108 Coffee House in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

We were looking for a coffee shop in Truro and stumbled across this place. What a great find. The staff are absolute diamonds, ever so helpful and friendly and after a short time in there came over with treats for our dog and made a real fuss of her which was lovely. We had some delicious sandwiches in there plus cake and the coffee was excellent. However, the real surprise was the cup of tea!! Loose-leaf’s in a pot and according to my wife, one of the best cups of tea she’s ever had….a blow to my ego as I’ve spent years making her tea, but hey ho. Would thoroughly recommend this place, it’s absolutely fantastic and well worth a visit.

In fairness I wanted to try this for so long. Sadly it was less good than I hoped. The seating is uncomfortable and the menu is only available on a board which you are invited to go and take a picture of, much to the understandable unhappiness of the poor couple sitting underneath it. Most unfortunate for reasons I can understand today with a freezing wind the front window was open, for street sales, but so was the vack door. This meant we were all treated to a siberian wind freezing us to death. It was warmer outside in the street. I have never seen so many people inside wrapped up for the cold. The food was nice not brilliant and as such rather over priced. The coffee however was superb. Not superb to make me want to go back without thermals.

When I make my regular visits to Truro this coffee shop is an essential destination for me. Yesterday I was there again, eating the best breakfast I’ve ever had (and I’m notoriously high maintenance/picky!). It’s always a good sign when the chef herself comes out and proudly presents your eats. She deserves every bit of this praise - you could feel her care and attention, and it clearly mattered to her to make customers happy with quality, nutritious food. I had poached eggs on wilted spinach, with baked/roasted mushrooms and tomatoes, all on sour bread toast, with a garnish of pea sprouts on top. If I hadn’t been so eager to get stuck in I would have had the foresight to take a photo for this review. Every mouthful tasted divine. I love visiting Cornwall. I go by train, spend a few days with my Mum, and then, on the last morning, know exactly where I’m going before I walk up Station Hill. I now factor in enough time to savour the experience. The value is good, the ambience is just right (cool without being pretentious), the coffee is exceptional, but, for me, it’s the breakfast that draws me back, time and time again.

108 Coffee has always been my go to place. I have tried many coffee shops and cafes over the years, but nowhere compares to here. Great coffee Great food Great service (Especially Craig) Nothing is ever too much trouble, always a good feeling in there.

Absolutely recommend visiting. The food is top notch, the service and staff are excellent. And they serve the coffee is fantastic!!! They're also dog-friendly which is a nice bonus

Went in feeling down, needing coffee, and was completely blown away by the friendliness off the staff, especially the young brown haired worker who blew me away with their manners. Gives me hope for the younger generation!!

Such amazing coffee! I headed in with my laptop to escape home working and found such a wonderful haven. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and really, really good coffee. Way cheaper than the big high street names too (and infinitely superior) I had the mushroom dish which was gorgeous and enhanced with chilli jam at suggestion of the lovely barrista. I was able to work productively while enjoying great food and drink.

I love this place, we've been many times, with and without kids and always receive exemplary service and top quality food and drinks, especially the coffee, which was superb. The music is great, you can chill with a coffee and a laptop and I always end up having interesting conversations with cool clientele!!!

I really didn’t want to write a negative review, as I love supporting independent businesses. It was my idea to try 108 Coffee House with my friends, as I thought it looked nice online. Im not sure if we just got a bad day, as other reviews seem good! Upon arrival it took ages to order a coffee and when I did it then took a further 15 minutes to get it (even though the lady was just stood behind the machine as it wasn’t busy) I ordered mine with Soya milk but it came with regular dairy milk. Luckily I’m not vegan or have an allergy, or it could’ve been a disaster. The food took forever, 40 minutes in total for 2 yogurt bowls and 2 avocado and egg toasts! When it came it was pleasant, I would’ve been happy with it if it had came quicker. Pricing wise it is expensive for what you get! My avocado toast with eggs and mushrooms cost £11. The extra mushrooms were definitely not worth £2.50 😅 I only got 3. The man who took our orders was lovely though, and the lady who even though messed up my order was nice. Unfortunately I can’t see myself coming back again, maybe for a takeaway coffee as the coffee was delicious 👏🏻

