The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Lydd Shepway South East

I was running an event in the local area for 60 people, including several MD's, councillors etc. I wanted to use a local business to provide the food and asked Maria if it was possible for the cafe to provide us with a takeaway lunch as well as all the crockery needed to serve it. The team prepared a delicious (and huge) buffet spread for us. The guests loved that it was all served on vintage crockery and were thrilled to find we were supporting local businesses. Maria was easy to deal with and responded promptly to my questions. Everything was ready as promised, she was really flexible about picking up and dropping of (I didn't even have to clean the plates) and her team were super helpful in getting extra coffee for me. Best bacon in a bun by far, excellent service, good value, thoroughly recommend. The burgers & chips were really good too.

Food was OK but owner/service was average at best! Owner was condescending to the young man working there, who was trying his best while the place was very busy and she was sat outside chatting to her mates! Very uncomfortable visit, and not welcoming at all! 😞

Went for Sunday carvery, which was superb. Staff also very friendly and helpful. My mum has mobility issues and the guy serving noticed this, waited while we got her food for her before serving us. Good idea to call you up by table number so there's aren't big queues when getting your food.

Definitely not the finest fish and chips in all England, far from it. Chips were average at best. We had skate which is a little tricky to eat, as we found out, but it was dwarfed by the amount of batter. Best bits were the mushy peas and tartare sauce, wish we'd gone to the Snack Shack!

Despite both the website and the Facebook page stating that this bar had now re-opened and was open daily from 9am to 4pm, when we got there at 11.30am today, we walked in the main door, saw yet another sign confirming this information, but the bar was locked and in darkness. Will not bother going back until we know for sure that it actually is open!
