Carluccio's - Bentalls in Kingston upon Thames

Having been to the Carluccios in Richmond recently, the Bentall’s branch in Kingston felt like the poor cousin. The portion sizes of food were smaller and the staff serving were not attentive and kept trying to push add ins like a salad or bread. We were not enthralled and having been going there for years and years, it sadly is not how it used to be. The penne Giardinea, their signature dish, you have to find the courgette balls! Tiny and sparse. This used to be such an incredible dish.

Never again service very slow but this was nothing compared to the earwig that was found in the dinner absolutely disgusting Official complaint has been submitted

The restaurant was very busy but the waiter said rather vaguely that he had a table available and turned away, we assumed, to show us to the table. We followed, only for him to begin serving customers at another table, leaving us standing in the middle of the restaurant. then, another waiter rudely told us to wait so we explained that his colleague was showing us to a table and we gestured to an empty table. He then rather brusquely told us in a loud voice that they were for bookings and that we had to wait by the door. At that point I told him no, we would be eating elsewhere and promptly left. We are long-standing Carlucci's customers and usually enjoy the experience. We were due to have a lunch and also buy two panettones for Christmas but now we won't be going to Carluccio's ever again. Appallingly bad service.

Have been coming here for years, Covid stopped our visits, On our return were thrilled to see Adrian M was waiting to welcome us. He has been a waiter here for years, friendly and welcoming. Attentive and professional. Traditional breakfast, beautifully cooked and presented. Coffee delicious. We always call in on a trip to Kingston. Delighted you are still in store.

We used to be HUGE fans (and regular customers every month) of Carluccio's in Windsor & Bicester before they closed their doors for good. We were therefore really pleased to see Carluccio's inside Bentalls on our first ever visit to the shopping centre Oh how their company staff standards have sadly dropped in 2 years. The welcome we received was aloof and incompetent bordering on downright rude. We arrived at 1pm on a Saturday. There were multiple empty tables (on rough counting we saw 40-45 empty seats). No one greeted us so we attempted to sit down on an empty table by the door, suddenly a waiter arrives and says "oh you can't sit here it's reserved" before he walked off, We got up and continued to wait by the greeting stand eventually another waiter came over and asked us to return in 15 mins as no table was available. When we asked about the multiple empty tables he said "they were all booked" We stood by the door and waited 15 minutes until 1.15pm. During that time 1 single guest arrived and was told the same thing we were, to "return in 15 mins". After 15 mins we went and found the chap who had sent us away and he sat us on the original table that we had tried to sit down on 15 minutes before!! This really was like a carry on comedy caper. On a more positive note the food was served swiftly and was delicious albeit the portion size of the chicken Milanese was half the size of what it used to be in Bicester & Windsor and the Caprese salad ordered had been forgotten from the order. Come on Carluccio's, get some polite, friendly, welcoming, professional staff in the restaurants you have kept open, don't cut costs by cutting back on portion sizes and bring back the good old days of warm welcomes from the teams at Carluccio's Windsor & Bicester that we remember so fondly.

My daughter was back from university for two days and she always asks if we have the time can we go to Carluccios for her go to favourite, lasagne. She was not disappointed. A large glass of wine and lasagne, happy days. The only thing that let it down was the atmosphere. A Saturday lunchtime you’d hope it would be busy and buzzing. The staff felt a little flat too. And the Carluccios shop at the front looked sparse too. I hope it is not heading to closure?

Through OpenTable, I arranged a restaurant booking with Carluccio’s at Kingston Bentalls at 4.30pm on Wednesday 4th August 2021. My partner and I walked in, hoping to enjoy lunch together at Carluccio’s. As soon as we entered at the booked time, a man at the bar did not come and greet us but yelled from a distance that “the kitchen is closed now”. In response, I told him that I have a reservation for 4.30pm. The man approached us and again stated that the kitchen is closed and the restaurant closes at 5.00pm. I questioned this while showing the man my booking confirmation email, and he stated that he will speak to a manager. He returned after a few minutes and stated that the restaurant was aware of my reservation but blamed his poor customer service on OpenTable, stating that it was their fault for allowing a booking close to their closing time. Suddenly, the kitchen was now miraculously open for another 30 minutes to “accommodate us”, but we would have to leave within 30 minutes. The man stated, “will you be able to order and eat everything within 30 minutes?” After hearing that rude and obnoxious comment, we walked out as we felt extremely offended. It was obvious that he was relieved that we chose to decline, absolutely terrible customer service. There was no sincerity in his words and I do not recall him apologising. If the restaurant was already aware of my booking, they should have done their due diligence and contacted me to let me know that this was going to be an issue, perhaps they were hoping to make a quick buck and get rid of us within 30 minutes. We have had no issues in the past using OpenTable and this experience has tainted our opinion of Carluccio’s in Kingston Bentalls. We were treated poorly and we will not return ever again.

