Best chippy in London. No thrills, old school fish & chips.

Brilliant meal, tasty drinks and fabulous atmosphere until a waitress was asked by another table for a heater. Instead of asking us first, the waitress grabbed our heater, turned it around and acted shocked when we asked why ours had been taken away. We were confused as to why she would prioritise one customer over another and asked the waitress, to which she replied “it’s their fault” (about the other customers). Another waitress (Adelina) came over and understood our dissatisfaction, made room for us at the bar inside , had a great conversation with us and even asked the chef to prepare a starter for us that had previously been on the menu but taken off. Top notch service by Adelina and because of her we would definitely return again. True hospitality.

Buena comida, aunque el bistec carecía de carbonilla, que para £ 135 (solo bistec) fue un poco decepcionante. Buen servicio. Lo que realmente me hirió fue la donación de caridad de £ 1 agregada a mi factura sin mi conocimiento o consentimiento. Aprecia una pequeña cantidad, Howksmoor, si quieres donar dinero a la caridad, hazlo con tu propio margen de ganancias sangrientas, ¡no sacándomelo de mi bolsillo!

I only received 1 spring roll instead of 2. Otherwise, everything was great

Thought this looked like a good fish and chip restaurant with a fishmonger right next door.....won't be going back again, the fish was tiny I've seen bigger child portions. Even worse because I asked for a large cod and was told they only do one size, I trusted it would be a fair size but when I got home and saw it I was shocked. Chips are not the fresh usual chip shop type but obviously frozen and overcooked, even dousing in vinegar couldn't soften them. Totally unsatisfied so I'm off for a fillet o fish to fill the gap.

No es una buena experiencia. Entré en pánico cuando vi el menú - elegimos pescado con patatas fritas como una opción más barata, pero esto era caro! Tuve un plato principal muy mediocre en más de lo que normalmente gastaría en una comida entera. El personal era grosero, despreocupado e incómodo. Las mesas están abarrotadas para maximizar los beneficios: estábamos incómodamente cerca de la mesa de al lado. La comida era promedio en el mejor de los casos. Además, una propina grande se incluye automáticamente en la factura, como si no nos hubieran aclarado lo suficiente ya.

Lovely fish pie, well presented. Not sure why this place has a low rating, we found it excellent.
