I am not normally a fan of fast food restaurants, but for various reasons found myself in the Five Guys branch in Kingston. Seeing their French fries praised in newspaper cuttings stuck all over the walls, I decided to try some. You order and pay at the counter, then wait until your food is ready for collection. The wait was short, I received a huge portion of chips which were actually so much more tasty than I had expected. You help yourself to as much ketchup and mayo as you like, and then you gorge yourself. Don’t expect any ambiance in this kind of place, but eating the French fries here was an unexpected pleasure!

The food here is excellent and worth the price. Everything fresh and tasty. The problem is it is already a noisy place. And as they shout your order number to collect your food…. why on earth do they shout randomly to each other in the open kitchen? One guy in particular. It is really annoying and frustrating as you can’t tell if they are calling numbers or just being annoying.

I thought the burger & fries were pretty good, but as SO many other reviews on here state.... the price is high (for what it is). One thing to watch is that the already high-ish prices listed above the counter do not inc. VAT, so your bill will be more than you expect. I know that adding ‘sales tax’ at the till is a very American thing, but we’re in the UK.

So this is an American burger chain that prides it’s self on customer choice and all fresh ingredients. You order your burger and add whatever additional ingredients you want from a big list - somewhat daunting the first time! Your burger is then built for you and you wait for your number to be called.

I've been here a number of times as I love the milkshakes. I get cherry and strawberry with cream on top. They could be a bit bigger for £5.50. They also don't have spoons for the whiped cream and they should for that price. I get the small cheese burger and with small chips thats plenty of food. The burger is good with lots of toppings. Could have some more unique sauces though. Its very messy so grab lots of napkins. The fries - small fries will serve 2 are ok but very greasy, it sits on my stomach after as it so greasy. The toilets are large and clean and staff usually friendly, they have a big tip jar (which I dont like) but majority of people don't tip so theres no pressure. The mayo and ketchup you help yourself to which I like. For what it is its just way too much money. If I go back its just for the milkshakes as they are so tasty. But I can find a better burger and fries cheaper. If they just lowered the price and made the fries less greasy Id be back. Its the most expensive burger joint around here that Ive been to. Food I would say is 3 out 5 but expensive pricing pulls it down to 2 out of 5.

A cheese burger, then you get to choose your own toppings from a selection menu, I liked that you could choose as many as you wanted. My daughter ordered us a small fries to share, I thought we had good appetites, but we couldn’t finish them all. We were given our empty cups to help ourselves to drink. People know what they are getting from 5 guys. Its not somewhere you book up in advance, or take a lady on a date. Its a fairly well priced quick bite. Lovely burgers every time. Service is always fast, but the prices have been creeping up of late. £3.50 for a drink cup, is a bit much, especially as a normal person would do well to even refill it once, having eaten a burger from here....not to mention fries. I love how "little fries" are the size of 3 portions of mcdonalds fries lol. And the "little" burgers are basically the normal size burger most other places like GBK or Bryon serve. I feel the prices for the burgers are pretty fair considering this....but you can sit in the other places i mentioned, and it feels quite nice. 5 guys is not a place to sit for more than a few mins. Its very basic looking, and not at all pleasant to be honest. Bit like Burger King or Mcdonalds. So based on this, they should either smarten up the venues, or make the prices a bit cheaper i feel. Great food though, and well deserving of 4/5

The burger seemed very dry with no flavour and the bacon very crispy and tasted of grease. Not what i was expecting at all. Maybe it was just Kingston branch. The 5 Guys in Kingston is situated right next to the Odeon cinema, and a stone's throw from both the bus and train stations. Great position. We went in before going to see a film, and ordered burgers, chips, shakes and Coke. All very simple, all very tasty and all freshly prepared. The boys said that it was 'the best meal I've ever had' - which is a fairly oft' repeated claim, but still praise indeed. It reminded me of burgers I used to have from a small chain called Uncle Sams in Brighton: limited menu of, well, burgers and excellent chips. Those who ordered Coke were impressed by the sophisticated machine offering a gazillion different flavours (or should that be flavors?) even though they took it in the Classic form. The shakes were also reputed to be excellent by those who ordered them. Finally, the burgers are doubles, unless you order 'small', and are huge. The 'small' ones should be fine for most people, but since I was a 5 guys novice, this was not something I'd anticipated. That said, the two 10 year olds were very happy with double burgers. The only gripe is the cost: it was literally twice the price of McDonalds. Now, to be fair, it doesn't pretend to compete with McDonalds and the product is sublime by comparison, but it's still a lot to shell out for a takeaway burger joint with four kids.

