Thank you for a wonderful high tea to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. Tash really pulled out all the stops with customised, individual menus & an amazing spread of food. She accommodated all our dietary requirements, including a delicious vegan sausage roll.

I was paying a short visit to the ‘Olde Worlde’ village of Melbourn in Cambridgeshire, England. I had around 80 - 90 minutes before I need to catch a train back to my home town. I found this café along the return route to Meldreth rail station. This was a small and quiet café, half full even with a few customers present at two or three tables. And a lovely sofa, complete with cushions and a coffee table, looking out onto the Village High street. The decor has a garden style to it. Light colours with green colours and what looks like plastic foliage dotted around. There are games and puzzles for customers to enjoy during their visit. The staff were very friendly and I ordered a Buddha bowl and a pot of Jasmine Green Tea. Both the meal and hot drink were freshly made and tasted delicious. The café has customer Wi-Fi and displays the password near the counter. Well worth a visit for a healthy breakfast, lunch and a coffee or tea.

Popped into The Hideaway Cafe for a quick coffee and cake before meeting some friends. Such a friendly atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door, nice and clean and can cater for all. Cake was homemade and delicious, will definitely be returning soon x

A super friendly, welcoming and warm environment. The staff were lovely and the food even better. Myself and my 5 friends were all very happy with the service and quality of our food. I never really leave reviews but felt this necessary as it really was a great experience. I will be definitely be going back again

Cambridge RoadNice cafe to go to for a coffee and cake after a long walk around the country park. Great decking area to the side of the cafe and a lovely balcony at the back overlooking the lake.

The Chequers High StreetMy favourite place to visit when near Cambridge. You could not ask for a more quintessential pub experience than at Chequers in Fowlmere. Everyone here is so kind, generous, and social. Chris and Jade are the best - love me some Struan! Even visitors feel like they've been going to this pub for years and are just part of the whole crew. Can't think of a better place to celebrate a birthday with friends, have a pint with your best friend, or just enjoy some fantastic British food and drink. Can't wait to go back again!

14 Alms HillIt was a Thursday lunch time when I visited. It was quiet with only four or five other customers. I was served quickly by friendly staff. The cheese scone and cake were good as was the coffee. The prices were reasonable making it reasonable value for money. Free WiFi was available, always a plus. Quite nice smart rustic decore, if that is not a contradiction. There is also an outside area to sir. I feel a bit mean 'only" giving it four stars; my head says it deserved five but my heart stopped giving it the full quota of stars. I have visited several times since my first visit, the latest in January 2022. In this latest visit I had a cherry frangipane tart and it was sublime; a nice crispy crust, soft frangipani, plenty of succulent cherries and a delicious pastry base. For this reason I have increased my initial 4-star review up to five. July 2022 - still great. June 2023 - still just as good. September 2023 - still great.
