Awful food, don’t match description and not even hot. Very limited choice of food. Some of chairs is broken . Won’t be going back

It’s always a pleasure being at the abbey meads! The landlord Steve and landlady Carol really can’t do enough to make sure your visit is excellent! I wasn’t planning on eating today however the menu was too good to pass up! I had the jacket potato with mixed veg chilli and cheese and a side of onion rings. Absolutely no words it was amazing! The amount of choice you have for drinks is a massive bonus aswell there is always something for everyone! If your in the Swindon area be sure to give this place a visit it really is a little gem

We were here for the abbey fest and were extremely impressed! There were kid friendly activities like taking pictures with Mickey Mouse, Minny mouse and pikachu! The auctions were a fun sight to see as so many people got involved and just knowing everything goes towards a good cause just makes it better.

This place holds the old feeling of an pub. Staff that actually care and you can feel it as a customer. 100% recommend!!!!

Awesome pub, awesome atmosphere! Always a friendly face, beer garden is spacious too with a small playground to keep kids amused. All in all...a great place to be!

Steve and Carol are so welcoming. Food is awesome and there are so many draught products available you will be spoilt for choice. Everyone is so friendly and garden is huge with a play park for the kids.

Overcooked steak. I ordered a rump steak, medium rare. When it came it was well done to the point of being dry. The waiter had clearly been trained to come and ask if everything was OK, but had no idea what to do if it wasn't. His main concern seemed to be defending himself, assuring us that he definitely put it through correctly on the till. He did eventually say he'd tell the kitchen, but no replacement or even apology was given. The rest of the meal was OK, and other members of the group were happy with their food, hence 2 stars rather than 1 star. Disappointing!

Went last night with 3 friends and had a terrible meal, all 4 meals were poor quality and disgusting. As you can see from the photo, asked for a steak medium rare and it came back looking like and old leather boot. Complained to the server and was told that someone come over, no one bothered to see us, steak poor, chips reheated but cold, peas disgusting

Really awful food! I don,t think the landlord and land lady even care what is dished up! Had tortillas wish I,d taken a photo it was a joke a mess of cheap squirts sauces over a few tortillas! Unbelievable! Never again!

Dreadful experience, awful food. Couldn't care less service. Do the landlord and lady really give damn. Food came out after a 75-minute wait. This is just not acceptable. Will not be going back here.

So I visited the abbey meads yesterday to meet up with some family and decided to order some lunch, the food took over 45 minutes to come out I had a mixed grill , and the meat was so dry and not cooked properly what so ever the meat absolutely stank aswell! definitely would not recommend eating in this pub, I’m also a chef myself so I know how meat should be cooked!! Definitely will not be coming back to eat here again, disgusting food and service,

Came for a family lunch, glass in all our drinks was hugely offputting. Food wasn’t very nice sadly. However nice people.

How rubbish we came here a week ago and from the severely limited menu I ordered scampi with tartare sauce and it turned up with no tartare sauce that time I managed without. This time I specifically asked if you have no tartare sauce I will pick something else- scampi turns up no tartare sauce we had to suggest that they pop next door to Tesco to buy some tartare sauce!!! Hello show some initiative!! Service- awful, food - awful, wine- awful value for money -awful - don’t go here it’s awful!!

Staff on the bar are very polite and well trained. Ales are well priced and kept well. Very clean and tidy - will visit again.

been coming here for 7 years on & off since living in Abbey Meads…in my opinion I can honesty say Steve, Carol & Tiffany are by far the best hosts The Abbey Mead have had in that time…so welcoming & friendly on every visit, fair play to them in trying to sort it out and make it a decent social establishment to visit..just don’t understand the negative reviews, never have had a problem in visiting here…keep up the good work Guys 👍

Always a pleasure visiting this pub, will often travel the 30 minute walk to eat and drink here. Always a friendly welcome and friendly staff with great entertainment!! Safe and clean environment, and nothing is ever too much!!

Visited Sunday lunchtime with wife & elderly father - The youngsters behind the bar and serving food are all very polite and a nice environment to enjoy a relaxing lunch.

Half the meals we ordered were not available as the had no ribeye, gammon or rump steak. The only steak they had was sirloin however the server wasn't even sure if they had that, the meals we got were alright.