First to time to this restaurant and to a Carluccio's restaurant for a while, food choices, quality and prices fine, very good fixed price menu. However, service was disappointing, long wait for starters and chicken was missing from the salad main course.

Less impressed each time I have have been which is a shame -dined twice there for lunch ,in February, meeting up with friends.The staff were generally inattentive and seemed unfocussed and had to be asked to bring us water, slow to return to take out order and by 1pm on the Sunday the Lamb Shank was "off the menu"?We were offered another Lamb dish from the Valentine's menu which was OK but my lamb was very pink/red and couldn't be eaten. When plates were collected the waitress asked if everything was OK seeing the lamb..when I told her it was v underdone, the reply was "Oh!" ...nothing else!The fresh parmesan blocked was shaved onto the pasta with bare hands around the parmesan??- not good! Won't be in a rush to go back there again!

After posting a negative review in September, we visited again. What a difference! We had the same tuna arbruzzese salad as before, only this time we had much more than just a bowl of leaves. All ingredients in abundance and the service was very good. We have been coming here for many years and delighted that we feel that we can continue.

I have been coming to this restaurant for several years with my partner and alone when shopping in Sutton. It has been excellent in terms of service, food and drink until about six moths ago and from then on has been going steadily downhill with slow service and items on menu unavailable. Also, customers are no longer served by the same waiter throughout the meal: this is not because the shift ends but because he suddenly switches to the other side of the restaurant. The result is poor communication and an impersonal atmosphere. Yesterday at midday was really bad. Service was slow and the staff were inattentive, not making eye contact so that they had to be flagged down like taxis on a busy high street. This was not their fault as they were clearly overstretched although it was well before the 1 o'clock rush and the restaurant was by no means full. There are far fewer staff than there used to be and that is the root of the problem. Please get your act together or you will lose loyal customers. Six months ago I would have given you five stars. I would love to be able to come back give you a 5 star review later in the year but you really need to address this serious problem of rapidly declining service.,

Sat down to have coffee with my family. Coffee was fine just as expected but the waiter could have been the manager was really rude kept coming to our table to ask if we’d like anything else no thank i replied. But he kept coming a total of 5 times and would rudely come and kept asking when we would leave and if we’d like the check now. I have been going there regularly but would never go back to such a rude poor service.

It’s always been a good chain. Always consistent with the menu and service but on this occasion we felt we were an inconvenience sitting outside . Had to go in to find someone to order from and to pay. Not the first time we’ve felt they staff not on form. Won’t stop us going as it is reliable for a decent quick feed just have missed the fun Italian cheery staff this past few months - and the same in Bentals also .

Visiting Bentall’s Carluccios for a quick pre-theatre supper I ordered the chicken and pancetta salad which I thought sounded delicious. The avocado was brown and tasted disgusting on the first dish I received. Feeling rather embarrassed in front of my friend (who I had not seen for over a year) I sent it back. The next dish was equally revolting, this time with green but mushy/watery avocado, and a number of pancetta cubes that were so charred I could not eat them. I was too embarrassed and short of time to return this dish but should have done. Very disappointing.

I met my son and daughter in law for lunch. I had the chicken and bacon salad. It listed red onions and I asked for them to be left out. They did but added spring onions instead! I hate having to pick out bits of food before I start eating My son enjoyed the beef Ragu, sadly getting cold by the time my salad arrived My daughter in law had a starter, not sure what it was, but she took one mouthful and left it. My son had a decaf cappuccino, she had Coke and I had a latte I was astonished this came to nearly £45! Oh and the service was slow and we had to ask for cutlery. Disappointed

Taking a break from retail therapy to drop into Carluccios within Bentalls department store is always a good option.Friendly staff, sometimes it’s hard to catch their eye to get their attention, but due to them being busy not ignoring you. Penne Giardenia, their signature dish however came up dry this time. And the spinach balls in the dish have definitely got smaller.

