The Green Man

Whittlesford, South Cambridgeshire, 20-30£
11/02/2019: Our second visit to this wonderful community owned village pub, once agin it did not disappoint. Very welcoming friendly staff, great atmosphere and really great well cooked food... We have already booked for Easter Sunday family luncheon....I have no hesitation in recommending this gem !!!
06/02/2019: Very good tasty lunch made with local ingredients, but a little on the expensive side. However lovely cosy characterful pub, I would go again

Papworth and Elsworth, South Cambridgeshire
10/02/2019: A lot of Indian restaurants I find are the same however a few really do stand above the rest because the are exceptional and this restaurant is one of them.
09/02/2019: Have been here a couple of times and again never disappoints...the food is the best and the staff and service excellent...if you haven't tried it you should!

La Pergola

Haslingfield and The Eversdens, South Cambridgeshire, 20-30£
03/02/2019: Firstly, this restaurant is fantastic for families. Lovely fresh food, great kids menu, brilliant service from all the staff and very family/child friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Very good value for money. Sadly, the negatives. The garden is lovely but neglected. Please make sure you check the toys outside..... practically everything is broken including the playground equipment. This garden could be amazing with a little love and attention. I know that it's only a restaurant playground, and you cannot expect it to be as well maintained as a council play area but it really is post apocalyptic and pretty dangerous! Most of the toys need chucking away.
03/02/2019: I have visited this restaurant several times and I always have had great food. This time I tried the tiramisu and honestly I think it’s the best of Cambridgeshire. Absolutely amazing!

Pig and Abbot

The Mordens, South Cambridgeshire
03/02/2019: The best and biggest steak and kidney pud I have had in a long time and the starters wernt bad either
23/01/2019: Lovely rural pub. Friendly and efficient service. The homemade pies are out of this world and are worth travelling any distance for. The beer and wine are well kept and varied. My husband loved his pint of Wherry. The pies are very filling so go with a good appetite. We didn't manage a starter or dessert!

Forum House

The Shelfords and Stapleford, South Cambridgeshire, 30-45£
12/02/2019: We spent a most enjoyable evening belatedly celebrating the Chinese New Year. I had heard good things about this restaurant and they were all true. When we arrived the restaurant was nearly full but the staff were very attentive but not intrusive. There is often the criticism levelled at Chinese restaurants that they lack atmosphere but this certainly wasn’t the case. There was a good atmosphere that didn’t prevent us from hearing each other! We had the special Chinese New Year set menu and the food was excellent- the food arrived hot and the service timing was excellent. This restaurant is well worth a visit.
10/02/2019: Went here to celebrate a belated Chinese New Year. Absolute gem of a place. The atmosphere is a cross between a traditional English restaurant, with the classic round tables, nicely spaced, quiet buzz, no munchkin, efficient, none obtrusive service, and Chinese decor.

The John Barleycorn

Duxford, South Cambridgeshire
14/01/2019: Stopped here for lunch when visiting Duxford IWM. Very expansive choice of food on menu. It was busy with many reserved tables, our food was delicious it arrived promptly. The pub had a good atmosphere, was family and dog friendly with a decent car park.
03/12/2018: Ate lunch here on a Thursday with a former work colleague – never been before but it was a useful half-way house – smallish car park at the rear was more than half full – encouraging sign

The Royal Oak

Orwell and Barrington, South Cambridgeshire
03/01/2019: Lugar encantador para almorzar o cenar el domingo. La comida es de muy alta calidad y bien presentada, el servicio es rápido.
08/12/2018: Lovely village pub, great location and friendly staff. The rest of my party would have probably scored higher but with no vegan options on the menu I could only score 3.

Dog and Duck

Linton, South Cambridgeshire
12/02/2019: Early dinner in this lovely pub, locals and staff very friendly.
06/02/2019: Was struggling to find a country pub open for food after 2pm on a Saturday, rang The Dog and Duck on the off chance, they were very obliging saying that although last orders are at 2,30pm not to worry get there as soon as we could and reserved us a table.

