The best restaurants serving Other international-cuisines food in South Lakeland North West

We both opted for chicken broth starter. My friend had pork and I ox cheek with egg fried rice. We both enjoyed the Jamaican ginger bread and coconut and lime sorbet...Delicious! We actually attended Gilpin on the Spa and Spice package. We really enjoyed the whole experience and felt totally spoilt. The Spa and the Spice staff could not have been more welcoming. We will be back. Although we didn't spend a great deal in the restaurant, in comparison with the rest of the Spa experience, we now know we can enjoy a first class meal separately without the Spa part. Treat ourselves!

Amazing food. Great service and value for money given the quality. The panacotta was possibly the nicest dessert I've ever had.

All I wanted was a bowl of soup and some bread. Not much to ask… I am gluten free and pleased to see lots of gluten free options including the soup. I chose the spicy cauliflower but was told I couldn’t have the bhaji or croutons, which is absolutely fine, but then was told they do not offer gluten free bread and never do!! Humm ok bit strange. I asked was it because of the cross contamination and she said no. They just don’t offer it! Plus they do gf cakes and other times so it couldn’t be cross contamination. Ok so when I asked do I have to still pay £7 the normal cost for croutons bread and bhaji she said yes very bluntly. Very disappointing in a vegetarian, whole food cafe! Plus the soup was very watery and over spiced. Sadly I will not be returning!

Excellent food in very pleasant surroundings, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were directed here by the sister restaurant Comida after they were too full to fit us in as a last minute booking, it’s the same menu and in my opinion a much nicer environment. We will definitely be going back soon

We stumbled in due to struggling to get a booking at other venues. We were treated really well by the manager who was the one and only member of staff on duty. He was so slick tending to everyone’s needs effectively and efficiently - nobody was kept waiting at any one time. The food was high quality, all four of us were very impressed. The chef is quality! Would definitely recommend.

Booked this place for a dinner for 4 people Friday 28th Feb 1900hrs. I received an email from themThursday 27th Feb to confirm we were still honouring the booking. Turned up for the meal on the Friday only to find the place closed. I phoned the restaurant and a bloke answered it. He explained that the ovens were broken and he had informed all bookings that he was closed. I informed him he had missed me to which he offered me a bottle of wine on a next booking. If you look back on tripadvisor he has done the same thing May 2023 and Jan 2025. Book with caution.

Charged £13.90 by blonde lady behind the bar for half a pint of alcohol free san Miguel and one 330ml bottle of GF Peroni disgusting! Lovely pub setting inside BUT no signal no guest WiFi would avoid if just wanting a drink, would look elsewhere such a shame as looked very nice when driving past
