in the highchair the whole time. We asked about the wait and was informed there was only 1 chef working and it was busy. Looking around the pub, most tables had been booked so they knew how many people would be eating in advance.I am hoping the service will improve, although won't be coming back in a hurry. Missing the previous owners who did an awesome job of running my local!

Saturdays are extremely busy service suffers a little bit although it was a nice evening out food was nice on this occasion usually excellent if booking for a large group book early and specify you want to be seated alongside each other 4 of my group was sat behind us not the best position even though there was room to have tables alongside each other my rating is given solely for this nights experience it is usually far better maybe having fewer bookings acorn but happier guests that will definitely come back

Llamé para un almuerzo tardío, pero me sorprendió un poco ver el lugar tan vacío y descubrir que la señora que solía administrar el lugar había sido reemplazada por un hombre bastante helado con poca personalidad para alentarme a regresar. Sin embargo, conseguí nuestras bebidas y pedí 2 comidas de pescado y papas fritas que resultó ser un gran error. Se entregaron muy rápidamente, lo que siempre sugiere que no se van a hacer recién hechos, pero peor aún, el pescado estaba muy seco y en el mejor de los casos para el gato y las patatas fritas estaban un poco por debajo del promedio junto con los guisantes. ¿Alguna vez recomendaría este lugar? . . . . No. ¿He vuelto? . . . . No. He escuchado de muchas personas que mantuvieron este lugar ocupado a lo largo de los años lo mal que está hoy y, en particular, la comida y, dado que hay tantas opciones locales, no tengo ganas de sufrir eso nuevamente a toda prisa.

Just to let everyone know, we had a family meal for sunday lunch at the the acorn inn. 7 adults and 2 children. Food, simply amazing, plates overflowing, waiting staff extremely attentive, price amazing for two and three courses each. We thought it would be busy, but staff worked really well, taking orders, serving drinks and food at the table for all diners.An excellent venue with excellent food and staff. You have to try this place, but book at least 3 weeks in advance as its extremely popular. Cant wait to try midweek menu again soon....

Out for a meal with family and friends was a lovely afternoon my party was larger by two that was originally booked for but the staff weren’t phased by this even though a machine that dispensed gifts for children I think it was was moved but the staff member didn’t show that it was an inconvenience at all the food we received was excellent although the vegan menu is a bit confusing as it shows meat products on it this needs to be looked into although our waitress did bring it to our attention the waitress was very attentive with all of us taking note when ordering to keep certain foods off the order and was excellent with the younger ones definitely visiting again

Came here for my 21st and Abi and Carly are a credit to the pub as they were amazing, even joe who wasn’t working was still doing everything he could, some staff could do with been a bit more friendlier but it looks like with time as they settle in that will progress.

Lovely little pub, always willing to return. Great food and great atomosphere. Great for sunday lunches, or pub classics. Or even just a drink with friends

Arrived today 31st oct.at 12.55 pm four of us in party. Place very busy table we were given really tight to sit down in.we were back to back with table behind. Not pleasant.ordered our drinks then meals.meals arrived 1.40 pm.mine had to be sent back it was the chicken Kiev it was inedible could not put form in it rock hard.the waitress too it back and I had fish & chips which was brought out at 1.50. it was ok. Decided to have dessert meagre portions of apple pie the dishes were cold as was the custard.never had a meal as poor. The waitresses were lovely could not do enough for you. I was told my meal would not be charged.which I was grateful for.but then on bill after we had gone for the two meals at £10.49 my sister was going to be charged £8.79 for hers!!!.anyhow the waitress sorted this out. Very disappointed my first meal there don't think we will return. The waitress said the chef had been battered that day obviously too busy for him so standard poor. Not what you want when you go for meal.

We called at the Acorn for a meal last night and had the privilege of being invited to join the taster evening. All I can say is amazing their new menu has healthier, tastier choices with a new range of vegan dishes and the most delicious wines. The staff were as always friendly approachable and full of knowledge and excitement with regards to their new menu. They are also going to provide a pizza take away service which I can’t wait to try.

just got back from a taster night for the new menu at The Acorn Inn what a amazing night the new menu has some brilliant new meals from the the sunday dinner starter which was brilliant two new pizzas.The liver and onions and sticky toffee pudding all just as amazing. Also some new wines well worth giving a try..Special thanks to Greg the new manager for our invite and doing such a amazing job tonight . Would definatly recommend that you go and give the new menu a try.

The lady I called the landlady or maybe a waitress is an absolute gem, as is her assistant this particular day. Good food, promptly served for a group when ready. A pleasure to visit here every couple of months. Wish I lived around the corner from it!.

Visited here for the second time with family absolutely beautiful food steak cooked to perfection, all 5 meals was lovely. It’s a lovely pub with lovely polite and friendly staff .The outside area great aswell highly recommend .

A very good landlady and staff providing excellent food from a varied menu of good choices. This is not a scramble for a carvery like some places - indeed I don't think they have one or I have never seen it - but the food is served up without long delays and is very variable in choice. AND WELL WORTH EATING! The reduced price items on the menus like 2 for £whatever are well worth having too.

This pub still has originality and charm, the range of drinks is great, and the food is delicious and not expensive. Well worth a visit.

Never had a bad meal at this pub. Two meqls for £10.49 is a great deal. The food is hot, tasty and well presented. Plenty of variety too. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. Car oark is reasonable size too but does get busy at tea-time. Always worth booking at the busy times.

