I'm a regular visitor here but the quality and quantity of the food has gone down somewhat in the last 6 -12 months and whilst I enjoy looking around the garden centre and shop it now leaves me feeling that I am being ripped off .such a shame.

The gentleman and young lady on the till were lovely. But the older waitress with tied up blonde hair and glasses who was wearing a sparkly poppy was like a pit bull. Stomping around. Asked for some ketchup and you would think I had asked for the crown jewels. She stomped over slammed it down and stomped off. Well when working with paying customers curtsey would be a great bonus. Obviously either having a bad day or does not want to be there. Absolutely shocking behaviour. Such a shame as the food was excellent and tasty. But that sullen woman ruined our day.

Outstanding customer service at this restaurant! Led by Levi and his excellent team- a shout out to Amy- who looked after us so well today and Simon the chef! We took our elderly stepmum for a high tea birthday celebration and we could not fault the food or service that we received from arriving to leaving! This is our second visit to this garden centre and it will certainly not be our last! Thank you so much Levi for making it such a lovely occasion for us all. Nikki and Mark

This place used to be a wonderful place for a bite to eat and a mooch about but the last two times the food has been less than average, took a age to arrive and is bloody expensive for what it is. For instance, big breakfast. The bacon was hard. Not crispy, just hard, cold and chewy. The hash browns were beige and greasy. The black pudding was inedible and more of a crumb than a pudding. Why serve beans in a piddly little pot? Why serve sauce in piddly little jars? The staff in the restaurant are snappy and rude. My wife took a mug in as she was ordering another drink as we had finished ours before the food arrived. She was told off for putting it on the counter and told to move it "over there". This miserable bugger is rude to everyone but seems to think by calling people "sweets" it makes it OK. One last complaint. Black mould in the conservatory and your toilets are absolutely disgusting. I will continue to buy my plants from here but it will be a trip to Trioscape for food in future. Don't get me wrong. I left with a full belly but it wasn't in the least bit enjoyable. Having spent nearly £50 though, I wasn't leaving anything except the black pudding

Not realising this garden centre was owned by Blue Diamond! Previously having a poor lunch in Hereford Blue Diamond centre the company seems to carry on the poor service at their Dymock centre, the 3 first items we chose on the menu all being “ unavailable” The company seriously needs to get a better English tea bag they’re weak and not a good flavour and still not good when using 2 tea bags. The first three choices were blown out the water as no ingredients! So still waiting for our lunch seems like forever! Considering there’s a limited menu, you’d think they’d be quicker! Over all both venues very poor and management need a shake up! UPDATE! Both meals arrived! Not as described coil of sausage with vegetables! for me no vegetables and no sausage coil ! Not the best! My wife left most of her meal as didn’t look nor taste good, minute portion of veg and no coulis! The kitchen needs a rocket and look on the menu to what they’re cooking not what they fancy!!! Verdict pick another garden centre to have lunch!

The most appalling coffee I have had with the sole exception of Greg's. Just coloured water. When we complained we were told my wife's decaff came in a pod so that was that. They redid mine but then I could actually taste the coffee which tbh made it worse. Gave up and left it. Rubbish.

As we walked into the restaurant a member of staff was there to greet us, explain covid rules & ordering procedure. After choosing our meals it was only 10mins before we were served. Quality food & plenty of it, we were so full afterwards we needed a walk. As it was raining hard outside a few circuits inside the centre did the trick; interesting & well presented. We were looking forward to visiting Three Shires and travelling from Stroud it is in not on our doorstep and in excess of 20 miles.November and Garden centres do not look there best, but Three Shires could do with a revamp, it looks tired and past its best. All in all a disappointing visit, very little on offer in the Restaurant compared with our previous visits. We were looking forward to a Carvery, but all shut down and only light bites on offer. So many other Garden Centres are providing hot food. The Pond is a nice feature though, and the welcome received when requesting a table was very good.

Went here today for lunch, or so I thought. My friend ordered fish and chips peas. Which she said was ok. I ordered a glazed ham and tomato and cheese pannini. It came, I opened it up and the filling was probably enough to do half a pannini. The meat was fatty and difficult to chew I took 3 bites and the filling was gone, that left me with two very soggy pieces of bread. It wasn't even crispy it didn't seem to have been pressed as it was just warm. The salad wasn't very nice and the crisps were soft. £10.99 for it, and a orange juice. I did complain and the girl did apologise and said she'd tell the kitchen. Don't think they will bother doing anything about it at all. We were not asked if our meals were ok. That tells me they don't really care. Won't be eating there again.

