The best restaurants serving Japanese food in Guildford South East

I ordered (and paid for) extra wasabi, ginger and soy sauce. It never arrived.

We visited The Ivy Asia Guildford in December and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant’s stunning décor and lively atmosphere set the tone for the evening. Giuseppe and Vali were attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly. We particularly enjoyed the Black Shell, a beautifully presented seafood selection, and the Spicy Tuna Roll, which had a perfect balance of heat and freshness. While portions were a bit small, the flavors and service more than made up for it. A great spot for a special occasion—we’d love to visit again!

Came here with some European counterparts, after going Shooting nearby, followed by a work meeting. We wanted a quick bite to eat, prior to going to watch a 5.50 pm showing of ‘Nosferatu’ at the Odeon. Venue is light and has a fun feel, due to the colour scheme and conveyor belt mechanism whizzing a variety of dishes between booths and seats. All staff were pleasant and helpful - the hot food we all ordered was cooked well - the cod was very good - but just on a personal level/preference, it wasn’t for me, as I’m not into sweeter tasting savoury food - that’s merely a personal thing. I actually preferred a couple of the Sushi dishes from the conveyor belt. We all had an enjoyable time though, all in all.