Me and my son went here today for lunch we waited 40 minutes for our starters a prawn cocktail and a soup, my son enjoyed his prawn cocktail however I had to send the soup back as it tasted as if they had just heated up tomato puree. When the mains arrived another 30 minutes later I took a small amount of the cauliflower and quickly realised it was cauliflower cheese, I spit it out immediately, if I didn't realize I could have been sick as I am allergic to cheese, my son had an XL cowboy burger, the bun was stale and the outside of the burgers were overcooked. We sent both meals back and the manager gave us a refund for the main meals and gave us both drinks. Overall a terrible experience, the staff all seemed very apologetic for what happened.

I have been going to the abbeymeads for years but the food was getting so bad down to the salad being brown so gave up going!! Since the new landlords have been there we have been over every weekend the atmosphere is amazing so many old faces it's great!! As for the food it's lovely I ask for a steak medium well and it was perfect just how I wanted it my son who doesn't really eat all his food at this whole burger said it was delicious you'd is so good would definitely be going over more often well done to the landlords they are doing an amazing job

Took our friends here and the first time since the new landlords arrived. Asked to set up a tab as were were having food but not able to do that, then tried to order food for 4 people and after nearly 20 minutes the barmaid???? Said her till had broken and she would have to do it again on another till but had to cancel the order off!!!

Stoped serving food at 6:30 on a Saturday night as had a karaoke planned for 8:30. No notice on entering bar do bought drinks only to find we could not get food in an advertised food based pub

We sat outside, and it was absolutely filthy and full of ants. There was dog mess on the grass, and used cutlery on the grass. We then went inside, where we were greeeted by stale chips on floor. The food wasn’t very warm, and the queue at the bar was long. Not sure I would return again, especially to eat.

When ordering food yesterday i ordered the grill and a pint of fosters and was charged for the drink. I did mention it to the woman behind the bar who gave me a free pepsi for my son. So i payed more for my meal. My friend also ordered the grill and was charged for her kopparberg but didnt want to complain. The menu hasnt changed that much. Your staff need to realise what deals you do actually do!

So disappointed with this pub. 3 friends and myself decided to come for a late dinner and went to order at 8.44pm. We were told it was too late although it says they serve food until 9pm if you order by 8.45. They wouldn’t even make an exception. Such poor customer skills and you can tell they only want to do the bare minimum to get paid. This is my local too so it’s a shame but I will not be going here again I would much rather venture out to places that are more hospitable. Hopefully in the future they will learn from there mistakes because apparently this is not the first time they have said they are not serving food according to friends or at least change the sign from 9pm.

The menu has changed since last time we visited last and there was lots of choice. Staff were very friendly and welcoming food was hot Nd freshly cooked and was excellent value for money.

This place is so nice. I've been going there for 15 years, and it's changed hands and staff a number of times but always managed to stay a friendly local.

Came here enroute to London. It was nice weather so we sat outside for dinner. We ordered a lasagne and ribs. The ribs came with a free drink. Lasagne was good but the ribs were a bit dry and flaky

Go here regularly since moving to the area and food has always been excellent, good beers on tap and the girlfriend loves the cocktails

Went for lunch with my partner and son. We had roast beef and vegetarian and my son had pizza and jelly and Ice cream. Really nice food. Friendly atmosphere staff were friendly and they was a little play area what more could you want!

Myself, husband and 2 teenage boys decided to start the Easter weekend with a pub meal - we weren't disappointed.

The Abbey Meads is a good pub for the local community in Abbey Meads. Service is friendly, food good value and there's a lovely garden to sit in on a sunny day. What more could you want from your local?

I visited the abbey meads last friday afternoon. I had a 3 cource meal for an amazingly low price of £6.50 i took a family member and with discounted drinks the bill came to roughly £15. The portion sizes were perfect and the timing between cources was excellent. I highly recomend visiting this pub. The food was excellent and we both left knowing we had eaten but didnt want to go to sleep straight after.100% recomend.

This pub is amazing, the second I walked in I felt welcom! The bar staff are extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The food was good quality and I even ordered seconds! The Carl and Nikki wrre very welcoming and friendl. I would recommend the Abby meads to anyone looking for a good night out.

Have eaten here lots of times over the last year. Lovely food, very reasonably priced.. Steak and mixed grill are lovely .. Friendly staff and garden is great during the sunny weather.. Staff always friendly and helpful.

We visit this pub regularly when we are in need of some good value for money pub grub. There is a wide choice of food on the menu at amazingly low prices and good portion sizes. Inside, the pub is a good size with lots of tables, a large bar, TV screens and several darts boards. Children are allowed inside. Outside, there is a garden with tables and a small play ground. At weekends the pub gets very busy (and noisey) and it can take a bit longer for your food to arrive. Visit during the week and you will find the pub less busy and more relaxing.