Looking down the list of items on the menu, a friend and I were quite surprised by the prices. We meet regularly for lunch around the area and it seemed on average around £2.00 more for items compared to many other cafes/pubs in the area. We both said, well if that's the price, it must be extra special food. However, we did not continue this thinking when we were served our sandwiches and side of chips. The chips are described as "gourmet" on the menu- I am not sure why as they were greasy and there were not many especially considering they were around £2+. I had an egg mayo sandwich which was more mayo than egg and my friend had a prawn roll. The roll was dry and the prawns were small and watery not what you would expect when paying £8+. I must say the staff were great, but unfortunately that doesn't make up for poor food and we won't be going again.

We visited 2.20 Sunday afternoon, lots of available tables and empty tables outside. We waited to be seated only to be told by a very curt waiter they weren't allowing anyone else in for 30/40 minutes, he didn't even wait for our response, he just walked off, rude. We came to a coffee shop in Ledbury, a quarter of the size of your restaurant also observing social distancing and were served straight away. Just goes to show with clever management customers can be kept safe and follow guidelines whereas other establishments seem to be using covid 19 to their advantage and making things really difficult for customers. I wasn't the only disgruntled customer as I overheard others discussing what a joke it was as there were plenty of socially distanced table both inside and outside. They, like me will have taken their business elsewhere. We were going to browse in the garden centre after visiting the restaurant, however we just left, so potential business lost there too. Shame as all the reviews were good, just goes to show you have to try things for yourself as not everyone has the same experience despite good reviews.

Took a group of care home residents over for a look around and afternoon treat. The garden centre was clean, tidy and well laid out. We all enjoyed looking at the various plants and gifts. It was a bit of a long walk for one of our residents but I asked a member of staff if there was a wheelchair available and was helpfully told there was one at the till. Only downside was the route to the cafe area was not signposted before the slope to the door that was unsuitable for a wheelchair but that had a notice saying access was round the corner. This sign needed to be more prominant. The lake outside was beautiful and looking forward to another visit in warmer weather when we can sit outside. The tea and c akes were delicious.

Walking through the garden centre you get a taste of the type of establishment you going to and of course on the way out you have to stop and have a look at everything, especially at Christmas. The Centre apart from selling plants and shrubs has all the garden tools and accessories and clothes. The Restaurant and Carvery is approached through one of two entrances and has plenty of tables which are well spaced out. The food on offer is very clearly displayed and there were enough staff to cope with the queue of about 8 people, so we did not have to wait long to be served. The staff were very helpful and the food did not take too long to appear at the table. We will definitely be returning and taking friends.

Went with the wife and daughter, who did not want to buy anything but I saw some bargins in ladies fashion which I could not let them not buy. A great range of gift and items for sale of differing prices. We then went for lunch in the restaurant. Was a little disorganised sat in the top section which I think is for week-ends and there is nothing there to say there is no table service. Sat there for about 10 mins before we desided that there was life in the other section down below. moved and again thing are no quite clear that you have to Order at the counter. Food was a bit slow coming but was of Fair quality. I had Scotch egg, and cauliflower cheese, wife had tuna baguette, daughter had soup of day. A little exspensive but ok. I'd been disappointed with the food here previously but was prepared to give it another go in the hope that it would be a better experience this time. Not so unfortunately. At around the £10 mark for a snack meal it's not cheap but that was not the biggest issue. I ordered the "chef's special" which was baked potato with a pork filling. It was served with an unasked for salad which consisted of limp and tasteless leaves and chunks of tomato and cucumber, a small reheated baked potato (with no butter) and a dollop of unidentifiable meat strips mixed in with tomato ketchup. The only part I was able to eat was the potato although that was quite dry on it's own. This is an excellent garden centre and shop - what a pity it's so badly let down by the food. Next time I will plan the visit for earlier in the day then go elsewhere for lunch.

My Husband and I like going to the 3 Shires Garden Centre and in the past have enjoyed visiting the restaurant, but sadly not today. Firstly I waited in a queue for over 10minutes to order our food, because there was only one lady taking orders and serving drinks, she was quite efficient, but it was too much for one person. My husband had the Thai curry(9.95) and I had a sausage and caramelised onion panni with salad (6.95). The curry consisted of a plate of rice with the smallest portion of curry that I've ever seen, it had about 4 tiny pieces of chicken and something that resembled peppers I think! My panni, OMG.... I expected at least 2 nice flavoursome Sausage and some nice caramelised onion, that is not what I got. What arrived was a very nice Panni with a small sausage that had been cut into three slices, of which it looked like I only got two thirds, and some soggy fried onion. Now I thought it would also come with a nice portion of salad for the money, no just a few leaves, tomato and cucumber. ALL VERY DISAPPOINTING and a waste of money.

