The Sandwich Station

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire, <20£
17/11/2018: Had the sandwich while waiting for my Ferry. One of the best sandwiches I have tried in Scotland. Definitely worth a visit. It's near the Lochranza Ferry Terminal and it's a good driving/walking distance from the Arran Distillery! A couple tables and benches outside available for use if there's good weather.
12/11/2018: Don't expect the ritz. It is what it says. A bit expensive really, but then you are a captive audience on an island.

The Old Pier Tearoom

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire
24/11/2018: Stopped here for lunch whilst touring round the island. It is a popular place that welcomes dogs. The gentleman serving was friendly and jolly. Lovely mac and cheese followed by huge pieces of salted caramel brownie. Clearly a place enjoyed by the locals too...always a good sign.
10/11/2018: A gorgeous victoria sponge cake, home made sausage roll with side salad and a super salad dressing... Do go there as the food is great and folks really friendly.

Lamlash Bay

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire
13/10/2018: salle agréable avec vue sur la mer , service rapide, efficace et aimable, prix correcte.Une des meilleures adresse a l ile d Arran

Stags Pavilion

Irvine West, North Ayrshire
10/11/2018: Another really lovely dinner...the salmon was awesome, and the ice cream selection awesome. Service brilliant and so friendly.. do go but remember in winter they are only open on a thursday, friday and saturday.
04/11/2018: Despite visiting Arran for more than 20 years, this was our first visit to Stags Pavilion after seeing the reviews on TripAdvisor. We weren't disappointed. In the idyllic setting of Lochranza with the sound of roaring stags in the background, this restaurant is just fantastic! On our table our starters ranged from baked camembert to minestrone soup and they were consistently excellent. The mains stole the show though. The lamb, a mainstay on the menu was beautifully tender, the shin beef I had melted like fish and the languistines had a pure taste of the sea. Tasty desserts rounded off the meal. On top of this, we had a lovely warm welcome from Valerie. A must visit on the island for sure.

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire, >100£
20/11/2018: This wonderful restaurant is off the main part of the Hotel at Auchrannie , set in a conservatory just off the atmospheric old bar / lounge of the hotel. Excellent service from a waitress in the bar on a Sunday night where she suggested a small plate from this restaurant whilst we enjoyed a beer after swimming lead us to book for the Monday night as the restaurant would have been closed the rest of our stay.
02/11/2018: Really enjoyed our meal at Eighteen69, a restaurant with a difference. Not often you get Scottish Tapas and the selection was great. My wife and I picked 5 mains and the dessert cheese board sharing the lot. Total cost about £41 for food and we left full. My only complaint if I had one was that they say the dishes come out as and when they are ready, but for us they all came out within 20 minutes so it was for me a bit quick. That said I would go back in a heart beat and thoroughly recommend a visit.

The Gypsy Cream

North Coast and Cumbraes, North Ayrshire
30/11/2018: Wonderful hearty soup on a wet, dreich day. Not surprised the place (slightly off the main thoroughfare) was fully occupied. Friendly, attentive staff and excellent food served speedily and efficiently. Save some room for their delicious cakes. Wish they had a branch in Edinburgh!
07/11/2018: Recommended by work colleague who is a largs local and have been in twice since discovering this wee gem.Cosy with great choice of lovely soups and sandwiches/cakes.Superb service, immaculate and probably the most glam toilets in largs.Great place for a catch up where you can chat/eat and drink in relaxing space.

Dalry and West Kilbride, North Ayrshire
11/11/2018: Had a wonderful dinner here on 10 November. Food was excellent, staff were brilliant and a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Certainly deserves its Michelin star. If you haven’t eaten here, I highly recommend it. I’ll hopefully be back in the future.
10/11/2018: Difficult to review this restaurant because there's nothing to comment apart from to say everything was 1st class, from the cleanliness of the premises to the service of the staff and quality of the food.