Absolutely amazing lunch. Focaccia sandwiches stunning. Brownie again stunning. Service was spot on couldn’t do enough for us. In fact so good I even got a cook book to try focaccia bread at home. Cant wait to return.

We have visited this restaurant many times over the years and always pleased with staff and food.However, we went on 2 Sept and both had the tuna arbruzzese. We needed a magnifying glass to find the potatoes, the tomatoes and the tuna!I hope this was just a “one off” or we will find somewhere else.

Went for lunch Tuesday with daughter. Starters of Bruschetta and Arancini, lovely, even with a wait! Mains: daughter had veggie balls and seemed happy, I went Swordfish, totally over cooked and left majority of it, no money taken off bill, so didn’t tip. Be better serving such an expensive dish with coating and just griddled, coating overcooked it in my opinion. Lovely waiter, but not happy when I mentioned fish overcooked. Would go again, but stick to pasta!

The only thing good remaining of this restaurant is a part of the old team that used to be working in front of the house. With all the new management and new menu full of herbs ( which is not that italian ) i guess they will literally destroy the reputation of this chain too . Pity! Soon they might change the name to Bella Italia or something ! Feel sorry for the regulars who feel this and what used to be a fav place for them to be is turning into a „ No thanks „.Good luck to staff there .

Just visited lunchtime with family . Good service and proper full of flavour authentic Italian dishes cook to perfection. Great visit .nice atmosphere. Will be back soon

I’m writing this review with gratitude as reviews I don’t usually commend.

I wanted to grab a quick dinner on my birthday, and I happened to be in Bentalls with my son so we popped in.

Every few months for very many years I have met a good friend for lunch at Carluccios in Bentall, Kingston upon Thames and every time we have enjoyed the Verdure Board (sharing vegetarian platter) and a glass or two of the house wine. Over the years the platter has varied a little but was always a delicious and tasty treat and something we really looked forward to. Yesterday, sadly, the platter was no longer on the menu at this branch of Carluccios so we shared a couple of starters which were ok but not really what we wanted and a little bland in comparison. I can't begin to understand why they would remove what I'm sure was a hugely popular dish (particularly among meeting girlfriends and mother/daughter unions) from the menu and would be intrigued to be offered an explanation. I am sad to say we won't be going back to that branch.

This has always been a popular branch of the Carluccios chain, right in a busy department store. But today was not a good day there. Maybe understaffed? The food a bit cold? Abrupt service and hard to get their attention. I am hoping it was an off day as with the Carluccios Teddington branch closing this is our next nearest.

Been to Carluccios for years and i must say that the key to the success of this place is the fact they employ the best staff there is to find , people who care about they’re job . Always a pleasure to be in this branch of Carluccios . Great job team . Staff makes people to come back for more .

The food is consistently good here. I chose the three course festive menu and the rest of the family chose a selection of pasta, salads and puddings. All were delicious.

The staff are kind, work together well and always available. The food comes out quickly and is of excellent quality.

We had a meal here last week with my sons one who is a very fussy eater. The manager came over and was more than happy to accommodate all his needs with the dish he order like it was not a problem at all. This is true customer service at its best and we will definitely be returning. Thank you for making a normal stressful event being one we enjoyed :)

I went to Carluccio's in Bentalls today for lunch with a friend. We had a great time, we both had Lobster Lasagna which was delicious and the wine that the waiter Ricardo recommended was spot on. But the best part was the warm welcome and service we received from our waiter, Ricardo. He was attentive without being intrusive and even pointed out a 10% discount on the deli section. We will definitely return and I can highly recommend this place, food and service.

I went shopping in Bentalls Kingston today , stopped in Carluccios for a quick breakfast , had classic magnifica it’s a kind of full brunch ,it was one of the best that I ever had and the service was amazing, I was served by Ricardo a nice and really friendly Brazilian waiter that went out of his way to make me fell special !!! Well done carluccios I will be back

I have visited your restaurant today and I was so pleased with the service and the meal I had to write a review.

