I would like to know what is happening all the regular staff of 3 years at least have left, The curb appeal is not welcoming overgrown and the planters are all dead plants and falling apart all the flowers on the solerium roof have died weeds between slabs, And smoking area in Disabled parking is wrong people who use the bays which are only 2 don't want smoke all around them most will have some kind of breathing problems it could be placed first 2 bays left hand side of the Restaurant. BUT 5 START FOR FOOD AND SERVICE ONLY SHORT ON AN EXTRA DESERT ON MENU THE ONES ON ARE REALLY NICE BUT JUST NEED THAT EXTRA ONE JUST TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF ESPECIALLY THE CHEF

What a fabulous lunch with my sister, I was up from london and this was exceptional! food quality superb , friendly attentive staff in a wonderful setting .So relaxing. I will be back and might even stay over next time!If you are in the area ...GO!

We stayed one night, whilst visiting family. Firstly, I was charged the same price for single occupancy as double occupancy, even though the prices were on the booking sheet. This was quickly rectified. In my room, the curtain was hanging off, the net curtain was hanging off. One bed side light did not work. One bathroom light did not work. We returned to the hotel around 10 p.m. for a night cap. As we requested our drinks, we were told the bar was closing in 15 minutes. A few minutes later we were told the same thing. Encouragement to have another drink would be good business, especially as we were staying, but we did not feel welcome and so went to bed. Service at breakfast was efficient but we wondered why the staff were so miserable. Should someone not wish to work graciously in the service industry, then seek a different position. The Spa was closed on Sunday, surely this is one of the busiest days for a spa.

Very disappointed considering the price point. The seabass with monkfish was very bland. The fish was stacked between flaky pastry sheets. Not sure this added anything to the dish. The seabass was two very small tails with a slithering of monkfish which was not much bigger than a 50p piece. I opted for the cheese to finish which included 4 tiny pieces of cheese of my choice from the cheese lovely cheese trolley. This was served with 4 x pistachio nuts and 6 small biscuits. Drinks were well priced. The staff were lovely and accommodating with a good atmosphere. However I believe the food is overpriced when compared with other local restaurants. We left still hungry and I expected more at £40 ahead for 2 courses.

We ate out at 315 to celebrate our wedding anniversary a couple of weeks ago. We were sat down in the bar when we arrived for a drink and we were asked for our orders in the bar, which I found a little odd, but at this point I assumed the restaurant might be busy. When we were shown to our table about 20 minutes later, I was surprised at how empty it was for a Saturday evening. We were then asked if we would like to order wine and water and our starters arrived almost immediately after sitting down and before the wine had even been brought back to the table. We ate those after the wine arrived and our plates were cleared and our main meals arrived exactly 10 minutes later - I actually checked my watch as I was so surprised at how quickly they arrived. Considering how rushed through the courses we were I was perhaps expecting a couple of large parties to come to some of the empty tables, but there was just one or two other tables that had guests arrive after us and the restaurant was more than half empty. I ordered the Grilled Asparagus - Lardons of Bacon, Bearnaise Sauce, Hummus, Poached Egg to start. Apparently no lardons as it came with Parma ham, which was fine for me, but the hummus accompaniment was very strange. I absolutely love garlic, but even I found it way too much and just overpowered the whole dish. My main was the Duo of Seabass & Monkfish - Tender stem Broccoli, Turmeric Potatoes & Saffron Sauce The seabass was cooked nicely, but again this dish wasn’t what I expected. It was stacked with a slice of puff pastry at the bottom and top, which I think is from the mushroom starter, and it just made the skin on the Seabass soggy. In the middle was a very small slice of monkfish, it had a weird texture like it had been frozen rather than being fresh, but it was edible. Far too much veg on the plate for the portion size and it was a mix of peas and green beans - no broccoli. Potatoes didn’t really taste of much either - the whole dish was a bit bland to be honest. I finished with the Dark Chocolate Brownie - Pistachio Ice Cream Again not great, it was very fudgy in the middle, but could have done with a good pinch of salt, it was a bit bland. Ice cream was lovely, but a very small portion compared to the size of the brownie. Overall the food was ok, it is nowhere near the fine dining it purports to be on the website. It really did seem like a kitchen that was closing down and just adding whatever accompaniments were to hand for a dish. The staff were lovely and friendly, but also started clearing all the empty tables of laid crockery presumably to get ready for lunch service the next day whilst there were still customers eating. We live in a village close by and I doubt we’d return to dine again as is. Given there are meals like burgers and fish and chips on the menu, presumably for the hotel guests, a rebrand to a more casual menu and environment would probably suit the restaurant better.

