We went in on Sat. 12th October around midday (my other half and I, plus our daughter): the staff were lovely and the tea, coffee, and cakes were delicious; we had a paradise slice (with coconut and fruit) and a date crumble as well as a coffee and walnut loaf, all of which were freshly made and absolutely do die for. We sat near the shop front but had a look around at the pictures showing the conversion work phases made this building what it is now; the products on sale are also varied and fairly local (we ended up buying a small wooden stool for our daughter's harp). Recommended, also, for lunch: on offer, for example, was a broccoli and Stilton soup, but we had to continue on our journey. Francesco and family.

Popped in here for lunch as dog friendly and easy parking. A fairly standard cafe menu with daily specials. We had baked potato and soup and panini. Both were fine. If unexceptional. The room was pleasant and the service quick and friendly. Contrary to some other reviews, the coffee was good and certainly not cold. Our dog was brought a bowl of water. Certainly worth a visit.

Stopped for a cup,of tea and a cake. Quickly told to sit anywhere as the cafe was not busy. A bubbly waitress took our order of a pot of tea and a Mango Tango flavoured tea, a cake and a scone. Drinks arrived but the milk for the tea had turned. It was quickly replaced along with a second pot of tea free of charge. (Never going to be able to drink all that tea) The Mango Tango tea was fabulous. We had to go and ask if we could have our cakes as they had forgotten. The cakes were very very nice. So apart from the dodgy milk and memory, it was very nice.

We went for lunch on Wednesday and the food was good. The lady serving us was very good, although new to the job. She was polite and helpful. I'm so glad we arrived when we did. As it got busier and busier and the poor lady was struggling to cope. Another lady came to help but was taking the wrong orders to tables. Someone's club sandwiches sat on the bar for 5 minutes before being taken to them. At one point, a man came out of the back of the house, took one look, and disappeared. Obviously, he wasn't going to get himself involved in the shambles. We heard people commenting, and one person mentioned Faulty Towers. I did feel sorry for the first lady who was trying her best. We would have stayed for a pudding, but as we were never offered, we went elsewhere. Eventually, a third person got involved. Come on, get your act together. You are about to go into your festive season . I'm not sure that I will be back in a hurry. Did remark to the receptionist on the way out, but I think it probably fell on deaf ears.
