Wonderful food on the premium experience menu (still disappointed that they’ve taken the duck off of it though as that used to be one of the best dishes!) We were served by Adam who was absolutely faultless and really made the experience for us. Many thanks

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this location. The blonde young woman at the front (on 09.05.2025 @ around 16:15pm) barely greeted us and was incredibly unwelcoming. Her tone was rude and disrespectful, making us feel belittled and uncomfortable. It was honestly disgraceful. I’ve visited the ivy Asia all over the country and had great experiences , but this one is by far the worst. I didn’t even make it into the restaurant because of how unwelcome she made me and my disabled grandmother feel. she was completely discriminative of a woman with a disability which is incredibly outrageous. Instead, I chose to visit their sister brand, the ivy and had a much better experience there. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning to this location.

A lovely meal for my mum’s birthday. Food was all amazing and Ozi was a fantastic host, and looked after us very well.

Our waiter at Ivy Asia Guildford was Ozi and he was excellent with the service and the recommendations. This was our third time here for a special family event and it never fails to satisfy. The food portions, quality and taste are just right. Not to mention the presentation of signature dishes. We will definitely keep returning if all of the above stays the same!

We attended this establishment following a recommendation from local colleagues, with the expectation of a dining experience commensurate with its evident ambition. Regrettably, it transpired that an alternative choice for our evening would have been considerably more judicious. The atmosphere was, to put it mildly, rather boisterous. The level of noise, particularly the music, was quite excessive, rendering comfortable conversation something of a challenge. It was an unbecoming din for a venue seemingly positioned at the higher end of the market. Whilst the staff were undoubtedly attentive and present, they regrettably lacked the polish and refinement one anticipates when investing a considerable sum in an evening meal. Professional, yes, but the standard of service felt wholly insufficient for the tariff demanded. Now, to the sustenance. The food was, perhaps, adequate – one might describe it as "not bad" if one were feeling particularly charitable. However, labelling it authentically "Asian" would be a stretch of considerable magnitude. It presented as a rather muddled interpretation, a fusion where the distinctiveness of Asian flavours seemed to have been deliberately muted and sweetened, presumably to cater to a perceived European palate. Uniformly, and disappointingly, everything erred on the side of excessive sweetness, without exception. This was a particular shame, as the underlying quality of the raw ingredients appeared, initially at least, to be sound. They were, however, sadly masked and often overwhelmed by these cloying sauces. The treatment of the black cod, a fine ingredient ruined by its preparation, was a notable casualty in this culinary misstep. Considering the investment – a not insignificant £100 per person, procured without the benefit of wine, solely water and the establishment's own lager – this represented a considerable disappointment. With due respect to the proprietors, this was wholly disproportionate value. Even at half the price, the offering would still have felt overpriced for what was presented. In summary, standards were not met. A regrettable mission.

We always have a great time here but tonight was a bit disappointing. We were recommended the pouille fuse which was very average and very expensive. Portions seemed to be smaller including the old fashioned and lobster and duck rice had to be sent back as it tasted off. Such a shame as we love this place. Sachin the waiter was very good, kind and knowledgeable!

This was our second visit. After a disastrous first visit we have decided to give it a go again. Totally different experience! Our waiter Ozi was great, food was fabulous. The only criticism : place is too noisy for my liking.

Ozi was very welcoming & I really enjoyed my birthday

Food was great and so was the service. We had Wagu Beef to share to start with. Then we had the duck and the chicken, both were very good indeed. We finished deserts Green Lantern and Samurai. The Green lantern was amazing, a bit like a key lime pie in flavour. The Samurai was chocolate brownie chunks with a mouse and crumbled chocolate ontop. The waiter Ozi was very friendly and very attentive. We have been to this restaurant before and the experience was not good. I think they have really upped their game as we had a lovely time. I am knocking 1 star off for atmosphere as it was quite noisy.

Sachin was our host this evening and he was excellent. He knows his stuff, gives great recommendations but more importantly loves what he does and helped to make our evening bit more special. Thank you Sachin for being you & best of luck.