Six of visited recently for Lunch. Disappointing from start to finish.Unhelpful.surly staff in particularly the man who appeared to be in charge. Had lunch at Bar 315 and it was delicious. Beautiful setting and view from the restaurant. Very decent prices. The waitress was very friendly with just the right amount of attention. Looks like an ideal for a wedding, party etc. Will definitely return

Came here for afternoon tea for a family hen do , first impression when we saw the place was good , a beautiful building with lovely views, our table was in an empty room apart from us , we had tomato soup to start which although nice was strange for an afternoon tea, the stands were then put on the table with no description of anything from the waitress, we asked how many each stand fed and she said 4, one stand was missing one persons items, had to be chased up as it was taking for ever to do missing items, no drinks offered either hot or from the bar, had to ask for Prosecco which took ages to come, had an abundance of Brie sandwiches for some reason and not enough of the tasty ones, only two small dishes of jam and cream for 4 scones , we were just left to it and never asked if we needed anything . Had a drink in the bar afterwards, customer service non existent., we were told off for putting our pram and bags where we put them as we were blocking entrance to a cupboard 🤷‍♀️had to hunt down a member of staff when I needed to get a drink , a lovely lady called Nicola came to rescue and served me and she was the only one there who showed any interest in us as paying customers, also had issues with our bill. Won’t return and won’t recommend, such a shame for such a beautiful place…

We visited for a family hen party, only eight of us. The table was nice but we were the only ones in an otherwise empty restaurant which had an unusual smell. We’d booked afternoon tea. We were firstly served with a teacup of tomato soup ( not on the set menu) It was very tasty. Next two cake stands arrived and we asked how many each was for ? Four, said the young waitress, we noticed that one only had items for three people, it was taken away to be rectified After a long wait one of our party went to see what was happening, she was told won’t be a moment The stand came back plus a plate with sweets. The sandwiches were very poor, salmon/ prawn, coronation chicken wrap with a lot of endive and minute amount of chicken. brie, cranberry and onion. Not appetising at all. The scones were nice but we had to ask for more jam as they gave us very tiny amounts for four people. The mini macarons and lemon tarts were delicious We were never asked if everything was ok, which it wasn’t, where do they serve afternoon tea without tea ? Perhaps because we had a glass of Prosecco they thought we didn’t need it! Feel that they couldn’t be bothered and were disinterested even when we told them we weren’t happy. It was an expensive experience and one we won’t be repeating