Friendly staff, no regular ales. Food ok but not great value for money, portions too small even on full size meals. Not overly helpful with changes requested on meals. very clean. Only ever busy on special events. Music too loud and tv whilst eating is not healthy. Plenty of parking when school pick up is not in action and easy access. No dogs allowed.

I enjoyed Abbey Meads. Spent two evenings there in June A Monday night ( to see the footy match) and a Saturday night visiting with friends. Great place, friendly owner, and fantastic selection of beer. I will be back if I ever get to England again!

I came to the pub for dinner with my girlfriend and her family. Shared a meat the beast with my girlfriends sister and it was lovely the meat was cooked beautifly two gammon were also ordered and cooked well everything seemed to be presented with care. There was a good variety of great food and drinks including local beers and cocktails. Friendly Foh and bar staff.The relaxed and cheerful atmosphere of the pub made our experience very pleasant. Very happy with our visit will defiantly be returning soon.

Called and emailed as nobody seems to answer the phone to book a table for over 20 people for my sons 18th birthday meal, I receive an email back stating that they don't cater for 18th birthday parties, I then decided to try calling where a man answers and I explain that it's not a birthday party just a family meal for his 18th birthday he still said no. Safe to say I will not go back to this pub again and instead booked it down the road at the blunsdon arms

Visited for Sunday lunch, 1 pm Sunday, not unreasonable I thought... But no, they'd sold out. Ordered scampi, NOPE, sold out of that too. 3rd choice, pie and chips not hard to get right? Apparently it is. Chips had clearly been standing on a hot plate for several hours and pie filling was so hard and dried out it was actually crunchy. Mmm intetesting.... Kids cheese burger - so easy to get right... Bread burger, cheese, bread- EVERYONE KNOES THIS!! However, the Abbey Meads version came without cheese?!?! When we pointed out the mistake were told curtly 'cheese is extra.' Tried to reason with the girl ... 'But we ordered a cheese burger, how can cheese be extra' unfortunately she seemed to have only one monotone response 'cheese is extra' (with added eye rolls just to make sure we could see how ridiculous she thought we were asking for something as preposterous as cheese for a cheese burger) It was kind of like a cheese standoff.Anyway, in short rancid food, rude staff DON'T GO.

Ended up at the Abbey Meads after an evening event and the family were really hungry. All the food we ordered arrived promptly and was delicious. We had two different curries and they were both really good and my sister had a meal that was made up of small portions of three different meals and she really enjoyed all of them. Excellent value and well cooked. Will definitely return when in that part of Swindon again.

My wife (vegetarian) and I have eaten here a n umber of times and the staff and atmosphere are always really friendly The service is always quick and the food really tasty. Definitely our favourite for Pub Grub. (They do a good range of beers too).

My daughter and I ate here yesterday with my 21 month old grandson. It was an impromptu visit. The food was very nice and extremely reasonable. We chose the light bites option and it was plenty big enough for a lunch. The watermelon cheesecake was delicious! (Doesn't sound like it should be but it was!) Considering it was half term it wasn't very busy, but, having said that, we didn't arrive until after 2pm so it could've been busier earlier. The seated booth type arrangement with a TV screen is a brilliant idea and kept my grandson from getting fidgety during our meal. (The waitress even changed the channel to a more child friendly option too after we'd asked the question). The staff all seemed very nice & polite. All in all a great lunch time experience.

What an amazing visit today , walked into an empty pub just after opening time to come across a happy and very welcoming young man who made some good conversation. We then chose our food - a lunch club and a ANNATELLI off of the specials board which was amazing the portion was brilliant and the flavors spot on very happy with the dish and will deffo be going back for this . ----- the specials board needs more of a variety of homemade chef specials and maybe another specials board elsewhere in the pub as not easy to spot as it is kind of hidden , hope that management see this and decide to do something about it apart from that a great visit !!

This pub is such a waste not sure if it is badly managed but could be so much more with a bit of effort and thought,Will not return very bad mannered buy serving behind the bar and lack of direction from management IMO,Such a waste as this is in an area where there are lots of families but this pub lacks appeal.

