Visited this cafe today for breakfast - it was delicious! A gorgeous little community cafe- everyone was made very welcome. Very busy, which speaks volumes! Would definitely go back on our next visit to Surrey! In fact, would you like to open a cafe in my home town in Yorkshire!!

Ordered a banana milkshake. What came was milk with artificial flavouring. No real banana or icecream to make it thick. Also served in plastic glasses which was unnecessary since we ate in, should have been glassware to save the environment. Also was very expensive at £4.50. I hope the cafe will take this on board and produce a healthy, tasty milkshake using real ingredients in the future. It is a simple fix.

Ordered banana milkshake expecting milk with ice-cream and banana. Sadly there was no banana or ice cream in this milk drink. It was sickly sweet and was milk with either banana flavoured powder or syrup. Very disappointing. £4.50 for milk and sweet flavouring. We ordered in but were still served in plastic disposable cups to drink in. Why were we not served in glasses?

The reviews of the location encouraged us to make a booking for breakfast prior to us enjoying our extended Bank Holiday . The actual location is of a pleasantly surprising size . Two “ Sally” breakfasts ordered along with two coffees . Breakfast looked and tasted deep fried. Fried eggs took a hammering. Taste not good at all. £32 pounds . Will never return.

This cafe is a ‘Little Gem’. We decided to get the family together just after the new year for an afternoon lunch and this place seemed perfect. We phoned in advance to book the table For 12 and they were very helpful in getting us all sat together even after adding an additional two seats on the day. Our food was amazing!!!! The children ate all theirs even though the portions weren’t small and there were no complaints from any of the adults. In fact after finishing our meals we decided to stay for another drink and once our food had gone down we couldn’t resist staying even longer for desert. Well worth it, the sponge puddings were amazing. So we would like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff for their great service and excellent food and hope to see you there again soon. What a great start to the New Year!!

We got off an overnight flight from Boston and had arranged to meet a good friend somewhere near the airport and he found this great place. We met for breakfast, a great rendition of the classic 'full English' accompanied by great coffee, followed by home made cakes. What a fantastic start to a trip home to England. It is 10 minutes from Gatwick, but not on the flight path, you don't hear the planes and has great character. I'm planning to go back.

My wife and I chanced upon it on a morning ride out.It is set opposite a cricket ground, the road is not too busy and you can see the planes landing at GatwickThere is a small amount of seating outside, so as it was a nice day we decided to sit outside. Inside the cafe has a pleasant beachcomber vibe - light, airy and clean.A decent menu is on a chalk board and the staff were happy to wait as we made up our minds. My wife opted for omlet and I had sausage and mash + a tea.The food was served good and hot and the helpings were generous. The tea came in a pot and there was enough for 2+ cups. The choice of food and the quality once it came was lovely. Service was very friendly but a bit slap dash. I got most of the things on my breakfast! It was also a bit slow with my sons milkshake not arriving until we had nearly finished our meal. The giant yorkshire with bangers and mash was enjoyed by my husband, he particularly liked the gravy - lots of onions. The chips with the other meals were lovely. Lovely setting but was very cold, the dogs running around being continually berated by the staff was a bit unusual although we didn't mind and my son was particularly entranced. Will definitely go there again as it was lovely food at a good price with a bit of interest thrown in. Brilliant Cafe. The old Pine Cafe was a personal favourite but 52 The Street goes to a new level, and seemingly without the quite as frequent invasion of cyclists and lycra!Always friendly service, lovely set up, relaxing decor, interesting side products but still keeping a wide range of drink options and extensive food menu, all reasonably priced and all good-sized portions. Haven't tried the new burger yet but perfect from tea cakes to toasties to macaroni cheese to omelettes and a really good range of children's options and bigger dishes and specials if you want them. Now takes credit cards so easy place to stop. Only slight issue would be the general one around parking in Charlwood but we're lucky enough to be able to walk.Concept is well thought through, great addition for Village. I was astonished to notice that 52 The Street hadn't yet been reviewed for TA, so I thought I'd better do it. Went for a weekend lunch recently and had a thoroughly good time. The menu is q bit more extensive now with quite a few extra hot dishes on the carte. We had an egg mayo baguette and a burger and chips (a new addition to the menu). the burger was eclennt - succulent well seasoned meat, lovely bun, and appropriate accompanyments. The coleslaw tasted homemade as did the egg mayo mix. The chunky chips were too much for me and I only finished half. But perfectly cooked. The 2 cappuccinos were delightful. The cafe was very busy when we went in and service was intense all through. We did have to ask for cutlery whereas other tables had theirs brought. The seating is well layed out with a great range including large tables for groups and families, sofas for coffee heads, and 2 cover tables for couples.A really welcome addition to the Charlwood landscape.

Great, simple and inexpensive but delicious pub grub. Staff were welcoming but genuine, dog friendly, and board games available to borrow!

There is a really nice atmosphere in this café which has expanded in recent times. The background music is at a pleasant level for chatting and the food very good-the vegetarian open sandwich was particularly tasty.

Reviews seemed good so gave it a spin. Asked for half pounder with cheese and bacon & chips. Rather than be told they don't do half pounders, I was served up two super skinny burgers, exceptionally dry, nothing special, minus the bacon. Took almost 15 minutes to come out. Disappointing. The salt lid wasn't properly secured, went all over the chips rendering them inedible. No offer of replacement. Left hungry. Won't return, poor quality food and equally poor service.

I’m a local dog walker and use Ashtead cafe regularly, always find customer service is 10/10.. thoroughly enjoy a fry up and absolutely love their smoothies! It’s recently undergone a refurb and it looks amazing double the size and very Morden!

Great cafe in the village, have been in several times for warming coffees / hot chocolates in the winter and iced coffees in the summer (and always enjoy their fab cakes!)