We visited the restaurant with a travel zoo voucher for a steak dinner for two. We had an early 5.45p.m reservation. On first impressions, the venue is lovely and based in an idellyic setting. The staff are warm and welcoming. I arrived before my friend so I ordered a drink at the bar. I asked for a glass of the Puglia. I appreciate Puglia is the Italian region and not the name of that specific wine, but it had been a very long week and I was exhausted. The man serving on the bar, who I subsequently discovered was part of the management team, questioned me in such a way, that I was embarrassed that I had mispronounced. I had not and as it was the only red wine on the menu from this region. It did make me wonder why he questioned me like I was speaking a foreign language. It seemed quite pompous but I disregarded his response and enjoyed what was a lovely PUGLIA. My friend arrived and we were shortly seated in the restaurant. The setting was beautiful, the decor and table settings exceeded expectations. The ambience was welcoming. We decided to order starters in addition to the voucher we had for main course. The starters were wonderful, tasty and a good sized portion. The restaurant filled up with other patrons and the atmosphere was as you would hope for, not too noisy but background chatter. I don't recall hearing any music. The main course was devine. I had the steak dinner and my friend, the seabass. The steak was perfectly cooked, medium rare and the accompaniments, rustic chips and green vegetables were excellent. The seabass perfectly cooked and succulent. We decided to order dessert. This was the downfall of what had been a wonderful meal and experience thus far. I ordered the cherry crumble soffule and my friend the apple and pear tart. The soffule had a caveat in the description on the menu to advise it had a wait time of approx 20 minutes. This wasn't a concern. The desserts arrived quicker than the expected time frame. The soffule looked delicious. The apple and pear tart underwhelming. However as I tried the soufflé I realised it was under cooked. It was glistening inside and the consistency sloppy. It tasted of raw batter and unpleasant. I called for the attention of the man that had served me at the bar earlier in the evening. I quietly questioned the soufflé. He assured me it was cooked and as it was meant to be. After he had walked away I asked my friend to taste the soufflé as a second opinion. She agreed with me. So I called over the same man. He was quite confrontational so I suggested that perhaps the chef could taste it and give their opinion. He returned to advise the chef agreed that it was cooked and as it should be. He then proceeded to tell me that I had to pay for the dessert and asked if I would like it back from the kitchen. I was so taken back by this entire statement. Particularly asking me if I would like a food product back that I had witnessed a chef in the open kitchen tasting. Why on earth would I want it back, especially after a stranger had been sampling? I have cooked both savoury and sweet soufflé and I am extremely confident the soufflé was not cooked for the correct length of time. Admittedly it is difficult to perfect but not an excuse in a restaurant. The entire experience of the evening had been ruined. I will never return to this restaurant. The level of customer service by every other team member had been superb. The waitresses were young in years, but they were efficient, friendly and helpful. Their customer experience skills far surpassed those of the senior members of the team. I did pay for the soufflé, not because I agreed with the chef or matreedee but I did not have the energy to engage in further desute over a £9.20 dessert. The fact the restaurant were prepared to lose two customers and have many other customers witness the kerfuffle in the restaurant over a £9.20 loss, speaks volumes. I my opinion, the man who was directly involved in the soufflé saga, requires immediate customer service training and would do well to drop to pompous sense of superioty over others. The chef should perhaps learn to accept constructive criticism An honest review from a very disgruntled diner.

Venue modern open and airy, great views. Spa clean and well maintained. 3 spa staff members clean , well presented and polite. Spa area had sauna, steam room, shower and jacuzzi.... which the jets were only half working. Seated are a bit cramped. Was in ntimate setting. However.... no toilet in changing room, only 1 cubicle to change in, so not ideal if there's a group of you that's just met. The two toilets available were at the far end of the Spa. The treatments were fabulous, good pressure with the massages, high quality oils and products. Very impressed! Afternoon tea came... not impressed as we had to wait ages, looked thrown together. Sandwiches dry and looked cut by a 2 year old. Mango slop was served apparently it was sorbet! Staff put the food on the table and left. Had to go find them to ask for more drinks and what was to happen after we had eaten as no information was given about leaving the venue, getting dressed, paying ect. Would recommend a treatment... ABSOLUTELY! Value for money... no not really. Wouldn't go to the spa again as there's not a lot to do unless you just want to sit and read a book. Was expecting better quality food as the restaurant upstairs is fab.

i honestly don't where to start the all experience was out of this world, there wasn't any thing i could fault we had 3 courses and a bottle of wine just over £100 so couldn't fault the price. Starters, Chicken and Pork Confit Gluten Milk Bound with Duck Pate, Rocket Salad, Toasted Walnut Bread Mian, Haunch Of Venison Sweet Potato Rosti, Savoy Cabbage with Pancetta, Parsnip Puree, Green Peppercorn Sauce Desserts; Cherry Crumble Souffle Chocolate Sorbet and a bottle of wine. Couldn't fault anything - honestly perfection on a plate out of this world.