Visited with hubby and 3 children under 8 for a early dinner. Very pleased to find out that children eat for £1 with a eating adult on Friday between 3pm-5pm. Pub was lovely and cosy, bar staff and waiting staff attentive without being annoying. Food was fine, could have been hotter but was tasty but portions were very small.....few more fresh veggies could have filled the plates a bit. Would go back but would have to order extras especially for the children.

Had a Mega all day breakfast at lunchtime. The toast I ordered was rock hard so I sent it back. The rest of the breakfast was very good and nice and hot.Service was quick but there wasn't many people there at the time.Looking around the place I noticed there were many many dart boards so I assume this is a pub for dart fans and players? The flat screen TVs dotted around were showing repeats of the Darts Championship being held in Surrey.There was also posters advertising an open darts tournament for this coming February. I do like darts but Ive never seen it so intense in a family pub like this before.Or is it a family pub? There were notices about children not being allowed in after 9pm which kinds of make sense. Children should be in bed by 9pm!!The staff on my visit were friendly.Overall it was a very pleasant visit.

We were regular visitors of this pub for 10 years and previously had no issues until the current landlord took over. Prior to him and his team this was a family pub with a friendly atmosphere. It's all about him and his darts now and children are not welcome in the slightest. Tried to bite out tongue for so long now but finally had enough of his disregard for children and his offensive attitude. Do not expect to feel welcome with children at this pub.

Came hear tonight and got refused to order our meals because the kitchen was to busy "apparently" seeing as there was hardly anyone eating I found that hard to believe. When I asked the member of staff why they said it was out of his hands and sent us on our way!! When asked to speak to the management he was rude and couldn't answer our questions all he said was it was out of his hands. Poor excuse of a establishment and definitely won't be back

This is the first pub we ever ate in, in Swindon. My fiance and I at the time (both living approx 50 miles out of Swindon at the time) were about to view a house, when we stopped by here for lunch. Its normal Pub food, but its a nice relaxed atmosphere. We liked the house, we liked the look of the area, and we liked the pub. So we moved around the corner from here. Since living in Abbey Meads for the last 3 years, I have lost count on how many times we have come to this pub for food. They often have bands on on Weekends, and you can play darts. Theres always a good variety of food. Its family friendly, but not too family focused, so its still very comfortable for couples and friends to go. Suits all scenarios. In the summer, theres a nice outdoor area that is popular to drink in, that way peoples kids can play/ run arounds whilst the adults are drinking.This is often my pub of choice, not just because its the closest, but because its always friendly, value for money and has variety of food and drink to suit whatever mood or person. I would be heartbroken if it ever closed down. Only downside is it doesn't open till midday on a Sunday... so i cant come here for a hangover breakfast. But no problemo, because Toby Carvery is open for breakfast ;)

The pub itself is nice lookingThere was only 2 staff members on when I arrived so took a little long to order and get a drink. The food: unfortunately I cannot really rate the food at all, we ordered 2 roast beef dinners and when it arrived it looked horrendous. The vedge was still frozen and were tasteless, the potatoes were fried and greasy with no taste and the Yorkshire pudding had been put in an oven that clearly hadn't been cleaned in a while as you could smell it. The new potatoes had a funny taste and the beef was fatty however for the price I guess you get what you pay for however what I would say is if you want more people in then think about the overall presentation of the food and make sure the frozen vedge is cooked!!!

This is my regular pub that I visit regularly! The quality of the food is great and the staff are always friendly. In terms of prices, I would say that they're alot cheaper than other pubs £5-£6 for a meal.

We went here for a meal with our son. The food arrived steak asked for rare got raw it was full of fat and the worst I have ever had. My son had the mixed grill and his steak had gristle running through it. When the waitress removed our plates she didn't ask how the food was so I told her! She replied she would tell the chef and that was the last we heard! I will be writing to Marstons about this as no apology was given she really didn't care

This is local to me and we often take the kids there, always got a huge variety on the menu and its very well priced.

Me and my friend visited for lunch on Tuesday. We were surprised at how empty it was, considering it's the school holidays. I chose a peri peri chicken and coleslaw burger and my friend chose hunters chicken. The food arrived quickly and it was tasty, however, I did have to deconstruct the burger because the bun was very dry. The chicken was tasty and juicy and the coleslaw was obviously homemade. My friend chose not to eat the bacon on her hunters chicken because it didn't seem to be fully cooked, however, she enjoyed the rest. We chose to have desserts afterwards and they were decent portions and very tasty. We were generally happy with our meals and it was very reasonably priced. We will probably return again.