I've been here twice now and am still not quite sure what to make of it. The feel of the place, with the bright decor, loud music (too loud for my daughter), plastic seats and food served in brown paper bags and drinks in paper cups feels just like a McDonald's. But the food is top quality, with the fries crisp and their skins still on and milkshakes so thick your jaw will ache. That said the prices are steep, what you'd pay at somewhere like GBK where you don't feel like you're in a cheap fast food restaurant and get wondrous things like plates, cutlery and a waiter/waitress! So while the food is good here, it feels odd to pay the same prices as a mid range burger restaurant when you feel like you're in a cheap fast food chain. That said, it's probably just not for me!

Portions are generous so one portion would do for two, but get a portion each as you may not want to share.Summary:Surprisingly good, although the service is not particularly fast, but that's because they are cooked for you and not pre-prepared. We popped in to Five Guys as a family of four, before seeing a moving at the Odeon upstairs on a Saturday afternoon. It was incredibly busy when we arrived, however we still managed to find a table, which was clean and large enough for the four of us. There must have been 15 groups in the queue, however we were served within five minutes. It's fast service. The drinks options are GREAT - I DESPERATELY want one of those machines in my house; just add a prosecco option and I'd be set! We waited a little while for our food, but no longer than ten minutes and you would expect to wait this long in a restaurant, so this was no biggie. The food was fantastic. I am not a huge fan of fast food and will often steer clear of burgers on a menu - they're not really my thing - but these were fresh tasting, juicy, tastey and there is a huge mix and match option on fillings. I had mushrooms and grilled onions on a cheeseburger and it was just great. I didn't want the burger to end. I would, however, agree with 99% of the reviews below, that this place is VERY expensive. Initially it didn't look too bad, with the burgers coming in at around £8-£8.50 for adult sizes and £4-£5 for children's. Then we realised that the burgers do not come with chips, so you have to pay for these separately. Furthermore, the milkshakes do not come in kids' sizes, so after the children spotted them and immediately asked for one, we realised they were an extra £5 each. For a family of four, the bill came to £55, which is extortionate for a fast food joint. This is definitely a treat place rather than a regular stop off. Food is really good - far better than any other fast food place on the high street - but it's far too expensive.

I have this 4* for what it is - a great fast food joint! This particular five guys never seems to fill capacity - which is a major bonus as most chains you can barely hear yourself think. And the drinks machine is just - well ... try it for yourself!

A truly awful place to eat. Brightly lit. Hard seats. Filthy, slop covered tables. Staff who think they are working somewhere trendy instead of a rip-off burger joint. The food is unremarkable in every way. At least the peanuts are OK.

It is difficult to find such a good quality in a burger shop. Fries are delicious, like home made ones. Burguers are really good, and there is a veg burguer option too!.

Enjoyed the burger which was juicy and well cooked. The fries were also really nice. Portions were big - a large fries was too much for two ppl! The only issue really was that it was just too much money. The prices on the board don't include tax I don't think, which bumped up the final price and for pretty much a fast food joint £30 for two people ( a burger, fries and drink) seems expensive.

Tasty burgers but overpriced , paying £13 for a burger, fries and coke from a fast food shop is a bit extortionate. High quality and the choice of 15 free toppings is a bonus. Free peanuts while you wait.

My first time 2 couples away no kids! Fancied something easy before our music gig and we decided burger I had never been here before, the service wasn't what I call American attentive or friendly I felt rushed and unimportant tbf ! Mcds customer service is much better, I didn't feel the quality of the meat was that great either the cheese hadn't melted because the food wasn't that hot I couldn't distinguish any of the toppings they all tasted like one big mush ! Upside was I could have beer with my food, 2 regular burgers 2 small fries and 2 beers for £35.00 served in paper is nothing special ! I have been told there's one in Manchester where I live I won't be making a special trip there just run of the mill ! I prefer ED's !

