Lovely food Nice people Got there at around 6 pm which was probably why I was the only person there.

It was a nice experience eating from the shop. Nice biriyani. The gravy with the biriyani increases the taste. Also the salad( raitha). Meat was less but it's ok. Chicken fried rice was outstanding. Rich with meat. Nice flavour. One of the best Indian food in Clacton

The food here was out of this world, these photos are from two separate occasions and on both visits the food blew our minds. The different cuisines is definitely something we will have to explore on our next visit! The service was brilliant and my partners steak had so much flavour, I’ll definitely be getting that instead of the chowmein next time, although even that was probably the best I’ve had! it isn’t that difficult to find it’s just between the two arcades and you do have to go up some stairs to get to it but definitley worth it!.

To be clear, I did order from your restaurant and the food was absolutely disgusting, I am not trying to destroy your reputation, the person you have hired as a chef is already doing that for you. The purpose of this review is to highlight that you are using fake reviews to hide the fact you sell terrible food and I don't want people getting ripped off and I also believe in holding people to account when they use fake reviews to defraud customers. As a digital marketer my Spidey sense always tingles when I see reviews like this place has. So I ordered a tasting menu and here is what I found. 1) Chicken Katsu. Very nice and a decent portion for the price. Meat slightly dry. 2) Biryani. Truly terrible with tough meat that tasted like it has been reheated, tiny pot of curry sauce that had a high saturation of ghee. 3) Chicken Chow Mein. Edible but not on a par with a half decent Chinese restaurant. Not sure it was even cooked in a wok on super high heat 4) ordered from the pasta menu but. Ended up with dried lamb meat in a thick sauce that had lots of red food dye in it. Just about edible. So my Spidey sense was correct. This business is creating fake reviews, I would give this place a generous 3 stars but because they game the reviews it gets 1. If you ever want to suss the fake reviews look for excessive 5 stars, look for people that review 1 or 2 times or hundreds and hundreds of times usually in a combination. Some with pictures some without abd almost always have owners responses. When you don't see any negative reviews or if they are buried that is also a tell. In addition look at the names of the people who are leaving the reviews and click on their profiles. If they leave nothing but 5 star reviews you know they are not accounts

Unassuming restaurant tucked away between the arcades on Pier Avenue. Very easy to miss. Reading the great reviews we decided to give it a try. We arrived early and it was quiet as it was a weekday after the summer holidays, but we were looked after very well by Tia, who was very friendly and attentive. Both the starters and mains we tried were delicious and cooked nicely. We would return again if we were in the area.

Was staying in Clacton, so found this place through the Internet. This place can be quite hard to find, as it would look like it's part of the arcade! There is a big board outside though pointing to it. The waitress was very friendly and chatty, we ordered two prawn dishes, but came up was chicken instead, they replaced these with the right order in no time and then we had one too many rice's to our order, so that then had to be taken away. Was a little bit funny how it got muddled up as at the time we was the only ones in the restaurant lol. But more importantly our food was delicious, no complaints there, very tasty good size portions and reasonable price. Would come again.

Our first visit and what an absolutely wonderful experience. The best food that we have experienced in a very long time. We had a friend visiting us from Henley-on-Thames, who was really impressed, as we were too. Simon was very attentive and friendly. There is a function room which we didn't go into, but I am confident that all would be good in there too. What a gem of a find - we will, without a doubt, be eating there again. Highly recommended for anyone wanting that special meal.

Food was lovely. Feel of the venue is a bit basic and background music a little out of sync with a restaurant feel. It’s upstairs and not accessible (that is obvious). Impression was that it did more food delivery than in person dining. But service was attentive without being overbearing. Menu was not excessive which speaks of a chef who is in control. Food was provided in a timely way and was well presented. The taste was lovely. Definitely heading back here.

Friends took me for an evening meal, we all ordered different starters and mains. We al tried some of each other's and all of them was superb 👌. Our waiter was simon who was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about food. He also had great customer service and very witty. Will definitely be returning. Would thoroughly recommend trying. Delivery time was spot on! I ordered the Beef burger with some salt n pepper wings (which were 1 but get 1 free) and the food was delicious. Burger was juicy and full of flavour and the wings were crispy and really delicious aswell. Thankyou I will be ordering from 9flags again.