Popped into the Abbey meads for dinner, my husband and I both had the mixed grill and asked for the steaks to be cooked medium rare, unfortunately they were cremated as we're the gammon and chicken breast, I was so disappointed as we have been in on numerous occasions and had a very nice meal cooked to how we asked so I'm just assuming the chef had an off day.

The Abbeymeads is the closest pub to where we live and we eat here often. The food is amazingly good value and always good. The team go out of there way to be friendly and quite rightly the pub has just won an award for being a great community pub. The current landlord has made a real difference to the whole atmosphere of the place and despite the local competition the pub seems to be thriving. Don't be put off by the negative comments it's well worth a visit .

Stopped here for a meal on the way home from a long journey. Found by accident when looking for a nearby toby carvery!! So glad we made the mistake!!This is a chain (marstons) but is franchised and has its own style and menu. I have rated this as one of the best restaurants Ive been to which sounds a bit optimistic as it is only a pub chain, but for overall choice on menu, service, quality and price it actually is one of the best places I've visited that ticks all, not just some of the boxes.Lovely helpful service from Jenny the young lady behind the bar :-)There was something for everyone here, from monster burgers, hotter than hell (thats the actual name not my choice of words!!) curry and chilli, delicious salads and sandwiches to good old british favourites like liver and onions and roast dinner. Very reasonable prices, generous portion sizes and a wide selection of side dishes. Food was served quickly, was hot, well presented and most of all very tasty!!My only complaint is that its not i my local area, and probably too far for me to visit again sadly, but if I am ever in the area again I will make a point of going back and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a varied menu, good value and helpful service :-)

Me and my friends visit here on a regualr basis and have allways great service and food.... untill yesterday (sunday 1st March) we turned up to find that was darts tournments on and i think rugby on the tv , no worries keeping everyone happy but one end the pub to the other no thought for the regualrs :-(some kind gentlemen that were playing darts in one part moved load of glases of set of tables for us to sit down but to also find was very limted menu on basicly just bugers and hotdogs ..... oh or a toastie ! we been waiting all day for friends so could go for a nice meal here but ended up with burgers and chips ... chips were over cooked or tasted of fat no potaote.when we went to bar to order the lady behind the bar stood there for 30 seconds untill we shouted at her for service to which she had no mind to be there was not bortherd one bit with a face of doom, no smile thoughout the whole of orders she took from us all, no enjoy our meal etc.... so buoght the visit down even more.overall very unsastisfied custmers between us all ... if was not so hungery and late in afternoon would of gone else where stright away .. next time the pub gets taken over we wont bother as they dont seem to care about there regular familys / friends gatherings

On our travels to visit family over Christmas we visited The Abbey Meads for a night out. I must say, the food was fantastic and the team were very accommodating. As usual, we ate, sent the kids back to the house with one unlucky babysitter, and carried on for a party. Carl, one of the owners, personally took care of our group and we want to thank him for making this such an unforgettable night.Thanks againGary

I had a day off work, so popped out for lunch here one day. I ordered at the bar, saying, "For my starter I'll have the prawn cocktail please, then for my main course I'd like the sirloin steak and a side order of mushrooms." A quick aside to note that there is a small section of the menu titled 'Starters' (under which prawn cocktail is listed, of course!).After a half hour wait, I was beginning to get concerned that my food had been forgotten about - especially since the pub wasn't busy. However, a young waitress then arrived with two dishes and said, "Prawn cocktail and extra mushrooms?" I laughed and replied, "Yes please, although the mushrooms are actually supposed to accompany my main course!" The waitress looked uncertain, and replied, "Your steak is ready too - I'll bring it out in a moment."I pointed out that the prawn cocktail is listed under 'Starters' on their menu, and I had specifically ordered it as a starter. She said, "Oh, the order's gone through to the kitchen to come out all together!" I was stunned, but told her politely that I was concerned that my steak would be ruined while I ate my starter. "Don't worry; I'm sure the chef will keep it warm for you."With a sinking feeling, I stuffed back my prawn cocktail as quickly as I could, and the steak and now dried-up mushrooms were brought 15-20 minutes later. Unfortunately the chef hadn't cooked a fresh one for me as I had hoped he might - it had suffered from being kept hot for over a quarter of an hour, and was overcooked and tough. Such a shame, as that meant I didn't enjoy either my starter or main course.On the bright side, the staff are usually pleasant, the drinks are cheap and I have had reasonably good meals there before. On this occasion though, I left feeling very disappointed.

