Just returned from a delicious Sunday lunch. All three courses were delicious, mushroom with ciabatta, roast beef with all of the trimmings and a great chocolate pot with caramel ice cream. My husband had the roast pork and boozy tiramisu; my sister and brother-in-law both had the roast beef and B-I-L had the bread and butter pudding. We've eaten here before and it is consistently excellent. Great cooking, lovely people and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Strongly recommend it.

Just simply: perfectly amazing! From service and fabulous food, to great wine & quietly relaxing, non pretentious ambience. 99 Station Street is simply the best eatery in Burton. An amazing high quality family run outlet offering locally sourced food with each course tasting sublime. Well done & thank you guys.

Visited on Saturday evening with friends. All the food was of a high standard and we all enjoyed our 3 course meal. Prawn & Cod Terrine followed by Roast Duck and finished off with Bread & Butter Pudding each dish was delicious 😋 Nice quality wine which was reasonably price. I would highly recommend this family restaurant and will be returning soon.

What a lovely place. Friendly staff who know where their produce are sourced. Beautiful food and lovely drinks. Busy restaurant but staff have time to talk to you. Very smart and friendly waitress . Very popular and would need to book.

Visited as a group of four 25th April. Was excellent food as usual. All three courses were loved by all four of us. The standard of cooking is exceptionally high. Almost certainly the best food in the Burton On Trent area (certainly the best that we have found).

The location of the restaurant isn’t the best, but put that aside once you’re inside there is a pleasant atmosphere. Sadly food wasn’t the best tho. I had the ham cock salad to start. Came with rocket doused in Hollandaise sauce.ham hock and a boiled egg. The ham was beautifully warmed but the egg was stone cold straight out of the fridge it had obviously been pre cooked and stored. For the £8 price tag I would have preferred my egg to have been freshly cooked with a soft yolk. It would have complimented the ham so much more.. For my main I opted for the T bone steak.. I was shocked that chips came at an extra cost. The meat on its own wasn’t worth the £28 price tag. When it arrived It was an extremely thin cut that was served to me barely warm with a knob of ice cold herb butter. The butter didn’t melt because there wasn’t enough heat in the steak. The meat on its own was quite bland. Sorry to say but I’ve been served a more appetising meal at Weatherspoons and at a fraction of the price.. On this occasion I was very disappointed with the quality and value for money

We saw recent reviews on this restaurant and what an absolutely wonderful place. A lovely chilled atmosphere, the staff are attentive and friendly. The meal we had was perfectly cooked and so tasty. We had the Valentines menu, fantastic quality, and we enjoyed everything we ate. Everything was perfect, and we can't wait to come back again soon.

Fantastic 21st Birthday celebrations in a relaxed and comfortable environment. The food was excellent and enjoyed by all. Nothing was too much trouble for the evening staff. We most certainly would recommend this restaurant.

Very poor experience. Belly pork starter hardly warm with soft fat, not crispy and certainly, not freshly cooked. Sea Bass very overcooked and dry, along with dried up bacon. Pork loin tasteless and dry, accompanied with 2 small re- heated non crispy roast potatoes.(From the day before?) Lamb was likewise very bland and quite fatty. Sharing dish of vegetables seemed to have been micro waved as dish was very hot. We were all hugely disappointed as reviews were generally positive. This was our first visit and have no intention to return. In hindsight, should have registered a complaint. An expensive, bad dining experience. Need to promptly sort these listed issues out Chef /Owners!! A lack of fellow diners denotes something??

My partner and I took a friend to 99 for Sunday lunch. The greeting was warm & friendly, the staff were very attentive, polite and professional and the food was absolutely fantastic. Three of the best courses I have ever had. This restaurant is simply the best around for miles!

We came here following a recommendation and we were not disappointed. Our marker for a good restaurant is food I wouldn’t cook at home and this was way above my home cooked food. If you want a very good meal for a special occasion then this is the place to go in Burton

I have never been so impressed with a restaurant! It was such a relaxed atmosphere, the food was amazing, and the staff were so lovely. We went with a vegan friend, and as long as you mention it beforehand, they really take the time and energy to make the food great for everyone. The vegan option they did for her was top-notch! She loved it. Far from the fruit salad she usually gets. I will definitely be going again! :D Thank you so much 99 Station Street!