Motherland Spice

Saltcoats and Stevenston, North Ayrshire
01/11/2018: We were visiting from Yorkshire and we found this little gem. The food is fantastic and as we have been eating curries for 50yrs know a good one. The staff cannot do enough to please and all in all a really good night out ... we visit around there a lot so cannot wait for my next delicious meal there
30/10/2018: We go here regulary as a couple but also with friends and family. The menu offers a great choice and we have yet to be disappointed with anything we have ordered. They do all they can to please you. For example my husband likes Indian food very hot, so they make his hotter than anything on the menu. Everything is done with a smile!! Great wee comfortable, relaxed and friendly restraunt.

Little Rock

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire
22/11/2018: Fabulous cafe on the seafront. They cater for people with allergies & have a wide variety of choices. They also have a pet's corner for those with dogs. Quite a few dog owners were in when we visited. Reasonable prices too.
11/11/2018: We ate lunch here most days while in Arran. Tasty soups, and a good general cafe menu available. Great portion sizes and food was fresh. Service was excellent. If you want to guarantee a no frills, quality lunch with lots of choice definitely give Little Rock a try.

Small talk

Irvine West, North Ayrshire
30/11/2018: My first visit to this charming cafe/restaurant yesterday We picked a very busy time Short wait to be seated and served from a fairly extensive menu Cauliflower cream soup was delicious and piping hot! Sandwich and tea also. All "passing food" looked so appetising Quick friendly service Took hubby some home baking home
05/10/2018: This is a favourite spot for lunch or coffee and cake. The extensive menu is well priced and the homemade cakes are to die for. I defy anyone to walk past the display and not try one. Staff are great and always make time to chat to customers. Our two year old granddaughter is always made welcome and given some bricks to play with while waiting for lunch. Children’s menu is excellent too. Consistently good.

Irvine West, North Ayrshire, 20-30£
12/11/2018: Took visiting friends here for dinner as we’ve eaten here many times before and are never been disappointed. Delicious as always, very busy but no problem with service, competent and friendly staff. Calamari starter was delicious, light and crispy and sea bass over rice too.
06/11/2018: Really friendly staff, always willing to help. good food at a great price Old fashioned decor, with a friendly atmosphere

The Coffee Pot

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire
18/10/2018: We have eaten here twice this week during our stay on Arran. Staff are so attentive and the food is all homemade and super fresh. From milkshakes and delicious coffees to homemade soups, paninis, baguettes, kids’meals and homebaking. Today’s broccoli and cheese quiche (served with salad, coleslaw and fries) is probably the best I’ve ever tasted - we’d definitely recommend this little gem of a place!
13/10/2018: Stopped here for a snack lunch and was pleasantly surprised to find an extensive menu. Well worth a visit!!

The Tearoom

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire

Brambles Seafood + Grill

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire, 30-45£
02/12/2018: Beautiful setting, decorated to a high standard. Even the cushions were beautifully “chopped”. Service was excellent, turn around time for food was very fast, and food was cooked perfectly! Best steak I’ve had! Will definitely return. Thank you
21/11/2018: Great selection of dishes on the menu. Local produce featured. Easy wheelchair access. Staff very helpful.

Vanilla Joes

Irvine West, North Ayrshire
29/11/2018: So Vanilla Joe's has branched out and introduced a hot food menu, the only problem with today's visit was the fact that the hot food menu as you have guessed is frozen and requires to be cooked thoroughly before serving, this was not the case today as I was served a frozen chicken toastie which was a tad an on the expensive side considering it's not fresh and comes out the freezer. That being said the staff made a slight effort to rectify the issue.
24/11/2018: Heard that they where now selling hot food. Thought mite be nice for lunch searched and searched could not find the menu ANNOYING. After going in found the Hot Food menu limited and expensive for what it was. I had a roll and bacon. They tried to make it sound fancy on the menu but it was not. Got a milkshake which sadly disappointing.
