I've had an amazing meal.the team are so personal to each of their customers needs esp will adapt to anything when asked. Can't get there as often as I'd like ! Owner doesn't like to see you get a 'small' portion of anything. Amazing service amazing food. All prepped to your personal order so prepare to have a very slight wait it's not mass prepared food. Love the humour and decor it's really old school and funny x

You can tell it’s a popular venue from the numbers of cars parked on the road outside. The ambiance is good, the staff were pleasant and the food was good. My observation are personal preferences…..the Yorkshire pudding probably took up a third of the plate, I found it difficult to cut, and you were left wondering if you’d knock other items of the plate. I’d rather have two small Yorkshires, so you can “manage” them. The belly pork was ok but didn’t appear to come with crackling. Why are you only ever asked about sauces/condiments once the food has been brought!? I asked for apple sauce, almost 5 minutes later it came in a chilled metal pot, I suspect straight from the fridge……I prefer mine warm or at least room temperature…..the request for additional gravy never materialised.

Poor choice and poor food. My chicken & ham pie with roasted veg was so dry I couldn't eat it. My husband's portion of squid was so small, it was not worth having. Plus, the chef's hiphop music was playing so loudly in the kitchen that we could hardly here the tasteful background music in the restaurant. The waiter was lovely and really did try to look after us well. We were staying in the Hall overnight but there was no inclination to eat there again because we would have struggled to choose something - it really is just basic pub grub that is not very good and it really should be so much better for such a lovely setting/hotel. The wine selection for rosé was astonishingly bad ( a lovely summer's day and there was a zinfandel and a very rough pinot grigio blush - please at least put a Provence/Pays d'Oc rosé on the list or at least a better quality PG blush!). I really hope they make some improvements because a lot of the problems are really quite basic.