I went to the Abbey Meads for the first time, for a friend's birthday.The food was served at the time ordered, and was good for the price, and was hot. Most had three courses, and all said that their meals were very nice. The only possible fault was that the people who ordered the steak said that it was tough, thus only rated four.All in all the feeling was this is a good family pub, with good food and excellent service.

Another night of the few I have attended my local (the abbey meads) Sunday evening looking forward to my roast dinner with my family. Very disappointed is the only way I could describe my visit here on this occasion. Sitting down perfectly fine, having ordered my meal it had arrived within 10 minutes.. Fine! My partners meal was chicken which was rock hard, freezing cold and still on the bone (none of the other many food places service chicken on a bone) a complait went in and 2nd meal ordered.. Meal 2 was NOT what my partner wanted but was the only other option. Beef was fatty, hard and very unpleasant. Once again meal not to anyone's satisfaction. After asking for managements opinion we were told that no management was avalaliable to speak to.. Pudding was ordered from the start and that I must say had to be the best part of my meal.. Leaving very quickly after our meal we came home to ring and funny enough management was in the building and had been the entire time. He became very rude, aggressive and non helpful at all.. No agreement was made and the phone call ended about as successful as my meal this evening. I do not recommend nor will I be revisiting any time soon.

Great, family friendly pub with a menu to match. The prices are just right for a family meal and the food is made to order, served hot and we have never had to wait long. The lunchtime meal deals are good value as are the midweek deals with a drink included. The garden is ideal for the children with plenty of tables for the adults to keep watch while enjoying the sunshine. The bar staff, waiting staff and kitchen staff are always friendly and on the rare occasion things go wrong, they're always put right straight away. The top area can be reserved for functions and there is often live music at the weekend. I would recommend this pub to all.

Ok for a drink with friends but don't expect much from the food. Service was friendly and prompt and it's certainly not going to break the bank to eat here. The menu was basic chain pub food and even then, pretty limited. The quality of what arrived was ok and portion sizes ample but really nothing special in quality. Nothing really to complain about if you know what you're getting...I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

I am not a native of Swindon, but moved here in Oct 10 and have been visiting the Abby Meads since Dec 10, on that occasion (Christmas Eve), the atmosphere was not great, and I wondered off to other venues. However, I picked up the rumour that the Abby Meads had changed hands, and around the summer of 2011 I revisited the pub, and met Karl and Nicki for the first time, and what a difference they brought to Pub. The total atmosphere of the pub had changed, it was welcoming and you were (and are) greeted as friends visiting them (which is also shown by their staff). The Abby Meads went under renovation last summer (nice to see investment from the Brewers), which was undoubtedly due to the efforts of Karl and Nicki.The pub offers 3 Real Ales, which are changed regularly, at least weekly (sometimes less if the Ale is popular), and so I have a mini Beer Festival all year long. On the food side, I have tried the majority of the Hot Dogs (which I do recommend).The Abby Meads also has, what I call a proper Beer Garden, which is all grass, not a concrete effort.The overall atmosphere, lends itself to being a social and friendly pub, which I am totally comfortable in, and always look forward to my visit at the weekends.

what can I say its a gut buster and well worth the £5.99 service was good and bar staff were polite was early on a Sunday and beats the toby slop round the corner that I ate the week earlier.yes its a local pub and bar staff talk to them a bit more but I was happy with what I got and even happier with the food quality which I can say the breakfast was amazingly hot and well worth the money

I am not from Swindon, however, when I come to visit I always come to this pub and I always stay until closing time. The pub offers a reasonable selection of good beer at a very competitve price. The food tastes good and is always delivered to my table hot and with a smile. This is a good family pub and you'll be hard pressed to find an alternative which offers such a myriad of different themed evenings which caters for all the family. One night you'll have a band, another you'll be playing darts and another, the kids can dance to cheesy music from a local dj. Late afternoon/early evening, you'll enjoy a relaxed and quiet atmosphere, ideal for those who wish to just have a chit chat before heading out to town.

I am not what you would call a regular but have been going for 6 years with my family since moving to Swindon, we probably go 3 or 4 times a month. Nikki and Karl have turned the pub around and it now serves consistently good pub grub that the kids are happy with and enough variety for adults. The beer is good with a few real ales on offer, so more than satisfies me.They make a big effort to include people, with some good Saturday night bands, food challenges (which I have a go at now and again but not been brave enough to do the new curry challenge yet!).Overall it a decent place to have a simple evening with the kids or without them.
