Went to bishops bakes for the first time a few days ago - it was insanely good so decided I would order an avengers themed birthday cake for my nephews party.(the cake was phenomenal and my nephew loved it tasted amazing too) Jess and the team are quick efficient and so helpful and friendly. The store is amazing and it’s so lovely to see a bit of colour up parsons street. Decided I would try the ham bagel 🥯 and it didn’t disappoint needless to stay I will be a regular visitor…..

I came in today with my kids, my son had the hot chocolate and old school cake pop whilst I had the mocha and Biscoff cupcake. Both were super lovely and the service was amazing, super friendly. I’ve ordered a few times from Jess for birthday cakes and have always loved her bakes! Will definitely be coming again to try one of the many bagels!

Visited today and was really impressed with how Jess & team have created a friendly, bright and welcoming space to have coffee & cake - exactly what Banbury needs with more and more stores closing! Thoroughly enjoyed my bagel, and the brownie was next level! Staff were all lovely and will definitely be visiting again!

Popped into Bishops Bakes with a friend this afternoon. The gorgeous blue shop front stood out on Parson's street. Jess and her busy team were extremely welcoming and friendly. I went for the Smoked Salmon and Dill Cream Cheese bagel , it was delicious, fresh and well-filled. My friend went for the Grilled chicken bagel and also said it was delicious! We both went for the Kinder Brownies which were TO DIE FOR! Perfectly baked! Even though Bishops Bakes isn't a coffee shop, Jess provides a selection of hot and cold drinks , including the boujee blue-coloured White Hot Chocolate and the pink-coloured Ruby Hot Chocolate! The food and drinks were so reasonably priced. I can't wait to go back and try more! 💕💙

Great little bakery that has great potential and has given the area more life. The bagels taste amazing and the cakes are all fresh. The prices are very fair for what you get and it is very cosy

Absolutely insane cakes and the owner Jess is incredible at what she does/creates. Not just a cake/coffee shop but they also make cakes at your request for birthdays etc. I had my sons made by Jess and it went down a storm, hoping to also get a wedding cake next year. Worth a trip and next time I can’t wait to try a bagel.

Visited on the 2nd day, after their grand opening on the 19th Feb 2022. Delicious bagels! I had the grilled chicken with bacon & truffle Aioli, my family had the ham and also the salmon bagel which were equally as good, I can be sure of that as they didn't leave any for me to try! Cakes baked fresh early each morning (Tuesday to Saturday) and special order cakes on request. While we were there we saw a pre ordered Marvel themed cake on the way to a birthday party that The Hulk himself would have approved of! Fabulous to see a family run hospitality business opening in these turbulent post covid times! Good luck family Bishop, if it carries on as it has started I can see multiple Bishop's Bakes popping up starting a cake revolution from Banbury!

Went for the family day/eve over bank holiday weekend. Had a drink and burger in garden with our family and friends which was lovely. However we decided to move in at 8.45 for the live music. Our children (4 kids between us aged 7-12) asks to throw a ball outside In the picnic area which is fine by us. 20 minutes later an adult from our party goes to check on our children to find an adult male swearing and shouting at our kids about messing with a child’s drink. Now I am under no illusion about innocent children but 1) our children were drinking orange juice not the coke the bloke was swearing about and 2) this family were sat next to us and could of easily spoken to us regarding the incident they thought unfolded. When I went over to speak to the man I was met with F off and p off and all sorts of chants of off. When I went to speak to bar staff they were equally horrified by the unfolding (as were 2 punters by the bar) however when the manger came over to discuss it was fairly obviously these people were locals and he did not want to reprimand them. All in what could of been a fantastic family friendly evening was tainted by the behaviour of some certain adults. Would not go again.

From the outside, the Swan Inn might appear to be a simple village pub, but step inside, and you’re in for an extraordinary experience. Upon entering, we were immediately impressed by the open view of the professional kitchen, where chefs could be seen meticulously preparing dishes. It was clear right away that this was not just another gastro pub. We were warmly welcomed and seated, and our waiter, Joe, guided us through the menu with care and clarity. His thoughtful explanations made choosing our dishes an enjoyable experience. Before our starters arrived, we were treated to freshly baked bread served with two types of butter: honey and malt. The combination was sensational and set the tone for what was to come. For starters, I had the venison, which was incredibly tender – it melted with a single fork stroke. The flavours were perfectly balanced, allowing the venison to truly shine. A delightful surprise was the inclusion of two mini onion rings, lightly battered and utterly delicious. My wife opted for the burrata, complemented by a delicate candied orange peel. It was a brilliant pairing, and we’ve already decided to replicate it at home. For mains, I had the rib-eye steak, cooked to a flawless medium-rare. The quality was outstanding – a well-hung steak that true steak lovers will immediately recognize as exceptional. My wife chose the Thai curry, which was a masterclass in balance. Unlike many other curries, this one wasn’t overwhelmed by cream; instead, the fresh, fragrant ingredients took centre stage. If The Swan Inn were located in a more densely populated area, I have no doubt it would be booked out weeks in advance. It’s a hidden gem that delivers in every way. We loved every second and will absolutely be returning. Five stars, without a doubt.

Glad I found this place ideally located near Banbury train station. I enjoyed my veggie burger and slush and an extra thanks to the owner for providing a warm welcome to a weary traveller.

Really chill vibe, and great cocktails for a super reasonable price. Worth a visit in its own right, but also a perfect place to stop whilst browsing the other stalls at Lock 29!

A Disheartening Departure from Excellence I visited this Deli with high expectations, having previously experienced its beautiful atmosphere, delectable food, and superb service. Unfortunately, my second visit left me utterly disappointed. The food fell far short of the excellence we enjoyed last time, and the service, to put it mildly, was exceptionally unfriendly. Regrettably, I found myself unable to voice my concerns during the meal, as I was with friends whom I respected too much to disrupt our gathering. It's disheartening to witness such a decline in quality, and I must admit that, despite my initial positive experiences, I won't be returning to this establishment. PS: Unfortunately, I do not have any picture of my second visit (