The Tickell Arms

Whittlesford, South Cambridgeshire
06/02/2019: Just had an amazing lunch here, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my allergens and checked with the kitchen staff with what I could eat. In the end they swapped things in and out without a fuss. From reading a previous review I fail to see where the service in the bar differs to the restaurant. The service and staff are a credit to The Tickell Arms and I couldn’t fault them at all. I can’t wait to return and eat lunch in the near future!
30/01/2019: Well as a Whittlesford resident I was not impressed. Popped in for a couple of pints and a crossword and left feeling very unwelcome. Clearly not the target audience. "Good nights" and "cheers" saved for the big spenders I think. Fair enough, but don't pretend to be a village pub. Will be frequenting the Bees in the Wall in future. As I advise other Whittlesford locals to do.

The Navigator

The Shelfords and Stapleford, South Cambridgeshire, <20£
13/02/2019: Great food, Great value, Great staff. Excellent experience! Looking forward to my next visit very soon.
16/12/2018: We chose the Navigator as our venue for the team business meal. We'd been here before, and as then we had a great evening. The venue is friendly and homely, the food is good (I had the Thai fish cakes and chicken green curry) and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. I can really recommend this place for a relaxed and enjoyable evening meal. :-)

Lalbagh Bangladeshi & Indian Diner

Bourn, South Cambridgeshire, 30-45£
03/02/2019: This is a quality restaurant to enjoy Indian food. The menu is extensive and with many special unusual dishes especially some of the fish dishes. Service is excellent
09/01/2019: Excellent food and friendly service. Can always rely on a smile and a tasty curry when you come here. Not the cheapest but definitely the best!

The Plough Coton

Barton, South Cambridgeshire, <20£
25/01/2019: Came here for the first time with friends after work. The service and food were great and the waiter did not mind the changes that we asked for. Food was fresh and the atmosphere was relaxing. Would definitely come back.
22/01/2019: He visitado The Plough varias veces y nunca me ha decepcionado, la comida y el servicio siempre se entregan. Para mí, un gran pub / restaurante necesita consistencia y el arado lo tiene todo a punto. Sin duda volveremos pronto!

The Waggon & Horses

The Mordens, South Cambridgeshire
14/02/2019: Very good value and quality pub food, with a large choice, although wine is expensive for a village pub. Staff very friendly.
30/10/2018: First time of many had 2 lovely mixed grills great service great price partner had a pudding again very well presented joe and Mandy were very friendly helpful can’t praise enough thanks again Paul/Michelle

The White Horse

Barton, South Cambridgeshire
11/02/2019: We have been there for the Sunday Roast the first time. We were a little bit worried because there were hardly any other guests in the Pub at around 2.15 pm. The interior is very cosy. A bit old fashioned but that is exactly how a countryside pub should be in my opinion. They have a log fire place which adds a lot atmosphere to the pub.
21/01/2019: We stopped here for lunch, which is advertised outside as a three course lunch for £7.95. I had tomato soup, grilled gammon steak with pineapple and a Portuguese Nata with ice cream. It was delicious and great value for money. My two colleagues ate burgers from a the al a carte section and they were equally pleased, although their burgers cost more than my three courses!

The Three Horseshoes

Barton, South Cambridgeshire, 45-60£
25/01/2019: I visited the restaurant last night with my Book Club friends. The staff were welcoming and seated us on a circular table, enabling us to involve everyone in our conversations.
23/01/2019: My friend and I popped into the Three Horseshoes for the set lunch recently and were very impressed with the quantity and quality of their meals. The Harvest Bowl needs a particular mention: it was colourful, tasty, no doubt healthy, and brimming with spicy nuts. Although my pea and pancetta risotto was also delicious, I must confess to a little food envy! The creamy parsnip and leek soup for starter and the apple and mincemeat strudel and custard were excellent too. The staff were all really friendly and I was pleased to have butter served with the fresh warm bread rather than oil. Well done! Yum yum!
