Had a lovely experience meeting up with friends for a drink. Jason the barman was excellent, he was very friendly, very attentive and had great manners. He is a credit to the harvester, hope to see him serving there next time I go there.

Whenever I read anything that begins with "As part of our process of continuous improvement..." I know immediately that something which was previously available is now no longer an option, or that the service/product I am familiar with has now been downgraded to my detriment - usually meaning that I am about to receive something inferior or more expensive than before, all being passed off under the guise of 'continuous improvement'. This cafe is a prime example. It is almost exactly 4 years since I last reviewed this cafe, and I was disappointed to find that on this visit, the full cooked breakfast which I previously reviewed (April 2018) is alas no longer available, to be replaced by some very rudimentary breakfast options, none of them a decent substitute. However, there was a choice of breakfast bap with either bacon or sausage. I opted for the sausage (see picture), only to find that the sausages were precooked and reheated in the microwave, along with the bread roll. The result: bread with a rubbery texture, and sausages which were clearly passed their best. The woman serving was perfectly helpful and efficient, but I suspect she was no chef. In fact, the cafe doesn't appear to have anyone cooking - at least not for breakfast. Looking at the most recent reviews for this venue, standards have clearly dropped. That's a shame, because the only other option for breakfast is the Beefeater at the Premier Inn nearby, which is £9.50! OK, it is 'unlimited' but realistically, a tenner is way overpriced, no matter how good the breakfast is. Whilst Sainsbury's cafe offers an alternative, it is I am afraid a very poor substitute.