We just been to your restaurant in Kingston, we had a great time and I must mention that I am very faussy and almost never satisfied with restaurant food. The service was a bonus on the top. Josif and Ricardo we’re both extremely efficient and lifted our moods with their cheerful attitude.

We frequently go there for a quick bite at lunchtime and the place has proved to be remarkably consistent. The quality of the food is very good for a chain restaurant but don't expect Michelin Starred food there. The staff are always polite, welcoming and efficient and we shall continue to go there for a light bite at lunchtime if we are in Kingston. It's considerably less crowded than the branch at Charter Quay.

Good for a quick lunch Meal. Food was good the set menu was good and filling.soup was nice but heavy for lunch.

My wife and I met some friends today initially for a coffee but ended up staying for lunch. What a lovely meal, especially the rosemary potatoes, well cooked hot and our waiter Adrian served it with a smile and was very chatty and friendly

I met a friend for lunch today and we had such a lovely lunch, good bottle of Scilian white wine and great service. Both our meals were hot, tasty and filling. Our waiter, Iosif, was attentive, amusing and polite. Definitely a great lunch

We have only visited carluccios once before, which was in Windsor years ago, and it was awful.

I was with my children and parents who are seniors : they wanted to eat something quick

Always get a warm welcome here. Good quality food with very pleasant staff always willing to put themselves out.

Nice greeting and seating with the manager, down hill from then on. Waiter was slow to take our order, people who arrived after us got to order first. I ordered eggs ‘diavolo’, my glamorous co diner ordered a veggie breakfast. My eggs, fried, turned up with one yolk broken looking like it had been dropped from a height on the toast, the veggie breakfast turned up cold with one of the poached eggs solid, neither plate should have crossed the pass. We sent the veggie breakfast back, it was replaced 10 minutes later with something perfectly cooked, why couldn’t they have done that first time? We ended up eating at separate times. Hard work to get the waiter’s attention to get the bill. All in all disappointing when it needn’t have been.

Visited for lunch with a friend having decided to give it one more chance. The food on a previous occasion had been dreadful ( straight out of the refrigerator and not at room temperature). This time the food was good. We shared a platter of salamis and vegetables but when we asked whether we could replace the bruschetta with pâté we were told we could just have the pate on its own.... it arrived in a small bowl looking a bit like a dog deposit. The real problem was the service. Whilst not overtly rude, our waiter was off hand and not welcoming. Whilst I don’t expect fake chirpiness, I do expect a pleasant dining experience. The waiter kept coming over to see if we had finished our meal when it was patently clear we had not ( the restaurant was not even half full). He must have come over at least 5 times. This is the first time in fifteen years that I have not left a tip but on this occasion I was so annoyed that both my friend and I are were both in agreement it was not deserved. It is a shame as in the early years Carluccios was a nice place to eat but not this branch and not anymore. Won’t be returning.

Had lunch today in this restaurant with my wife whilst shopping in Bentalls. Ordered some food and wine. The wine arrived in due coarse and i queried with the waiter that the bottle had already been opened. He informed me that this was company policy which to be frank I cannot understand. Upon reflection I should have refused the wine as anything could have been in the bottle and I do not mean just wine. needless to say I will not be using this restaurant again and have informed Head Office also.

Sunday 12.30, the restaurant seemed quite quiet compared to previous trips but not been in for a few years I don’t think.

Had a nice lunch here today nice ambience and delicious food.I had the veal in red wine sauce with saffron rice my daughter had lobster linguine both were delicious.

Decided to treat myself to a late lunch. I was welcomed warmly but it was presumed that I was with someone when it's was obviously only me. The restaurant was not busy but after 10minutes of no service and watching a couple who came in after me who get prompt service, I decided to leave. Not impressed!!!

What a delight of a place . Carluccio’s was and still is my favourite place to start my day of shopping and for that reason I brought my friends for a brunch once again here.Superb, service and food spot on with loads of goodies to enjoy and that Deli is full of nice products for everyone s taste. Lovely service from the deli staff really helping when one does not understand the Italian names but loves the products of Italy. The legacy of Antonio Carluccio’ is a gift for all of us . Will definitely be back soon . Thank you Family of Carluccio’s.

