1912 Steak & Seafood in Eastbourne

Had a lovely meal at the 1912 great atmosphere and added bonus of a very good singer Tom Fitzpatrick for some entertainment during the evening, will be returning

We were served by Rose & an Italian gentleman,they were charming & attentive but not in your face. The meal was delicious, we had catch of the day which was sea bream & rhubarb Eton mess,we died & went to heaven. We were celebrating our 39th wedding anniversary & will definitely be back for our 40th.

The lovely Rose served us, super friendly. The Chardonnay we ordered was warm so we needed to get this changed, shame as we preferred the first bottle. Loved the Tuna Tartare and the Fish & Chip was very nice, the batter was super light, but I think the chips should be homemade fat chips, you don’t get skinny in a chip shop. I had the octopus which was a nice dish but it wasn’t very hot, more salsa verde needed. The restaurant wasn’t busy in the day, only 2 other couples, this doesn’t bother me. I would like to say we were delighted that Rose told us that the hotel had a St Patrick night with Irish dancing and an Irish Band, it was brilliant, it also made us come back for the whole night. Well done Rose.

Lovely restaurant for a birthday celebration. Good menu choices , food was delicious and beautifully presented, service friendly- shout out to Oliver who was really helpful. Glad we chose here to enjoy my husband's birthday. Oh , and the cocktails were great !

An amazing place. The carvery was delicious with a range of starters, meats and desserts. We were treated to gentle background music by a local musician which added to the ambience The staff are very friendly and attentive. Will def go back and highly recommend

The food, the restaurant, the atmosphere and the staff were all fantastic. My husband treated me for my birthday this evening and we were not disappointed. The food was divine, expertly cooked and plenty of it! We would definitely return, hopefully with a nights stay too as the hotel was beautifully decorated.

This was my first visit to the 1912 restaurant and I was impressed with the setting, the waiting staff were attentive and the food was tasty and well cooked. All in all a most enjoyable experience.

We were a party of 11 for lunch, the service was excellent, the food was really tasty, particularly the steak. Can highly recommend 1912 at the Lansdowne Hotel, great choice for a large gathering, we were given a room to ourselves. Very nice lunch experience.

I visited the 1912 restaurant at the Lansdowne for the first time this week, having heard wonderful things from others. Having enjoyed a lovely walk along the seafront prior, the Lansdowne was an incredibly welcoming and warm spot for some lunch with friends and family. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout and we were served a delicious selection of dishes to enjoy. All staff were knowledgeable, courteous and attentive, making our Christmas get together a really pleasurable experience. I am thoroughly looking forward to visiting The Lansdowne again soon and can highly recommend.

Nothing was right. Drinks order was wrong Dinner order was wrong Food came out wrong No one seemed to know what was going on.

Spent a wonderful evening with friends at the 1912. This was our first time, but we will be back and will recommend to friends. We all met in the hotel bar for drinks before dinner which was very civilised. The restaurant itself has not long been redecorated and had a very comfortable, informal and welcoming atmosphere. The menu was extensive with plenty of choice for those with dietary requirements. Between us we selected a variety of options and all were delicious. We ended our evening having coffee in the lounge. A great evening had by all. Thank you to all the team which made our evening so enjoyable.

Went to 1912 with a group of friends. The service was excellent, the food, beautifully presented and outstanding. Very nice to have pre dinner drinks and after dinner coffee in the Lansdowne Hotel lounge. Very special place to eat and relax.

We had a wonderful meal here and were a party of 8. The pre dinner drinks in the sumptuous lounge, followed by a superb meal in the restaurant. A special mention for Toms who looked after us. Fabulous, we will return. Thank you x

First time visiting and we had a really lovely time. As the weather was so good we sat out the front and shared a selection of the lunch menu nibbles along with a main meal each. Food and wine were really good, we also had a couple of cocktails each which were freshly made and reasonably priced. Very attentive service, especially as we were out the front and not in the eyesight of staff. All in all a lovely afternoon, will definitely return.

First of all, I will admit to being out of my financial comfort zone in this hotel. I was astonished at the cost of pretty much everything, from snacks to drinks. Only a few items on the restaurant menu were of interest to me and I plumped for the “homemade burger”. It was served with mediocre fries, onion rings and a poor salad. And it was ok. But just ok! And for over £20 (£18.50 plus 10% service charge), I was hoping for better! Why do some restaurants have a service charge? It's a restaurant; food is to be served to the customer, so why are you charging more to serve it? Anyway, I rest my case. I was far from satisfied and won’t be returning!

Lovely location, beautifully refurbished, friendly staff. I had steak. My husband had a halloumi salad. Shared a bottle of white. All food was good. The menu was quite wintery and while I was happy with the steak from the main menu, my husband ordered off the bar menu to find something he wanted. Wine was excellent. Price was acceptable for the location, quality of food and decor. Will definitely try again!

Had a superb lunchtime visit with a friend for her birthday treat. Nothing was too much trouble, we could choose where to sit in the dining area. The food was well worth the wait, beautifully presented and delicious. Sat and enjoyed a relaxing coffee in the tastefully decorated lounge before leaving. All staff were attentive, pleasant and engaging.A special midweek lunch.

Friends choose to stay here and suggested we meet and eat. Manager kindly opened restaurant and seated us at a delightful table overlooking sea. Staff absolutely super attentive. Helpful. Food was 5 *.beautifully presented and cooked devinly. Plates warm all arrived sometime. Which is lovely when eating with a group of 5. Mains equally superb and desert too. Very good value and will go again. Well done chef 👨‍🍳.

6 of us dined in the restaurant last night for a birthday celebration. From start to finish the evening was a huge success. We were looked after so well by all the staff, the food was exceptional with everyone enjoying their meals. They do a 2 course option for £26 which is great value. We had a lovely table at the front and the whole restaurant is gorgeous having recently been renovated (within the last 18 months I believe). So good to have this on our doorstep. Will definitely be back!

The dining room was cold by temperature and atmosphere. Small things disappointed - yucca plants in brown plastic pots, no table cloths, Elvis recordings at a Sunday lunch time. The service was OK - the food basic and the small wine offering was not too expensive - 1912 is very clean and tidy but not quite right.
