The food was fine - not outstanding, but perfectly respectable Dales fare (lots of roast meats and all that). But the experience was diminished by the fact that the restaurant is severely understaffed

No beer on draught, no food available. The only drink on tap was from yorkshire water. Don't know how the landlord makes a living, rumour is he has funds hidden in a barrel of Wensleydale Gold.

Another visit to the Wensleydale Heifer for Saturday lunch, absolutely exceptional meal, thank you to the remarkable people involved, truly the best hotel & restaurant in Yorkshire.