Great customer service. Really good atmosphere just before Christmas and a nice break from shopping in the Bentalls center.

Buzzing with people. Great food and helpful waiter. Was with a friend who has a pine nut allergy and they couldn't have been more accommodating with the food to avoid pesto and provided alternative dishes that came within the sharing platter.

Really made to feel welcome, and it was quite busy.

We decided that have a sit down and have a drink and cake. We got a table immediately, we waited and waited to have our order taken in the end i went and asked for our order to be taken.

It was a stressful day for me when I basically eat everything I see. After a quick munch in Pret I was looking for something more sufficient and ideally with a bright light to read a book.

In a few words, this venue exceed my expectations. Me and my girl went there for a quick bite and...

After shopping yesterday before driving home decided to have something to eat . My son ordered the veggie ravelio & I had the seafood linguine , talk about quick as it came in about 7 minutes. Looked like it had just been heated up in the microwave. Very dry and just horrible. Our waiter didn't even question that my plate was full still . My son ate his but that was because he was so hungry!!!! Even gave the waiter a good tip but only because I've been in this profession and know that it wasn't his fault. Will never ever go back such a waste of good money.

Carluccio's in Bentalls is a great place to go for a mid-morning coffee break when shopping in Kingston. It's quiet, and you can sit, relax, place an order and get served in a pleasant environment. The standard of the coffee is excellent (one of the few places) and the pastries are fresh and well cooked. Most of the staff there are excellent - friendly, and adding to the overall pleasurable experience.

Spending my lovely day off in Kingston had become a custom and being in Bentalls really can make the day with shopping and good time , what can a woman want more. That lovely place can only be topped up with in my opinion the best dinning experience that I had in UK in a long 3 years since I live here. After a tired day one can only choose a good option for dinner and that option for me which never had failed me is :Carluccios In Bentalls. Outstanding experience together with the best Italian products , those goodies from the Deli too, not forgetting to mention that lovely deal we had today : 11,99£ per person for two course meal ( which you don't see much around here ), topped up with a good joke from our server , really makes me believe they enjoy being there in the service of people . Sad to see a few complaining about this place which in my view has no faults whatsoever, but guess one can t make everybody happy no matter what one does . Kids are very welcomed in here and spoiled with that set meal they do for them and always there's space there for everyone. I believe that a good service should be made from the heart and with a smile and yes you do see that a lot in this establishment. Good to be back here , feeling special and well treated. Thanks you for your effort guys. We'll be back .

Terrible overpriced food, and dreadful service, do not waste your time and money coming here, Carluccio has sold out at this site

Carluccios in the Bentall Centre is frequently visited given its convenient location today is no exception. A special offer of "Swordfish Muddica" was on the menu and the two of us tried it. Brilliant, genuinely well prepared and beautifully tasty. The breadcrumbs around the fish was superb. Personally the green vegetable and rocket could have had some tomatoes added. But that is churlish. This is a dish well worth placing on the main menu. As usual the service was good and the meal overall excellent. It is why we keep coming back. And just in case you think all is brilliant here, at times comment has been made. In most cases to our satisfaction at other times it ends up as the difference being a matter of opinion. Most importantly we are valued.

Food was good but there were hardly any waiting staff to cover the tables. This resulted in a long wait for order to be taken & waiting for the poor hard working waiter to find the time to come to us so we could pay the bill.

Because we were with four friends and the mood was good. Many restaurants must rely in this syndrome, but l am making our feelings felt now in the hope of improvements. My meal was chewy prime rob, l ate two thirds and declined the dessert I'd paid for. Two vegetarian friends were disappointed by their poor stuffed peppers but the worst problem was mussels order and left uneaten by my wife, they were stale. This order was on the verge of appalling but, as you will understand, we were with friends and did not want another bitter taste on top of the ones we had in out mouths. Come on Carlucchios, it was poor value at best, but poor ingredients will come back to haunt you!

Great place to stop for lunch whilst shopping in Kingston, lunch menu is reasonably priced with a good range of choice. The service was very good as was the food. Give it a try next time you are shopping in Kingston.

