Siempre estoy buscando un lugar nuevo para probar, ¡así que lo intenté aquí! Jelena mi camarera fue muy amable y hablador. Pedí un sándwich de pollo y unas patatas fritas gruesas. Pareció tomar un tiempo, considerando que solo era un sándwich y papas fritas, pero entonces Jelena me preguntó si me gustaría que el pollo estuviera caliente o fresco, ¡ya que el chef lo acababa de cocinar! Un toque encantador. Dije cálido, y luego llegó mi sándwich. Poco tiempo después llegaron mis fichas. La única razón por la que no doy un 5 hoy es que las papas fritas estaban exageradas y muy saladas, ¡pero aún así recomendaría una visita!

Estuvimos aquí para asistir a mi fiesta de Navidad el sábado. La comida era excelente y su personal no podría más para nosotros. Las bebidas tenían un precio razonable y te encantan las bebidas que ofrecen en la mesa. En general, lo pasamos muy bien y volveremos el año que viene.

Nos quedamos con el hotel por un par de noches. Siempre un gran desayuno. La segunda noche de la noche, pensamos en probar el restaurante. No reservamos, pero eso no fue un problema en absoluto. El amable bar y la camarera fue una alegría. La comida que pedimos estaba recién preparada, y deliciosa. Ambos tuvimos la oferta especial 2 curso para 20. El vinagre balsámico sobre la ensalada comenzó fue tan bueno. Tuve el paté de hígado de pollo y el pastel de carne y riñón. Ambos muy sabrosos. La próxima vez que estemos despiertos volveremos a comer. Gracias Hayley

Nos alojamos en el hotel y probamos este restaurante. Las comidas eran sabrosas, sirve bastante grande y el ambiente es muy agradable. El personal también era genial.

The local seafood on the menu all sounded good: I went for the seared scallops with cauliflower purée and black pudding: it was outstanding. The pressed duck confit with glazed shallots and toasted onion bread starter was also excellent.

My dinner at this restaurant, attached to my hotel was very satisfactory and contradicted my expectations given the other reviews on this site. I ordered the carbonara and the house burger and the pasta was better of the two dishes. It was well seasoned, and I found it very easy to clean the plate. Furthermore the bread that went with the meal was perfectly crisp and light. The burger was also enjoyable, the thick chips that accompanied it were in fact very good and I was relieved when the waitress brought a large portion or tomato sauce , contrary to the practices of many restaurants. The meat was a little over cooked but was substantial, and the bacon complemented its flavour well. The cheese was an acquired taste but overall, with a nice salad dressing in the pot of leaves, it was a good burger. The decor was good, chair comfortable and service excellent. The food also took not too long to arrive. The prices were a little high for the product and area at £15s a main but improved at £20s for 2 courses or £25s for 3 courses. I recommend the restaurant and bar area to those of whom are concerned. JP

Stopping at the copthorne for 2 nights while visiting family in Plymouth. Had a family event to go to and we thought we would enjoy a nice meal in our restaurant. We was wrong. The service was terrible and the servers were rude. We asked what the wait time was as we had to be out at an event. To which the waitress 'KiKi' replied "just normal". We then proceeded to order our food and asked if we could have it all together because of the wait time.. both the two waitresses who was serving us 'kiki' and 'simona' didnt understand what we was saying and had to get another person to ask us to repeat ourselves. A further 40 mins later and our food hadnt arrived. Our appetisers and starters arrived without the mains at to which point we further asked for our mains. They finally came out and wasnt bad food tbh apart from my undercook chips.. but we was on a schedule so I didnt dare send them back. Wouldnt recommend it here and wont be stopping again. With my fiance being a chef, we are highly disappointed.

Having seen the menu was really looking forward to eating here but firstly the service really let it down. Waitress did not have a clue about what was available on menu and how it was priced due to set pricing for 1,2 or 3 courses. Finally placed an order and received food which was very disappointing mentioned it to waitress when asked and she just laughed. Manager came over after waitress told her she couldn’t remember if I asked for dessert menu, she advised poor service was down to waitress being foreign....really? For a restaurant that was basically empty the service and food should be miles better. Will be staying and eating elsewhere on my next visit.

