The best restaurants serving Mediterranean food in Warrington North West

5/5 9TH APRIL 2025 Wandering Wednesday’ this week took Hubby Neil and I to an eatery where we have not been to previously. We ventured into Town to a Bistro called ‘Sakan’ on Sankey St. The restaurant was pristine and our server was a lady named Aneta, this lady was lovely and smiley, very polite, friendly and professional….. It wasn’t too busy at the time we dined there so food waiting time was literally cooking time. We both ordered the same which was Eggs Benedict and steak…. This was layered up with….. Two toasted muffins, finely chopped tomatoes and white onion…… sliced medium rare lean steak, with two poached eggs, smothered in silky Hollandaise sauce, garnished with cress, Nigella seeds, black pepper, the plate was drizzled with chilli mayo with added pearls of tiny biquinho sweet peppers…..this was accompanied with a dish of lightly salted crispy potatoes…. This whole dish was SO PERFECT, I didn’t want it to end… I’ve never had Eggs Benedict before but I’ll never forget the first restaurant I tried it in……. We both said that this is probably the best restaurant we’ve been to yet on Wandering Wednesdays. Massive compliments to the Chef, whose name is Pawel…..Who has a gift in cooking…. Fault could not be found at all, it was totally delicious. SIMPLY PERFECT and thank you. This place is a definite MUST TRY…. It goes without asking if we’ll be back!….. Among all of the restaurants this one has a very good menu ( not your usual burger and crowd pleaser food - ) Great servos and very reasonable prices. I certainly will be returning 👍🏻

Well, at least it was cheap - 20% off with email sign up. The food was very average. My veggie friend had the sweet corn fritters - they looked disgusting and tasted only a little better. The wine was white, warm and woeful. Service was friendly enough - that was the only plus point.

Nice food and good choice on menu for all tastes buds.Pizza are very nice and lots of toppings came warm nice to taste and customer service was great. Only thing I’d say is definitely quiet loud so if ur going for just a carm chat and eat I’d go somewhere else but nice atmosphere in my opinion just maybe not for all.

A group of 12 of us visited for the first time to celebrate a family birthday. What a lovely place! Service was excellent, food was great with lots of choice including vegetarian options. I had a tapas from the lunch menu which was delicious. Kids enjoyed their meals too. Price was very reasonable. They allowed us to bring our own birthday cake - they made the birthday ‘girl’ feel special with the sparkler and the staff singing happy birthday! Thank you, we’ll be back!

Honestly shocked that this place has 4.4 stars. We went on a Monday night and it was very quiet so no excuse for slow service, yet that's exactly what we got. Waited about twenty minutes to have our order taken, and was slightly disappointed that they weren't prepared to do gyros, because we arrived after the time limit. Opted to have moussaka instead, but was told that it would take half an hour, while others in the party would be served more quickly. Changed to the Metaxa chicken, with olives as an appetiser, but after five minutes we were told that there were no olives! And then waited thirty five minutes for the order to come out, only for the chicken to be overcooked, dry, and chewy. Others in the party had food that was okay, but nothing to write home about. All in all, a real let down, especially given that it's not cheap.

Fantastic night great bands in a great venue

food is appalling , no selection and cheap poor quality food.No option and basically same meals for dinner and lunch this past week we have had to starve as poor options !For breakfast we have had to have dry cake!

Appalling Over two and half hours, too many phone calls kept getting told it was on the way be ten minutes, better minutes, be five minutes. Told driver was not answering their phone. Never called back as they said they would not once! Food eventually arrived stone cold! Not even slight heat. Couldn’t eat as was chicken and had a 3 year old and a pregnant daughter with me. Spoke to restaurant again and the rude and patronising staff again said they would call back after the investigated refund. Still waiting!!!!!!!!