Me and some friends eat at the acorn lady night as we have many times before but last night the service and food were terrible. We ordered our food at the table despite the waitress reluctancy to take our order. We then waited an hour for sub standard food. Me and me friend shared a house sharing platter and it was terrible the nachos where solid and we couldn't even get them out of the bowl like they had been reheated. The garlic bread was burnt and completely black and the chicken was dry and chewy absolutely terrible. Then we asked for drinks and by this time there was hardly anyone in the pub but she took 20 minutes to get drinks and forgot the other.

Having been to visiting my Mum in the NGH, we needed an early dinner.

Visited on 21st December with friends. First visit and bar staff were very welcoming. We had booked a table and were seated straight away. The atmosphere was jovial and people appeared to be having a good time. Our order was taken and we didn’t have long to wait for the food to arrive. Onion rings were missed off my meal but this was soon rectified when I pointed it out. The food was good and overall we had a very pleasant evening. Would visit again definitely.

Had Christmas day dinner there with the family staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough to make a great day food was great and plenty of it would reccomend to anyone

Been previously and ordered the steaks which have been of good quality in the past, but unfortunately this time both steaks was full of fat and gristle, the steak knife struggled to cut through them. We were asked if we wanted to reorder but we were both put off and suggested a change of butcher should help after ours was definitely not up to standard so we declined and left hungry searching for else where, why do proprietors insist on cutting corners all it does is cost money and leads to reviews like this at our expense on our taxi fares there and back and the wasted time and sub standard food on the pubs expense.

We go to the Acorn regularly, and have had our works Christmas meal there for the last few years.

Birthday for my daughter visited on the 10th of December had great food! Great service! And I have an ocd with cleaning and I give them 5 stars for this!! Well done the Acorn

Reservamos una mesa en línea y les informamos que teníamos un usuario de silla de ruedas con nosotros. Muy complacido de que cuando llegamos, nuestra mesa estaba esperando cerca del acceso para discapacitados y con mucho espacio libre para la silla de ruedas.

The Acorn catered for a family funeral this week. The food was brilliant and the staff so friendly. Such a lovely pub with a warm friendly atmosphere. Thank you so much.

Esta fue la primera vez que estuve aquí. El bar y las zonas de estar estaban limpias y el personal era agradable. La comida era excelente, pero nos dejaron confundidos con algunos de los tamaños de las porciones. Uno de nosotros comió pescado (tamaño decente), papas fritas (6 de ellos) y guisantes blandos (apenas una cucharadita). ¡La envoltura de pudín de Yorkshire y el pastel de carne en comparación eran enormes! Los dulces eran igualmente confusos. Una rebanada amplia de pastel de manzana en comparación con una porción de brownie de chocolate.

A family meal that suited the fussiest of eaters in the party. Highly recommend the Yorkshire Pudding Wraps, But all the food was deli and good value. The service friendly and efficient. Perfect experience.

Another visit to this great pub, friendly service, cosy, clean and comfortable seating. The meals were great, vegetarians are well catered for with at least 3 main meals to choose from. The falafel burger was excellent, very tasty, the gourmet burger was just that, very moist and tasty, the beef and ale pie was lovely, and the rib eye steak was the best I’ve had in some time, succulent, tasty and perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection.

Lovely roast & gammon egg and chips, reasonable priced would recommend. Friendly staff who apologised on the wait for food even though it wasn’t that long. We were sat in the corner and the carpet was dirty/stained but this didn’t really impact on our experience :)

I booked a table 5 days ago and got confirmation. On arrival my booking wasn’t there so got pushef onto a small table in a corner. Ordered Sunday lunch, the meat was beef and couldn’t be cut with the knife let alone be chewed. The mashed potatoes were lumpy and tasted of nothing. Very disappointed with what should have been a treatable for m husband and I.

Came a few months ago for a family meal, booked in advance for 11 arrived early and table was ready set up with plenty of space in the conservatory, staff were friendly and accommodating on arrival even though we had a tired 6 month old, drinks and food order was taken promtly (with a big range of craft ales including farmers blonde) and meals all arrived quickly, double gormet burger was amazing! Menu has great options for food intolerances and a seperate menu for gluten free and vegan/vegetarian. Overall outstanding service and would definitely come again!!

Came for a drink sat outside all I can say is very dirty and grubby decided on trying ice cream sundae ice particles in ice cream not taste cheap and nasty food all staff seem to look unkempt never will come again.

Went to the acorn with the wife and kids for a meal and wasn’t disappointed. Lovely food and staff seemed to be always smiling and willing to help. Highly recommend.

We've visited the Acorn a few times and have never been disappointed. The staff are always welcoming, smiling and nothing is too much trouble. There is a good selection of food at a good price and it is always well cooked. Great selection of beers and gins. The conservatory is perfect for seating large groups and we have had a couple of large family gatherings there. Keep doing what you are doing, because you do it so well.

We went with another couple for our lunch after reading the good reports on tripadvisor. We all chose the 2 courses for £5-99p we all had fish and chips but two of us had starters while the other two abstained and then they had desserts while we didn't. It must have been too confusing for the staff because we were charged for 2 two courses and 2 three courses. I thought it came to more than we had mentally calculated but it wasn't until we got home and checked the bill that we realised we had been over charged.
