Have never had Polish food before and saw this restaurant whilst visiting Banbury. The restaurant is cosy and welcoming and just the place to be on a wet and miserable Saturday evening. Unfortunately they had sold out of their cabbage dish which I was keen to try but the pierogi which we shared and our pork goulash were delicious. We had Polish beers with fruit syrup and tried their gold Bison vodka- all were really good. Our waitress was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely return

The atmosphere here is wonderfully homey, like being invited to dinner by a Polish grandma. The place is small, which gives it an intimate feel, though it might be challenging for larger groups (6+), as you can hear everything in the space. The staff are attentive and professional, adding to the welcoming experience. The cutlery and plates are also worth peaked my interest. Unlike many places that serve tiny portions on oversized, plain white plates, here you get generous portions on delicate, gold-rimmed plates. This attention to detail really shows the care the owners put into both the food and its presentation, which perfectly complements the decor. However, I do think the menus could use a redesign. A few more translations would be helpful, as the current layout feels cluttered. Personally, I'd prefer a more minimalistic menu without images, as they make it look a bit dated. While a plain white menu with fancy text wouldn’t match the charm of the place, the current design was a bit overwhelming at first. A simpler, thoughtfully organized menu could really enhance the experience. The food is effing excellent, This was my first time trying Polish cuisine, and it really gives a sense of hearty, robust flavours. I really got the idea of that this was something people would eat if they were in a war with not very funny people. It's perfect for winter. Maybe this is my British taste but the food really hits the back of the throat. I would probably order something a bit more mild next time, I don't think I've ever "complained" about a meal being too boldly seasoned. I’ve visited a few places in Banbury, a town with a certain working-class gruffness, and only a handful of spots here truly make you forget where you are. This place is one of them. For a Mother’s Day celebration or a cozy little date night, I’d say it’s the best choice in Banbury.

This restaurant is such a gem! I'd recommend it to anyone. It made our evening out in Banbury so much more special. The food is delicious; the portions are good sizes and the prices are reasonable. You can taste the love it is cooked with. The owner and her daughter (sorry I didn't catch your names!) were very friendly and came to our concert afterwards. I'll definitely be back!

Looking for somewhere different to celebrate my birthday with friends rather than the usual Indian or Chinese restaurant's, I suggested V&T. I have been to Poland and tried many Polish foods, so not a problem for me. All of my friends were "Apprehensive" about trying Polish food. We ordered a variety of different foods and everything that we ordered was eaten and thoroughly enjoyed. A couple of friends have said that they would definitely return. It's a small restaurant, with very friendly staff, they also serve some good strong polish beers! I have given V&T a 5 star rating for the quality of their food and their friendly service.

This place is seriously underrated. My friend and I wanted something healthy and hearty for a dinner. We just made I'd half hr before closing and managed to get a table. Had cottage cheese pierogi to start of followed by roast chicken. The pierogi were gone in few seconds with real forest blueberries confiture on top as a garnish, wish we had order more. Then few moments later a half roast chicken, rotisserie for 3.5 hrs beautiful, juicy, crumbly.. hmmm the best chicken I had in long years. Last time I had chicken like this I had when I was a teen back in Poland 🇵🇱. My friend from 🇿🇦 was beside himself of how good the food was. Not overspiced, not bland just cooked to perfection. Being Polish you won't find condiments like salt/pepper on the table, food is just prepared to perfection. His only complaint was that the vodka was too strong 😂😂, well, that's Polish Zubrowka for you my dear lol. Then cheesecake 😋 oh...so soft and fluffy... if I lived so close , I'd be there every day. For a huge meal like that with starter, drinks, main and dessert 🍨, £20 is enough to fill you up to the brim. Thank you guys, see you soon hopefully xx

Impromptu dinner. Wonderful food in a cosy environment. Polish food = comfort food! The meal was hot and very tasty, we shared a starter of various Pierogies followed by a delicious stew/stuffed cabbage leaves and nicely prepared/presented vegetables. Very filling and good value. Friendly, courteous service and a warm welcome. We took our own wine and paid corkage.

We'd seen an appealing flyer for this new Polish cafe in Banbury and thought we'd try it on Saturday evening. What a great experience and great value! The small space is welcoming and charming, service is incredibly friendly and helpful, particularly for those, like us, who aren't that familiar with Polish dishes. We had mixed, spicy, stuffed dumplings (with goulash sauce), and stuffed cabbage. Both really delicious. The homemade lemonade was excellent (you can bring in your own alcohol). Raspberry liqueur/mousse cake was a terrific pud. Great care and skill taken with everything. It's a new venture which deserves to succeed.

From the outside, the Swan Inn might appear to be a simple village pub, but step inside, and you’re in for an extraordinary experience. Upon entering, we were immediately impressed by the open view of the professional kitchen, where chefs could be seen meticulously preparing dishes. It was clear right away that this was not just another gastro pub. We were warmly welcomed and seated, and our waiter, Joe, guided us through the menu with care and clarity. His thoughtful explanations made choosing our dishes an enjoyable experience. Before our starters arrived, we were treated to freshly baked bread served with two types of butter: honey and malt. The combination was sensational and set the tone for what was to come. For starters, I had the venison, which was incredibly tender – it melted with a single fork stroke. The flavours were perfectly balanced, allowing the venison to truly shine. A delightful surprise was the inclusion of two mini onion rings, lightly battered and utterly delicious. My wife opted for the burrata, complemented by a delicate candied orange peel. It was a brilliant pairing, and we’ve already decided to replicate it at home. For mains, I had the rib-eye steak, cooked to a flawless medium-rare. The quality was outstanding – a well-hung steak that true steak lovers will immediately recognize as exceptional. My wife chose the Thai curry, which was a masterclass in balance. Unlike many other curries, this one wasn’t overwhelmed by cream; instead, the fresh, fragrant ingredients took centre stage. If The Swan Inn were located in a more densely populated area, I have no doubt it would be booked out weeks in advance. It’s a hidden gem that delivers in every way. We loved every second and will absolutely be returning. Five stars, without a doubt.