A must to try the food, food was great . Don't go on old reputation, host was friendly and welcoming and helpful. If in a group and you need more than one type of food this is the place to go.

I visited 9 Flags this evening fancying a curry and was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome by the lovely attentive staff. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and the decor was bright and inviting. Only drawback would be the stairs to get up to I was amazed by the wide varieties of cuisines from the four corners of the world. I chose a lamb jalfrezi with paratha, it was absolutely delicious the meat was melt in your mouth and the flavours were exquisite. Definitely on of the best I've tasted I will most definitely be back to try some of the other dishes from the wide variety on the menu Very reasonably priced as well, really good value for money. I've eaten my fave vindaloo in some of the best supposedly restaurants across the country. 9Flags without a doubt cooked the best I've ever had today. My son also said his sweet n sour chicken was the best he's ever had. A little jewell of a restaurant you could easily walk past and miss. So glad I went I found it and will be back. The only place il be going to when visiting Clacton and eating out

Fisrst visit was disapointment, we came to reception no one was there, we were calling "hello someone's here?" but no respond so we took menu and sat behind table. After 5 to 10 minutes we call again if somebody there but nothing, so empty even staff was not there so we left. Next day we gave it another chance, this time staff was there. Waiter was very talkative and friendly. But we were only customers so he was hangin around our table all the time even when he brought food on table still standing there asking questions and talikng, not really comfortable while you tryin enjoy the food. However the food was DELICIOUS! I had chicken in blackbean sauce it was very nice, chicken was tender but not dry, blackbean sauce was really full of flavours, balanced beautifuly. So delicous, we decided to go there again two days later. This time we've been told they upgraded the menu but only thing which was UPgraded were prices. For example soup was £4.90 and now £8.50, after 2 days (maybe we shouldn't have mention we're from London on working trip, at first visit). Anyway place was empty again. I had chicken katsu curry which was not that good, curry sauce was delicous, on side there was pickled daikon or radish very nice as well, but hero of the dish - breaded chicken was disaster, 4 small slices of minced (hopefuly) chicken breaded in some regular / cheap breadcrumb, for sure it was not panko as it should be. Wasn't worth the price at all.

Used trip advisor to see a good restaurant in Clacton. We were a party of 10 and staff were very welcoming and food choice and quality was excellent.

The delivery driver was quick and friendly - but unfortunately the food wasn’t up to standard. The Singapore noodles were made with Linguine not noodles! The crispy chill beef wasn’t crispy. We had to pay an extra delivery charge, which wouldn’t have been a problem, except we had to go find the delivery driver!! And finally, we spent £80 on Chinese for a big group of us and unfortunately we did not receive any prawn crackers (every other chinese we’ve ever used has thrown a bag in with such a large order!) Overall the 2 stars was because the driver was friendly and it wasn’t a very long wait - not overly impressed with the food from here - would not order from them again.

Stopped here for lunch. Had a great burger as did my wife and the kids enjoyed a very nice curry. Great prices for lunchtime specials. Menu choice is fantastic. Will certainly return.

Didn't like the atmosphere, waitress was very forgetful, My starter ( chicken basilico) was amazing !, my sons starter of Korean chicken was amazing, and he had a lamb/rice dish for mains , also amazing. I had szuean (can't spell it) beef . I'm sorry but that wasn't that !!!!, ive had that dish a few times in a Chinese restaurant. We ate dinner here tonight , the place lacks any atmosphere, very basic service , forgetful waitress My sons food was AMAZING!!! My starter was AMAZING!!! My main , not so amazing , I ordered beef szechuan, now I've had this dish before in a Chinese restaurant and it was gorgeous and flavourful . This , tonight was not , it tasted of nothing , the chef tried to explain to me , but I'm sorry , that wasn't szechuan, BUT having said that , everything else food wise was lovely, reasonably priced , and a HUGE choice , we will be returning .

I came from London to Clacton on Sea to visit my father in law and as he wanted to eat Indian curry I ordered food from this restaurant via deliveroo, it took 20 mins to arrive and the food was amazing, everything we ordered was delicious . It was one of the best Indian curry in long time.

A wonderful place to have Indian food! The taste was really really amazing! The ambience was cozy and friendly. The staff was very friendly especially the girl which was serving us was very polite and cute 😊! A must visit place if you want to have Indian food in Clacton.