One cannot miss the opportunity once you are in Kingston town to have a quick look into the Bentalls Centre and not paying a visit to a Classic. Yes ,for me as I visited loads of places around the world, places like Carluccios,specially this one in the heart of the commercial centre ,is without a doubt a classic of the new modern era of restaurants which provides food and great smiling service( which at times is hard to get around), and they do it without effort once again to prove that they master this art of providing a service for the people no matter rase or social status. I see a lot of common faces every time I go there so that means they work a lot with regulars. I must admit I literally love they're pasta, seems effortless to make a simple dish with such a lot of taste and character,together with a nice glass of white Sicilian special wine recommended by my lovely smiling waiter Iosif which made my day so much better after all the shopping stress from that centre. Finished my lunch with that bread& butter pudding Italian style which my server convinced me that is made from heaven.I must say that this place is a must for everyone and I will definitely coming back . ❤️

I had lunch with a friend . We opted for the set menu . She had starter and main course .. I had main course and dessert . We were going to share the starter and dessert . Our waiter had already assessed this and bought two plates without us asking and then two spoons for the dessert . My water was topped up even before I realised I needed it . This type of service needs to be commented on . Food delicious too .

Had a delicious Eggs Florentine and my friend had a Carbonara. This is a very pleasant spot and it seemed very popular. Richard was our server and he did a good job!

A very welcome spot to stop for coffee or have a lunch while shopping in Bentalls. The seating is comfortable and well laid-out, the food is always excellent value and quality, and the staff are mostly very welcoming.I recommend the Bicerin for an after-lunch shot of caffeine and chocolate!

This is always a popular venue. We chose the Ravioli and Calamari both of which came promptly. With a glass of Prosecco and a cappuchino to follow we enjoyed a pleasant lunch.

We went early and the place was very quiet, service was good, eggs benedict were excellent and good value.

I have being tempted to visit this restaurant inside the commercial center many times and so I did after my wife's insistence, without a doubt that was a cert, after seeing a few reviews online I was a bit skeptical about it but decided to give it a try . Outstanding: from the start as we walked in and being revived by a nice tall chap very smiley and fun with my kids,we were shown a nice table and to my surprise the place was packed with other families with kids, was impressed with the staff s attitude towards all the people coming in and I was starting to feel a bit awkward for doubting about the place after looking some bad reviews made possibly from a bad experience which does not represents the place at all. Glad to see my wife's face as she tasted those tortellini with venison , and I must say that having a set meal for a few quid is just great . Good job lads . Glad to go back anytime there, thank you guys .A little mention to our server . Great with kids and great humor . Outstanding!

First time visitos. Good menu reasonably priced. Very busy but service is good but with a longer wait between courses than we would appreciate. However, will certainly be going back. Food is delicious

Always have a coffee light lunch here when in Bentalls, staff mostly friendly and can manage a smile if busy and NOISY, not the place for a quite conversation. Really found the staff so miserable and unwelcoming on our recent visit I wanted to leave immediately, left waiting to be approached,we had to ASK if we could sit, chatting at the till, there are other places of this ilk in Kingston. I have never found this in other branches, where indifference and miserable staff wait on you. It was 11.40 am not busy, so why? Maybe it is time to start some staff training in this branch.

Very popular and busy Carluccio's restaurant in nice setting in Bentalls centre. Sadly though they are resting on their laurels. Very mediocre today indeed. My Carbonara was luke warm .. wife's soup had unwanted pancetta. Coffee was too bitter to drink .... not the first time I've complained about this .... deaf ears!!Lovely polish waitress helped.

It looked like it had been dropped onto my plate from a height before being put in a microwave! Very disappointed!!

A nice place to grab a bite to eat and the food is pretty good for a chain. The set menus offer better value for money, especially if you are hungry.