Very little to fault; the service was great, food was gorgeous, loads of drink options & atmosphere was lovely. Will be returning!

We first visited for dinner last year after being bought vouchers and we absolutely loved it then, great experience and absolutely delicious food and drinks. Very knowledgeable front of house staff. .... We asked for more vouchers for last Christmas (2023) and was booked in last weekend. This place does not disappoint at all, its beautiful! From the welcome at the bar to being seated in the dining area we just felt happy and relaxed. Always feel there is something to choose and usually we can't make a decision, because they all sound gorgeous! This is definitely a special place for us and is a great treat to let our hair down. Thank you to all the staff that were working on Saturday 30/3 :)

Came here for a night away with dinner and breakfast and to use the spa. The drinks were good (nice choice of gin, wine, cocktails looked good but didn’t try these). The food was really below average and I would give it a miss. As a veggie couple, the veggie menu was quite big and there were also options for us on the main menu (bit confusing). Most dishes could be as a main or starter but who wants pesto pasta for this? My risotto was bland and tasted like it had a bag of sensations roasted veg crisps poured on top of it. Mushroom pastry cone to start was bad, this came with huge chunks of onion. Dessert was the best bit. Ordered a cheese board after, the waitress brought our cutlery over, dropped my knife next to my leg and said “oh sh**”. Forgot our glasses of port, came after we had finished eating. Service was odd- trying to be fine dining whilst not meeting the basics. Breakfast was stranger, no cereals breads or jams laid out, had to ask for these and have “sir” presented with some Frosties. Had to ask for every single preserve for toast. Poached eggs were basically boiled, my omelette was fine but I’ve made them since I was 10. Genuinely baffled by good reviews on this food, maybe the meat stuff is better. Recommend seriously scaling this back and just doing nice basic dishes and teaching waiting staff to not be surly/ not swear at you rather than silver service.

Went for the 2 for £32 steak night but was very disappointed! The meals didn’t represent value for money and it certainly didn’t feel like a special VIP deal which is what it was advertised as. Guy who took our order seemed to be a manager but got our drinks order wrong so not off to a great start. Cheese and biscuits portion tiny - 8.95 for 4 crackers, 4 small pieces of cheese, 2 slithers of celery and a couple of grapes .. !

We got gifted a voucher for a sirloin meal for 2, I'm glad it was a gift as I wouldn't want to have paid almost £30 each for what we got. We decided to order starters as an extra and these were not too bad at all. However the sirloin were terrible we both asked for medium rare what we got was a sirloin which had been butterflied only seared on the one side then stuck back together this on top of around 6 chips and overcooked veg. The whole experience was rushed and it felt like they couldn't wait to get rid of us. Rubbish food, poor service and not a particularly pleasant place to eat. Don't waste your hard earned money go somewhere else instead.

We had a really enjoyable 2 course lunch/ Prepared and cooked to perfection. The staff were efficient and friendly. We are regular visitors to 315. The restaurant surroundings are first class and we look forward to a return visit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

After reading some negative reviews I was not sure about dining here, but gave it a try and we were not disappointed. The food was beautiful, very tasty and well presented. 4 of us had starters from seafood to goat's cheese, the mains were steaks, lamb and chicken. Wine (pinot grigio) was the best I've had at a restaurant The service was top notch and we will definitely be back as the 315 is now 1 of my favourite restaurants after last night.

The food was beautiful, so tasty everything was spot on. The service wasn't fantastic but not terrible don't know if it was because there was a wedding on and everyone was busy. The wine (£11.20 for a medium red wine) and sides were massively over priced

We always enjoy visits to 315. The food and service are always excellent. The restaurant is comfortable, spacious, well decorated and has lovely views from the back room. Highly recommended.

