A1 truckstop diner in South Kesteven

I can't leave a review on the food as we were asked to go back to the.door and remove our boots.... I have never felt so uncomfortable or been asked to remove my footwear when in a public place. I purposely stopped here as was in a lorry and felt this is what the "homely diner" was for .......... No wonder the place was empty and Greg's around the corner was full ........

Quick service but food luke warm. Good price, clean toilets, tables cleaned and cleared quickly but food needs to be warmer.

Ordered for 4. 3 omelettes and a belt buster. Plates cold food Luke warm, Omelette really dry and mushrooms had no taste, cheap sausage. Coffee good hash browns hot fried potatoes cold. Shame as the old porta cabin breakfast was brilliant. Teller couldn’t work the ordering system very well which held up the line.

I had the fish and chips today after waiting nearly twenty minutes for them (it wasn’t busy) I wish I hadn’t bothered The batter on the fish was dry and rock hard and the chips were not cooked enough I won’t be returning any time soon

I've been coming her for years and it's always been great - good choice of breakfasts, big portions, good value and great staff. However, since the new diner opened the prices have increased significantly , portions reduced and quality declined. I paid £6.50 for a No4 breakfast with black pudding. Previously this would have come with 2 lives of toast and two slices of bacon for less than £6. Now, the coffee was extra (£1.80 and undrinkable), toast was extra (60p) and there was less on my plate. The sausage was bland as was the black pudding. So the old breakfast is now nearly £10 for less. OK, it is a swanky new diner, but nowhere near s good as before for value. The owner turned up in her shiny Bentley SUV which says it all. I won't be coming back.

Best truckstop about. Everything about it is 5 star. Food is great with fantastic portions, never leave this place hungry. The ladies that work here are so nice and polite

It does what it says on the tin… feeds the many truck drivers with nice appetising food that won’t break the bank worth every penny I spent there and as a truck driver will go out of my way to go again

Not your usual greasy spoon cafe and not your usual motorway services with lots of people and queues. We ordered at the counter and the meal was delivered hot to your table BONUS. No queuing to pay with a cold meal at the end!

Great breakfasts, we always call in on our fishing trips. Very popular with the lorry drivers and they don’t suffer poor value for money 💰

Good plain simple well cooked food at a reasonable, the staff provide a friendly and efficient service, plenty of space for parking.

This cafe is in a truck stop but lots of other people visit too: I've been by car and bicycle. It's currently in a temporary building hidden from the road, but don't be put off, it's still open and still just as good. Great homecooked breakfasts and meals, with generous portions. It's not gourmet, but it's high quality. Skip the adjacent burger chains and get some proper food instead!

Stopped here for breakfast on our way down the A1 on Saturday morning. Great atmosphere, everyone enjoying their food and good banter. It is obviously a mega popular cafe. Staff are all working flat out to provide the best service. Very clean, nice branded sauces on table and tables cleared then cleaned straightaway after customers leave. Absolutely spot on breakfast, all super quality for a great price, bacon was thickly cut and black pudding was too - no thin dried up stuff here. A coach arrived into parking area at same time as we did so we made a dash for the cafe and just made it! Despite all the people arriving the cafe staff maintained excellent service and somehow served everyone really quickly. Wish we travelled down this way more often, next time we will be sure to stop here again. Well done to the staff team, a real credit to the cafe.

Fairly typical transport cafe menu, reasonably priced and prompt service. Cafe can get full of truckers and a queue. Haven't personally eaten there, but have been in many times as a pre-rideout meeting point. Toilets, limited car parking, plenty of room for motorcycles!

The only place to stop on the A1 at Colsterworth near Grantham. Although a truck stop don’t be put off as separate area and good parking for cars and with concrete standing. Plenty of seating and even a comfortable lounge area. Superb breakfasts with various range of prices. Lunches are of equal quality with many homemade dishes. All prices are very competitive. Toilets are clean. Having stopped here on many occasions during the past few years it is encouraging that the owners are very proactive in making changes should they be necessary. You certainly can’t go wrong visiting here.

Excellent food, served quickly and at sensible prices. Highly recommended. I went for a larger breakfast which was very filling but lots of different options.

On my fortnightly trip down the A1 i have tried most diners or vans between Sheffield and Sandy. A1 stadium diner wins hands down. Always a no fuss, excellent quality hot breakfast. The sausages are delicious, and you can add a fried slice for 20p. The diner is clean, the staff friendly and its great value. It is a busy truckstop, but everyone is welcome and there is plenty of parking. 5* breakfast for sure 👍

Stopped here as a meeting point with mates on our motorbikes. I simply couldn't believe the prices . Fast service great great food( the eggs were beautiful, and sausages real quality) Stunning value. We'll be back!!! Makes McDonalds look rediculous.

Was recommended by a friend to have a breakfast at the a1 truck stop. Very disappointed, went in and ordered 2 belt buster breakfasts to be told they do not serve breakfast after 2pm- it was 1minute past two that I ordered and they refused to take the order. Young girl behind the till was lovely and tried to help, the old woman in charge on the other hand was awful! What stupid mentality and Terrible customer service

With trepidation we set out for breakfast at the Stadium Diner, because we did not believe the review from a gent at our hotel. It was excellent, we ordered and watched our breakfast being cooked. Really, really nice, good choice excellent friendly staff working hard behind the counters. We will be back when in the area again, next time we will try lunch/dinner. Thank you all

Before the COVID pandemic, the dinner open at 7.00 on a Saturday, now it opens at 8.00 ☹ which is to late for me and many other HGV driver. So I now use Macdonalds in Newark instead 🙂

Have to say some of my fellow drivers are animals, the guy cleaning the showers and toilets has them really spot on but the excrement he has to clean off walls etc is shocking and I witnessed it today and this guy encounters it every day and he still managed a smile, £16 parking and a very clean shower compared to motorway services or Stobart Rugby truckstop Colsterworth truckstoo wins every time.

27 of us enjoyed a hearty lunch again here. Great variety of meals on the menu but breakfasts are hard to resist. They looked after us really well (we gave them notice of our visit from Birmingham). We’ll be back again soon.

You could say this is a hidden gem as it’s slightly off the main A1 (50m) or on the A151 that we were traveling along. Excellent fried breakfast options No1 to No6 with some belly busters for the very hungry all with tea or coffees....

One of best breakfasts in the country would recommend everybody should try showers clean parking is well organised.

Well what can I say . The food is cooked to order and tastes great. Don't be put of by the fact that is a truck stop . Everyone is welcome. And the bar in the back is good with a big tv as well.

We live nearby and use the trucks top for our tea sometimes. The food it cooked fresh and is always hot. Very good value for money. Now with the bar area at the back there is a good chance of getting a seat. Big 55"...