Here on business for 3 nights. Ate in the restaurant the first night. Steak and kidney pie was good, came with chips and peas. The gravy made it, lovey. Whilst I was there, a customer complained about his sirloin steak saying it was "full of grissle " unfortunately, the member of staff didn't understand as they were foreign. It went from bad to worse with communication, the chef wouldn't redo the steak, the customer was getting load etc etc. So the moral of the story is, if you have customer facing staff, make sure that speak English... Well.

Enjoyed our evening meals.Tasty food and decent portions. Friendly service and had to wait a while but we were not in a hurry. Had to ask for a pin code to access the toilets.

Restaurant inside the hotel, not a great route in for external guests down the stairs. The restaurant is neat clean and clearly refurbished - views over the adjacent car park is a shame. The atmosphere is a bit sterile (the hotel factor), however the food was pretty good, and the service fine. Quite bizzarely you have to obtain a PIN code to access the toilets - I understand this is to deter people coming in off the street to use them - but it seems overkill. Needs some work to make the atmosphere and facilities more welcoming.

Essentially a good style of restaurant. Excellent service and for the most part enjoyable food. 3 small fails which I feel are worth nothing considering the prices there are areas that need refining and sharpening. Firstly. When I order a main meal with what was a bear empty restaurant I did not expect a 30 minute plus wait. However this seemed to be a one off. I stayed 2 nights and thought I might like the soup. Sadly on day 2 soup of the day was soup of yesterday so not wanting to eat the same soup twice it was declined. Finally and this is a small gripe. I received gravy with my pie which was ostensibly hot water and colouring. Nothibg exciting unless you want soggy food. This was duly returned to the kitchen and a new one was prepared. Even though the gravy was very tasty I am not sure a beef stock red wine flavour should be going with a chicken pie. White wine creamy sauce would have been Ideal. The food on the whole was good but should be excellent. Finally. If you fancy a fried egg in the morning for your breakfast. It seems not to be on offer only scrambled. Small tweaks and this restaurant could be excellent.

Went for a catch up and coffee with an old friend today and to have a look at the bar and restaurant, I must say that it looks lovely and very very long overdue however the coffee on the other hand was very poor! Both rounds of coffee took far to long to come especially considering we were the people ordering at the time, I ordered a large latte and a large cappuccino and got two small cappuccinos, both came with a free biscotti’s which were rock hard and inedible I guess that is why they are giving them away.

Me and my partner decided to try out something different for breakfast the other day on the Friday, as we had a day off and wanted to treat ourselves. Being a local and having heard about the renovations I was extremely exited to see about what they had done to it! Well to my surprise it was looking absolutely amazing and upgraded to a more fashionable and modern look, most certainly made me feel as though I was in a high end location. After coming in I can’t but praise the amazing staff whom welcomed us,in particularly a really bubbly Eastern European lady, whom made us feel most certainly special, for what we just thought was, another breakfast. The breakfast buffet was extremely well organised, well presented and it showed a fantastic selection! There was most certainly something for everyone. The food was very nice and tasty, again, high end products all the way. I myself have been to many different countries including Spain, Italy and the Netherlands and I am very gutted that even the 5 star hotels I have been to didn’t pay as much attention to me as the staff at 50 degrees north did, constantly checking that our coffee cups were full and that we had enough juice, absolutely outstanding!

For a decade and more the Copthorne at the north end of Armada Way has looked drab, outdated and run down. The restaurant was dull, functional and unattractive. If you had a friend or colleague staying you would badly want to take them to an outside place to eat. About a year ago the hotel exterior was cleaned and smartened up, there has been work on the communal areas and many of the bedrooms brought up to date. A significant effort has now been made with the restaurant.
