Pizza Calzone

Banbury Grimsbury and Castle, Cherwell, <20£
12/11/2018: Absolutely delicious pizza and pasta! The service was great and all staff friendly and attentive. Low-key dining, no frills but great atmosphere.
12/11/2018: Super restaurant, entre amis, ou en famille!

The Crown & Tuns Puddingface Country Kitchen

Deddington, Cherwell, <20£
12/11/2018: Pies were excellent and the portion size is pretty generous. You won't be disappointed! Staff were friendly and helpful. We did have to wait 50 minutes for a table but this suited us fine, although the bar area is small! Guess we happened to go when it was unusually busy as my friend who has been a few times had never seen the place like it. I would definitely make a return trip.
11/11/2018: Just had Sunday lunch here. Everything was great; service, food, drink, price and ambiance. Cannot fault

Denis Restaurant

Bicester Town, Cherwell, <20£
10/11/2018: We visited in November 2018 and what a treat. The food is well presented and realky tasty.Definately a place i would return to
06/11/2018: Very good food and attentive waiters. One of the two good restaurants in Bicester, the other is Copper Kitchen.

Little Amsterdam

Banbury Easington, Cherwell, <20£
02/11/2018: Visited here for the first time with family and had a lovely lunch. Pancakes were delicious. Super friendly staff. Will be back!
29/10/2018: When staying in Banbury, be sure to visit the Little Amsterdam if you fancy food that offers more than the mundane. A menu that offers exclusively Dutch cuisine leaves one wishing to return again and again to savour the full range of dishes on offer. The pancakes, with toppings of your choice, are not to be missed and only cissies don’t have syrup on top! The owner, who naturally enough is Dutch herself, will guide the uninitiated...

Purple Mango

Banbury Hardwick, Cherwell
04/11/2018: We visited for the buffet on a Sunday and everything tasted great. Sasa was friendly and made the experience even better. We will definitely be visiting again as it's one of the best buffets we've been to.
28/10/2018: To be honest I was quite disappointed and annoyed with the service we received! We felt like we were rushed from the minute we sat down to the minute we left, a waitress even took my friends plate away while we were still eating - which I questioned and she replied “I thought you would like more room on the table” umm for what?!?! The restaurant was being cleaned around us, then when I went to the loo someone even came in there and started cleaning - just felt like they couldn’t wait to get rid of us - party of 6 who spent over £160 in there too (and I think we were overcharged anyway!!)

The Duck on the Pond

Banbury Grimsbury and Castle, Cherwell
10/11/2018: 4 of us enjoyed our Friday evening, the food was excellent - various starters were good , steak pie & the pork belly were superb , the rib eye steak was slightly below average which was a shame. Crumble was fab and cheese board was good.
07/11/2018: Good food, friendly atmosphere. Very good choice of food options. Vegetarians well catered for.lovely location

The Trigger Pond

Caversfield, Cherwell, <20£
03/11/2018: Found this restaurant after searching TripAdvisor for a place in between 2 halves of our family. There were 16 of us including 4 young children. We pre-ordered the food as there were so many of us and we weren't disappointed. Fantastic food, great staff who made us welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
31/10/2018: 50 minutes to wait for poor food was not what we wanted.

The Bell Inn

Adderbury, Cherwell
05/11/2018: Having avoided this pub previously as it didn’t serve food, we were delighted to see that this was no longer the case under the new management so decided to try it for a snack lunch.
04/11/2018: Such a warm welcome at The Bell Inn on our 1st visit, Nothing was too much trouble and the food was fantastic, excellent Sunday Roast lunch, and particularly impressed with the delicious free range chicken and superb roasties, I’m told the brownie was divine ! will definitely visit again, well worth the 30 minute drive, very reasonably priced and highly recommend.

The Milk Shed

Kirtlington, Cherwell
29/10/2018: We met friends here from the area for brunch. On the drive in we were not expecting anything fancy but we were really impressed.
24/10/2018: Took the whole family - and baby - for birthday breakfast. We feasted fully, with delight. My scrambled egg and salmon was done to perfection - the rest of the family ate well. Our neighbours go every Sunday for breakfast : a time to read the paper over interesting food combinations and tea.

The Chequers Inn

Bicester Town, Cherwell
12/11/2018: We booked a table for mid day on a Sunday for lunch. It had great reviews, however our experience went down hill when we were given a table at the rea of the restaurant. This may have been because we were accompanied by our grand child. From that point onwards it was rush us out of the door because the only allow a 2 hr seating arrangement. This was not clear from the web site or what they advised when booking the room. The pie was very good, but the peas and other vegetables were over cooked and salty. The biggest issue was being constantly being visited by the staff so that we would leave the establishment. Not a good experience for an establishment wishing to be a top establishment.
02/11/2018: A small group went there for lunch , certainly not disappointed . Lovely and warm inside very pleasant reception and delicious food , overall a good menu to chose from. Couldn’t fault it at all

The Oxford Arms

Kirtlington, Cherwell, >100£
22/10/2018: This was our second visit to the superb Oxford Arms. Oxana & Bryn Jones, the owners, are a fantastic team. The warm welcome from Oxana into the delightful old building is lovely & the food is absolutely delicious. Very good value & a good wine list too. The combination of good front of house & excellent food is a winning formula & we will be back very soon.
05/10/2018: We had a fabulous dinner. Really excellent. Delicious celeriac and stilton soup, followed by first class guinea fowl with bacon, chestnuts, cavolo nero and a stupendous sauce. It was all absolutely first class and - for what it's worth as a comparison - up to Michelin star quality. The chef is very talented. Great wine list too. Added to which the pub is very pretty, cosy, and with a lovely open fire, and the service was terrific. A great evening.

Reg's Cafe

Banbury Grimsbury and Castle, Cherwell, <20£
07/11/2018: We were on our way to the midlands for a delivery and needed a decent place for breakfast & found this on google .
06/11/2018: Often meet my wife for lunch here, and we are never dissapointed. Freshly cooked food and always pleasant service.

The Muddy Duck

Fringford, Cherwell
06/11/2018: We go to the Muddy Duck in hethe at least once a month and had our daughters 18th birthday meal there. The food is always fantastic, brilliant customer service and great setting. Only wished I lived in hethe then I could go more often.
04/11/2018: We have been meaning to come here for 3 years since we moved close by and today we finally managed it....all we can say is, why did we wait so long???

Copper Kitchen

Bicester Town, Cherwell, <20£
01/11/2018: The copper kitchen is fantastic, very traditional restaurant with a first class chef, the food, service and ambiance is perfect, I can’t recommend it enough, you won’t be disappointed.
30/10/2018: A group of 20 of us headed here for a meal the night before our wedding. Now that they’ve had their refurb, they were able to accommodate us perfectly. We pre ordered, just to make it a little bit easier for them.

New Mogul Indian Cuisine

Banbury Grimsbury and Castle, Cherwell, 20-30£
11/11/2018: Forget the rest and try the best Indian Restaurant in Banbury. Located in Parsons Street in Banbury. It is the towns oldest Indian restaurant, the food quality is excellent. Service is excellent. Eat in or order a take away and neither disappoints. Highly recommended. Forget the rest try the best because for the last two nights I have not been disappointed. Saturday night I had a Chicken Tikka Dhansak which was excellent and Sunday night I had a Chicken Tikka Curry. Both curries were tasty. Well done Mogul Banbury
22/10/2018: One of our favourite Indian restaurants, we come here fairly regularly, and have done for years. The food is consistently good, as is the service. Favourites are the chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo, and lamb tikka starter.
