Arrived 2.50pm, seated and it took someone 10 mins to come over to explain kitchen closed. The kitchen closed at 3pm. Bought 2 tea, 2 cakes and a juice with little change from £17. Would say the cakes are below average for taste and quality although they charge £4.35 each. A lot of staff doing very little here and the shop is way over-priced for essentials. Judging from previous comments, I imagine they rely on tourists rather than locals for support.

We turned up to this cafe today after reading good things about it, when we came in the man working seemed a bit confused as to what was going on and sat us down at a table which said ‘reserved’ we double checked with him and he continued to sit us, about 2 minutes later a lady came over and asked that we move as that table was reserved ( as if it was us that chose to sit there 🤣) we explained to her that we had been sat there by the man and she looked at us as if that wasn’t true, we moved over to a different table and the waitress came over a few minutes later with a menu of what I would say was specials, it had only main meals on it and they had a carvery on also she seemed a bit blunt with her showing of this. Having searched the menu online before going which said there was panini, toasties sandwiches etc I was a bit confused that the only option was main meals especially as it was 1pm. We then decided to leave the cafe and go somewhere else and the stuff seemed very confused by this. Such a shame as the cafe has a lovely view and nice and clean inside just maybe some lessons needed in hospitality. As someone that’s worked in hospitality for 5 years I’m not one to complain but sometimes complaints can be useful in providing a better service.

We called here on 22.01.24 for the first time we were pleasantly surprised such a gem run by the community and dog friendly on top. We couldn’t fault anything the cafe, staff, food were first class. We often holiday in the area so will be back. Well done to all involved there should be more places like this.

Amazing how this promising cafe has gone down and down. If you are lucky enough to be greeted or acknowledged it is with a 'Are you alright?'. One is tempted to rejoin with 'We always look like this. How about welcoming us warmly?' Service and delivery are chaotic. Prices are expensive: £6 for a small bowl of salty soup and a 50p surcharge for soya milk. That makes a soya hot choc (which was tepid) £4.10. Shop prices are also prohibitive. When we ordered soup at 3.07pm, having been ignored for around 10 minutes, we were told 'the kitchen is closed'. We could see soup being dispensed from the front counter so I remonstrated. Yes, don't complain or it will be your fault... We are local and won't be returning. What a shame with such a beautiful view.

Having been previously and enjoyed this visit was seriously disappointing. Ordered macaroni and cheese, more like macaroni in oil (and lots of it). Panini ordered, ended up with a cold very small wrap, when questioned waitress said they ran out of paninis and toasties, could have asked what else was wanted rather than just putting random food on the table, waitress didn't seem bothered by our complaint and walked off, also had a grand total of 1.5 tortilla chips and v small salad, completely over priced. At that point we were hungry so ate and left, as clear the staff didnt care about the service or food issues, tried to charge us the panini price as well, not on especially given how small the wrap was and the person eating it left still very hungry. We are local and will not return.

Had 3 meals at this cafe while staying at Tomatin for a weeks holiday. Food was tasty and cooked fresh, I had the macaroni cheese with haggis and it was delicious, the rest of the family enjoyed their meals too. I felt the prices were average and cafe was lovely and clean with a warming log fire to welcome visitors. Staff friendly and polite.

We arrived around 14:15 and still serving lunch, and waited for a while to get seated as per the sign. The Waiter just sit anywhere. Got the menus and one had a burger and one had supposedly a scone which was a very dry and crumbly rock bun. The last time we were here the food was great. Have now heard from other holiday makers and owners that the quality has fallen along with the service received. Just a bit of advice from an ex-hospitality manager cat back the menu so all the staff can cope, or you will lose custom.

Friendly service from the two servers we had but the kids sandwich was made with mustard ham and came with a few tortilla Chips- not £6 worth. The hot smoked salmon wrap was toasted- not as advertised. This meant the salad was soggy and the wrap was wet and dripped everywhere. We mentioned this when leaving to let them know for future reference and we were met with a very rude response from one member of staff, a lady presumably in charge at the time - so disappointing that our feedback was met with this response and would make it very unlikely for us to return to somewhere local to us. It’s no surprise to be told by another member of staff that staff are leaving due to this person.

The first occasion we bought a full cooked breakfast for 2 with toast and tea/ coffee, this cost almost £30 and the sausages were partially browned , mainly a pale white colour, there was a lot of thick fat on the bacon which was undercooked and slimly and the beans were luke warm. Giving the benefit of doubt we tried another breakfast due to the convenience of the location of this cafe and it was exactly the same. I noticed other customers left food on their plates which should be an indicator to the staff. Considering the price for 2 full breakfasts the staff should be asking was everything ok instead of being deep in conversation with each other when we left. Poorly cooked and overpriced, I will not be back.

If you are travelling South from Inverness on the A9 don’t miss this hidden gem. Situated about a mile off the A9 Three Bridges Café has a glorious view of the river and, you guessed it, three bridges. They are friendly and welcoming, the prices are average and the coffee is really good. I stopped solo on the way North and with a party of 8 a week later coming back. Fresh hot filled rolls arrived very quickly, despite the number of us and the staff were very accommodating to the needs of 4 kids They serve a good variety of hot foods, all ingredients locally sourced, and some wonderful cakes. There is a small shop selling snacks and souvenirs. Next door is a community centre with public toilets (not 24/7). There is a small car park and play area. A highly recommended stop off point.

8 of us arrived at 1pm during a busy Sunday period. We were able to order as little (just a scone) or as much (scrummy fresh fish) as we wanted. Very tasty food. Good selection of cakes. Prompt service and a spectacular view from the restaurant. We had two young girls with us who were delighted to let off steam at the outside play area.

Stopped for a quick lunch on our way to the west coast. The food was delicious and we found the staff friendly and efficient. It's a great place to visit if you have kids with the outdoor play area. My son went to the undercover football pitch to kick his ball around while we waited for our lunch. The menu is really fresh and there is a great choice of options.

The Fish and Chip Shop is in our experience is without a doubt the BEST IN CAITHNESS AND SUTHERLAND! The fish was white and flakes. fried in beautiful crispy batter and the chips were perfect. We have experienced other Chip Shops in Wick,Thurso and Helmsdale, plus Mobile Chip Vans in Lybsterand Dunbeath and this has been the best so far too. We travelled around 30 miles to eat here and would do so again. THANK YOU.

After poor experiences in Oban and Fort William this place restored our faith in a Scottish breakfast and hospitality. Great service, even better breakfast made with quality ingredients.

If you’re taking the boat tour on Loch Ness this is where you’ll catch it. If not, it’s still a great pit stop to shop, have a bio break, grab a cold drink (or sample some gin!) and browse the shops. Surprisingly affordable souvenirs here. Stop won’t take long unless this is also your hotel… not sure of value or pricing on those. Great views of the Loch. Be careful of the very busy highway!