It's better than McDonalds and in many respects just feels like a more upmarket version of said brand. Personally, I think there are better burgers available for similar money elsewhere. Byrons, most decent pubs and even GBK.....

Delicious burger and the fact that you can personalise it with up to 15 different things for no extra price is amazing. One of the nicest burgers I've ever eaten. Too expensive over all though

The difference between Five Guys and the rest of the fast-food chains is that you actually get a burger that looks just like the picture on the menu. Whats more it's exceptionally tasty with fresh ingredients.Prices are far too high for what you get though so this will stop me visiting regularly.

If you have had enough of the over sized, stacked burgers provided by some of the other "premium" burger restaurants and you are after a good, tasty burger then take a trip to Five Guys. You can customise your burger with any of the "free" toppings and you can wash it down with a beer if you so choose. The fries are skin-on and made from real potatoes... they are served by the truck load too.The down side is the pricing. For me and 2 boys (7 and 12) it was almost £40 for three burgers, fries and soft drinks... but you do get the tastiest burger in town so I could look beyond that. The restaurant is no frills and has a 50's Diner feel and can get busy because it is located right next to the cinema, but again... you do get the tastiest burger in town.In summary, if you are looking for something burger like to eat and don't want to be presented with a towering structure held together with sticks and flags that you then need to use a knife and fork to eat... go to Five Guys.

This was my first visit and I really enjoyed my burger and cajun fries. As it was a Bank Holiday it was very busy and popular with families. Not for anyone with a nut allergy as they fry some items in peanut oil and there are complimentary monkey nuts.

No time to decide what's the best so we just went for it. Not amazing at all, patty is just dry, bun was OK just luke warm but not the softest and fluffiest, sauces were just wrong. Sorry Five Guys, I'll always stick to Shake Shack.

Ohhhh lets not forget the FRIES! Perhaps the best I have had - taste, smell, look, feel. Perfect. No sauces required - that's never normal. Now the burger - expecting good. Got great... Don't come here if you're on a diet or ummm 'not that hungry' because you leave disappointed and 'feeling fat.'ENJOY.

I am not a burger person. I could net get anything else quick before going to the cinema. I was surprised how tasty the burger was. You choose the toppings and it is cooked and prepared to order. Then Wrapped in foil and given to you piping hot in a bag. You get two burgers in the bun. Ididn't have chips so can't comment. But while you wait you can help yourself to free monkey nuts which were delicious.

We have been regular consumers of Take Away deliveries from Deea, with a high level of expenditure over the last few years. Last night , March 16th 2024, we ordered a delivery at the cost of £88. Firstly , a king prawn shashlik dish @ cost of £16 approx. one of the most expensive dishes on the order , was not delivered. I rang the restaurant and it was delivered , albeit later than the original order. Then my daughter found a black hair in her vegetarian dish,. I rang the restaurant again, and the manager rang me back shortly afterwards to say it was a hair from a brush they use on the Tandoori grills. He sent another replacement . By then it must have been some time after the original delivery and my daughter would not trust the food again, feeling quite ill at finding the hair , and of course by the time the replacement dish had been been delivered again, it was all to late for my dinner. waiting for the prawn dish and hers, it felt like money wasted . Ok, these things happen people might say , but when you spend £88 ...not unusual for us with Deea , it is not unreasonable to expect due care and attention. We will not be ordering delivery from Deea ever again. Just not good enough or acceptable standard of service. Very careless and poor customer service.

Having been to the Carluccios in Richmond recently, the Bentall’s branch in Kingston felt like the poor cousin. The portion sizes of food were smaller and the staff serving were not attentive and kept trying to push add ins like a salad or bread. We were not enthralled and having been going there for years and years, it sadly is not how it used to be. The penne Giardinea, their signature dish, you have to find the courgette balls! Tiny and sparse. This used to be such an incredible dish.

We got our 8 pizzas gradually over about an hour. My friend had to wait more than 30 mins for hers and everyone else had already finished when it finally came. No apology either. The pizza itself was dry and only had 2 slices of mushroom on (I wouldn’t have listed it as a topping for just 2 slices of mushroom!) - wouldn’t go again
