Aberford Restaurant in Hertsmere

We got a takeaway. Food is normally spot on but this time the lamb chops were badly overcooked and the pork kebabs were also overcooked. The cafe was full and the guy said 'your chops are slightly overdone' that was an understatement. If I had been eating in the restaurant I would not have accepted them and sent them back but we had waited long enough for the takeaway (over an hour) and everyone was hungry. It won't stop me using the Aberford Cafe but next time I will eat in.

Really lovely kebabs. Nice restaurant tucked away. Good seating area outside. Only recommendation is slightly bigger portions. But overall very tasty and would definitely recommend.

Fantastic food and service! The team at Aberford turned out an office lunch for 30 people with less than 24 hours' notice - not one missing or wrong item, food was still hot, and they even labelled who ordered what. Generous portions and very tasty!

Really enjoyed this Greek restaurant. Food is good as is the service at this establishment. We had a few different dishes and loved them all. Would highly recommend the Greek salad it’s delicious. The helpings are quite large so do need aware of this and that pita bread accompanied each starter. Thank you for the wonderful meal we will return again. We were totally happy with the food we just couldn’t eat it all. Over ordered on our side. See you soon

I have eaten before here. Unfortunately due to lockdown 2 this time it has to be on take away. When it’s normally open you have got a good are to seat down in/out doors. Service it is good and a good quality food, also it is attended for the own owner it self.

I'd never heard of this place despite living in Borehamwood for four years as it's tucked away in a community centre. I only ordered a take away as it was participating in a discount. I'm glad I did! Generous portions for the money doesn't do it justice. The food was one person could feed two! Tasted delicious too even the presentation inside a take away box was thoughtful and good. Great discovery!

Ordered a delivery of food last night. Was delivered exactly on time (by Deliveroo). The food was lovely. Grilled Lamb Chops cooked to perfection. The sale was lovely and fresh. And the chips were delicious. Very generous portions. I will definitely be ordering again. Well done

Here I am again, please see previous review of July 2018 This time a disastrous outing. We booked a table and explained that we had to be in and out within a hour. Our order for food and drinks was quickly taken. The drinks arrived immediately, but after 20, then 30 mins. we chased the food that hadn't arrived. One of the four orders arrived only to be told that the other three had been prepared and given to another table. A repeat order was offered but it was to late and we departed hungry Won't revisit unless they get some reliable serving staff Cannesdid surfingsyd

Walking round the park last Saturday my Husband and I took a chance and had 'brunch' at Aberford Restaurant last Saturday. The restaurant and outside space is spotless and we received a warm welcome from Tani and his team. We were advised to try the chicken Gyros which was delicious. Good meat well seasoned, fresh lettuce and a delicious greek bread, light and fresh. The greek cappuccino was very good too. We didn't use the toilets so have no idea as to cleanliness. As they have been mentioned negatively in another post I hope they have been attended to as this would definitely let down this little gem.

This restaurant is a nice place to stop and has reasonable prices and friendly staff, however, the toilets are disgusting and doesn’t look like it has been cleaned in a while, the meat is always over cooked and rubbery. The chips are nice but greasy. Would not come again.

We visited on Sunday after good recommendations. Unfortunately only one other table was occupied but several people came into collect takeaway orders. The restaurant is well laid out, attractive and very clean. We ordered a sharing platter between four of us and it was huge!! It had different sausages, lamb and chicken Shawna, lam and chicken kebabs, lamb chops, minced beef patties, 2 dips, Pitts, rice, fries, and a big salad. Although totally delicious we just couldn’t finish it but the leftovers as a takeaway were enough to feed 3 the next day. They also served a complimentary taster dessert which was also delicious. The menu is reasonably priced and parking is easy. A great place to visit especially in the summer months to enjoy eating al fresco! Would strongly recommend

Was walking with the dog and came across the café. Great snacks mild coffee plenty of places for the children to run outside and to sit. Dogs unfortunately not allowed inside

This place is fabulous whatever time of day you choose to visit. Delicious breakfast, scrummy lunch and marvellous dinner menus. The staff are really friendly and genuine.

This is one of the hidden gems of Borehamwood. The staff are friendly, the food outstanding and the cost very reasonable

This place is great!! The staff are very welcoming & can’t do enough for you. The food was delicious and authentic and very reasonably priced. 100% recommend & look forward to going again. P.S don’t forget to take a bottle of wine.

An authentic Greek salad and good coffee lunchtime treat. Really good food and attentive staff...music a little too loud though! Outside space to enjoy good weather.

Always brilliant food and excellent service. Friendly staff and spotlessly clean. Great value , always our go to place for take away. Friends and family always impressed when you take them there. Child friendly too.

If you like being called a liar and ignored, this is the place for you. Food used to be good but service definitely lets this place down. Not the only person complaining yesterday. Avoid at all costs.

Ten of us decided to give this new cafe/restaurant a try. We brought our own booze, so off we went. On arrival I met some of my family, who recommended the meze. Well that is what we had, the lot. The food was coming fast and plentiful. None of us were disappointed, it truly was a great night with great food. It's not fine dining, it's fun dining.

There is a great walk along the river in the park. This restaurant is then the perfect place for a quick, simple but delicious meal.

I had been told it was really good, but my breakfast was average. the friend eggs had broken and hard yokes the bacon was good but the halloumi really salty....wasn't overly impressed....good cup of tea, but the toast was not toasted!

I was recommended by a friend to try this cafe. The food is value for money. Although the pork gyro was a bit dry, the lamb chop were lovely . Nice humous and other dips. We were given some fruit after the meal. I will definitely come back again to try different dishes .

Thinking this was a new Greek restaurant a group of us went to try this place.

Aberford cafe is good . Nice choice of foods. Breakfast lunch sandwiches. Good value . Is open every day now and there is a public toilet to use. It is in a nice surround , children's park and skate park and lake with ducks and swans . There is plenty of parking here too .

Nice little friendly cafe. Good breakfast good prices. In nice surroundings. Worth a visit plenty of off street parking . Cakes and rolls good value too .

Good friendly polite service. Nothing is too much for the staff. Very clean and tidy. Ideal for a break after taking the children to the park.

Nice clean and friendly,the food available limited but acceptable coffees and smoothies very good the owner is at present applying to extend the premises and we wish him all the best

Bit grubby looking. We went in there for duck food and came out with a cookie for one of the grandchildren. The staff were very helpful and friendly but not sure that I would eat a meal there although a couple of tables looked like they were x

Aberford Park is a great place to take the kids and better still the cafe there serves great food and coffee.

I've been a regular customer for the last couple of years of this lovely cafe run by Artan. I go there most weeks with my care clients as I'm a careworker.

The food is lovely, the place is spotless and the customer service is perfect.