A first-time visit, on a Saturday lunchtime. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but once snide and seated, everything went fine. Delightful and friendly waitress. Unobtrusively attentive. Excellent choice of dishes made it hard to choose, as lots to tempt the palate. All the party had three courses, and everything came together, beautifully presented, and everyone pronounced theirs as being extremely tasty, and perfectly cooked. First class chef, Looking forward to a return visit in the very near future.

Its been a number of years since I last dined at 99 and I wondered if it was still good. Its not just good its superb. I defy you to find better, freshly prepared and presented than Head Chef and Partner offers. With Andrea up front they remain an unbeatable combination. You will not be disappointed.

Wishing to find a good quality restaraunt to celebrate a joint birthday with a friend I searched out fine dining restaraunts in my area and came upon 99 Station Street in Burton. I decided to give it a try and was not disappointed in my choice at all, clean and well presented, subtle and calm atmosphere, the wine list was impressive with choice to suit all tastes, drinks chosen we perused the menu and here I saw the first sign of a good restaraunt, concise and reflecting seasonal availability. Most ingredients are sourced locally and this is reflected in the taste and quality, particularly the meats, which are cooked to absolute perfection and melt in the mouth, I had the lamb, on the pink side which gave excellent flavour and texture, the vegetables and sliced potatoes were cooked perfectly, not on the hard side which a lot do and I dislike very much, and the mint foam was amazing! My friend had steak, which again was melt in the mouth excellent and very well presented. We also chose from the sweet options which were varied, delicious and again cooked and presented perfectly, even my friends request to have his sweet and custard cold was no problem and served just so which he enjoyed immensely. The service was quiet, efficient and friendly, exactly the right level for a fine dining establishment. The prices were very reasonable for such high quality so I look forward to dining there again and can throughly recommend it, finding fine dining thesedays can be a problem but i'm so pleased to have found such an establishment so local to myself. Thank you for an excellent dining experience.

In light of a recommendation, we visited 99 Station Street with friends. The night didn't start well as I had to clean dried sauce off the table, which I found annoying. My starter was duck, dry and under whelming but edible. I took rib of beef as a main to find it overcooked to the point of being burnt. By way of contrast, my wife's fillet steak, which she takes medium rare, was running with blood. Neither of us could eat the food and complained. We were not charged for those plates. It is certain that we will not be going again and I can't recommend the place to anyone else.

As always, excellent variety, quality and value. Thanks again for an excellent evening. Why go anywhere else in Burton, nothing compares.

Superbly Fabulous _ can't wait to head back. Extremely grateful that despite appearing fully booked online, they managed to squeeze us in at a slightly later time. Superb service with absolutely gorgeous food with relaxed dining in delightful decor... encore!

Not visited for a while, but this place is a must for anyone looking for that bit of fine dining. Both had the belly pork bites to start, very tasty indeed. Fillet steak, cooked to perfection extremely tasty beef, and reasonable priced for fillet. Triple cooked chips are a must. Bread & butter pudding/ fruit crumble to finish very nice. 3 courses and drinks we’re good value for money. Reading some reviews about the drink choices, this is a small family run business which can’t really justify having beer etc on tap, & only open 4 days a week.

We visited on a Saturday, food was delicious. Can recommend the pork loin and short rib. The homemade bread and butter pudding was excellent. Lots of drinks, 3 courses and worked out at £50 per person which I thought was excellent value. Great personable service. Have already booked to go back.

99 Station Street hosted a celebration dinner for us (just before the latest lockdown) from start to finish the service was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. Drinks were flowing, no empty glasses at any point and a wide selection of drinks.The food here is always good, compliments all round, and the steak is especially good along with the triple cooked chips, these are just delicious!I would highly recommend 99 Station Street, looking forward to the next visit!

