The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

Wonderful place for a group meal. We ordered online prior and got email confirmations of our selections. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Loved the fresco with lots of Manchester references including Alan Turing and an enigma machine!

We visited in the last week of October, my partner a gluten allergy but unfortunately the service we received was unacceptable. The waiter asked if my partner had a EpiPen and my partner explained it’s not that type of allergy. He then rudely responded that it wasn’t an allergy and didn’t seem to take it seriously at all which made us both very uncomfortable. Despite this conversation when our food turned up it was clear it wasn’t gluten free. When he came to apologise he said he had a lot on covering other people and forgot which seems unlikely when we had the conversation that we did. After all of this we asked to speak to the manager but they never came to speak to us. Certainly wouldn’t recommend for anyone with a gluten allergy.

I had a meal at Marrocco's (on Hove Seafront). The staff looked miserable and didn’t smile. After the main course I asked the waiter were the toilet was. Then when I went to go to the toilet, I saw it was up 4 really steep, narrow, winding and slippery steps. I went back and said to the 2 staff behind the counter that the toilet was inaccessible to me. They didn’t apologise or say anything. They didn’t make eye-contact and completely ignored me. The food isn’t much to write about either. Won’t be going back again.

I d like this place . However £7 for a slice of vegan cake is a bit much !! Seriously overpriced cake . Come on guys . Lower your prices !!

what a waste of time! I went there with my girlfriend and we have waited for our orders to come for an hour. after an hour when orders came (really cold pizza) our drinks still did not came even though we warned them multiple times..unbelievable management. groups of people suffered from same issue and some of them left the place before their orders came. i dont want even walk in front of this place. they ruined our friday night.

Absolutely dreadful experience! The one saving grace was the female waitstaff, who at least tried to make up for the rest of this disaster. My food arrived long after everyone else’s, and when my ribeye finally made an appearance, it was paired with sad, dried-out roast potatoes. Nowhere on the menu did it mention this – who serves roast potatoes with a steak? When I asked the waiter if it should’ve come with chips, his attitude was awful, like I was inconveniencing him just by daring to ask. As for the steak itself, what a letdown. The cut was cheap and chewy, nowhere near the quality you’d expect for a £29 ribeye. I’d ordered it well-done, but it showed up closer to medium – if that. I left feeling totally disappointed and frustrated. If you’re going to charge a premium, at least deliver something worthy of it.

Amazing food as always. 3 of us had pizza, 1 had the calves liver and one had seafood pasta. Everyone commented on how good their meal was. Service was also good and not intrusive. Desserts that followed were also top class, including the non-mass produced tiramisu. Polished off with some good teas and coffees. Overall a great experience. It's not the cheapest place I've ever been to, but given the choice and quality, added with the great service, I think that makes it good value. Would recommend to anyone, not just italian officianados

Food was decent nothing special 50 people rimmed into a small room shoulder to shoulder with the table beside you unbelievably loud couldn't hear your self think never mind have a conversation

Not sure if we chose badly or the food just wasn't great. So will leave that one there. The dessert was delicious. Drinks were OK and service was good and polite! Bit loud but it was busy.

I highly recommend! We definitely loved! The drinks was perfectly made and food is amazing. Also the staff is lovely.

Such a gem in the midst of Soho’s chaos. Great atmosphere and amazing staff. We each had a pasta dish as we were not starving and shared a dessert between two people. Portions are a little on the smaller side but they will explain that to you upon arrival so no worries. Truffle pasta was the highlight of our table and the limoncello spritz was a very nice appetizer

Lovely food, cosy rustic vibe inside. The staff are attentive with good service. Good value for money for a meal out.

Ordered 3 pizzas over the telephone, admittedly there was a lot of noise ( background) in the restaurant , the lady said she could not hear me and put the telephone down, second attempt, again said I was breaking and put the telephone down. Third attempt was successful. As I live locally walked there, only 1 pizza ready. I mentioned to one of staff that there customers service was a lot to be desired , they apologised, My comment is not to criticise but help you improve your customer service.