Christmas shopping can be a real nightmare so when I had a trip to the Bentalls Centre in Kingston Upon Thames, I decided that we'd better start it off by having a good lunch.Carluccios, on the 4th floor of Bentalls store, was the perfect choice. I was shopping with two of my grandchildren. As they're now at the age where they can eat adult-sized portions and they know what they like, we decided on two portions of lasagne and one seafood linguini. Great tasting and good-sized portions helped set us up for an afternoon of shopping.The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive (without being too "in your face") and the meals were delivered quickly without them seeming rushed out.It can and does get busy in this restaurant but people seem quite content to wait 5 or 10 minutes, if required. We were lucky and got shown to a table as soon as we'd arrived.Priced reasonably, the food and drink on offer are great. But, you also get the added advantage of having a range of produce to purchase (including a current Christmas-time discount) after you've had your meal.If you want a good meal (with absolutely amazing coffee) before a shopping trip in Kingston, this is definitely a place to consider.

I decided to go somewhere for a small, sweet breakfast. I always enjoy that coming Christmas time and I can have my favourite Italian cake - toasted Panettone with butter, marmalade and very good small espresso. Exactly what I wanted today, very friendly welcome for customers, excellent service from a man Iosif. He knows how to take care about customer and also make them laugh anytime. I've been here quite a few times, I always find it to have a nice atmosphere and good staff. The last time I went I had a great time. If you don't get them when they are doing a offer it can work out to be quite expensive. However it's a nice place to have a treat.

A very busy morning and we were just calling for coffees but got forgotten twice. I had decaf Americano which was strong and quite bitter - unusual if it was decaf. Staff friendly enough but a bit busy so had to chase up our orders and bill a few times. Not as good as last time or as others in the chain

A Christmas shopping extravaganza at Bentalls put Carluccios under pressure. They responded admirably. Enjoyable food with welcoming and appropriate service. No not five star but giving the customer what they want, very good for what they profess to supply.

Sadly we will not return to any Carluccio's restaurant. We have had lunch for years in Carluccio's in the Bentall Centre and have watched the portions getting smaller and smaller. The new plates look good but this is not enough to satisfy your appetite.The lasagna dishe is tiny ( not the prize) and the spaghetti carbonara small ( not the prize). This is a real shame because the venue was one of our favourite.

Fabulous Meal out. Food was lovely. Even in a busy half-term everybody was seated quickly. Food came with 15 minutes of ordering. Staff are all very nice. Special mentions go to Iosef I think his name was. Lovely man and very funny made our meal very enjoyable.

Visited on 22 October prior to a shopping expedition. Oh dear, big mistake! Shown to table promptly but then waited c 10 minutes for someone to take our order and then waited and waited and waited! Finally after 40 minutes or so the food arrived - stone cold. We'd had enough - called manager over to complain and then left. Don't bother! Focus on lunchtime and evening service - breakfast is clearly a step too far!

Tables very close together so impossible to have private conversation staff are slow waited an age for lunch which was then ok but not value for money.

For 10 years or more we've 'done lunch' very often in Carluccio's in the Bentall Centre. There's a new menu today and our absolutely favourite 2/3 course prix fixe menu is gone! Our 'usual' repast of pate/bruscetta & chicken milanese/pasta with a large glass of lovely Sicilian wine NO LONGER AVAILABLE. The menu is revamped. You must buy everything separately at considerably more cost. The best value Italian food deal in London is no more. I'm sad.

Called in on the spur of the moment for a bite of lunch.Chose the set menu - great value for 2 courses - Main plus starter or dessert.Decided on the Pollo Milanese which is like a Viener Schnitzel with chicken. This came with a salad. Lovely Panna Cotta for dessert and a glass of Sangiovese. My wife being on a diet had many more calories with her very french Tuna Nicoise.Great service, good food - nice ambience with only one fellow diner short of a fettucine or two.

Good service and good food. Better than a number of other Carluccios within the group. Perfect location to relax after shopping. Attentive staff.

We popped-in for lunch on Saturday as we often do. As always a little time queuing is rewarded with friendly, efficient service. We ordered Calamari to share, Penne Alla Luganica and Linguine AI Frutti Di Mare. The great thing about Carluccio's is that you tell the ingredients are always fresh and high quality. This dishes are simple but cooked really well. We took advantage of the free bottle of wine email offer too!

My aunt and I visited Carluccio's in the Bentalls Centre for the first - and last time today. We ordered their special mushroom bruschetta which was made with stale bread; it was so hard we were unable to eat it and ended up leaving it on the plate. The mushrooms were bathed in oil and were also inedible, We then ordered the salmone pasta and venison ravioli, what a tasteless disappointment these were. Finally we asked for coffee and yes...the coffee was cold, I had to ask them to give me a fresh cup. The service was slow despite the restaurant not being too busy. We suggest you avoid Carluccio's, there are so many other excellent choices in Kingston!