We came here as belated birthday celebration.It was a lovely atmosphere- very friendly and welcoming. There was a good menu, with lots to chose from. I had a selection of breads as the starter. For main, my partner and myself ordered a beef sharer. It was absolutely delicious and the gravy was lovely. Unfortunately we couldn’t finish it but they were happy to wrap up the remaining food to take home- which was great! (I added it to a stir fry the next day!). We all ordered desert, my partner ordered the brownie as it was on the menu. I asked for the brownie with caramel instead. They were very accommodating and happy to do it. Overall we had a lovely dinner and a very enjoyable evening.

We visited for the first time after intending to try it for a very long time . The food was of a very high standard and the service was efficient and not overbearing . The lady serving was very pleasant and friendly. We have now booked for a return visit in a couple of weeks and we will be regular diners from now on

This is my go to restaurant in Burton for a ‘date night’. Absolutely beautiful food, a well thought through menu, meals beautifully presented. Cosy atmosphere, friendly and relaxed staff - family run. Highly recommend the bread and butter pudding and also around valentines the toblerone fondue with sweeties and fruit to dip. Absolutely gorgeous.

We received a frendly welcome on arrival. Service prompt but not rushed. The three course meal was excellent. Beautifully presented on the plate. Well cooked. We had a vegetarian/gluten free/dairy free amongst us and all were catered for. Will definately recommend to all.

My husband & I visited on a Friday evening. There was a good choice of food & drinks. Food is fantastic & staff are lovely. This was my second visit and both times I was uncomfortably cold. Will definitely visit again but in the Summer!

This is our go to restaurant in Burton which is family run. Nice calm atmosphere, good food locally sourced and nice wines. The food is consistently of a high standard. We have never had a poor dish.

Visited here for the first time on the 18th January for my Dad’s birthday as we had always wanted to try it. A Saturday evening and we arrived early, we were not disappointed at all. The food was fabulous, steaks were cooked to perfection and our children’s requests were met too. We will definitely go back.

I have now had several meals here and each time the food and service has been top notch. We visited last night and I had haggis to start, char grilled steak for my main course and home made bread and butter pudding with vanilla custard for dessert. Once again the food was excellent. I highly recommend restaurant.

Ok I’ve been meaning to try this place out for years, oh boy have I missed out !! Usually dine at the winery , dial or Miller and Carter. Not overly busy but near to pay day and Xmas credit card blues looming lol Ok me and the wife had soup and the goat cheese for starters both excellent. For mains we had fillet steak med cooked to perfection with a cracked pepper sauce and the wife had the duck cooked to her particular liking. We had a bottle of Argentinian Malbec very nice and smooth.For pudding we both declined as full and went for an Ameratto coffee to finish. Service was second to none as the owner waited on us all night not rushed at all and we were the last couple in there. Will I be back for more delights you bet I will !!!!! We booked a few months back to come with friends for a Christmas get together. Our friends had never visited before and none of us were disappointed.We had a lovely greeting from a young waiter, who showed us to our table. Once the menus were handed out her returned with 4 glasses of mulled cider, was very unusual but very warming.The soup was declared to be fabulous, rich and thick, whilst the trio of salmon with a deep fried king prawn was to die for, I'd happily have had this again!!The Bromley Hurst steak was beautiful and cooked to perfection. The pork looked lovely and was declared the best yet by one of our friends. The roast potatoes were crunchy outside and soft and fluffy inside. The veg was ok, but the carrots far too Al dente for our liking.The bread and butter pudding for desert was nice, but a little too sweet and needed more bread as it was slightly eggy. The cheesecake was described as a disappointment, but we all are every bit!!Small but good wine selection and at £30 a head, excluding drinks, it was excellent value. The chef is extremely talented.We will definitely be back!

I took my husband for a date night, It had been somewhere we had been meaning to go, but how disappointed we were, the wine was not chilled and the food was really not worth the money, the steak was thin and had a funny smell, you had to pay extra for chips which were soggy, I had the pork which was tough and tasteless. We go out a lot for food and have had better pub meals. We didn’t have a sweet because we just wanted to go, £74.00 down the drain, we will not be returning.