The garden centre is a nice place. The cafe lets it down considerably. It's nicely set out and looks pleasing to the eye with LOTS of cakes (lots) on show in fridges and on the side, but the menu is pretty boring. We ordered two "paninis" I say "paninis" because they came out and they were soft bread rolls toasted. Any cook/chef would know that when you toast a soft bread roll in a panini machine it will 1. Burn 2. Be really hard and dry and 3. Not be a panini! The salad was wet and had no dressing, the tortilla crisps were the best thing about it. I stopped a waitress and asked her why on earth the kitchen used soft rolls and picked up mine which I had left most of and showed her that the bread just crumbled like stale bread would in my hand. She agreed that it was not good. The table and plates were covered in burnt crumbs as we attempted to eat them. The waitress stated they used to use frozen and now changed to fresh bread-bad idea go back to the frozen paninis and quick! I was kindly offered a free drink or cake and I politely declined the offer. Wouldn't rush back here-a simple dish got so wrong very strange.

Having an early visit to the excellent garden centre we thought we would have breakfast at their onsite restaurant. Disappointing to say the least. They were not busy but our meals took quite some time to turn up. Cutlery was stained and the bacon was so overcooked you couldn't cut it let alone eat it.

The garden centre part was great, so many deals and a lot of variety and I really enjoyed looking around the displays. The big koi carp in the pond were very nice to watch and there was outdoor seating to sit and watch them, never seen koi carp so big! Unique experience, but I went to use the toilet and the standards were poor, there was no toilet roll in both cubicles and tissue was all over the floor, I think they need more toilet checks in the future. I also got slightly frustrated at the end as the queues were not that big, but the staff on the tills were very, very slow and we were queuing for quite a while considering 3 tills were open. Overall the garden centre was very enjoyable and I would go back.

Good place to browse & plenty of choice products to buy. Children loved it. Snack lunch in the cafe was ok, cheery male supervisor & we were served within a reasonable time. Had read reviews on the cafe, so a bit wary, but we found service good & food okayish, a bit expensive for what we had.

Stuffed with gifts (Christmas is already at 3 Shires), deli as well as plants and everything for the garden, I popped in here for lunch. The mushroom stroganoff with rice was very good and the pot of tea for one a good size. There was a good range of cakes, slices and bottled drinks. I do like to have all food on display covered - the slices and scones weren't - so I stuck with the main meal. This was in the cafe part - not the carvery. Nice tables in a conservatory overlooking the carp filled lake. Could have spent hours walking around but on a tight schedule. If you go to the deli - and the range of cheeses is quite interesting - talk to Barbara - she's very knowledgeable of what she sells and her personality made my visit!

If you're looking for sub-standard food at extortionate prices then look no further! The 3 Shires restaurant will be more than happy to cater to your needs. Complete with moist, soggy, undoubtedly days-old wraps, underwhelming sides and the world famous brown cucumber, this restaurant is guaranteed to leave you with that wonderfully terrible taste in your mouth that everyone wants after a lunch jolly.Keep your eyes peeled and you might even be lucky enough to find the snails in the refrigerator. It's totally makes paying almost £3 for a drink worth it!

My partner and I came to the garden centre to have a browse around and then eventually get cream teas, typical British Saturday. The garden centre was very nice, pretty and well organised. The Gallery restaurant and cafe however was a horrific experience. It looks very pretty and high quality...don't be fooled! To start with, there's no signs, menus or any kind of indication what's on offer. After wandering around every table looking for a menu of some kind that wasn't advertising an expensive prosecco cream tea we make our way to the counter, only to be shouted at that food stopped being served at 3pm. Bit of an assumption by the staff that we wanted anything other than a drink, very very rude. We order two cream teas, and the young lad behind the counter looked as if we'd asked him in a foreign language, baffled as to why he'd not acknowledged our order we explain we'd like "Tea for two and scones with jam and cream". He understood this as cream tea for one and a separate tea for one....how?! It took three attempts to explain it to him before he got it right and we still ended up with only one portion of jam and cream. To my delight the teapot and teacups were dirty, at this point I was too annoyed to even bother telling them. I'd even overheard that they had no more milk to serve! What a well organised business. The fresh homemade scones were flat and undercooked. Very doughy! Again I just wanted to leave as soon as possible so we didn't bring this up. Overall a very bad experience, bad food and even worse service, please don't spend your well earned money in this overpriced, understaffed hell.