We celebrated my sisters 50th at the Guildford Ivy Asia last week and although it was pleasant enough at the time , after a few hours of eating a couple of us felt quite unwell with sickness! We didn’t really think much of it apart from the food obviously disagreeing with us . Today a friend of ours told us she also had eaten in the restaurant a few days later and her husband was violently sick after eating too! Please check your food as it is quite obvious the food is not as fresh as you may think as this is not coincidental at all !! Check your food and talk to your chefs asap

No words!simply amazing food, service and atmosphere. The only drawback was steamed rice which was not fully 100% cooked and noodles tasted bland.

My husband and I eat out a lot, but this was a special experience. We opted for the cherry blossom afternoon tea. The decor was lovely, and the food was beautifully presented. It was, however, limited in terms of savoury options. They didn't replenish, so we ended up ordering from the ala carte menu to fill ourselves up. They do, however, allow you to order more teas, which were lovely. We would definitely visit again but would try the experience menu next time.

We were served by a very helpful and patient young man called James. We were new to the Ivy Asia so needed some guidance!

An incredible meal at the Ivy Asia Guildford. We both went for the Experience menu and got to taste some amazing flavours. To top it off, our waiter, Hamza, was perfectly attentive and made the whole evening evening more enjoyable.

Came for a birthday dinner, greeted by the receptionist and was shown to the bar for a drink before our dinner. The bartender Adam showed exceptional knowledge of classic cocktail recipes and was very friendly, even recommending some cocktails for me to enjoy for the summer. Was seated not long after receiving drinks and our waiter Julius offered us water and answered any and all questions about the menu, being very patient as me and my partner had never been before and we needed some extra time to decide on food. Food all came out hot and in a timely manner, our starters were beautifully presented and tasted just as good, and our second round of drinks arrived just on time for the mains, of which we had the Duck Leg and the Chargrilled Salmon. All 10/10. Attentive service but not overwhelming, and they even brought a little mochi icecream on the house for my birthday. Fantastic place for a celebration dinner with a partner. Great decor and atmosphere and staff were incredible. 10/10 for Julius, Adam, and Rabia for making our night so special! Will be returning

This place is perfect! I've heard some people comment saying it's a bit pricey but I assure you, IT IS WORTH IT! I took my friend there as a birthday gift and we chose the premium set menu which consisted of five beautiful dishes. The service was spot on (throwing in a small thank you to our waiter Alex who served us for the evening, thank you Alex), the time it took for food to come out was insanely quick considering the stunning presentation of the food. And the taste of each dish matched it's presentation, such amazing flavours. Best tempura I've ever had, best sushi I've ever had. Will I go back? YES!!! Should you go if you haven't yet? YES YES!!! The atmosphere is very whimsical with it's brilliant decor, I've never admired a restaurant's floor before as much as I did at the Ivy Asia. Not a place to go regularly unless you can afford it but if you're looking for somewhere special to take someone or for any special occasion, you really won't go wrong with this place. This restaurant was magic for us!

Same Good food as I've experienced at other Asia's but on a sunday evening it lacks the buzz & vibe of the London branches - both in terms of clientele and the staff.

I took my wife here for her birthday meal. Would highly recommend going on a weekday as it isn’t busy. Staff were great, amazing service, food was delicious and came in perfect time one after another. Dessert was my fave!

We went to Ivy Asia in Guildford for my mother in-laws birthday. We had a fabulous time, the food was amazing especially the Cod! We had Hamza taking care of us and he was great and worked hard to keep everything running smoothly. He is a credit to Ivy Asia.

Nice decor and music but food is average and not overly warm and incredibly slow service and not at all friendly. Not even offered cutlery. Asked to remove service charge as did not warrant our experience. Would not recommend or return, shame as I always heard the Ivy was high end and more of a treat for a nice meal out, well it did have that reputation before. Ended up at local takeway on way home as still hungry a few hours later.

Service is slow when it's crowded, but it's a pretty high-quality Vietnamese dish.

On arrival we were greeted ,and staff were very polite, seated at the table, which are far too close together,I don't want to hear what the person on the table next to us was doing last night, we know the restaurant is supposed to be higher end Asian. And yes, we expected it to be expensive, and it was for what you get, drinks £9.00 for a glass of Prosseco takes the piss. I asked the waitress for a fork for my dessert, and that is as far as it went,didn't receive one,I think it is bums on seats and take your money, we have eaten in some great cities and restaurants around the world,this is one we won't be going back too.

