28 Well Hung in Southwark

We went here to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. Great little place with a chilled vibe. The staff were so attentive and the food was delicious. We had a starter each which we shared, followed by 2 small meat plates, fries and a vegetable plate which was plenty. I finished with, I think it was called Beef Fat Brownie which was very good. Nice to support small businesses. Can definitely recommend.

Shockingly bad service, you’ll just sit there waiting to be served forever. Once you order after frantically waving your arms to the staff, expect another long wait to get anything. They weren’t even that busy, just incompetent. Also, more of a bar than a restaurant, so I’d say don’t bother and try one of the other restaurants nearby.

The staff are so lovely and hospitable made our experience what it was and the food was amazing Lj specifically was an absolute star the food was delicious and the mac and cheese was to die for would definitely recommend and will be back soon !! Thank you all so much!!

Lovely little place with great staff and a nice chilled atmosphere. It's effectively tapas for steak. The steak portions are very small (approx 4 -6 small slices per tiny plate) - not individual steaks meaning for 4 people we needed 6 plates of steak, 3 chips and 2 winter greens and we shared 2 flatbread starters. I feel it's expensive for what it is but definitely try it out if you want something a bit different but it may end up being much more expensive than you realise.

I can't date this place highly enough. We went early with 2 7 year olds in tow and the entire experience was outstanding. From the cheerful helpfulness of the lady who took our call when we booked, to the chefs who chatted to the children on the pass, everyone was incredibly welcoming, friendly and brilliant with the children. Oh and the food was so good we had to stop ourselves from licking the plates. Superb flavours, beautiful meat, enticing veggie dishes and puddings that kept everyone quiet. Can't wait To go back. Thank you

Service here was standout and the place has a welcoming/intimate vibe. I very much enjoyed selection of dishes which also catered for my vegetarian son. I should however have looked at the prices as the ribs though excellent were the most expensive I have had anywhere! I will be back but will be stick to the standard options.

Remaining excellent post lock down with a lovely little dining space out back, stylish and quirky. 100% value for money too. You won’t be disappointed especially if you like good steak.

We had a dinner party of 6. First time here. Everything exceeded our expectations!! Amazing food, great concept *meat and veggies grown and grazed for the soil*. My son loved watching the food being cooked . Great service! Thank you all. We will definitely have to go back!

We visited 28 Well Hung on a Friday night. The restaurant is attractive and warm, service was faultless. The small plates were delicious and very much enjoyed. Excellent steak, chips and veggie options - super tasty. However the restaurant only offers a very limited & unappealing cocktails menu and when I asked for a margarita was pompously informed they only offer “natural” spirits and tonics. I tried their “natural” cocktail, and it sucked. Classic cocktails are classic for a reason. Having said that, the carafe of red wine was extremely good. Dessert was one option only: chocolate mousse. Sounds good, but it wasn’t; it was gritty. I’ve made better chocolate mousse myself at home. Overall - I would return but I would know what they’re good at, and what they’re not.

What a delightful little restaurant, a lovely informal atmosphere, helpful, knowledeable and enthusiastic staff. A nice discrete little private patio area too. The restaurant's first anniversary when we went in for lunch, quite an achievement in the face of a pandemic in year one, a testament to the team. Excellent fare, the celebration menu looked wonderful too, especially for meat lovers. Lovely English wine on the menu. A fine contribution to the the very nice local area of Nunhead. Thoroughly recommended. Cool website too.

What a great find in Nunhead/Peckham! Very cool space with a focus (obviously) on meat. The menu is small but everything we had on it was exceptional quality and great price. The wine list is very good and the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Thoroughly recommended

The food was excellent, delicious flavours and beautifully presented. The ethos behind this restaurant - 'grown & grazed for the soil' - is incredible. The staff were also friendly and great at explaining what's behind what they're doing to us.

We've been here a couple of times now and cannot stop talking about it! I stopped eating meat a few years ago because of welfare and environment causes, but God do I love beef! These guys are so focused on sustainable, grass-fed meat that is kind to the environment whilst still being completely and utterly delicious! And they're dog-friendly! A must-have for us and means they fit into the Nunhead community well! The food is AMAZING and I have to be honest, the veg meals might even be the best part! I hate pumpkin, but theirs is just delicious. I lust over their IG feed. If you're looking for a regular plate with your own food, this is small plates. Which initially I wasn't keen on (and my partner hates tapas!), it's brilliant because you can try all the different cuts! I cannot recommend this place enough for really great food and family-style service. Even my serial complainer friend didn't have anything bad to say. I'm proud to live in Nunhead with great independent places like these.

Great cuts of meat, great concept. One of Nunhead's best new additions. 28 Well Hung is fantastic value for money and suitable for mates or couples. They have a fantastic wooden group table for around 6-8 if you are on masse. Will definitely visit again!