We visted this restaurant with the TravelZoo offer of half price for two courses from the summer menu. I had the pasta for starter, salmon for main and a sticky toffee pudding for dessert (off the main menu). All three courses were very good, they were hot and the service was good as well, not rushed. They accommodated changes such as using the main menu (though the offer was for the Summer menu) and gave full benefit for the offer price without a problem. The only downside is its location, its not a very good area and some way from the centre of town, but it is close to the railway station which might suit us for lunch. The parking is free in th evenings on the local roads. We shall certainly go back to this gem of a restaurant.

Just eaten in the 99 and must say it was superb. Black pudding starter was perfect with apples and a great sauce. Duck breast mains with red Cabbage and a side of fresh veg... Perfect. Nice small menu, good manageable wine list all served with a smile. Definitely be back.

My wife and I were visiting friends in Burton as we both live in Bromsgrove. Our friends chose the resturant and none of us had ever eaten there before.

This was our first visit and pleased to say the food exceeded our expectations. Our compliments to the chef and his team. The lady who served us was very friendly. You can tell that it is family run everything was done with a passion which is rarely recreated in the bigger restaurants. Thanks for a brilliant night.

This Restaurant is so well worth a visit. The surrounding area is a bit run down which is a shame as this restaurant is a class above. We had a deal for four people 3 courses and all the meals, were served quickly, food was hot and it was all totally delicious. Cannot fault it. I just do not know why more people are not grabbing this deal - I've been twice in a week - now that speaks for itself.

Attended this restaurant with a Travel Zoo offer, 2 x 2 course meals for £21. My wife and I both had soup and salmon whilst our friends had a salmon and a pork main.

Have wanted to try this restaurant for ages so when I found a Travel Zoo offer I bought it (4 people, 2 courses, £40.95). We had to choose from the summer nights menu which looked good. The starters were okay, 2 chicken terrines, and pasta and a soup. The main, mixed; the chicken quite good, the pork was okay and the salmon was almost cold.

After walking aroud Burton (and taking i some very unflattering scenery) we eventually found this place by accident. Thankfully it was a happy mistake.

We went here this week, to celebrate a friends birthday as we had heard about it. Wow! What a find, loved it. The service was excellent and run by a lovely family. Very attentive and personal. Food was superb and we are already looking when we can go back as we had such a lovely time. Thank you and see you very soon. The New Zealand wine (my favourite) is also excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant. Do not be put off by the surrounding shops.. Once you get inside it is first class! :)

This restaurant is out of the way and probably a lot of people do not even know it exists. As we entered we noticed the front door needed a paint and the glass needed cleaning. This is very important as it creates an impression. With an hour of someone's time this could be dealt with. The restaurant itself needs updating but do not be put off! The food is delicious and the service excellent. It offers great value for money - a hidden gem in Burton upon Trent

My husband and I visited for his birthday meal after a long absence. We will not leave it so long next time ! Very good service and exceptional food. My husband loved his ribeye steak and my salmon and prawn dish was lovely also. Add to that the bread and butter pudding and the cookies and cream cheesecake which were also delicious. The food is also reasonably priced for such a highly rated restaurant. We shall return.

We had a booking elsewhere, but 45 mins before our meal there was an area electrical outage, so we were cancelled. We found this restaurant, they had a table and saved the day for us. Although Burton, like a lot of our country needs investment, this place doesn't, it is smart and the service and food is great and all credit to our host and chef. We all had 3 lunch courses and empty plates were sent back to the kitchen. If you are in the area, you will get a good value and very enjoyable lunch.

First visit to 99 Ststion Street, we have passed numerous times and looked through the window, Not disappointed Food delicious, the best Bread and Butter pudding and Custard I’ve had in a very long time, service very attentive, Decoration very modern, atmosphere friendly.

We visited last night and I was slightly disappointed by the restaurant. On arrival my guests were offered a complimentary glass of mulled cider, which was a really nice start. It could have been a little more fancy with some added fruit but was still a nice touch. When I asked what was available for the designated driver I was told nothing and the waitress walked away.