Had a great time, the food was honestly fantastic, as was the service we received too. Staff were really friendly and very helpful, especially the manager. Rooms were really nice also and spa facilities spot-on too. Strongly recommend.

We arrived for a Christmas party event and received a warm, friendly welcome from a staff member who took our coats whilst another showed us to our table and immediately took our drinks order. There was a jug of water on the table which was discreetly replenished throughout the night without having to ask. The waiters were attentive and our courses were served professionally. The food was absolutely delicious. Our party of 30 people thoroughly enjoyed each course even though we had made different choices. This is definitely the best restaurant in our area of Yorkshire. We have booked again!

I was given a voucher for 2 people £60 per person afternoon tea and spa Spa was what I expected Afternoon tea absolutely a disgrace’s soup was bland sandwiches well cheese ones had minute cheese chicken/ turkey so dry £120 for 2 Spa 3 arears !!! Would never recommend

We were the first to book for Boxing Day lunch and requested a table in the conservatory! On arrival shown to a table in the main dining area I said to the waitress showing us our table I said we had requested a table in the conservatory her reply was we are not using the conservatory today!! Lo and behold less than 5 mins later people going into the conservatory. Never ever have I been so rushed eating a meal. One waiter came when still eating starter ‘ are you still eating’. Plates cleared and main course arrived straight away no break in between the same with the dessert course. All this took approx 35 mins. Back home in 45mins travel time is between 10 to 15 mins. I would class this as appalling service for both serving and kitchen staff. Obviously they wanted the table for the next people. This was one of my favourite restaurants but never again.

Booked this for a Spa session with my wife and also to have dinner in the evening and stay over. I'd paid for the Spa already and had understood from the confirmation email that there would be afternoon tea included. There is only a little hydro pool, a sauna and a steam room, so the £70 for half a day just to use those seemed a bit excessive - well when I actually saw it with my own eyes. So we bought some food (as afternoon tea wasn't included - check your emails from them) from the casual dining menu. We did ask for salt and ketchup for the chips but the waiter never returned. The massage itself was very good. We only stayed in the main spa area for an hour as there wasn't really anything else to do after the massage and food. So that came to around £200 for what was 2.5 hours. When I booked the room I was told I would be upgraded to what sounded like some kind of special room. In actual fact it was a King en-suite, which in itself was fine, but I think I was expecting something a bit grander based on what was said when I booked it. My wife sat on the bed only to sit on a spring which was coming through the mattress. We phoned up and were told someone would get back to us. No one did, so we phoned again and were told it would be sorted whilst we were at dinner. Turns out that someone had turned the mattress over for some reason, so they turned it back over - problem solved. The meal was actually ok - probably the best bit, along with the massage. We were then kept awake until after 12am, as there was a function going on two floors below us and it was lying on a base drum. So not really any sleep to be fair. Breakfast was only 9am - 10am and still being tired, it would have been great to have a bit longer in bed, given it was Sunday morning. Breakfast was nice enough, but couldn't wait to get away from the place. Came away feeling let down, disappointed to be fair. Could have been far better if the staff hadn't been so slack and a bit more with it. I'm not sure I'd want to go again and wouldn't really recommend to others - certainly not to stay over. It ended up being an expensive and poor experience.

Roast beef was excellent and couldn’t fault it hence the 3 stars . No welcome, our waiter was not very pleasant, a bit grumpy really. We had to ask for water twice, ask for a soup spoon twice , ask to order wine and when it came the waitress left the foil in a jagged mess round the bottle . Poor service all round . Shame as the food was great.

Excellent food (though a tad pricey) / location and if you're happy to be in bed before 10pm this is highly recommended. However, if you prefer last orders to be later than 9 45pm I would maybe book elsewhere.