WOW. Just tried for the first time this evening and will definitely be back soon. when I called to book I was asked if there were any allergies. we were greeted immediately and showed to our table. The chef came out and explained how the restaurants name came about and if we wanted anything else off menu he would also be able to accommodate. The Sushi roll, mozzarella sticks and the Gyoza was the best we have tasted. The main courses didn't disappoint either. All staff were so attentive throughout and made my mum whose birthday it was so special. My only regret is I had not visited sooner.

When I first sat down at table I was a bit hesitant. But when food came out it was well presented I had 5 kids with me and they all finished every bit of food. The waitress Martha was very helpful and the chef came out and greeted us and asked if their was anything he could of done better. I said about a kids menu and he said he has one and anyone can ask for anything if he has it he will do it. Next time I’m in clacton I’m definitely going back. Lovely staff and chef

Found this place by chance. So glad we did! Food here is amazing.. Should be 5 star! The shop is on the 2nd floor opposite Magic city. The location may be a little hard to find. 9/10 Food taste 10/10. Service staff 10/10. The chef is very cute. He came to ask about the taste of the food ♥️

Walked past a few times, then decided to go in with the family today. The food was amazing, with something for most tastes across the extensive menu. The staff were helpful and knowledgable about the food being served. The chef was very attentive making sure all the food was cooked to our liking. Very impressed overall, would recommend this little gem in Clacton above the arcades to anyone. Can’t wait to visit again.

Had dinner here and it’s lovely and straightforward - wonderful range of options! Had the chicken sweetcorn soup and prawn pad Thai - and it was excellent! Attentive and friendly staff, lovely relaxing venue. Found the stairs a challenge but I have mobility issues. The place is well worth the effort on the stairs and the waitress made sure I was OK. Definitely want to go again!

A second visit but this time with family. To say that they were impressed would be an understatement. They were blown away with the food and value for money together with excellent attentive service. We shared a mixture of Asian style dishes including Singapore noodles and Nasi Goreng. Every dish was delicious, well cooked, well seasoned and ample portions. Ignore the rather easily missed entrance, go inside and be amazed.

9 Flags Cafe & Bristo in the quaint Clacton-on-sea area is really a must-go-to restaurant! The Asian/Oriental food is absolutely delicious!!! There are many varieties of dishes to choose from (vegetarian options available). We had lunch here (3 weeks ago, on the hottest day in July) after a lovely stroll on the seaside. The air conditioning in the restaurant felt so good! The decor is very pretty, exotic South Eastern Asian themed, clean and spacious. Simon, the friendliest and helpful waiter (and manager) is very well traveled with many years experience working abroad. We had very interesting conversations with him. There are separate toilet facilities for men and women just outside the restaurant. The restaurant itself is situated amongst the amusement arcade building. (There is a board outside and the name of 9flags on the small narrow door). You have to walk up a steep flight of stairs to reach the restaurant/toilet area. I couldn't see any lifts for wheelchair or pram access. There is no onsite car park for customers for the restaurant either (though there is one for staff only at the back). Highly recommended you give this restaurant a try when you are in the area!

Don't be put off by the somewhat off putting entrance, a door next to an amusement arcade. Go in, up the stairs and you are met with a lovely clean and calm restaurant area. The menu is large and very varied with worldwide cuisine choices....

Delicious food, expectations weren't very high for "a bit of everything restaurant" but every dish we had was delicious. We had pasta, fajitas, Bangladeshi curry, a burger and quesadillas and all were amazing and Simon our waiter was so friendly, very kind, and always asking for feedback about the food. Absolutely recommend, will be coming back again!

Save your money and go buy a microwave meal cos this is what it is here. It’s all reheated low quality poo. If you want a proper Indian or Thai just go to a proper restaurant. No wonder they have a wide variety it’s all cheap, reheated rubbish

What a hidden gem, probably walked past it a hundred times and never noticed it was there. Recommend by a friend and to be honest I was a little sketchy when I see the vastness and size of the menu but the food and service was impeccable. Waiter went through each dish with us and tailored it to our request in terms of spice ect ( this was a massive plus as it means everything was cooked fresh) the chef even table checked us at our desserts to make sure the food was what we expected ( also see him do this with other tables too) could fault it and will be returning
