My husband and I visited the Abbeygreen Cafe today for lunch enroute from Elgin to Warwickshire. It is ideally situated just off the M74 motorway. We had a warm welcome from the friendly staff and the food, drink and service were excellent. Prices were very reasonable . We would highly recommend. !

Cafe was great when first opened however multiple visits since have been very disappointing. Food has been basic, greasy and tasted shop bought. Cakes stale and inedible. The last time I had a chicken tikka sandwich and chicken rice soup - the ‘sandwich’ tasted like Tesco sandwich filler slapped between two pieces of bread and the soup had an oily residue floating on top. Thought a slice of Victoria sponge would rectify it but it was dry and tasted days old. Not at all what I would hope for from a local cafe claiming to sell home made produce.

Wanted to stop somewhere off the M74 for lunch that was nicer than a service station on our journey home from England, and this was way beyond our expectations. Couldn't have asked for better service - everyone we spoke to was incredibly helpful and friendly. My husband raved about his freshly made soup and enormous sandwich and I had a cheese and mushroom omelette which was one of the nicest (and biggest!) I've ever had. Couldn't finish it so took it home and shared the leftovers just now for lunch with my husband. Very dog friendly too - Poppy loved the sausage they brought out for her! Oh - and husband was miserable about the cost of food down south and was ecstatic that this lunch was much cheaper (and nicer) than most of the food we'd had during our week away! To top it off, parking at the local park was free so the dog got a bit of a run around too. Will definitely be back here whenever we're making that journey again.

We made an impromptu visit and what a pleasant surprise. Nice clean decor, good friendly service, complimented by very tasty food. It may be a young establishment in the grand scheme, but we wish it all the success. Oh, and the loo was spotless. A big thumbs up from a picky hard to please Baz.

As always a great lunch, and unbeatable home baked cakes, to be had at the Abbeygreen cafe. New local suppliers and specials everyday. The club sandwich and Strachan burgers are definitely worth a try! Portion sizes are great and the food is very tasty. Cafe surroundings are lovely, modern, relaxing and comfortable. Great friendly service as well.

We stopped off in this little village on the way to Perthshire. The cafe was just closing, but the owner was so helpful and still made us coffee! We were offered water for our dog, toilets, and baby changing facilities. We also got some yummy cakes for our journey. Thanks for being so helpful and accommodating xx

Always great food and service, they’ve really turned the place around from a cafe to a restaurant. Going to give the steak night a try next!

Arrived at cafe approx 1.00 pm, party of four. We adhered to the ‘please wait sign before being seated ‘ for couple of minutes and no one came so as there were empty seats we proceeded to sit down. Shortly thereafter a young girl , waitress, appeared and began chastising us while literally throwing the menus in front of us. She launched into a tirade about ‘in the future wait before taking a seat the signs are there for a reason’! We accept that you clearly expect protocol to be followed to the letter busy or not. However I think it’s fair to expect to be spoken to in a professional, respectful manner and not an angry attitudinal one as we experienced from this young girl today. We have been long time weekly regulars but after this incident , sad to say will not be returning!