Stopped by with the intention of grabbing a nice takeaway coffee, immediately I loved the style and furnishing of the place, however upon entering it was very confusing as to where I was expected to wait to be served? No sort of signage, I was TOTALLY IGNORED by both the man chaotically making coffee and the young lady attempting to grapple with the cakes, another chap entered after me and the man at the coffee machine asked him if he was intending to stay in or takeaway? So I have been stood there a good ten minutes, patiently waiting to be served, smiling at the clearly busy staff to be totally ignored… I heard the chap (that had come in after me) say he was looking for a takeaway, the barista then told him it was too busy and there would be a wait!! Terrible customer service; I definitely won’t be visiting again. Thankfully there’s a gorgeous independent just next door where we had wonderful artisan coffee to takeaway instead, served in under 2 minutes and back out onto the street within 10!

Lovely little find. Relaxing place, nice and quiet. Table services. Had mocha, hot chocolate, Cruffin and piece of chocolate and pecan pie. Really enjoyed it. Staff friendly, cleaned tables thoroughly. Food looked nice too. Dog friendly. Reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again

This roomy place is close to the Cathedral and offers nice big coffees and nice choices for vegans. The muffins nice and fresh and big enough to share.

Stumbled on this place whilst on holiday. Needed a coffee fix and this place didn’t disappoint. My takeaway flat white was even served in a takeaway cup! How they can afford to do this I have no idea but it’s a great move for such a small shop and proves that the big guys can afford to follow suit. Cheers!

There's about a dozen or so coffee shops in Truro, which is a lot for a small city, but 108 is by far the absolute best. Serving great coffee in a friendly and minimalist atmosphere, 108 has some limited but excellent food options from their kitchen also.

The sort of place Truro needs more of. Great coffee, nice and simple menu with good food, modern and relaxed atmosphere.

I've been to 108 several times and always ask for a drink made with a plant-based milk. It's one of those places where they bring your drink to your table so you don't see it get made. MORE than 50% of the time my drink has been made with cow's milk - they just get the order wrong - if I ask for a latte with almond milk they make a normal latte with a shot of almond syrup or something. Clearly not a good system to pass orders over to each other verbally as too many mistakes are being made, which is not good enough for customers with allergies. Such a shame as the actual cafe is lovely to sit in but I'm really tired of getting a stomach ache twenty minutes into drinking my coffee because they can't just make the drink I've asked for. Disappointing.

I’d forgotten just how good their coffee is. No faff, just great coffee. Light and airy inside their Truro centre coffee house too. We’ll be back now we’ve rediscovered it in its extended form.

Thought we would try this cafe for a brunch. Welcomed by pleasant staff and were promptly served our drinks. However food took a while to come, probably because there were lots of people ordering take-away coffees. Lots of people coming in and out for drinks, consequently door left open & rather noisy for diners, which was fine as it was a warm morning. Coffee and tea good, food good.Would not go back again for a brunch as too many people coming in and out.

In Truro on a shopping trip and wanted a break and a snack on a Saturday lunchtime and found 108 Coffee House - decided to pop in as we could see someone having one of their eggs on toast and it looked good. We were not disappointed. Coffee was very good and the poached eggs with avocado on toast was very tasty and just what we were looking for for lunch. Generous portion - two rounds of the lot. The staff were welcoming and helpful and the place had a relaxed atmosphere - there were two people at tables with their laptops plugged in and they didn't look like they were going anywhere soon. Others were making use of the plug sockets near tables to charge batteries. Paintings for sale on the walls, with information about the artist. We'll definitely pop in again.

My partner was keen to try breakfast at 108 Coffee House “before” work. This was a bad idea... Upon arrival we were greeted with a kind smile and were asked what we would like to have. We ordered two coffees and Harissa Scrambled Eggs on toast with black pudding and avocado on toast.

Limited choice available but what there is is good value and very tasty, Had a Mediterranean quiche along wwith a good tasty coffee. Staff very helpful and quick service.

Really friendly, helpful, comical staff and excellent coffee. Cake offerings could be mixed up more regularly, they seem to always be the same. That said the banana bread toasted with honey and peanut butter is a winner!

