Afternoon tea was fabulous. But the ability to choose your sandwich filling would have been better.

We came for lunch to celebrate my Dads 80th birthday. They easily accommodated 12 of us in a room which was shared with another couple of tables. Where the 2010 stood out was the support from the staff. We booked lunch from 1:30 in a Saturday and we stayed until nearly 6pm and were allowed to have the family gathering we wanted (we had family who’d driven more than 4h to come!). They kindly had given my Dad a birthday card; the chef took the cake we made; sliced it up and presented it back to us in foil packages so our family could take it home. The whole event was an afternoon that my parents will remember forever as a fantastic family gathering in wonderful surroundings. Thanks 2010 team!!

Seems to be no Google listing for the 1851 restaurant, but it has been one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had, dirty seats, poor food and cold food. Will not be staying again. Staff seem very inexperienced for a supposedly top notch restaurant.

Went for an afternoon tea at 2010 Brasserie at Peckforton Castle, which my wife had bought me for our anniversary present. Wonderful location. The Brasserie is just past reception on the left. Warm welcome from the staff at reception, who helpfully directed us to the Brasserie, and equally wonderful and friendly welcome from the Brasserie staff. Having first checked if we had any dietary requirements, we were then offered tea or coffee while the food was prepared. We each had five finger sandwiches (cheese & pickle, ham & mustard, egg mayonnaise, cucumber & mint and smoked salmon & cream cheese). We then tackled our scones, which were freshly baked and still slightly warm from the oven. They were light and delicious, with tasty jam and clotted cream. To finish, we had coffee with our delicious pastries - a mini lemon cake, a mini lemon meringue pie and a chocolate mousse choux pastry. Wonderful place, great service. Hope to return soon.

Visited The Windmill Pub on Mon 14th April with my mum, from the minute we walked in we were warmly greeted by Kelly. We were very impressed with the attentiveness of Kelly and the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and plentiful and reasonably priced. Kelly even topped up our teapot free of charge! I would highly recommend this fantastic pub, you wont be dissappointed. I will definitely be returning to sample the rest of the delicious menu. Keep up the excellent work Kelly and team. Kind regards Karen Cannon (and Mum)

We just dropped in for a drink on a busy bank holiday and without realising sat at an empty table that was in the area for food service, but where other pubs may have just asked you to move with no consideration - the waiter came over and kindly told us he had reserved us a table in the bar area to move to and made sure to check on us while we were there - it's the small things that make a big difference and we will definitely be back!

We came for the first time last week as part of Mild Magic. Accessibility: to be fair, I didn't even try to get in the pub as my husband didn't think it would be easy in my wheelchair. Plus, it was a lovely day for drinking outside. There is a carpark, which is quite a steep slope with gravel and it's quite uneven. I did roll down, to the consternation of onlookers, but my husband complained about pushing me back up. However, once you've battled the car park, there was a ramp up to the outside eating area, so someone's had disability thoughts at some point. I have no idea if there is a disabled toilet inside and the website doesn't say. There are lovely views over Bollington recreation ground, where we could watch a game of cricket. In the distance, you can just about see White Nancy through the trees. It was altogether very civilised. We enjoyed our Bollington brewery mild so much that we decided to get food as they had vegan options. I had a vegan hot dog, which was nothing fancy, but very nice. The staff were lovely, but the policy of taking a name rather than table numbers meant they were wandering around with our food for a while before they found us. It's not the waiting staff's fault, we just didn't hear them. The pub is dog friendly, with water bowls provided. There were a lot of cyclists and walkers, presumably because it's so close to the Middlewood Way. We'll definitely come back, but I might attempt to get inside next time.