Went here last week on Thursday, with some family, we often visit the garden center to pick up deals and plants. This is not the first time we have visited the restaurant/ cafe but was the first time we had the high tea. My mum had been given a voucher previously when you had made a purchase at the garden center, it was for either 20% off breakfast or afternoon tea. When we arrived at the cafe, the general manager asked what we wanted, we explained that we would like to have the high afternoon tea- he said oh we normally only do this on a pre-booking ( voucher did not say we had to book) so please consider if you do decide to do this, however he explained that he had already made a few up and that it would be fine this time, but please remember for next time. We ordered 3 not knowing how big they would be at £14.95 per person which we thought was actually quite expensive, due to i had previously booked an afternoon tea at another location using groupon in Gloucestershire for 4 of us and only cost us £20 for the lot of us. So please bear in mind if buying at least 3 it will come to about this amount £35.88. There are two slightly different options one was a prosecuto and cream tea which was about £10.95 and then the high tea which was the price mentioned above. So included it this was unlimited teas- which meant you could have exotic ones, we just opted for black normal tea- ( this is where the price could have been slightly cheaper), a selection of sandwhiches, however please remember you do not get asked what selection you would like we ended up with salmon & cream cheese, cucumber & cream cheese, cheese, ham & pickle, chicken & tarragon. On the next bit up there was a big massive scone, with clotted cream and jam, and then on the top of the cake stand was a small selection of cake slices, all were different on each cake stand. We didn't know how much there would be so we ended up having to take most of it home as it was too much.I would recommend this if it had maybe been thought out a little better, maybe explained at the tills when given the voucher that you needed to pre-book but also what each included in the price.

Having walked round the inside bit of the garden centre, which was very smelly! Water logged carpet! We decided to try the cafe. I had roasted veg soup and partner wanted a cheese and onion baguette, but no, they would only sell what they had made already, egg or turkey. Opted for turkey. Bad move, obviously yesterday's carvery left over turkey, dry and unappetising, my soup turned out to be on a similar level! Liquidised roast dinner! I could even taste gravey and stuffing! Quite strange, and salty! On the plus side GF bread, even if it did taste like it was a week old!

Thought this would be a lovely day out but sadly did not make the cut. Allowing for it being a very humid day this Garden centre has a large indoor retail area of all manner of things yet so overwhelming stifling it spoilt everything. No fans deployed no air conditioning just draining humidity inside as well as out. We opted for the two course carvery. Another disappointment! Chicken and gammon on offer though couldn't mix them . One or other. The chicken was not carvery it was breast and wing pieces. I was in utter disbelief at the miserly half a fairly thin slice of gammon and asked if that was all I was getting. The man carving begrudgingly said I could have a wee bit more which was half fat! It was not the best in the world either. Fair does the roast potatoes were excellent. Pudding also left a bit to be desired, the crumble didn't crumble and the bread and butter pudding you needed a knife to cut. I hate giving a poor review but this twas as I found it today.

I cannot fault the gardens centre. It's brilliant. Everything you could possibly want and more. However, the cafe really lets this place down. The service is dreadful. Staff don't seem to know what they are doing & the set up where your server does your drink, prepares your food and takes your money whilst a huge queue is forming behind you is ridiculous. Especially when there is staff standing around not serving. Our last visit a member of serving staff complained very loudly about having to take an order outside. This was not a one-off. Having been several times and the service always poor, we shall only visit the garden centre in future and give the cafe a miss.

Visited on a beautiful sunny day. The plants all looked beautiful and they are obviously all well looked after. There is lots of things to treat yourself too, from tea pots to perfume, clothes, shoes, furniture, book and BBQ's. Whilst on our trip round the vast plant area we decided to take a break and have a coffee. We were greeted with a cheery good morning from what I believe to be the restaurant manager, we ordered our drinks and were served by a pleasant young lady. As a treat we chose a piece of the homemade yogurt flapjack. All I can say is WOW !!. I could see and taste it was homemade it really was delicious, it was all washed down with a tremendous hot chocolate and my other half had a cappuccino. I loved my visit to 3Shires and would highly recommend it. I will be back as the carvery looked very tempting.

Visited here for a bite to eat and a look round during the bank holiday. Carvery was OK. Pretty standard. Two meats to choose from which is less than what you often get but all well cooked if nothing spectacular. Our highlight was sitting in the conservatory near the pond seeing a heron arrive, wait and catch a goldfish. He then flew up into a willow tree and literally necked it! Awesome to witness. Garden Centre was pretty much as you'd expect, full of plants but other posh and expensive gifts are and clothing to TEMPT or not.