We arrived late for a quick dinner on a Sunday. The server politely explained they were closing in 50 minutes when the shopping centre closed at 5pm so provided we were happy with a quick meal, they'd be happy to seat us. In fact, it suited us perfectly. The food was excellent and piping hot and swiftly served as promised. I was most impressed with our server; in some places when 6 people walk in shortly before closing you may be met with sighs, but not this guy - he never rushed us, was attentive and very accommodating. Top marks!

Delicious fresh food. Quick services and a very pleasant staff. Just after shopping. Busy and noisy but good price. They have a grocery shop as well, a special mention to the olive oil.

Visit here pretty often, and it's normally above average. Today's visit was a bit disappointing. After sitting down and ordering water we found out that half the set menu was unavailable. We only wanted a quick lunch from the set menu. We paid for our water and left. Could have just mentioned that the set menu was not fully available as we were seated??

Possibly one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had ! The food tastes terrible ! I ordered an omelette and it was so dry and my brother ordered ravioli which tasted nothing like a ravioli . I don't recommend this to anyone ! Save your money and run away ! I was very disappointed . I wish there was a negative doesn't even deserve 1 star

Visited this restaurant for a quick lunch with my husband and kids as happened to be in Bentalls at the time. We were seated pretty quickly, menu seemed good, kids very happy!One thing I've noticed is that service was much better than in our local branch and the waiter who was serving us seemed very friendly and enthusiastic about his job, something that is very rare these days.As I'm intolerant to a quite a few foods, I dread ordering food in most restaurants, because staff either don't seem bothered or they have no real knowledge about food intolerance.It was a very different story here. The young waiter who took our order talked us through the menu and suggested I have a gluten free Ed pasta which I happily agreed to and I must say it was delicious! So delicious actually, I will be definitely going back next time I am in Kingston. So happy with our meal, we ended up buying a bottle of a lemon oil at waiter's recommendation. Definitely worth a visit!!

Great service! I've been with my girlfriend for lunch last Sunday, for the first time at Carluccios, and even they were very busy, they seated us pretty quickly with a lot of enthusiasm. Drinks came within minutes and food was really good too. We've had starters and pasta which gladly was filling. Tiramisu was on point too. Staff was so friendly to us and made great first impressions. Definitely coming back soon!

We visited this branch on a fairly busy Sunday lunchtime. The acoustics in the place aren't great so with a full restaurant the noise can be a bit overpowering at times.After being seated it took about 15 minutes to over the food. A few of the fresh fruit juice options had run out so that was a bit limiting.The sharing platter was very nice when it did arrive and the waiter himself was pleasant, but it took about an hour to order and consume a couple of drinks and a sharing plate of cold meats.

Not very impressed by our visit yesterday, the restaurant was almost empty and the service took ages. The food was far from great just ordinary unseasoned plates of pasta Not impressed

Plenty of salads to choose from - I had chicken and my wife tuna nicoise - both good with some nic3e twists like macedemia nuts and dried apriot slices - light but filling and healthy. Knocked back with bottles of cold sparkling San Pellegrini water - very refershing lunch for around £23

visited this place for a hot meal with tea.The waiter insisted on speaking in Italian. Explained dishes using Italian terms. He could speak and communicate in English w/o problem, but choose not.A dish arrived, looked presentable.Item after item we touched was almost chill cold - we had gone in for a hot meal. I called him over and explained our refusal to accept the meal.His explanation - "Blah blah in Italian means cold, look blah blah is written on the menu, you have come into an Italian restaurant, so you should speak Italian...""No mate, I told you several times I did not understand you speaking Italian and requested you speak in English".Your retort, " Customers come here for an Italian atmosphere, they expect us to speak Italian..."My response, "So you speak fluent Indian languages when you go for an Indian meal?""Well, no, they all speak English"."Just like you are now speaking, and had you explained in simple English we would not be returning the order".We secured a hot soup.Both of us suffered all of the last night and this morning from stomach trouble.This is unacceptable.
