The best restaurants serving Indian food in Newquay Central Cornwall, Isles of Scilly South West

We ordered two each papadams(sp?), two onion bajiis(sp?) and we each order chicken tikka masala. After eating the papadams we were served to our surprise, three each onion bajiis instead of the one each that we expected. After eating those which were too filling I was no longer really that hungry, but then the chicken tikkas were served. My chicken was so over cooked it was like cutting rubber but the sauce was tasty. I also have to say that the sauces served with the papadams were some of the best I have ever had in an Indian restaurant although the owner and servers were from Bangladesh. Visited here last week. Normally always go to another restaurant which has gone down hill recently. Was very pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! Everything better than the other restaurant, decor, ambience, food and service. Personally I normally take pictures of the food but as we’d missed lunch this day I was too busy eating it. Poppadoms came with enough sauce which is good as some places give you like 2 teaspoons per poppadom. Had a superb chicken chat to start with, which was very big. Had a chicken madraswith mushroom rice for a main course which was tasty and very copious in size, with a nice cheese naan to go with this. The overall quality of this food was excellent and the portion size was above the norm definitely, one for the greedy amongst us. The server who was named Andre was fantastic, given us good advice on the dishes the size of the dishes and the strength of chilli in each one. He was very chatty and enjoyed spending time talking to me and my colleague who was from South Wales. Thank you Andre for making our dinner experience better than expected a true asset and ambassador of your Indian restaurant.

Had Green chilli a few times… had some really good ones! Unfortunately the last two orders have been massively lacking in flavour. I Will have to mention that the mint Rata looked like it would glow in the dark and even reminded me of a paint I would use in primary school which was entertaining yet concerning as It did make me question what on earth I was eating? Super sad to leave this poor review but I do it so as maybe you’ll buck your ideas up as it don’t look good for me ordering from GC in the future. Food always on time! Just a bit lacking.