Not a great first impression when the waitress looked like she didn't want to be there.

Friendly welcome good service we went with a Groupon voucher which was great value 50% off a 3 course meal. The portions are small I asked for bread to accompany the starters for all 4 of us which as around £4 extra . Good quality food well presented

Had a great meal with great wine. My only criticism would be that the ravioli was a few minutes undercooked and so was the duck Brest. Other than that all was fantastic

We came here for a meal tonight for me and my mum. The restaurant was very inviting, clean and had a lovely atmosphere. The menu spoilt us for choice! The food was absolutely outstanding! I have never had pork cooked to such perfection, and the rice pudding dessert was to die for! I will absolutely be coming back, and I'll be telling everyone I know!

Went here on Groupon deal . It's a small place a bit out dated but the service and food was good . The portion sizes were a bit on! the small side but still tasty. They don't do draught beer only bottled and a select few at that.

Excellent value Groupon deal for 4 diners considering how good the standard & presentation of the food on the set menu was. They were very flexible about ordering from the al a carte menu for a reasonable supplement.

My wife and I have visited 99 Station Street several times and with a Groupon it is excellent value. The staff and service are first class and the food prepared by Dan the chef excellent. We thought we might be on our own as it was a Wednesday but the restaurant filled up very soon.

Couldn't fault it. Service was excellent, food absolutely lovely and we used a Groupon - don't understand why everyone's not using them - it was such a bargain - and the best meal I've had out in a long time. Will definitely return.

We ate at the 99 Station Street restaurant as part of a special family celebration. The menu had a good selection of courses and there was also a summer special menu to supplement the main menu. Our group were a mixture of vegetarian and non-vegetarian diners. This was also catered for. Overall we had a very enjoyable evening and will be back in the future,

Went here for birthday meal. Food was very nice although not a great deal for the money. Ambience let it down overall outdated decor background music random expected it to be busy on a Saturday night didn't really need to book a table. Chairs need an update as not particularly comfortable bum was numb when I left and was only there for just over an hour.

I can't fault this restaurant. Three of us had lunch today from the a la carte menu, and every dish was really good. I had ham hock and salmon - both amazing. Well cooked, hot and / or cold as appropriate, and lots of it.

Visited with family I did ask prior to ordering if a prawn cocktail could be done. Which was agreed so delighted when it arrived the prawns were warm in a cold sauce possibly the worse thing I have ever eaten. I love cold prawns but cannot eat cooked warm or hot ones. When mentioned this was received with a shrug of the shoulders. I ordered a fillet steak which was expensive medium to well it arrived cremated so tough and chewy I couldn't eat it chef needs to realise customers tastes are key I personally would not recommend this to anyone

Sunday lunch today. My partner had soup which she said was delicious. I had goose breast as a starter. Beautiful delicate flavour on a bed of light salad with a complimentary light dressing.

Took a gamble on this place and it paid off. Food was lovely and service was attentive. Will definatley be back.

Visited here last night with my lad, new partner and his son. The food was spot on. I had the halibut with beetroot, fennel and truffle oil and it was outstanding! The boys enjoyed their steaks and chicken strips. The desserts were also spot on, my ice cream came with birthday candles....a lovely touch. I thoroughly recommend this place for anyone looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion.

We visited again recently for a Thursday evening meal. No discounts, packages or vouchers, so full pricing (£22 for a steak main course is high in London).It became apparent the usual team were just not present (it would be useful to know this on booking) and food returned due to poor quality or preparation (bread not fully defrosted, “triple cooked chips” clearly dipped once in oldish chip fat) by us and the only other table occupied. Service was friendly but inexperienced. It’s a shame as we were always advocates of this place. The groupon vouchers seem to have appeared recently which is sadly always indicative of footfall challenges. I’m not overly surprised based on this latest visit.

Visited with my wife on a Saturday night, we initially found the restaurant hard to find, however we found adequate parking on Mosely street and then walked round to the restaurant which is on the main road.The restaurant is very cosy with a contemporary feel, which is shown through the décor.