Excellent coffee and a good selection of cakes makes this a worthwhile quick stop when in Truro. It’s fairly compact and can be a bit noisy but for a quick caffeine fix it’s a good option.

I like this place but the menu is severely limited and weird. Weekdays the only breakfast is porridge (nothing wrong with porridge but why nothing else). Weekends there is a 4 item menu where the only item with eggs in it also has avocado and a bean chorizo monstrosity. Why so weird and limited. Whats wrong with scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict...

I went in here after my dissapointment in Nero's. And I had a most exquisit cappuccino. The best in Truro! Thanks to the friendly staff in 108 once again. You lightend my day up.

Ordered a flat white to go Monday morning and i can honestly say it was one of the best flat whites ive ever had. They had Origin's Pathfinder espresso on which is a roast i'd never tried before which went excellently with the milk which was perfectly steamed, not too hot, not too cold; just right. Even Goldilocks would have been impressed. The location is perfect as it tucked just out of sight from Costa and Starbucks so you can enjoy a really nice coffee in calm atmosphere. I would say however the 'contemporary' seating made from plywood does not make the comfiest seating in the world. Some plush arm chairs would really go a long way in completing the coffee house aesthetic where people come to impress clients. Side note: the value is incredible, £2.50 for an amazing coffee compared to Costa's £2.95 for a tasteless mass production coffee.

Clearly very skilled barista's, they definitely dominate the 'hipster' market in Truro, they have a wide range of vegan options as well as yummy cakes. There are definitely cosier places in Truro, but if you're looking for a place to socialise over coffee or just sit with your laptop and get some work done then this is a great place for it.

On a wet day in Truro, this was a cold cafe, very basic and not very comfortable seating.

Called in when visiting Truro, beautiful inviting coffee shop. We were made very welcome in relaxed and original surroundings. Wonderful coffee and beautiful cakes. 108 coffee house was discovered by my wife who definitely has an eye for quality.

The coffee here is spot on - absolutely perfect in fact. The cakes are good too and there is a lovely laid back atmosphere. Came here for the first time today with husband and two kids and the staff were lovely. When we left they were beginning to put out the sandwiches which also looked amazing. If we are ever back in Truro we will definitely go back!

Just nipped in for a Cappuccino and an Americano as we'd seen people getting their early morning pre-work coffees several times.... and glad we did! The coffee is so flavoursome, the seating is spaced so you're not sitting on top of each other, the staff are friendly and bring your drinks to your table rather than you struggling! A two minute walk from the main streets of Truro centre; along Kenwyn street (opposite the William IV pub). Prices are slightly cheaper than Costa/Starbucks and the quality is far superior. A must try if you fancy a little coffee 'pick-up' and a break from the shops!

The best coffee shop in Truro just got better by expanding. A small but vegan inclusive breakfast menu paired with great coffee makes this the place to break-fast.

First let me say that I do now know why, I have not reviewed 108 before, probably because it is just a 'coffee shop"!

If you are in or around Truro, you will get consistently outstanding cappuccinos or flat whites here. I have been making regular weekly visits for almost two years and have always had amazing coffee, well made by experienced, trained baristas.

The best Latte anywhere. Great service always friendly. Small selection of cakes all excellent. Good WiFi. Only downside small.

The best coffee shop in Truro. Consistently expertly prepared Origin coffee that is on another level of taste-perfection. Cakes, tray bakes and pastries, all of a good standard (cinnamon swirl stupendously delicious). Sensibly priced and a real treat.

If you like good coffee you will love 108...very similar to Espressini in Falmouth. Good chilled atmosphere, worth dropping in during a day in town.

Based on other reviews on way to meeting stopped in and purchased several drinks to go. Attentive service, good coffee, good Chai. Street parking is limited.

Every Visit to Truro always incorporates pit stop at 108. The staff are incredible friendly and the coffee is always smooth, delicious and beautiful presented.

Fantastic coffee, full deep roasted flavour. The staff are very welcoming and the service is quick. I have been many times now and the quality is always high. If you have time the cakes are also delicious, especially the blueberry muffins!