Loved this restaurant. Was out for lunch with my friend, Rachel on a day out to Guildford on 31/01/25. We had a great meal, very decent price too. We had a fabulous waiter called Hamza who was so helpful and explained every option etc. We hope to come back in the summer. Lovely location too. 👌

We visited this restaurant on Saturday for Valentine’s Day. Before booking, I spoke to a member of staff who assured me that the outdoor seating area was enclosed, warm, and atmospheric. In reality, it wasn't enclosed and therefore it was freezing, the heaters didn't work, we were getting dripped on, the chairs weren't level and we were sat next to a load of external electrical plus, everyone outside also had their coats on. With this, we decided to leave before ordering any food. I understand they can’t control the weather, but when you’re paying for the experience, the outdoor section should at least be comfortable. Compared to the indoor area, it was miles apart in quality and shouldn’t even be open, it’s a poor reflection on the Ivy Asia chain. I’ll make sure to never book an outdoor table here again.

🍣 All the food is great! 🥟 Highly recommend the mushroom gyozas – super flavorful! 🐟 Yellowtail Sashimi is my top favorite – a must-try! 🥬 Lettuce taco with meat served in a money-style statue – unique presentation! 💰 🍚 The rice was disappointing – lacked that Asian flavor I was expecting. 🍩 Surprisingly loved the dessert with donuts – and I’m not even a donut-for-dessert person! 😲 ⭐ Overall rating: 9.5/10 – only letdowns were the rice and the mandatory 13.5% tip. ❌️ The tip should not be mandatory

Had such a lovely experience at the Ivy Asia Guilford all thanks to our service staff Mo and Alice. We were sat outside in this cold weather but was made to feel so special and taken care of by both of them.

Service was lovely Mo and Alice. Despite being out in the cold and rainy weather it was a lovely experience. Mo and Alice kept spirits high for all and were the perfect service providers for this weekend. I do think being inside would have been nice during this cold weather but the heaters helped a lot and blankets.

What w disappointment! Our Valentines dinner and wedding anniversary disaster!, paid almost £200 , service was extremely slow… and messy… first we’ve been taken to the wrong table… then 20min wait for a drink order … another 20min to order food ( we had to actually ask the waiter ( because there wasn’t actually anyone who was interested in taking order from us ) it was table booked for 20:45 ( not that busy) . The music was too loud! Never seen honeycomb cheesecake! It was on menu we’ve chosen … paid for it !( valentines menu) … chocolate mousse was disgusting!… and forever rose never came as well … normally from the nicer restaurants you get a little treat on your anniversary or birthday it’s a nice touch… but not here … nothing…disappointing! … never mind I had an empty glass throughout my main meal and dessert, seating at the bar nobody asked if I wanted another drink, shocking ! … service was disgraceful! NEVER AGAIN!

I found the approach to allergies extremely dated and the waiting staff did not seem skilled or able to answer very basic questions about cross contamination. It completely ruined my experience and made me feel a nuisance and if I hadn’t been with friends I’d have just up and left. There is much more focus on the presentation of the food than the actual quality and pride in serving good quality food. Very overrated in my opinion. The decor and atmosphere was amazing but it felt more compensatory for the real substance which is the food!

We held our daughters 21st birthday party in the Sumosan Room and it honestly couldn't have been better. From our first booking through to the event itself the team were fantastic. Daniel in the events team made it all so easy and understood everything I was looking for and the whole team were flexible and helpful and did everything they could to make the evening run exactly as we wanted. On the night the food was fantastic, the cocktails and bar amazing too. Mo and Hazel who looked after us all evening honestly couldn't have been better, they worked so hard and made the evening a huge success. Thanks everyone - it was a fantastic night.

We’ve been to the Ivy Asia Guildford several times and to other Ivy restaurants and the food and atmosphere have always been great. This time was no different with the food being fantastic! But what made our experience truly exceptional was our server Lola! What a pleasant and super efficient girl! Made our dinner so special! There was not one second where we were left waiting for food or for our plates to be cleared. I would go back there every time! Thank you Lola!

Wow- . Love this restaurant. So looking forward to visiting again. Decor fabulous and the service excellent. Food fabulous and so well presented. Yes- drinks quite pricey. Somehow we didn’t care about that as we so enjoyed it all. . We had tasting menu .with black cod. All was lovely and was plenty of it. Dessert was ice cream with doughnut and chocolate sauce. - it was huge. Still thinking about our visit now -so looking forward to May when we are visiting again
