I've never had Ukrainian food, so took the opportunity to sample some whilst shopping in Leamington Spa today. The cafe is inside a church building. There's only about 18 seats & the cafe was full today. I was delighted to see a large table in the middle of the cafe with a jigsaw in progress. The menu is small but very tasty.

It felt like fine dining for just above average prices. Everything was extremely high quality, and I can't wait to take my partner there again. There was also a huge selection of vegetarian options, which was great for me.

This place is always hit and miss. At weekends the teenagers work there and their attitude is awful. A long haired chap today decided to be very rude when he got the order wrong and the laughed. Such a shame as their other venue the pump rooms is much better environment and customer service.

Good enough - although our meal was really quite minimal - we had some toast with marmite, and some tea to wash it down.

Apologies for the review title - it's not a reference to a Bucks Fizz tribute band playing at the venue, but rather some friendly advice on my part for the establishment. I went here for some evening drinks with a group of friends a few months back. I'd wanted to come for ages and loved the idea of an arts bar/cafe in the south Leamington area. Unfortunately our experience wasn't positive. We were told on arrival that we could sit and have drinks in the bar area but would need to keep our voices down because the evening performance (solo guy doing an acoustic set who, to be fair, sounded very good) was about to start. Struck me straightaway as a bit strange...the upstairs bar is separate from the basement performance room, and if you're going to keep the bar open for customers who aren't there to watch the gig, surely you can't expect them to be silent? As we discovered, this was indeed the expectation. We sat at a table as far from the basement as we could, and we're most definitely not a noisy bunch - three of us have young kids so the rare opportunity to talk quietly without inane interruptions is as much as we ask for! Despite this, we were asked a couple of times to keep our voices down and after about half an hour, decided that it would probably be preferable for all parties if we left. I don't know anything about some of the other recent reviews, but have to say that based on my experience, it doesn't surprise me to hear that others have found the owner to be a tad dictatorial. So...making your mind up! I wonder if Temperance wants to be an evening performance venue, or a bar for friends to have a chat? It doesn't seem willing or able to do both, and I think the clarity would be appreciated by customers.

We stayed here as we visited Warwick Castle. We parked our car and were greeted with a drug deal happening at the same time. When we found the hotel they thought they had double booked the room but then managed to find our room. The room was small, dirty and we could hear our neighbours. There was black mould in the shower, mattresses were lumpy and we could feel the springs and the carpets were filthy. When we went to breakfast the next morning we were greeted with the grumpiest lady we’ve ever met. Only 1 cup of tea/coffee each and a very small selection of breakfast. We weren’t offered to see a menu but were verbally told what was available even though on the website they advertised a continental breakfast - not the case here. We decided to leave as couldn’t face another night on those beds. We didn’t bother asking for a refund as thought we wouldn’t get anywhere anyways. Avoid at all costs.
